Both Plato and More imagined alternative ways of organizing society. What is common to both authors, then, is the fact that they resorted to fiction to discuss other options. They differed, however, in the way they presented that fiction. The concept of utopia is no doubt an attribute of modern thought, and one of its most visible consequences. But one of the main features of utopia as a literary genre is its relationship with reality. Utopists depart from the observation of the society they live in, note down the aspects that need to be changed and imagine a place where those problems have been solved. After the two World Wars, the twentieth century was predominantly characterized by man's disappointment at the perception of his own nature. In this context, utopian ideals seemed absurd and the floor was inevitably left to dystopian discourse. Both The Road by Cormac MacCarthy and The Childhood of Jesus by J. M. Coetzee can be called critical dystopia and critical utopia as they represent the imaginary place and time that author intended a contemporaneous reader to view as better or worse than contemporary society but with difficult problems that the described society may or may not be able to solve. As a changed adventure narrative, they have something in common like open ending, father and son relationship and religious allegory. But the most important thing is that they express the utopian impulse that is still energetic and transforming in the post-modern society.
During the 1960-1970s, a group of ceramic conservation scientists and ceramic historians in South Korea came together and established their own disciplines. While the two disciplines share the same ceramics as the subjects of their research, there has been little interaction between the two as their research outputs are articulated in remarkably different languages. This paper aims to address the following questions by using a case study that focuses on the research on white porcelains centered on the project of Gyeonggi Museum and a series of studies conducted by one of the museum's project research teams. First, what are the characteristics of and differences between the explanation styles of the two disciplines that share the same research subjects of ceramics? Second, why has the communication between the two disciplines become difficult? Third, if there can be a trading zone wherein the two disciplines would be able to communicate again, what would be its epistemic conditions? The focus of this paper is the relationship between scientific data and ordinary language, which the two disciplines have shared from their inception. By analyzing the relationship, I first argue that, as the analytical techniques of conservation science have become more developed, conservation science's data have gradually lost its relevance in ceramic history, in spite of a shared common language between them; Second, I argue that by recovering the import of shared language again, the scientific data can be placed in a different practical context, providing novel interpretations that are relevant and often consequential to ceramic history.

Seochon('West Village') is located in the west side of Gyeongbokgung(Gyeongbok Royal Palace) inside the old city wall of Seoul. Seochon has beautiful scenic view surrounding Mt. Inwang and has been known as the representative historical and cultural landscape region in Korea that historical and cultural resources are rich. But when the figure of Seochon which has repeated the changes with the ones of the times is considered, values of beauty of natural landscape that Seochon had and its own placeness have not been gradually recognized as it has been swept away in logic of the development on the strength of economics. This study tries to examine the original form of landscape on Seochon which can be the standard of landscape change, the causes and process of its change and possibility to conserve and restore it to recognize potential value about historical culture of Seochon landscape and conserve and protect it. For this, this study compared and analyzed literature including poems and Yusangi, paintings and names of the scenery of the seasons as the landscape texts with the current status. The study result has found that Pilwundae should rehabilitate cultural assets to secure the prospect right and protect neighboring bedrock, Suseong-dong should expand the restoration areas focusing on the projects to make parks which are now being restored, Cheonghwigak and Cheongpunggye areas should restore waterways including historicity which is connected to figures and Seshimdae and Baekun-dong green zone should set the protective area for conservation.
As foreign immigrants increase dramatically, the number of ethnic residential areas also grow rapidly in Korea. Of those foreign workers, the majority is Korean Chinese who can speak Korean language fluently and share common culture as the same ethnicity. As of now they are concentrated on 8 areas in Seoul forming their own community with networks for living and finding job. This paper is to investigate the differences and similarities of Korean Chinese residential areas in Seoul. In order to do that the authors researched two typical areas of Garibong-dong and Jayang-dong. The former is bigger and established earlier, became the symbol of Korean Chinese community. The latter area is relatively small and formed recently. Those staying in Garibong-dong are characterized as; single, moved from main land China directly, small sized residing unit and lower income. The place is mainly for the first incoming people to provide convenient environment for adapting in Seoul. On the other hand those staying in Jayang-dong are characterized as; with families, moved from other parts of Seoul, relatively good residence and higher income. Therefore this place is the second residential area for those who became familiar with living in Seoul. As a result, this paper found the process of differentiation in Korean Chinese communities. This process would be continued as far as foreign immigration continues. Therefore further researches required on more detail process of differentiation for various ethnic groups.
In this paper, I found the leadership core-value of the Sunbai(선배) a man of refined taste. I studied twelve Sunbai considered as a man of refined taste in this research. I focused on the aspect showing common worth among their various abilities and cultural contributions, a point of view of classifying them into one form called Sunbai a man of refined taste. As the core value is the basis of supporting the individual identity, so the leadership core-value is the source and philosophical base of displaying the leadership. Our Sunbai combining character and knowledge show common structure in their personal growth and showing the leadership. It is that they embodied the stage of cultivating themselves(修身, Self), considering the relation with others(齊家, Relation), leading the organization(治國, Team), and making efforts for and having influence on the community(平天下, Community) throughout their own life. I examined how to display the leadership in the four fields on a case by case basis and then constructed the leadership model of the Sunbai a man of refined taste by synthesizing them. As a result, I considered their leadership core-value as the intercommunication and named it 'Leadership of Muaesabang(無碍四方)'. Also, I confirmed that it is still very valuable in these days of aiming at the open society and the harmony of the diverse civilization.
This article is to search the aspects of realization and the characteristics of Gasa, Sijo, Japga among the Korean poetry genre based on Chohan-gosa. Chohan-gosa is a basic literary and historic discourse for the medieval intellectuals. The story had been realized its own literary value at almost every genres such as Chinese literature, novels, Gasa, Japga and Sijo etc. I focused on Gasa, Sijo and Japga among the genres in this article. First of all, I subjected to Wumiin-ga enjoyed in a area of boudoir culture from Gasa based on Chohan-gosa. I catch the meaning that the text has a characteristic that popularized history and normative ideology are mingled in through it. In the case of Sijo, I focused on the Sijo which Xiang Yu is appeared in because Xiang Yu has been most quoted person from people of Chohan-gosa. Xiang Yu was described as a strong man[hero] or a man who part with the beauty Wu. I understand that this point is caused by the theatricalized characteristic of the place where Sijo have been played. For the last time, Japga is played with the characteristic of stimulative reediting of the familiar normative ideology. Chohan-ga is based on contexts of former discourse eohan-yeonui but it was not plagiarized. Chohan-ga was organized for the way which attracted the interest of the public and stimulated the emotion of the public through using popular imagery or intensifying the sorrow.

Cultural assets excavated in historical areas have their own characteristics based on the background of the times, and it can be seen that their patterns and characteristics change little by little according to the history and the flow of the spreading area. Cultural properties excavated in some areas represent the culture of the time and some maintain their intact appearance, but most of them are damaged/lost or divided into parts, and many experts are mobilized to research the composition and repair the damaged parts. The purpose of this research is to learn patterns and characteristics of the past through artificial intelligence neural networks for such restoration research, and to restore the lost parts of the excavated cultural assets based on Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)[1]. The research is a process in which the rest of the damaged/lost parts are restored based on some of the cultural assets excavated based on the GAN. To recover some parts of dammed of cultural asset, through training with the 2D image of a complete cultural asset. This research is focused on how much recovered not only damaged parts but also reproduce colors and materials. Finally, through adopted this trained neural network to real damaged cultural, confirmed area of recovered area and limitation.
Park Wudang formally registered Daesoon Jinrihoe in 1969. While it shares ideas and history with other Jeungsanist groups, this paper argues that its organizational profile is unique. The two major institutional structures, the bonbu (headquarters) and the bangmyeon (branch) have together created space for the rapid development of this Korean new religion. The bonbu is a centralized hierarchy, while the bangmyeon exhibits the strong loyalty and cohesiveness of the clan. Running throughout both structural forms is the lineage concept, which is conceived here as an articulating paradigm able to operate in different organizational forms. This finely-balanced institutional structure makes a major contribution to Daesoon Jinrihoe's ability to fulfill its religious mission. The first side of this balance is the headquarters, which includes the core organization based in Yeoju as well as some outside temples and training centers. All of these were established under the direction of the Lord of Principle, the Dojeon, Park Wudang. Park Wudang also fixed the Dao Constitution, the Doheon, which serves as a blueprint for governance. From the Central Council to the various institutions for propagation, guidance, and auditing, current management practices conform closely to Park Wudang's organization vision. The second aspect of Daesoon Jinrihoe's organization is the branch structure. The larger branches, such as Yeongwol and Geumreung, are complex organizations in their own rights. The paper concludes by characterizing the two major axes of headquarters and branch as organizational types. Using Robert Quinn and Kim Cameron's institutional typology, the paper concludes that the bonbu is a classic centralized hierarchy with its focus on efficiency. The bangmyeon, in contrast, with its high level of group identity and spirit, comes approximates the clan institutional structure.

Yuri Vasilyev - actor, director and drama teacher. Russian meritorious artist, winner of the stage "Medal of Friendship" awarded by Russian President Vladimir Putin; academician of the Petrovsky Academy of Sciences and Arts in Russia, professor of the Russian National Academy of Performing Arts, and professor of the Bavarian Academy of Drama in Munich, Germany. The physiological sense stimulation method based on the improvement of voice, language and motor function of drama actors. On the basis of a systematic understanding of performing arts, Yuri Vasiliev created a unique training method of speech expression and skills. From the complicated art training, we find out the most critical skills for focused training, which we call basic skills training. Throughout the whole training process, Professor Yuri made a clear request for the actor's lines: "action! This is the basis of actors' creation. So action is the key! Action and voice are closely linked. Actor's voice is human voice, human life, human feeling, human experience and disaster. It is also the foundation of creation that actors acquire their own voice. What we are engaged in is pronunciation, breathing, tone and intonation, speed and rhythm, expressiveness, sincerity, stage voice and movement, gesture, all of which are used to train the voice of actors according to the standard of drama. In short, Professor Yuri's training course is not only the training of stage performance and skills, but also contains a rich view of drama and performance. I think, in addition to learning from the means and methods of training, it is more important for us to understand the starting point and training objectives of Professor Yuri's use of these exercises.
Purpose - This paper investigates the implications for facilitating trade in the products of Industry 4.0. To identify the issues caused by the conflicts of policy objectives such as applying the tariff concession under the ITA and imposing the export control, by exploring the case of classification of drones. Design/methodology - We adopted a single case study method to gain a deeper understanding of the complex and multifaceted issues of Customs classification in the context of facilitating trade in the products of Industry 4.0. This study employs the case of drones to explore how these issues of Customs classification affect trade facilitation. We ensured the internal validity of the study by confirming the pattern of the results with the existing theories. Findings - Our main findings can be summarised as follows: the intrinsic nature of the products that converge several technologies causes issues in the classification. The inconsistency in product classification delays customs clearance by hindering the Customs risk-management system that pinpoints products subject to controls. To address the issues, therefore, we proposed fundamental reforms of Customs to empower themselves with management roles. Facilitating trade in the products of Industry 4.0 requires more enhanced Customs capability. Therefore, the reforms should include comprehensive capacity-building activities, such as changes in staff-trainings, promotion system, organisation and culture. Customs also need roles in robust designing of cooperative systems to compensate for the lacks of controls and to ensure concrete risk management for expedited Customs procedures. As well, by equipping the Single Window of Customs with crucial control functions of other ministries, Customs need to support the cooperation. The role of harmonising various preaudits of other ministries with its own is another essential role that ensures predictability of clearance procedure. Originality/value - There are scanty studies in the field of knowledge about what obstacles exist and what solution is available in the course of transforming to 'Industry 4.0'. In filling out the gap of knowledge, this paper is of academic significance in that it applies the research theory on trade facilitation for the specific cases of classification of the product of Industry 4.0 to verify its effectiveness and to extend the subject of the studies to the scope of Industry 4.0. It also has practical significance in that the results have provided implications for reforms of Customs procedures to facilitate trade in the products of Industry 4.0.
