Model development to design modified atmosphere packaging of Mandarin oranges

  • The aim of this study was to develop a model that could be used in the design of modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) for Mandarin oranges. Respiratory data at 5, 10, 20$^{\circ}C$ for mandarin oranges were gathered and altered for create useful respiration model. The maximum rate of oxygen uptake increased with increasing temperature. The packaging materials were conventional low density polyethylene and polypropylene with anti-fog, and anti-fungi treatments, and thickness was 30 $\mu\textrm{m}$ and 50 $\mu\textrm{m}$. Permeability tests were performed to find their oxygen, carbon dioxide, water vapor transmission rate as increases in temperature. Test results were then converted to logarithm format for MAP modeling. Optimum gas composition in the package system for fruits were set according to literature and upper or lower limits of oxygen and dioxide established. To predict gas composition at certain storage time, weight of fruits, film thickness, film type, and other variables, respiration rate was studied at various storage conditions. The validity of the model was tested experimentally by observing actual atmospheric changes inside packages. It is concluded that the strategy developed is of use in designing dynamic gas exchange MAP systems, and also has potential uses in similar agricultural products.

  • 청도반시와 사곡시 두 품종(品種)을 polyethylene film의 두께와 포장(包裝) bag내(內)의 과실개체수(果實個體數)에 따라 구분저장(區分貯藏)하였을 저장시일(貯藏時日)의 경과(經過)에 따른 성분변화(成分變化)를 조사(調査)한 결과(結果)는 다음과 같다. 1. 중량감소(重量減少)에 있어서, 청도반시는 50개(個) 포장(包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가, 사곡시는 10개포장(個包裝)의 0.08mm구(區)와 50개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가 가장 감소(減少)가 적었다. 2. 경도(硬度)의 변화(變化)에 있어서 청도반시, 사곡시 모두 50개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가 가장 감소(減少)가 적었다. 3. 유리산(遊離酸)의 감소(減少)에서 청도반시는 50개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가, 사곡시는 10개포장(個包裝)의 0.06mm구(區) 및 50개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가 감소율(減少率)이 낮았다. 4. 당도(糖度)의 변화(變化)에서, 10개포장(個包裝)의 0.06mm구(區) 및 0.08mm구(區)와 50개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가 감소(減少)가 적었다. 사곡시는 10개포장(個包裝) 및 50개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가 가장 감소(減少)가 적었다. 5. 가용성(可溶性) tannin의 함량변화(含量變化)에 있어서 청도반시와 사곡시 두 품종(品種) 모두 3개(個) 포장(包裝)과 10개포장(個包裝)의 0.04mm구(區)가 타구(他區)에 비(比)해 잔존량(殘存量)이 많았다. 한편 두 품종(品種) 공(共)히 50개포장(個包裝)의 전구(全區)가 저장말기(貯藏末期)에 tannin함량(含量)이 적어서 삽미(澁味)가 거의 느껴지지 않았다. 이상의 결과(結果)를 종합(綜合) 할 때 청도반시와 사곡시의 P.E film저장(貯藏)의 최적조건(最適條件)은 두 품종(品種) 모두 0.04mm film bag에 50개(個) 포장(包裝)하는 것임을 알수 있었다.

  • The primary objective of this research was to investigate optimum manufacturing condition of thin composite panels composed of sawdust, polyethylene film and polypropylene net. At the study the experiment was designed to make thin board in which sawdust offers effectiveness as core composing material, polyethylene as adhesive with added urea resin, and polypropylene as stiffness and flexibility in the composition panel. 100 types of thin composite panels were manufactured according to press-lam and mat-forming process of various hot pressing conditions(pressure, temperature and time). They were tested and compared with control boards on bending properties(MOR, MOE, SPL, WML), internal bond strength, thickness swelling, linear expansion and water absorption. At the same time the visual inspections of each types of panels were accomplished. The physical and mechanical properties of composite types passed by visual inspection were analyzed by Tukey's studentized range test. From the statistical analysis, the optimum manufacturing condition of thin composite panels were selected. Compared with two manufacturing processes, mat-forming process performed better than press-lam process in all tested properties. The optimum manufacturing conditions resulted from the experiment and statistical analysis were able to determine as following: the press temperature was shown the most good result at 130$^{\circ}C$ in mat forming process and 140$^{\circ}C$ press lam process, the press time 4 min in both processes, but the press pressure was 25-10kg/$cm^2$ in mat forming and 15k/$cm^2$ press lam process.

  • RF 글로우 방전 원자 방출 분광법을 사용하여 다층 도금강판 두께분석을 하였다. 일반적으로 gas jet boosted 글로우 방전은 플라스마 안정성과 스퍼터링 효율이 우수하여 기존의 두께 분석법에서 측정이 어려운 다층 두께분석이 가능하며, RF를 사용하여 비전도성 실리콘-수지계열의 다층 도금강판 두께분석이 가능하였다. RF gas-jet boosted 글로우 방전은 방전전원과 가스 흐름량 그리고 방전압력에 의해 스퍼터링을 조절할 수 있다. 그래서 스퍼터링 효율에 의해 다층 도금된 강판의 경우 소재에 따라 서로 다른 조건에서 측정할 수가 있었다. 본 연구에서 두께 $20{\mu}m$의 아연층을 가진 아연 도금강판의 두께 및 조성을 분석하기 위해서 최적조건에 대한 연구를 하였고, 두 가지 기준물질로 구성된 수지 도금강판을 이용해서 검량선을 측정하였다. 본 연구에 최적조건 및 검량을 하기 위해서 아연합금 도금강판 및 실리콘-수지 도금강판은 포항 산업 과학 기술원(RIST)에서 제공하였다.

PMMA 유기 게이트 절연막의 농도와 두께에 따른 특성 (Properties of Organic PMMA Gate Insulator Film at Various Concentration and Film Thickness)

  • The MIM(metal-insulator-metal) capacitors with the Al/PMMA/ITO/Glass structures were manufactured according to various PMMA concentration of 1, 2, 4, 6, 8 wt%. The lowest leakage current and the largest capacitance were found to be 2.3 pA and 1.2 nF, respectively, for the device with 2 wt% PMMA concentration. The measured capacitance of the devices was almost same values with the calculated one. The optimum film thickness was obtained at the value of 48 nm, showing that the capacitance and leakage current were 1.92 nF, 0.3 pA at 2 wt%, respectively. From this experiment, the PMMA gate insulator films can be applicable to the organic thin film transistors.

실리카 에어로겔 박막의 극저 유전특성 (Ultralow Dielectric Properties of $SiO_2$ Aerogel Thin Films)

  • 극저 유전특성을 갖는 SiO2 에어로겔의 박막화의 층간 절연막으로써의 응용성이 연구되었다. 점도가 10~14cP인 SiO2 폴리머 졸을 이소프로판을 분위기 하에서 1000~7000m으로 p-Si(111) 웨이퍼 상에 스핀코팅한 습윤겔 박막을 25$0^{\circ}C$와 1160 psing 조건에서 초임계건조하여 0.5 g/㎤ 정도의 밀도(78% 기공율) 와 4000~21000$\AA$ 범위의 두께를 갖는 SiO2 에어로겔 박막을 제조하였다. 박막의 두께와 미세구조를 제어할 수 있는 주요 인자는 졸의 농도, 회전속도 및 습윤겔 숙성시간임을 알 수 있었다. SiO2 에어로겔 박막의 유전상수 값은 giga급 이상의 차세대 반도체 소자에 충분히 응용될 수 있을 정도로 낮은 2.0 정도이었다.

그루브 위치가 리니어 압축기용 피스톤과 실린더의 윤활특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Groove Location on Lubrication Characteristics of the Piston and Cylinder in a Linear Compressor)

  • In this paper hydrodynamic lubrication analysis is carried out to investigate the effects of groove location on the lubrication performance of a piston and cylinder system in a linear compressor. The rectangle shaped grooves having a constant groove depth and width are applied on the lubrication area of the piston. The Universal Reynolds equation is used to calculate the oil film pressure, and the Elrod algorithm with the finite different method is used to solve the governing equation. The JFO boundary condition is applied to predict cavitation regions. Transient analysis for different locations of the grooves on the piston is carried out using the typical operating condition of the linear compressor in order to estimate the variations of frictional power losses and minimum film thicknesses. When the grooves are applied on the lubrication area, both the frictional power loss and the minimum film thickness decrease. The frictional power loss can be reduced effectively, while maintaining a minimum film thickness to enable the piston operation without direct contact with the cylinder surface, by means of choosing a proper location of the grooves. The optimum location of the grooves to improve a lubrication performance depends on the operation condition or the system requirements specification.

PECCP LB 박막을 발광층으로 사용한 유기 발광 다이오드의 특성 (Characteristics of Organic Light-Emitting Diodes using PECCP Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) Film as an Emissive Layer)

  • Electroluminescence(EL) devices based on organic thin films have been attracted lots of interests in large-area light-emitting display. In this stuffy, an emissive layer was fabricated using Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique in organic light-emitting (OLEDs). This emissive organic material was synthesized and named PECCP[poly(3.6-N-2-ethylhexyl carbazolyl cyanoterephthalidene)] which has a strong electron donor group and an electron acceptor group in main chain repeated unit. This material has good solubility in common organic solvents such as chloroform. THF, etc, and has a good stability in air. The Langmuir-Blodgett(LB) technique has the advantage of precise control of the thickness down to the molecular scale, In particular, by varying the film thickness it is possible to investigate the metal/polymer interface. Optimum conditions for the LB film deposition are usually determined by investigating a relationship between a surface pressure $\pi$ and an effective are A occupied by one molecule on the subphase. The LB films were deposited on an indium-tin-oxide(ITO) glass at a surface pressure of 10 mN/m and dipping speed of 12 mm/min after spreading PECCP solution on distilled water surphase at room temperature, Cell structure was ITO/PECCP LB film/Alq$_3$/Al. We considered PECCP as a hole -transport layer inserted between the emissive layer and ITO. We also used Alq$_3$ as an emissive layer and an electron transport layer. We measured current-voltage(I-V) characteristics, UV/visible absorption, PL spectrum and EL spectrum of the OLEDs.

고정밀저항용 크롬산화박막의 특성 (Characteristics of CrOx Thin-films for High Precision Resistors)

  • This paper presents characteristics of CrOx thin-film, which were deposited on $Al_2$O$_3$ wafer by DC reactive magnetron sputtering in an argon-oxide atmosphere for high temperature applications. The present paper deals with a study of the technological characteristics of thin film resistors to provide a control in obtaining temperature coefficients of resistance of given value. The optimized condition of CrOx thin-film were thickness range of 2500 $\AA$ and annealing condition(350 $^{\circ}C$, 1 hr) in oxide partial pressure(3.5${\times}$10$^{-4}$ torr). Under optimum conditions, the CrOx thin-films is obtained a high resistivity, p=340 $\mu$Ωcm, a low temperature coefficient of resistance, TCR=-55 ppm/$^{\circ}C$. The CrOx thin films resistors which were fabricated in this paper had excellent characteristics as high precision resistors.

측면시야각에서의 대칭적 명암대비비 향상을 위한 IPS-LCD 광학보상 (Optical Compensation of IPS-LCD for Symmetric-High-Contrast at Off-Axis Oblique View)

  • In this study, we proposed an optical compensation method to improve the symmetricity of contrast ratio for wide viewing angle IPS (in-plane switching) LCD. First, the phase retardation depending on the thickness of compensation film is calculated, and then the phase change is presented at the $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ sphere. The phase retardation and the polarization state of the light passing through the optical elements are caculated by using the EJMM (extended Jones matrix method). In addition, the transmittance and the contrast countour are also calculated by using the Berremann's $4{\times}4$ matrix method. The simulation is carried out for a IPS LC cell with positive A/C/A compensation film. From the standard deviation of the contrast ratio, we confirmed the symmetricity at each viewing angle is inversely proportional to the standard deviation and calculated the optimum design condition of the uniaxial compensation film for the IPS LCD.
