Knowledge Management Factors Affecting Cooperative Organizational Culture Regarding Knowledge Sharing of Members in the Hospital Organization (병원조직구성원들의 지식공유에 대한 협조적 조직문화에 영향을 주는 지식경영 요인)

  • This study attempted to examine what effect knowledge management factors have on cooperative organizational culture regarding knowledge sharing depending on workplace types and occupations in order to seek for solution to increase efficiency and effects of knowledge management in the hospital organization. Key findings are as follows: For members of the hospital organization, the higher their recognition was in relation to 'concern and support of chief executive officer for knowledge management', and 'problem solution by specialists or superior in the organization and acquisition on the task knowledge', the more they worked as factors exerting positive effects on 'cooperative organizational culture regarding knowledge sharing'. And influence factors were different depending on workplace types and occupation.

  • The User Interface (UI) in the company is more important than ever. But the application of UI for the industry use is restricted by various constraints such as delivery, technical limitation, etc. User Interface designers in the company have thought how to set up the UI organization, how to define identity and goal, how to communicate with other teams, what is the best UI process, and many other issues. In this paper, the author discuss the practical issues arisen when User Interface organization is formed and managed based on the mobile phone manufacture's perspective. The pros and cons of location of UI organization, advanced UI organization, UI member formation, UI role, UI output, UI evaluation, and understanding of UI in the society and company are discussed. This discussion will help UI designers in industry to set up and manage UI organization.

  • This study was to examine ongoing conflicts between employees and determine the level of conflict management strategies to establish a more effective management in hotel restaurants. The results of this research show, first, conflicts exalted collective organization; the more comflicts, the lower absorption or validity of the organization. Second, the lower increase in personal conflicts, the better the validity of the organization. Therefore, hypotheses in this study can be seen as acceptable. In this study, based on the future management of hotel restaurants, there should be private groups to resolve conflicts through the organizations which can increase the validity of the organizations.

  • Recently, the green roofs market is active, but most constructors use former waterproofing method. So there are a lot of problems in the sub-organization of the green roofs system. I studied to use the block panel for the sub-organization of the green roofs system and I tested about the effectiveness of waterproofing, root barrier, drainage, and insulation. I have not found any problems about waterproofing, root barrier, drainage, and insulation in the results. The sub-organization of the green roofs system using the block panel is effective for waterproofing, root barrier, drainage, and insulation. We can apply it to the dried and unified execution technology.

  • A deeper understanding of how organizations behave as social complex adaptive systems is needed. In this paper we demonstrate how the Leadership Invigorating Flows of Energies model can help with this understanding. The model highlights the role of emergent leadership as a force encouraging the creation, diffusion, and utilization of knowledge through self-organizing mechanisms. We illustrate our approach by examining Wikipedia and show how it can be described as a social CAS. Our analysis of Wikipedia describes how emerging intrapreneurship behaviors result in dynamic flows of knowledge and self-organizing feedback mechanisms across the organization. We provide implications for organization studies and present evidence to support claims made by advocates of complexity theory. We conclude by proposing that Wikipedia can be seen as a new form of organization, and finish with a brief note highlighting a possible way forward.

An Empirical Study on the Structural Relationship among Gender Discrimination, Organization Commitment and Organizational Citizenship Behavior in the Korean Shipping Firms

  • The objective of this study is to empirically investigate the effect of gender discrimination to female workers in Korean shipping firms on the their organization commitment and organizational citizenship behavior. In carrying out the objective of this study, two hypotheses about the structural relationship among gender discrimination, organization commitment and organizational citizenship behaviors in the Korean shipping firms are established after reviewing the related studies. Survey questionnaires are distributed and analyzed to test the reliability and validity of the response. Also, a structural equation model is established and the model is analyzed by AMOS. In conclusion, there are a negative effect of gender discrimination on female workers' organizational commitment and a positive effect of their commitment on OCB. Through this paper, the comprehensive understanding of the structural relationship among gender discrimination, organization commitment and organizational citizenship behavior would be promoted.

  • We have started the field test of the VOD service since April 1996, in Huis Ten Bosch which is one of the famous theme parks in Japan. In three years, total about 100 thousands people have used this VOD system and evaluated it. This test verifies that the VOD system which provides moving picture by MPEG2 via broad bandwidth ATM network has already reached the level of actual use. And also we get the know-how to construct contents, or how to manage network resources and server resources, and we have proposed them.

  • Recently, knowledge management(KM) has attracted increasing attention from academicians and practitioners alike. Amongst others, technological knowledge(TK) is considered principal asset of KM and R,&D organization of private firms selves as primary actor of KM. It is also noted that the notion of sectoral pattern of innovation highlights idiosyncratic differences across industrial sectors in terms of TK management. That is, knowledge contents, knowledge generation and How pattern are considerably different among industries. This paper first analyzes the correlation between structural of R&D organization and industrial(sectoral) type to identify the dominant structure of R&D organization for each industry. Second, sector-specific architectures of TK management system are proposed. According to structural characteristic of R&D-organization type, test-practice forms of TK management system are suggested in terms of such factors as knowledge contents(technology information), knowledge generation activities, and knowledge storage/retrieval modes.

  • For a good record maintenance according to organization and functions in Korea, it is required to make better use of 'Records Disposition Schedule', which is originally developed as a computerized system that can control the whole records maintenance procedure and manage every record according to organization and functions. 'Records Disposition Schedule' is only a system that allows us to maintain every record according to organization and functions and manage every information about such organization and functions. Accordingly, a well-functioning Records Disposition Schedule requires the exact modification and operation of such schedule depending upon organizational or functional changes. If the Records Disposition Schedule is not reasonably modified and operated depending upon organizational or functional changes, we won't be able to maintain any records in linkage with organization and functions and control the whole works throughout record maintenance.
