  • This study was carried out to investigate moisture sorption and desorption characteristics followed by tobacco type. Experiments were performed at various temperature(5, 15, 25, 40 $^{\circ}C$) and relative humidity range (11~84 %) controlled by saturated salt solution. Regression equation was obtained to predict equilibrium moisture according to various relative humidity, temperature and tobacco types. The obtained regression equation showed high $R^2$(above 0.95) and predicted accurate equilibrium moisture. Equilibrium moisture contents declines in the following order when a relative humidity is 50 % or above: expanded stem, flue-cured, expanded tobacco, reconstituted tobacco, USA flue-cured, orient, burley. To maintain 13 % moisture of each tobacco type in the range of 5~40 $^{\circ}C$ it is recommendable to control relative humidity 49~56 % for expanded stem, 50~57 % for flue-cured, 54~61 % for USA flue-cured, 56~60 % for reconstituted tobacco, 57~62 % for expanded tobacco, 58~64 % for orient and 58~65 % for burley, respectively. It means that the relative humidity of each tobacco type should be differently controlled to maintain the same moisture under the same temperature. In the range of 5~25 $^{\circ}C$, the lower temperature showed the higher equilibrium moisture content.

  • Purpose : The aim of this study was to investigate objective evaluation of dysmenorrhea. Methods : The study was conducted by 37 articles from year 1979 to 2003 on dysmenorrhea, scale and questionaire. The articles was limited by English, Human, and Clinical trial Results : 1. The 37 articles on dysmenorrhea evaluated by scale or questionaire have been published from 1979. There are 27 articles of randomized controlled trial among them. 2. Scale or question has confidence in the assessment of dysmenorrhea. 3. In the initial stage the article on dysmenorrhea was assessed by only one unidimentional scale. However in recent articles multidimensional scales are applied frequently. Moreover it is the modern trend that point scale such as 100mm VAS and MVRS(multidimensional verbal rating scale) are applied together in one article on dysmenorrhea. Conclusion : It can be suggested that scale or questionaire be the method for objective evaluation of dysmenorrhea.

  • Objectives: This study was to investigate the effect of high frequency electro-acupuncture (EA) at $ST_{36}$ acupoint on the Freund's Complete Adjuvant (FCA)-induced arthritis in rats. Methods : Arthritis was induced by intradermal injection of FCA into base of tail. Experimental groups were divided into 4 groups; Normal, Control, $ST_{36}$ and Non-Acupoint (NA). $ST_{36}$ group was treated by 120Hz EA at $ST_{36}$ acupoint. Body weight, paw edema volume and ankle joint thickness were measured after treatment. And we investigated the effects of 120Hz EA via WBC count, segmen neurophil, lymphocyte, PGE2 assay and NADPH-d histochemistry. Results and Conclusions : The mean of body weight and ankle joint thickness of $ST_{36}$ group was increased compared with control group. The mean of paw edema volume, WBC count, segment neutrophil and lymphocyte of were not decreased with control group. The mean of PGE2 concentration ($1,851.00{\pm}160.11$) and NADPH-d positive neurons ($13.12{\pm}1.23$) were changed significantly (p

  • This study examined the relationship between aminotransferase and DITI in the diagnosis of Liver Qi stagnation. An analysis was performed on the thermographic findings of 17 subjects with abnormally high aminotransferase value and 26 with no problem in blood sample at the Kangnam Korean Hospital, KyungHee University, Seoul, Korea, from March 2003 to May 2003. The body temperature was assessed by DITI thermographic measurements were performed on Rt. and Lt. subcostal area. Value of ${\delta}T$ and absolute value of ${\delta}T$ were tested by Mann-whitney U test. The absolute value of ${\delta}T$ was statistically significant(P<0.00). The ${\delta}T$ was also significant(P<0.01) and the temperature of Rt. area was higher than that of Lt. area. It is believed that DITI may be a favorable alternative to the diagnosis of Liver Qi stagnation.

  • In the present age dominate by both cer-taingty of 1% and uncertainty of 99% 'Fuzzy thinking' of Bart Kosko that is the way to solve the problems by the scientific way through a worldview of Buddhism or Taoism greatly prevails around the world over 'Lateral greatly prevails around the world over 'Lateral thinking' and the authenticity or the right and-wrong of the uncertainty which is the thinking way to find the answer of the problems of illogical way of Edward de Beno against the western vertical thinking were Concurrently fashion designers over the world also adopt the oriental elements. But there exist differences of thoughts between the orient and the occident. And they have dif-ferent thinking way of aestheticism and references of the value on the beauty. Not only beauty but the view through the mind as intuitional thought in which not only the rec-ognition of sense but also the rationalism and the naturalness play key role. The aesthetic sense in the orient contains both the truth and virtue. 2) The beauty of the mean It's from the thought of neutralization of Confucius. The mean or moderation state which in harmony with ethical virtue and aes-thetic beauty is the ideal and is the ultimate. Therefore the thought of Confucian is the creativity in which the balance and the har-mony is most important. Fashion design is also one of the representation of the mean because the spirit of the designer is harmonized for-mlessly with the object of the model of the fashion design. 2) The beauty of skillfulness It indicates the Taoism of Lao-tzu and Chuangtzu. It takes a super-artistic declar-ation that human can feel and recognize the color of colorlessness the sound of sound-lessness and the taste of tastelessness. The thought of arts affected by Taoism is 'ad-vanced age' called the beauty of skillfulness. The view of arts of lao-tzu takes the beauty of cosmos and the nature as a standard. Es-pecially the beauty of inactivity is recognized by the linkage between the beauty and the ugliness. And these things appear in fashion design as a design element such as humor or exaggeration. 3) The beauty of non-dualism It is thought of Buddhism that all evil passions of worry occur form the opposition in dualism. Finally this thought leads to that everything is consistent and truth is only one from the point of view that virtue and vice has on linkage that is 'no virtues no vices' and 'one with two, two, with one, one is not two' A big tendency like this became the root forma-tion of the thought of the oriental arts. 3. Characteristics of the oriental aesthetic sense on the present fashion design 1) The formation of the fashion design on the oriental elements In the picture-incantation which was a representation of an era when the thought of 'cosmic dual forces' dominated the basic polygons of 'a circle square triangle' means both 'one two three' and 'the negative positive mean' of cosmic elements. From this point of view the was of planner cutting in the Orient is dif-ferent from that of the Occidental which is in three-dimensional. The planner polygon type of the cut-pieces comes to have the meaning of the three-dimension when they consist of a suit that has the combination of each cut-piece. This shows the consistency with the principle of cosmos creation of Taoism that one is two two is three and three is every-thing. 2) The coloring and the symbolic represen-tation of the fashion design on the orien-tal elements The sense on the colors in the Orient from the thought of 'the cosmic dual forces and the five elements' is not the experi-enced from the knowledge but contains the consideration of philosophy Five-primary-color representing compass directions Blue(East) Red(South) Yellow(Center) White (West) and Black (North) is called ' the posi-tive' for this five-primary-color secondary-color which comes from the compound of the primary colors is called 'the negative' The thought of 'the cosmic dual forces and the five elements' is also an theory containing the natural order of the cos-mos and this shows the perceptional differ-ence that they are not conceptual but to be recognized and fell directly. A thought of Buddhism which is 'Colors are colorlessness and Clolorlessness are color's proves that. 3) The pattern and symbolic representation of the fashion design on the oriental elements The pattern as a visual style is a figure of symbolic representation which adopt the mental and physical world of human and are the compo-sition of artistic revelation of the human nature and the religous thought of incantation. Es-pecially the symbolic representation of the oriental thought of Confusion. Buddhism and Taoism There are patterns such as plants aminals the oriental four gods and geometry. From the above it's the time toward the 21'th century when the world is constructing one global area and one historical zone. And the exotic mood of the Orient represented in the fashion which doesn't make the common feeling in general does not cease to develop only to express the visual modeling but also adopts the thought religion and the art which are the root of the Orientail and contains inherent willing of modeling.

  • A view of the Orientalism that sees the Orient as the inferior Other, characterized by the heterogenic, eccentric, backward, and passive features, has been internalized in the unconsciousness of Westerners. 'Orientalism' which is the cultural device and the system of discourse to put Asia in the fixed frame of dominance was the West European centered term, designating Southwest Asia including South Europe and North Africa as Orient, and contained the idea that non-Western society could progress only with the acceptance of Western civilization. Accordingly, it is need to use this term deliberately. In addition, even though the Asian Look of the West, borrowing the images and costume styles of Asia has lost the original mentality of Asia, it was not initiated from the perception that sees Asia as the inferior Other. Since the Asian Ethnic Look is the Western costume, borrowing the image of Orient and style by being fascinated by Oriental Aesthetics, the attributes of it are different from those of Orientalism. Therefore, it is not appropriate to designate the Asian Ethnic Look as 'Orientalism Fashion' or 'Oriental Look' except for some eccentric manipulation of Asia costume and image. Instead, it is desirable to exchange the term 'Asian Look', 'Asian Fashion', and 'Asian Ethnic Look' upon occasions or the name of individual nation or region can be referred to as preferred alternatives. Today, Asia including Korea is taking the initiative in the World Fashion as one of central axes of World Fashion Industry, and cannot be interpreted from the perspective of West Centrism. Now, it's time to dissolve the dichotomous prejudice of the West centrism on Asia's own strength.

  • It has been conjectured that, on a compact orient able manifold M, a critical point of the total scalar curvature functional restricted the space of unit volume metrics of constant scalar curvature is Einstein. In this paper we show that if a manifold is a 3-dimensional warped product, then (M, g) cannot be a critical point unless it is isometric to the standard sphere.

  • In this paper, the visco-Da-Rios equation; (0.1) ($$\frac{{\partial}{\gamma}}{{\partial}t}=\frac{{\partial}{\gamma}}{{\partial}s}{\bigwedge}\frac{D}{ds}\frac{{\partial}{\gamma}}{{\partial}s}+{\nu}\frac{{\partial}{\gamma}}{{\partial}s}$$) is investigated on 3-dimensional complete orientable Riemannian manifolds. The global existence of solution is discussed by trans-forming (0.1) into a cubic nonlinear Schrodinger equation for complete orient able Riemannian 3-manifolds of constant curvature.
