  • 1. Causes of SSHL are deficiency of kidney, pathogen of wind, meridian of soyang and sutaeyang, and pathogen of fire. 2. Four methods are used to treat SSHL, heath cultivation, herbal medicine for internal use, external remedy and acumoxatherapy. 3. Meridians, those are related with treatment of SSHL, are Kidney Meridian(Chok-soyin), Triple energizer Meridian(Shou-soyang), Gallbladder Meridian(Chok-soyang), Large intestine Meridian(Shou-yangmyong) and Small intestine Meridian(Shou-taeyang). 4. Pokrong, Jolrong and Gualrong, those are appeared some oriental documentary records, are not same with SSHL correctly. 5. In oriental medically, Yirong contains SSHL except slow progress. To teat SSHL, it is helpful to investigate method according to each symptoms and conditions in oriental medical documentary records.

  • 1. Vertigo and dizziness is also called as Mok-hyun, Hyun-mo, Pung-hyun, Du-pung-hyun-un, Du-sun. 2. Causes and processes of Vertigo and dizziness are mainly divided into external infection and internal damage. Wind, cold, dampness and summer heat are included in the one and in the other, vital energy and blood deficiency, insufficiency of the liver and kidney, retention of phlegm and fluid, emotional disorder and so on. 3. Symptoms of vertigo and dizziness are disequilibrium, nausea, inability of hearing, vomiting, sweating and syncope. 4. Treating of vertigo and dizziness are recovery of vital energy and blood deficiency, strenthening of insufficiency of the liver and kidney, drying of dampness and removing of phlegm.

  • 1. So-gal IS also called as so-jung, So-dan, Pe-so, Jung-so. Gyuk-so. 2. Cause of So-gal is impairment of Jin-Aek. induced by mal intake. stress, overstrain, intoxication, aging. The process is done by Cho-yeol. 3. Symptoms of So-gal is classified m to three categories Sang-So stands for polydipsia, Jung-So stands for polyphagia and weight loss, and Ha-So stands for polyuria. 4. In treating of So-gal, Chung-Hwa Bo-eum Bo-yang is the main principle. The fundamental basis of treating So-gal is Chi-shin. 5. It is not easy to perfectly classify symptoms of So-gal into three categories Therefore further inquiry is required on classification methods of So-gal.

  • 1. According to causes of attack and symptoms, tinnitus is divided into two categories; deficiency and excess. Causes of excess syndrome of tinnitus were wind fire in the liver and gallbladder, phlegm fire, blood stagnation, and heat in meridian system and the causes of deficiency syndrome of tinnitus were qi deficiency or blood deficiency after an illness or delivery, yin deficiency of liver and kidney, and deficiency of sea of the marrow. 2. Tinnitus was related to the vicera and bowels, especially to liver, gallbladder and urinary bladder. 3. In regard of method of treatment, tonify kidney, nourish heart, clear the liver and discharge heat are used according to visera and bowel theory. Clear phlegm and downbear fire are used for phlegm fire. Tonify spleen and kidney is used for ancestral vessel deficiency. Dispel wind and dissipate fire can be used according to theory of five elements' motion and six kinds of natural factors. 4. The basal meridian of acupuncture and moxibustion treatment were the channels of Shaoyang.. 5. Regarding neuropsychiatric aspect of tinnitus, sudden anger and depression of mind were the main mechanism of disease and liver fire was the main cause. The prescriptions for neuropsychiatric tinnitus were Dangguiyonghuehwan, and Yongdamsagantang.

  • 1. Hiccup is usually named as Hae yek, Hyel yek, Yel yek. 2. The cause of hiccup are stomach cold, rising of stomach fire, stagnation of vital energy and stagnationof phlegm, yang deficiency of spleen and kideny, deficiency of stomach-yin, or mental disorder due to the stagnation of phlegm, dyspepsia, depressed vital energy. 3. Vicera and Bowels related with Hiccup are lung, spleen, stomach, and heart. 4. The treatment of hiccup are dispel cold by warming the middle warmer due to stomach cold, expel the heat-evil to loose hollow-organ due to rising up of stomach yin, regulate vital energy and dissipate phlegm due to stagnation of vital energy and stagnation of phlegm, warm and recuperate both of spleen and kidney due to spleen and kidney yang deficiency, nourish the stomach to promote the production of body fluid due to deficiency of stomach yin. 5. Regarding neuropsychiatric aspect of hiccup, qi movement disorder was the main mechanism of disease and qi depression was the main cause. The prescriptions for neuropsychiatric hiccup were Mokhwangjogisan Pyunjakjunghyangsan, Daegwakhyangsan, and Haeaedan.

  • Concept of Cho was used both etiologically and symptomatically at the same time. Hwa was the main cause of diseases derived from Cho, and its damage is on Jin-Eum. Cho is one of the members of Euk-Eum, which belongs to Whae-In, but it is also recognized as pathogen of internal dysfunction, therefore symptoms can be classified into two groups. Whae-cho-zheung and Nae-cho-zheung. Organs related to Cho are lung, stomach, intestine, kidney, liver and gall Bladder. Symptoms of Whae-cho usually combines Pyo-zheung, manifesting on lung and skin, whereas symptoms of Nae-cho combines Rhee-zheung, manifesting on internal organs and tissues. In treating of Cho, Ja-eum-yang-hyul-chung-yeolis the main principle. Chung-Yun-Pe-Weis used in Whae-cho-zheung and Sang-cho-byung, while Yu-Yang-Gan-Shin is used in Nae-cho-zheung and Ha-cho-byung.
