전자패키지용 경사조성 $Al-SiC_p$복합재료의 열.기계적 변형특성 해석 (Thermomechanical Analysis of Functionally Gradient $Al-SiC_p$ Composite for Electronic Packaging)

  • 층상구조재료가 갖는 약점으로는 구성재료층 간의 열.기계적 특성 차이로 인하여 내부응력이 발생되고 비틀림 변형이 유발되어 형상 제어가 매우 어려울 뿐만 아니라, 반복적인 열 하중으로 인해 열이력을 받을 경우 접합부에서의 파손이 생길 수 있다는 것이다. 최근 층상구조에서 조직 혹은 조성이 점차적으로 변하는 계면을 삽입한 경사조성재료는 열.기계적 변형특성 차이에 의한 재료의 손상을 최소화시킬 수 있으나, 용도에 적합한 구조설계를 위해서 열.기계적 해석이 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 전자패키징용 $Al-SiC_p$ 경사조성 복합재료의 기하학적 구조와 온도변화에 따른 곡면화 변형 및 내부응력분포를 해석하고자 하였다. 한편 층상구조 $Al-SiC_p$ 경사조성 복합재료의 열변형량을 측정하고 내부응력분포를 실험적으로 구하여, 이론적으로 계산한 결과와 비교하였다. 본 연구의 해석결과는 경사조성 층상구조재료의 최적구조 설계에 유용하게 적용할 수 있다.

  • MLCC는 각종 전자제품의 핵심부품이며 이러한 MLCC 부품을 제작하기 위해 교반기가 사용되어진다. 과거에는 접촉식 교반기가 많이 사용되었으나 현재는 여러 장점으로 인해 비접촉식 교반기의 사용이 증가 추세에 있다. 이와 같은 비접촉식 중에서 특히 대용량 비접촉식 교반기의 경우, 구동기어의 기능이 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 대용량 비접촉식 교반기 구동기어의 최적설계를 통한 제작비용 절감을 위해 기존 모델에서 과도한 설계 변경 없이 구동기어의 형상최적화 연구를 수행하였다. 그 결과, 강건 설계된 기존 모델과 비교하여 형상최적화 된 수정모델의 안전율이 약 3.0 ~ 3.5 배 감소한 것으로부터 제작비용 절감 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • This investigation is the result of the structural analysis by finite element method and test for considering stress distribution and stress concentration to be generated according to the change of attached shape and method of the bracket to pipe in welding structure. Generally, members that consist structures are subjected to various forces and are jointed each other with a number of bracket. In this case, circular pipe was adapted in order to weld these members easily and to study the optimal design which is used a beam with shape section as main components of the structure, According to attached shape and method, distributed stress on circular pipe is appeared so differently. This may result deeply effects with respect to thickness, material properties. So a study on attaching shape and method of bracket to circular pipe is needed. In this paper, to obtain the maximum equivalent stress or stress concentration was used experimental and F.E.M. analysis. First five parameter was defined with respect to attached a shape and method to circular pipe i.e. the variation of the attached area, the variation of the attached shape, the variation of the attached length, the variation of both directin angles, the variation of the upper angle. Afterward the experimental analysis was practiced as the variation of the both direction angel and the finite element analysis was practiced as each parameters. We can discover stress distribution and stress concentration according to the change of form of bracket. And the result can be referenced for a design of similar structure.

Buckling analysis and optimal structural design of supercavitating vehicles using finite element technology

  • The supercavitating vehicle is an underwater vehicle that is surrounded almost completely by a supercavity to reduce hydrodynamic drag substantially. Since the cruise speed of the vehicle is much higher than that of conventional submarines, the drag force is huge and a buckling may occur. The buckling phenomenon is analyzed in this study through static and dynamic approaches. Critical buckling load and pressure as well as buckling mode shapes are calculated using static buckling analysis and a stability map is obtained from dynamic buckling analysis. When the finite element method (FEM) is used for the buckling analysis, the solver requires a linear static solver and an eigenvalue solver. In this study, these two solvers are integrated and a consolidated buckling analysis module is constructed. Furthermore, Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm is combined in the buckling analysis module to perform a design optimization computation of a simplified supercavitating vehicle. The simplified configuration includes cylindrical shell structure with three stiffeners. The target for the design optimization process is to minimize total weight while maintaining the given structure buckling-free.

레이저 열-압착 본딩 시스템의 Lateral Force 감소를 위한 유연 힌지의 설계 (Design of flexure hinge to reduce lateral force of laser assisted thermo-compression bonding system)

  • Laser Assisted Thermo-Compression Bonding (LATCB) has been proposed to improve the "chip tilt due to the difference in solder bump height" that occurs during the conventional semiconductor chip bonding process. The bonding module of the LATCB system has used a piezoelectric actuator to control the inclination of the compression jig on a micro scale, and the piezoelectric actuator has been directly coupled to the compression jig to minimize the assembly tolerance of the compression jig. However, this structure generates a lateral force in the piezoelectric actuator when the compression jig is tilted, and the stacked piezoelectric element vulnerable to the lateral force has a risk of failure. In this paper, the optimal design of the flexure hinge was performed to minimize the lateral force generated in the piezoelectric actuator when the compression jig is tilted by using the displacement difference of the piezoelectric actuator in the bonding module for LATCB. The design variables of the flexure hinge were defined as the hinge height, the minimum diameter, and the notch radius. And the effect of the change of each variable on the stress generated in the flexible hinge and the lateral force acting on the piezoelectric actuator was analyzed. Also, optimization was carried out using commercial structural analysis software. As a result, when the displacement difference between the piezoelectric actuators is the maximum (90um), the maximum stress generated in the flexible hinge is 11.5% of the elastic limit of the hinge material, and the lateral force acting on the piezoelectric actuator is less than 1N.

탄소섬유 복합재 및 두께 축소율을 이용한 풍력 블레이드 스파캡 경량화 설계 (A Lightweight Design of the Spar cap of Wind Turbine Blades with Carbon Fiber Composite and Ply Reduction Ratio)

  • 본 논문에서는 2MW급 풍력 블레이드의 스파캡을 탄소복합재료, 두께축소율(PRR) 및 상쇄연구(Trade-off study)를 이용해서 경량화 설계를 수행했다. 블레이드 스파캡은 블레이드의 기계적 건전성을 결정하는 가장 핵심적인 요소이다. 가벼우면서도 기계적 신뢰성을 확보할 수 있는 블레이드 스파캡의 형상을 도출하기 위해 주어진 설계하중으로 스파캡의 두께를 변화시키면서 반복적인 구조해석을 실시한다. 파손여부를 판정하기 위해서 Tsai-Wu 및 Puck 파손이론을 사용하였으며, 그 결과 GFRP 복합재료보다 CFRP 복합재료가 동일한 조건에서 약 30% 무게를 경량화 할 수 있었다. 해석 결과를 바탕으로 복합재료 적층두께의 최적값을 도출하여 구조적 성능 향상 및 경량화 된 설계 결과를 제시한다.

입자 군집 최적화 알고리즘 기반 다항식 신경회로망의 설계 (Design of Particle Swarm Optimization-based Polynomial Neural Networks)

  • In this paper, we introduce a new architecture of PSO-based Polynomial Neural Networks (PNN) and discuss its comprehensive design methodology. The conventional PNN is based on a extended Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) method, and utilized the polynomial order (viz. linear, quadratic, and modified quadratic) as well as the number of node inputs fixed (selected in advance by designer) at Polynomial Neurons located in each layer through a growth process of the network. Moreover it does not guarantee that the conventional PNN generated through learning results in the optimal network architecture. The PSO-based PNN results in a structurally optimized structure and comes with a higher level of flexibility that the one encountered in the conventional PNN. The PSO-based design procedure being applied at each layer of PNN leads to the selection of preferred PNs with specific local characteristics (such as the number of input variables, input variables, and the order of the polynomial) available within the PNN. In the sequel, two general optimization mechanisms of the PSO-based PNN are explored: the structural optimization is realized via PSO whereas in case of the parametric optimization we proceed with a standard least square method-based learning. To evaluate the performance of the PSO-based PNN, the model is experimented with using Gas furnace process data, and pH neutralization process data. For the characteristic analysis of the given entire data with non-linearity and the construction of efficient model, the given entire system data is partitioned into two type such as Division I(Training dataset and Testing dataset) and Division II(Training dataset, Validation dataset, and Testing dataset). A comparative analysis shows that the proposed PSO-based PNN is model with higher accuracy as well as more superb predictive capability than other intelligent models presented previously.

국내 설계하중의 피로특성을 적용한 고주탑 엑스트라도즈드교의 성능개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance Improvement of High-Pylon Extradosed Bridge adopting Fatigue Loading Condition)

  • 본 연구에서는 기존 엑스트라도즈드교와 PSC 사장교 사이의 영역인 주탑고비 1/6~1/7의 고주탑을 적용하여 엑스트라도즈드교의 구조적, 경제적 특성을 평가하였다. 주탑고가 증가함에 따라 사재의 연직하중 분담율의 증가와 함께 변동응력도 증가하여 사재의 피로안정성이 주요 설계변수임을 알 수 있었다. 국내에서는 엑스트라도즈드교의 설계기준 부재로 인하여 일본 설계기준을 준용하고 있다. 또한, 피로 검토하중도 정립되지 않고 있어 본 연구에서는 일본 피로 검토하중에 대응하는 국내 활하중을 적용 검토하여 DL24 하중이 피로 검토하중으로 적정함을 알 수 있었다. 제시된 피로 검토하중을 적용하여 주탑고, 주거더의 강성, 케이블 면수 등을 매개변수로 엑스트라도즈드교의 구조적, 경제적 특성을 검토하였다. 본 연구의 결과로써 일면 케이블 배치가 이면 케이블 배치보다 경제적임을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 주탑고비가 1/6의 변단면 고주탑 엑스트라도즈교에서 연직 하중분담율이 30~50% 이내로 모든 사재가 허용변동응력 이내로 들어와 사재를 효율적으로 사용할 수 있어 가장 경제적임을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 기존의 엑스트라도즈드교보다 높은 주탑고를 적용함에 따라 구조적, 경제적으로 효율성을 높일 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Effect of Dietary Structural to Nonstructural Carbohydrate Ratio on Rumen Degradability and Digestibility of Fiber Fractions of Wheat Straw in Sheep

  • The effect of different dietary structural carbohydrate (SC) to nonstructural carbohydrate (NSC) ratios on fiber degradation, digestion, flow, apparent digestibility and rumen fluid characteristics was studied with a design using 18 wethers fitted with permanent rumen and duodenum cannulae. All sheep were divided into six groups randomly, receiving six diets with varying SC to NSC ratios. All diets contained the same proportion of wheat straw and concentrate. The dietary SC to NSC ratios were adjusted by adding cornstarch to the concentrate supplements. The duodenal and fecal flows of dry matter (DM), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), hemicellulose (HC) and cellulose (CEL) were estimated using chromium-mordanted wheat straw as a flow marker. The degradation parameters of wheat straw DM, NDF, ADF, HC and CEL were determined by incubating the ground wheat straw in nylon bags in the rumen for different periods of time. There was no effect (p>0.05) of the different dietary SC to NSC ratios on rumen pH or $NH_3$-N, but acetate, propionate and butyrate concentrations were significantly affected (p<0.05 or p<0.01) by dietary SC to NSC ratios in the rumen fluid. When the dietary SC to NSC ratio was 2.86, the highest rumen degradability of wheat straw DM, NDF, ADF and CEL was found, but the highest apparent rumen digestibilities of DM, NDF, ADF, HC and CEL occurred at a 2.64 SC to NSC ratio. However, because of compensatory digestion in the hindgut, the apparent digestibilities of DM, NDF, ADF, HC and CEL were highest when the dietary SC to NSC ratio was 2.40. In conclusion, there is a optimal range of dietary SC to NSC ratios (between 2.86 and 2.40) that is beneficial to maximize wheat straw fiber degradation and apparent digestibility.

Dynamic analysis of offshore wind turbines

  • For large-scale 5MW offshore wind turbines, the discrete equation of fluid domain and the motion equation of structural domain with geometric nonlinearity were built, the three-dimensional modeling of the blade considering fluid-structure interaction (FSI) was achieved by using Unigraphics (UG) and Geometry modules, and the numerical simulation and the analysis of the vibration characteristics for wind turbine structure under rotating effect were carried out based on ANSYS software. The results indicate that the rotating effect has an apparent effect on displacement and Von Mises stress, and the response and the distribution of displacement and Von Mises stress for the blade in direction of wingspan increase nonlinearly with the equal increase of rotational speeds. Compared with the single blade model, the blade vibration period of the whole machine model is much longer. The structural coupling effect reduces the response peak value of the blade displacement and Von Mises stress, and the increase of rotational speed enhances this coupling effect. The maximum displacement difference between two models decreases first and then increases along wingspan direction, the trend is more visible with the equal increase of rotational speed, and the boundary point with zero displacement difference moves towards the blade root. Furthermore, the Von Mises stress difference increases gradually with the increase of rotational speed and decreases nonlinearly from the blade middle to both sides. The results can provide technical reference for the safe operation and optimal design of offshore wind turbines.
