The Relation of Organization Structure, Organization Culture and Organization Conflict of University Hospital Staff Members (대학병원 종사자의 조직구조, 조직문화에 따른 조직갈등의 관계에 대한연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of hospital organization structure, organization culture, organization conflict and the interrelation of influential factor in organization conflict. The data for this study were collected through a self-administered survey with a structured delivered to 755 subjects including several nursing staff members, administration staff members and medical technicians at six hospitals. The structural equation model was used to examine the relation of organization structure, organization culture and organization conflict. The results of the analysis in this study were as follows. First, organization structure had a positive influence on organization conflict, especially in terms of complexity and centralization. But, formalization had a negative influence on organization conflict. Second, organization culture had a positive influence on organization conflict, especially in terms of group culture, developmental culture, and hierarchical culture. But, group culture had a negative influence on organization conflict. Third, organization structure had positive influences, especially on organization culture complexity, centralization, and formalization. But, centralization had negative influences too.

  • People have relatively continuous and stable characteristic and it can help understand personal attitude and behavior. As individual has individual personality and society has culture, in case of organization, there is organization culture that means unique cultural characteristic. And as if we need to know culture of that society to understand individual, we need to know organization culture of that organization to understand any organization. The reason why organization culture is acknowledged as modern theory of business management is-modern company has proposed management innovation, organization activation, company transformation, and company reprogramming as management strategy to cope actively with various and quickly changing environment that modern company face-that organization culture and management innovation, that is, the concept of new business management is highlighted for means and tools to solve such problems. Seeing contemporary situation, although organization culture of small company is being improved by management innovation, cause and effect that organization culture affect technique innovation still insufficient. The meaning of this research is, through a good example of organization culture, providing reason that efficient organization culture affect technique innovation of small company(medium and small company) and making people understand why this effect occur. Through this, I want to provide strategy and policy implication of company.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between mission-oriented Command, organization efficiency, organization culture of 626 field officers in JFMU. Firstly. the study found that decision making in the relationship between mission-oriented command and organization efficiency had negative effect on job satisfaction. Planning and trust lead to positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment and no significance in self decision. Secondly, mission-oriented command may differ depending on the types of organization culture and organization culture has positive effect on job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Thirdly, mission-oriented command has some effect which derives from its impact on organization efficiency that also effects rational culture and rank hierarchy culture. These study results suggest different measures in terms of practice and policy. Firstly. within the military organization, precise communication will lead to job satisfaction without unnecessary overload of communication. Also. we have rationale culture, agreement culture and rank hierarchy culture forming our organization culture. There is a need to apply elements of mission-oriented command depending on the types of organization culture. Secondly, to maximize organization performance through mission-oriented command, we have to strengthen the rationale and rank hierarchy cultures and especially introduce development culture which should be established within the military organization.

  • This study empirically analyzed that the higher the organization culture and organization effectiveness of a tax administration organization, the higher the organization commitment and organization identification. It is significant in that there hasn't been a study that analyzed empirically using tax officials as the study subjects up until now. The results from the analysis showed that organization culture and organization effectiveness affect organization commitment and organization identification significantly. Specifically, the results showed that the higher the organization culture of the tax administration organization, the higher the emotional attachment to the organization by the tax officials; and the higher the organization effectiveness, the higher the organization commitment and organization identification. From the results, it could be confirmed that the organization culture and organization effectiveness have positive effects on increasing taxpayers' satisfaction levels with the service. Therefore, it could be known that the organization culture of the tax administration organization affects directly the organization effectiveness, and that it is an important factor that improves the organization commitment and organization identification of the employees.

Relation of Empowerment and Organization Attachment with the Organization Culture of Security Organization (시큐리티조직의 조직문화와 임파워먼트 및 조직애착도의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to establish the relationship of empowerment and organization attachment with the organization culture of security organization. This study is based by setting the security organization employed in security firms in the capital area(Seoul) in 2012 as the parent population and using the purposive sampling method to analyze a total amount of 280 examples. The frequency analysis, analysis on primary factors, reliability analysis, multiple regression analysis, path analysis methods using SPSSWIN 18.0 were used in analysis. The reliability of the survey showed a Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ value of over 0.690. The results are like the following. First, the organization culture of security organization affect empowerment. Thus, the more a practical development culture is settled, the more the capability of self-determinism, meaningfulness, and effect is amplified. Moreover, the more a consensual culture is established, the more the capability of self-determinism is enhanced, and the more a hierarchical culture is established, the more the meaningfulness is enhanced. Second, the organization culture of security organization affect organization attachment. Thus, the continuous normative attachment is enhanced when a more hierarchical culture is established. Moreover, emotional attachment is enhanced when a more practical development culture is established. Third, the empowerment of security organization affects organization attachment. Thus, the continuous normative attachment is decreased when one's capability of self-determinism is more lacking. However, the continuous normative attachment is higher when the meaningfulness and effect is enhanced. Moreover, emotional attachment is enhanced when meaningfulness is increased. Fourth, the organization culture of security organization directly/indirectly affects empowerment and organization attachment. Thus, empowerment is an important mediating factor between organization culture and organization attachment.

Relationships among Organizational Commitment, Job Satisfaction, and Learning Organization Culture in One Korean Private Organization

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the relationships among organizational commitment, job satisfaction, and learning organization culture. This study was conducted in five sub-organizations of one Korean conglomerate company. One thousand employees were randomly and proportionately selected, with 669 useable cases obtained, for a response rate of 67%. The organizational commitment instrument used from the "affective, continuance, and normative commitment" scale (ACNCS) of Allen and Meyer (1990). The "Dimensions of Learning Organization Questionnaire" of Watkins and Marsick (1997) was used to measure learning organization culture. The short form MSQ (Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire), developed by Weiss, Dawis, England, and Lofquist (1967), was the third instrument used. Descriptive statistics, correlational statistics, and inferential statistics (ANOVA and t-tests) were used. Organizational commitment (except for continuance) is moderately and positively related to job satisfaction and moderately and positively related to learning organization culture. In addition, learning organization culture is weakly to moderately and positively related to job satisfaction. No differences by age were found. Four-year college graduates are more likely to have higher creating continuous learning opportunities in learning organization culture than graduate school degree holders. Males are likely to have higher affective and continuance organizational commitment than females. Employees working in R&D, Engineering, and Manufacturing (REM) are likely to have higher continuance organizational commitment than do other types of jobs. Employees are more likely to have higher learning organization culture and job satisfaction than assistant managers. Assistant managers have higher continuance organizational commitment than managers. Managers generally have higher organizational commitment, learning organization culture, job satisfaction than assistant managers. They also have higher learning organization culture than employees. Employees who had worked for less than four years in their current job and organization have higher promoting inquiry and dialogue in learning organization culture than those who have worked for ten years or more. Employees in the insurance organization have higher affective organizational commitment, learning organization culture, and job satisfaction than those of the other organizations. Finally, employees of the electronic company have higher continuance organizational commitment in learning organization culture than those of other companies. In summary, this research enables CEOs and HRD and HRM practitioners to view organizational commitment, learning organization culture, and job satisfaction as important variables in exploring diverse ranges of topics related to the workplace. And then, they can diversely apply their management, interventions and practices to fit these diverse characteristics.

The Influence of Nurses' Organizational Culture on Their Job Satisfaction and Organization Commitment at the Public Health Center (보건소 간호조직문화가 직무만족과 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study examines how the types of organizational culture at a public health center affect job satisfaction and organization commitment of nurses. Method: The study selected 139 nurses from six public health centers located in G city, J province as subjects. The data was collected from April 1 to May 31 in 2008. Result: In regard to type of organizational culture had significant correlation with both job satisfaction and organization commitment, job satisfaction and organization commitment also showed high correlation. Concerning type of organizational culture, two variables of affiliated culture and innovative culture explained 26.3% of job satisfaction and 29.3% of organization commitment. Conclusion: The job satisfaction and organization commitment of nurses varied according to types of organizational culture of a public health center, and showed high correlation. The more affiliated and innovative the organizational culture was, the higher job satisfaction and organization commitment turned out. Therefore, it is advisable to develop a strategy that systematically creates a affiliated and innovative organizational culture that pays attention to goal achievement of the nurse.

Result of research, A total effect to affect regarding organization commitment, there is most a lot of revolutionized leadership, affected that organization culture appeared group culture of an organization, exchanged leadership, development culture. A leader of a social welfare organization shall improve self-participation and business efficiency voluntary of an employee through revolutionized leadership, in order to improve organization commitment of an employee, this leadership types had to improve organization commitment of an employee as group culture of an organization.

Analysis of Relationship between Nursing Organization Culture and Organizational Commitment (간호사가 지각하는 간호조직문화와 조직몰입간의 관계 분석)

  • Nursing organization culture is common patterns of believing, thinking and behaving resulted from a variety of experiences and interaction nurses in the same setting. This study was performed based on the assumption of existence of different subcultures within meta-culture, to identify the differences of subculture among 5 nursing units and to analyze the relationship between nursing organization culture and organizational commitment In this study, two kinds of instruments were used. One was the instrument of nursing organization culture developed by researcher through literature review and interview with nurses. The other one was Mowday's Organizational Commitment Questionnaire to measure organizational commitment of nurses. Both of them were structured with 5 scale. The answers were analyzed using SPSS program. The results were as follows : The meta-culture of the nursing organization culture was the people stable culture. There were significant differences in people development culture and people stable culture among 5 nursing units and all 5 units had different culture score. Especially, emergency room had strong development culture, and stable culture was dominant in operating room. Other units except emergency room and operating room had high scores in people stable culture than other culture types, but revealed different distribution. There were significant differences of the nursing organizational culture types -people development, task development, people stable, task stable-among 5 units. Four types of nursing organizational culture consisted of competing values in one organization. Nurses's organizational commitments were sign ificantly different among the units. The score per ceived by nurses who work in emergency room, operating room and leu was higher commitment score than that of medical/surgical nursing units Nurse's commitment to nursing organization was also related to total work period as nurse in any setting and work period in this hospital. Organizational commitment was significantly different among the nursing culture types, indicating that the scores of developmental culture were higher than stable culture. In conclusion, there were many different subcultures in nursing organization. In subculture, the organizational commitment was different. Therefore, the change of nursing organization culture or nursing unit culture needs to be considered to hire, give orientation, teach. and reallocate nurses efficiently. Research on nursing organization culture using both qualitative and quantitative method needs to be further considered. Furthermore, the strategy in nursing organization culture for nursing administrator to manage human resources efficiently and to change nursing unit effectively, needs to be developed.

The Effect of Marine Sports Experiences and Activities on Sociality and Organization Culture (해양스포츠 체험 및 활동이 사회성과 조직문화에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this research is to clarify the influence and difference of the marine sports experiences and activities on the sociality and organization culture and to analyze the relationship between sociality and organization culture according to the experience and activities of the marine sports to suggest the basis for the development for those who experience the marine sports experiences and activities in their sociality and organization culture. To achieve this, teenagers and adults living in Busan and Gyeongnam as of March, 2013 are surveyed and 428 questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS/PC Windows Ver18.0. The conclusions of this study are as follows. Firstly, in terms of gender, the men show higher levels in the difference of the sociality and organization culture and in terms of age, the difference is found. Secondly, in terms of sociality according to the marine sports experience and activities, those who experience them show higher levels. Thirdly, in terms of the influence of sociality on organization culture according to the marine sports experience and activities, activities and sociality give positive influence to organization culture in case of experienced people.
