자낙스정 0.25 밀리그람 (알프라졸람 0.25 밀리그람)에 대한 자이렌정 0.25 밀리그람의 생물학적 동등성 (Bioequivalence of Zyren 0.25 mg Tablet to Xanax 0.25 mg Tablet (Alprazolam 0.25 mg))

  • The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the bioequivalence of two alprazolam tablets, Xanax 0.25 mg (Pharmacia Korea Pharm. Co., Ltd.) and Zyren 0.25 mg (Kwang Dong Pharm. Co., Ltd.), according to the guidelines of Korea Food and Drug Administration (KFDA). The alprazolam release from two alprazolam tablets in vitro was tested using KP VIII Apparatus II method with various dissolution media (pH 1.2, 4.0, 6.8 buffer solutions and water). The dissolution profiles of two alprazolam tablets were very similar at all dissolution media. Twenty four healthy male volunteers were divided into two groups with a randomized 2${\times}$2 cross-over study. After four tablets (1 mg alprazolam) were orally administrated, blood was taken and the concentrations of alprazolam in serum were determined using LC/MS/MS. The pharmacokinetic parameters such as $AUC_t$, $C_max$ and $T_max$were determined. Our results showed that the differences in $AUC_t$, $C_max$ and $T_max$ between two alprazolam tablets based on the Xanax were -11.65%, -4.44% and -39.31%, respectively. There were no sequence effects between two tablets in these parameter. The 90% confidence intervals using logarithmically transformed data were within the acceptance range of log(0.8) to log(1.25)(e.g., log(0.8386)${\sim}$log(0.9453) and log(0.8596)${\sim}$log(1.1040) for $AUC_t$, $C_max$, respectively). Thus, Zyren 0.25 mg tablet was bioequivalent to Xanax 0.25 mg tablet.

  • Although studies of the sacral corridor dimension have been reported in the European population, little attention has been paid to this issue in the Asian population. The purpose of the study is to estimate the safe dimension of the corridor to avoid neurovascular damage during the fixation of the sacral fracture. The study aimed to examine the cephalocaudal (vertical) and the anteroposterior diameter of the bony passage in the upper three sacral segments. The study further examines the effect of age and sex on corridor dimensions at different sacral levels. Three-dimensionally reconstructed sacra from computed tomography of normal subjects were included in the study. Cephalocaudal and anteroposterior diameters were measured in coronal and axial sections using Geomagic Freeform Plus software. Anteroposterior diameter of the sacral corridor at the first, second, and third sacral segments are significantly higher in males (P=0.013, 0.0011, and <0.0001, respectively). The length of the sacrum also revealed sexual dimorphism (P<0.00016). The anteroposterior diameter of the second sacral segment (ap-S2c) correlated moderately with the first sacral anteroposterior diameter (ap-S1c) (R=0.519, P<0.001). The ap-S2c exhibited a moderate correlation to the third sacral segment (ap-S3c) (R=0.677, P<0.001). The sacral corridor at the level of S1 has the largest cephalocaudal (18.25 mm) and anteroposterior diameter (17.11 mm). Placement of the screw in the first sacral corridor may avoid damage to the neurovascular bundle during the fixation of the sacral fracture.

  • Pseudomonas sp. EL-G527 was grown to produce a biosurfactant on 2% n-hexadecane as the energy and carbon source. This biosurfactant significantly reduced the surface tension of water from 72 to 28 dyne/cm at a critical micelle concentration(CMC) of 140 mg/l at pH 2.0. As the pH value decreased, the reduction in the surface tension due to the biosurfactant increased. The surface activity of the biosurfactant was unaffected when the NaCl concentration was increased to 5% and the calcium ion concentration increased to 100 mM, plus it remained stable at 10$0^{\circ}C$ for 180 min.

The Change of Ultrasonic Transmission Velocity by Wood Decay

  • The deterioration in wood by the brown-rot fungus (Fomitopsispalustris) and the white-rot fungus (Trametesversicolor) were measured using ultrasonic velocity. Those were used for the decay exposure and 4 wood species of wood as the test specimens, Pinusdensiflora, Larixkaempferi, Pinuskoraiensis and Pinusrigida, were chosen with both the brown- and white-rot culture petridish during 12 weeks. After 12 weeks, the decrease rate of ultrasonic velocity was measured at 10~15%. In both brown- and white-rot exposure experiments, P. rigida showed significant decrease in ultrasonic velocity (20%), L. kaempferi on the other hand did not show decrease in ultrasonic velocity. After the fungal exposure experiment, the inside of specimens was investigated by computer tomography (C/T). After C/T investigation, bending tests were performed.

  • 서울지역의 소아설사환자가 가검물로부터 분리한 로타바이러스의 VP7을 코딩하는 RNA분절 cDNA를 합성한 후 로타바이러스 혈청형1인 WA1과 RE9의 아홉 번째 RNA분절과 비교하였더니 90%이상의 유사성을 보였다. 염기서열로부터 유추된 아미노산 서열중 혈청간에 변이가 많은 VR5와 VR8 지역을 비교한 결과 역시 혈청형 1인 RE9과 WA1 바이러스주와 매우 높은 유사성을 지님을 알 수 있었다.

  • Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs)는 유기염소계 농약잔류성분의 GLC분석에 간섭하는 물질이다. 본 실험에서는 PCBs의 존재하에 대표적인 유기염소계 농약 및 이들의 주요대사물의 분석을 목저르오 Florisil column상에서 PCBs와 농약성분의 분리를 시도하였다. 활성화한 Florisil column에서 $\alpha-BHC,\; \gamma-BHC$, Heptachlor, epoxide, Dielerin, p.p'-DDD, p.p'-DDT와 Aroclor 1254는 완전히 그리고 정량적으로 분리하여 GLC로 분석할 수 있었다. Heptachlor와 Aldrin은 Aroclor와 함께 elution되나 Chromatogram 상에서 정량이 가능하였다. 본 시험에서 사용한 Florisil column chromatography는 많은 시료를 대상으로 한 잔류농약의 효과적 분석에 사용될 수 있다.

Preparation of Proton-Conducting Gd-Doped Barium Cerate by Oxalate Coprecipitation Method

  • $BaCe_{0.9}Gd_{0.1_O_{2.95}$ powder was synthesized by oxalate coprecipitation method. Precipitate with a stoichimetric ratio of the cations was prepared by adding a mixture of Ba, Ce and Gd nitrate solution to an oxalic acid solution at pH 4. Reaction between the constituent oxides to form a perovskite phase was initiated at $800^{\circ}C$ and a single phase $BaCe_{0.9}Gd_{0.1_O_{2.95}$ powder having good sinterability was obtained after calcination at $1000^{\circ}C$. Sintering green compacts of this powder for 6 h showed a considerable densification to start at $1100^{\circ}C$ and resulted in 93% and 97% relative densities at $1300^{\circ}$ and at $1450^{\circ}C$, respectively. Whereas the power compacts prepared by solid state reaction had lower relative densities, 78% at $1300^{\circ}$and 90% at $1450^{\circ}C$. Fine particles of $CeO_2$ second phase were observed in the surface of the sintered compacts. This was attributed to the evaporation of BaO from the surface that had been exposed during thermal etching.

Thermally Induced Cationic Polymerization of Glycidyl Phenyl Ether Using Novel Xanthenyl Phosphonium Salts

  • The present study firstly describes the synthesis of novel, thermo-latent initiators based on xanthenyl phosphonium salts with different counter anions and phosphine moieties and secondly examines their efficiency in the bulk polymerization of glycidyl phenyl ether(GPE). The polymerization was performed with phosphonium salt initiators($I_{SbF6}$, $I_{PF6}$, $I_{AsF6}$ and $I_{BF4}$) at ambient temperature to $200^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The order of initiator activity was $I_{SbF6}>I_{PF6}>I_{AsF6}>I_{BF4}$. To examine the effect of the phosphine moiety on the initiator activity, polymerization was carried out with $I_{SbF6}(Ph_{3}P)$ and $II_{SbF6}(Bu_{3}P)$ at ambient temperature to $170^{\circ}C$ for 1 h. The order of reactivity was $I_{SbF6}>II_{SbF6}$. In general, the conversion percentage increased with increasing polymerization temperature. The thermal stability of these salts was measured by thermo gravimetric analysis(TGA). The solubility of phosphonium salts in various organic solvents and epoxy monomers was also investigated.

  • Cephalosporin-C deacetylase (CAH) catalyzes the deacetylation of cephalosporin derivatives. A novel gene encoding the CAH from Bacillus sp. KCCM10143 was cloned and sepuenced. The uncleotide sequence contained an open reading frame encoding a polypeptide consisting of 217 amino acids and a molecular weight of 24 kDa which was in good agreement with the value obtained by sodium dodecylsulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. An expression plasmid was constructed by inserting the CAH gene into the region of the pTrc99A expression vector. An active from of the CAH protein was expressed in the soluble fraction obtained after cell disruption. in fermentation using a 5-1 jar fementer, the transformant E. coli JM109 (pDST654) produced 4.12 U of CAH per ml of culture during 16 h of incubation.

Isolation and Sequence Analysis of Two Ornithine Decarboxylase Antizyme Genes from Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus)

  • Ornithine decarboxylase (ODC) antizyme is a key regulatory protein in the control of cellular polyamines. We have isolated two distinct ODC antizyme cDNA clones (AZS and AZL) from a flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) brain cDNA library. Their sequences revealed that both clones required translational frameshifting for expression. Taking + 1 frameshifting into account, AZS and AZL products were 221 and 218 amino acid residues long, respectively, and shared $83.3\%$ amino acid sequence identity. Comparison of the structure and nucleotide sequence of the antizyme genes showed that the genes were highly conserved in flounder, zebrafish, mouse, and human. A phylogenetic tree was constructed, based on the antizyme amino acid sequences from various species. The presence of the two types of antizyme mRNA species in brain, kidney, liver, and embryo was confirmed by using the reverse transcription­polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and Northern blot analysis. Recombinant proteins of flounder ODC antizymes, containing His-Nus-S tag at the amino-terminus, were overexpressed as His-AZL and His-AZS fusion proteins in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3) pLys by using the pET­44a(+) expression vector.
