TiO2-SnO2 나노입자로 부터 고굴절 하드코팅 도막의 제조 (Preparation of Hard Coating Films with High Refractive Index from TiO2-SnO2 Nanoparticles)

  • $TiO_2$ 나노입자의 광촉매 반응을 억제하기 위해 평균 직경 3~5 nm의 $TiO_2-SnO_2$ 나노입자가 titanium tetraisopropoxide(TTIP)와 tin chloride의 가수분해 반응에 의해 합성되었다. 생성된 $TiO_2-SnO_2$ 나노입자를 졸-겔법에 의해 3-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane(GPTMS)과 반응시킴에 의해 유-무기 혼성 코팅 용액이 제조되었다. 그 후 코팅 용액을 기재인 polycarbonate(PC) 시트 위에 스핀 코팅시키고, $120^{\circ}C$에서 열경화 시켜 고굴절률 하드코팅 도막이 제조되었다. $TiO_2-SnO_2$ 나노입자로부터의 코팅 도막은 $TiO_2$ 나노입자로부터 얻어진 코팅 도막의 2H에 비해 증가된 3H의 연필경도를 보였다. 또한 $TiO_2-SnO_2$ 나노입자로부터의 코팅 도막의 굴절률은 Sn/Ti 몰 비가 0에서 0.5로 증가함에 따라 633 nm 파장에서 1.543으로부터 1.623으로 향상되었다.

Cr-free 코팅액에 의한 아연도금강판의 열처리 온도에 따른 내식특성 (Evaluation of the Corrosion Resistance of Zn-Coated Steel as a Function of the Temperature of the Cr-free Solution Used to Coat the Steel)

  • Zinc has a number of characteristics that make it well suited for use as a coating to protecting iron and steel products from corrosion. Its excellent corrosion resistance in most environments accounts for its successful use as a protective coating on a variety of products and in many exposure conditions. The excellent field performance of zinc coatings results from their ability to form dense, adherent films that corrode at a rate that ranges from 1% to 10% of the corrosion rate of ferrous materials, depending on the environment. Recently, EU RoHS and EU ELV prohibited the use of materials that adversely affect the environment, such as Pb, Hg, Cd, and $Cr^{+6}$. In this study, environmentally-friendly, Cr-free solutions (epoxy solution, acrylic solution, and urethane solution S-700) and organic/inorganic solution with Si; LRO-317) were used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of zinc-coated steel subjected to a saltwater spray for 72 hours. The coating of urethane solution (S-700) was best among the three kinds of solution with heat treatment during five minutes at $190^{\circ}F$. Test specimens with S-700 and LRO-317 coating were heat treated in a drying oven at 170, 180, 190, 200, and $210^{\circ}C$ for five minutes. The results show that the optimum corrosion resistance was $190^{\circ}C$ in EGI and $170^{\circ}C$ in HDGI, respectively.

Flexible ITO/PEDOT:PSS Hybrid Transparent Conducting Electrode for Organic Photovoltaics

  • Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) has widely been used as a transparent conductive oxide (TCE) for photovoltaic devices. Lately, flexibility of ITO becomes an issue as demand of flexible device increases. Several scientists have tried to substitute ITO to different materials such as conductive polymer, graphene, CNT, and metal nanowire because of ITO brittleness. Among the substitute materials, PEDOT:PSS has mostly paid attention because PEDOT:PSS has excellent flexibility and good conductivity. The conductivity of PEDOT:PSS increases up to 1000 S/cm with additives such as DMSO, EG, sorbitol, and so on. In our research group, we introduce a conductive polymer PEDOT:PSS as a buffer layer to improve not only flexibility but also conductivity. As PEDOT:PSS layer forms beneath ITO thin film (20 nm), sheet resistance decreases from $230{\Omega}$/${\Box}$ to $85{\Omega}$/${\Box}$ and crack initiation decreases from 4.5 mm to 3.5 mm as well. We have fabricated organic photovoltaic device and power conversion efficiencies using conventional ITO electrode and ITO/PEDOT:PSS hybrid electrode. The photovoltaic property such as power conversion efficiency for ITO/PEDOT:PSS hybrid electrode is comparable to the value obtained using conventional ITO electrode on glass substrate.

알콕시 실란기능화 양친성 고분자 전구체를 이용한 유-무기 하이브리드 졸 제조 및 이를 이용한 발수 코팅 (Preparation of O-I hybrid sols using alkoxysilane-functionalized amphiphilic polymer precursor and their application for hydrophobic coating)

  • 본 연구에서는 소수성 PPO 사슬과 친수성 PEO 사슬들이 동시에 존재하고, 반응성 알콕시 실란기를 가지고 있는 알콕시 실란 기능화 양친성 고분자 전구체 (Alkoxysilane-functionalized Amphiphilic Polymer, AFAP)를 합성하여, 이를 TEOS과의 Hydrolysis- Polycondensation 반응에서 분산안정제 및 반응속도 조절제로 이용하여서 유-무기 하이브리드 나노입자가 안정적으로 분산된 졸 (Sol)을 제조하였다. 제조된 Sol에 불소 함유 실란화합물을 혼합·반응하여서 불소함유 유-무기 하이브리드 Sol을 제조하였고, 이를 유리 기재에 코팅하고 저온 경화를 통해 기재위에 경화필름을 형성하였다. 형성된 경화 필름은 AFAP 및 불소 함유 실란화합물의 첨가량, 용매 종류에 따라서 표면 경도 및 발수 특성이 변화하였다. 최적의 용매 및 불소 함유 실란화합물 첨가량에서 태양전지나 디스플레이에 적용가능한 투명하면서도 견고한 유-무기 하이브리드 형태의 코팅필름 형성이 가능하였다.

다공성 산화알루미늄의 표면코팅에 따른 트라이볼로지적 특성연구 (Study on Tribological Behavior of Porous Anodic Aluminum Oxide with respect to Surface Coating)

  • In this work, we have fabricated anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) with ordered nanoscale porosity through an anodization process. We deposited gold and nano-organic thin films on the porous AAO surface to protect its structure and reduce friction. We investigated the tribological characteristics of the porous AAO with respect to the protective surface coatings using tribometers. While investigating the frictional characteristics of the samples by applying normal forces of the order of micro-Newton, we observed that AAO without a protective coating exhibits the highest friction coefficient. In the presence of protective surface coatings, the friction coefficient decreases significantly. We applied normal forces of the order of milli-Newton during the tribotests to investigate the wear characteristics of AAO, and observed that AAO without protective surface coatings experiences severe damage due to the brittle nature of the oxide layer. We observed the presence of several pieces of fractured particles in the wear track; these fractured particles lead to an increase in the friction. However, by using surface coatings such as gold thin films and nano-organic thin films, we confirmed that the thin films with nanoscale thickness protect the AAO surface without exhibiting significant wear tracks and maintain a stable friction coefficient for the duration of the tribotests.

볼트 결합부 풀림에 관한 마찰 특성 (The Friction Characteristics on the Loosening of Bolted Joints)

  • By using an experimental approach recently developed to determine the torque-tension relationship for bearing frictional characteristics of several typical bolted joints were studied. The experimental approach allows the direct determination of the bearing friction between the nut and its bearing surface. Detailed friction studies were made on the influences of the size and shape of the hole, the use of a slot in a bolted joint, contact area and position, and other factors such as turning speed, coating, and the use of wax on the bearing surface. The contact area and position of the washer have a marginal effect on the bearing friction. The organic coating on the nuts reduces the bearing friction significantly. Nuts with organic coating over a washer with zinc finish provide the smallest and the most consistent bearing friction. The results from the experimental investigation will be helpful for the better design of bolted joints bearing friction. The results from the experimental investigation Will be helpful for the better design of bolted joints.

Sn-Zn합금도금 조성에 미치는 도금조건의 영향 (Effect of Deposit Conditions on Composition of Sn-Zn Alloy Deposits)

  • In the present study, tin-zinc alloys were coated on a cold-rolled steel sheet with variations of electrolyte concentration, additives quantity and current density employing the Hull cell and circulation cell simulator. With an addition of additives of 2m1/L, tin-zinc deposits containing 10 to 40 percent Zn revealed a good surface appearance with weak acidic electrolytes. The organic additives suppressed the Sn deposition rate and thus increased the zinc contents in tin-zinc coating layers. The zinc contents in the tin-zinc coating layers depended almost linearly on the concentrations of metal ions of tin and zinc. Temperature of the electrolyte affected the composition tin-zinc coating layer. However, the concentration of complexants revealed little effectiveness. The surface morphology of tin-zinc coating showed dense tin and zinc phases with fine equiaxed grains with the high current density.

변성 실리케이트계 방오성 코팅재의 유기성 피착 오염물질 세정성능 평가 (Detergency Performance Evaluation of Organic Adherent Pollutant by Modified Silicate-Based Antifouling Coating Material)

  • This study try to finding the self-detergency performance of adherent pollutant on the mortar surface by using the developed silicate based antifouling coating material. Developed coating material coated on the surface of mortar test piece and after 30 minutes, over layed already coated mortar surface. After 7 days, the surface is polluted with crayons and oily magic marker. After 24 hours, contaminated area was wiped out the water. From the result of self-detergency performance test, it is concluded the developed material could be used as a detergent the contaminated concrete surface.

  • Recently, Waterhorne polyurethane(WBPU) have been used for a wide range of commercial applications due to the increasing environmental regulation to reduce low-volatile organic compounds in coating and adhesives materials [1-8]. The WBPU was used in coating industry on fiber at first, and its market is increasing these days. Especially, the Waterborne polyurethane film even is widely used in the field of breathable coating fiber or medical science [9-10].   • ZSM-5 zeolite composite membranes have been synthesized from a silica sol solution containing TPABr as an organic template by the dip-coating and the pressurized-coating hydrothermal treatment techniques. The CO2 separation efficiency of synthesized composite membranes was also investigated. The permeation mechanism of CO2 through ZSM-5 membranses was the surface diffusion, and that of N2, O2, and He gases was Knudsen diffusion or activated diffusion depending on the synthetic method of membranes and the measurement temperature. The CO2/N2 separation factor of the membrane prepared by the dip-coating hydrothermal treatment was 2.5 at about 12$0^{\circ}C$, while the ZSM-5 composite membrane synthesized by the pressurized-coating hydrothermal treatment technique showed the CO2/N2 separation factor of 9.0 at room temperature higher than that ever reported in the literature.
