This paper presents a methodology for spatial extrapolation of wind-induced pressure time series from a corner bay to roof locations on a low building away from the corner through the application of proper orthogonal decomposition (POD). The approach is based on the concept that pressure time series in the far field can be approximated as a linear combination of a series of modes and principal coordinates, where the modes are extracted from the full roof pressure field of an aerodynamically similar building and the principal coordinates are calculated from data at the leading corner bay only. The reliability of the extrapolation for uplift time series in nine bays for a cornering wind direction was examined. It is shown that POD can extrapolate reasonably accurately to bays near the leading corner, given the first three modes, but the extrapolation degrades further from the corner bay as the spatial correlations decrease.

In this study, a novel group-indexed orthogonal frequency division multiplexing index modulation (OFDM-IM) scheme is proposed to achieve a tradeoff between spectral efficiency (SE) and bit-error-rate (BER) performance. In the proposed scheme, the total subcarriers in a group are divided into subgroups, and additional bits are transmitted by subgroup indexing, unlike the conventional OFDM-IM scheme, which uses index bits to select active subcarriers. With the proposed scheme, the additional degree of freedom provided by the number of active subgroups selected provides a tradeoff between spectral efficiency and BER performance. Decoding is performed in steps to reduce computional complexity in the decoder design. Simulaton results show that the number of active subgroups selected influences the proposed scheme's performance in terms of energy efficiency, spectral efficiency, and BER performance.
Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) where all users share the entire time and frequency resource has paid attention as one of the key technologies to enhance the spectral efficiency and the total throughput. Nevertheless, as the number of users and SIC error increase, the inter-user interference and the residual interference due to the SIC error also increase, resulting in performance degradation. In order to mitigate the performance degradation, we propose grouping-based NOMA system. In the proposed scheme, all users are divided into two groups based on the distance between the BS and each user, where one utilizes the first half of the bandwidth and the other utilizes the rest in the orthogonal manner. On the other hand, users in each group share the spectrum in the non-orthogonal manner. Grouping users can reduce both the inter-user interference and residual interference due to the SIC error, so it can outperform conventional NOMA system, especially in case that the number of users and the SIC error increase. Based on that, we also present the hybrid operation of the conventional and the proposed NOMA systems. In numerical results, the total throughput of the proposed NOMA systems is compared with that of the conventional NOMA systems with regard to the number of users and SIC error. It is confirmed that the proposed NOMA system outperforms the conventional NOMA system as the number of users and the SIC error increase.

In this paper, we proposed and evaluated ARAH(Adaptive Random Access algorithm for HIPERLAN/2) to improve system performance. In this paper, HIPERLAN/2 uses OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) modulation scheme to select appropriate PHY mode by Radio Channel Quality, Proposed the ARAH scheme uses these 7 PHY mode when mobile terminal determines the RCH(Random CHannel) number for random access. In this paper, these 7 PHY mode divided into two group, good and bad, and will be given high priority to mobile terminals which are in a good group. In the result of performance evaluation. ARAH algorithm, ARAH has a better performance of throughput and delay than existing algorithm.
We associate binary codes to polynomials over fields of characteristic two and show that the binary Golay codes are associated to the Mathieu group polynomials in characteristics two. We give two more polynomials whose Galois group in $M_{12}$ but different self-orthogonal binary codes are associated. Also, we find a family of $M_{24}$-coverings which includes previous ones.
The polytope of tristochastic tensors of degree three, the Latin polytope, has two kinds of extreme points. Those that are at a maximum distance from the barycenter of the polytope correspond to Latin squares. The remaining extreme points are said to be short. The aim of the paper is to determine the geometry of these short extreme points, as they relate to the Latin squares. The paper adapts the Latin square notion of an intercalate to yield the new concept of a cross-intercalate between two Latin squares. Cross-intercalates of pairs of orthogonal Latin squares of degree three are used to produce the short extreme points of the degree three Latin polytope. The pairs of orthogonal Latin squares fall into two classes, described as parallel and reversed, each forming an orbit under the isotopy group. In the inverse direction, we show that each short extreme point of the Latin polytope determines four pairs of orthogonal Latin squares, two parallel and two reversed.

In this paper, we consider a two-way relay non-orthogonal multiple access (TWR-NOMA) system with residual hardware impairments (RHIs) and channel estimation errors (CEEs), where two group users exchange their information via the decode-and-forward (DF) relay by using NOMA protocol. To evaluate the performance of the considered system, exact analytical expressions for the outage probability of the two groups users are derived in closed-form. Moreover, the asymptotic outage behavior in the high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regime is examined and the diversity order is derived and discussed. Numerical simulation results verify the accuracy of theoretical analyses, and show that: i) RHIs and CEEs have a deleterious effects on the outage probabilities; ii) CEEs have significant effects on the performance of the near user; iii) Due to the RHIs, CEEs, inter-group interference and intra-group interference, there exists error floors for the outage probability.

EPS used in lost foam casting elastic modulus is extremely low. So it is necessary to derive machining conditions for effective cutting. Therefore this study were analyzed end-milling machining conditions to affecting the surface roughness of EPS foam. The machining conditions were set to depth, feed, and RPM at 3-level. And 18experimental conditions were derived using mixed orthogonal array. The most important condition for surface roughness is RPM. In addition, RPM machining condition range test that can realize surface roughness less than $10{\mu}m$ was performed. he range of RPM conditions is more than 15,000. However the range of RPM conditions is a condition that is difficult to use in actual field. In the future variance analysis and experiments are needed to derive the range of machining conditions available.
Diffuse optical wireless (DOW) systems have the advantage that they do not require point-to-point siting so one transmitter can communicate with several receivers. In this paper, we investigate multiple access scheduling methods for downlink orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) in diffuse optical wireless networks. Unlike the radio frequency (RF) channel, the DOW channel has low-pass filter characteristics and so requires different scheduling methods than those developed for the RF channel. Multi-user diversity orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) systems nominate a cluster of subcarriers with the largest signal-to-noise-ratio for transmission. However, in a DOW channel, most users would choose the lowest frequency clusters of subcarriers. To remedy this problem, we make two proposals. The first is to use a variable cluster size across the subcarriers; the lower frequency clusters will have fewer subcarriers while the higher frequency clusters will have more subcarriers. This will equalize the capacity of the clusters. The second proposal is to randomize a user's cluster selection from a group of clusters satisfying a minimum threshold. Through simulation it is shown that combining these strategies can increase the throughput while ensuring a fair distribution of the available spectrum.
A decode-and-forward two-way relay system benefits from orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) and relay transmission. In this paper, we consider a decode-and-forward two-way relay system over OFDMwith two strategies: A joint subcarrier matching algorithm and a power allocation algorithm operating with a total power constraint for all subcarriers. The two strategies are studied based on average capacity using numerical analysis by uniformly allocating power constraints for each subcarrier matching group. An optimal subcarrier matching algorithm is proposed to match subcarriers in order of channel power gain for both transmission sides. Power allocation is defined based on equally distributing the capacity of each hop in each matching group. Afterward, a modified water-filling algorithm is also considered to allocate the power among all matching groups in order to increase the overall capacity of the network. Finally, Monte Carlo simulations are completed to confirm the numerical results and show the advantages of the joint subcarrier matching, power allocation and water filling algorithms, respectively.
