최적 생태마을 조성을 위한 자연지형과 환경요인 적용기법 연구 (Application Methods of the Natural Topography and Environmental Facts for Building Optimum Eco-Village)

  • 좁은 국토에서 최적의 생태마을 조성을 위한 여러 가지 방법이 시도되고 있다. 지형인자와 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크에 의한 환경인자를 결합하여 새로운 최적의 생태마을 인자를 도출하고자 인간의 구체적인 정착 생태공간을 조사하고, 이것에 대한 자연적인 실제 정착 공간 분석과 비교하여 최적의 생태마을조성방안을 도출하고자 하였다. 보다 건강하고 행복한 자연공간을 활용할 수 있는 웰빙 공간구성과 더불어 생태적인 요인과 결합되어져서 자연치유가 가능한 삶의 공간을 찾아낼 수 있다는 점에서 하나의 가능한 새로운 방법으로 실측함으로써, 전 국토의 크고 작은 마을 단위의 생태마을 조성에서 하나의 새로운 이정표를 제시하였다.

직접설계법(直接設計法)에 의한 철근(鐵筋)콘크리트 2방향(方向) 슬래브형(型) 구조체(構造體)의 최적설계(最適設計) (A Study on the Optimal Design of Reinforced Concrete Slab-Beam-Column Structures by Direct Method)

  • 본(本) 연구(硏究)는 직접설계법(直接設計法)에 의한 다층(多層), 다경간(多徑間)을 갖는 철근(鐵筋)콘크리트 슬래브형(型) 구조체(構造體)의 최적화(最適化)에 관한 것이다. 설계제약조건(設計制約條件)으로는 슬래브, 보, 기둥의 휨강도(强度), 전단강도(剪斷强度), 단면치수, 철근비(鐵筋比) 등을 고려했고 목적함수(目的函數)로는 공비함수(工費函數)를 취했는데 이들은 고차(高次)의 비선형계획문제(非線型計劃問題)가 된다. 본(本) 연구(硏究)에서는 축차선형계획기법(逐次線型計劃技法)을 사용하여 전체(全體) 구조(構造)를 종합적(綜合的)으로 최적화(最適化) 할 수 있는 최적설계(最適設計) 프로그램을 개발하였다. 개발된 알고리즘의 타당성(妥當性), 경제성(經濟性), 수렴성(收斂性) 등을 확인하기 위해 5층(層)의 구조체(構造體)로서 각층(各層), 각 경우에 대해 직접 적용(適用)하였다. 그 결과 3~5회 반복시행(反復試行)으로 최적해(最適解)에 수렴(收斂)했고 재래(在來)의 설계(設計)에 비(比)해 경제적(經濟的)임이 입증(立證)되었다.

Enhanced least square complex frequency method for operational modal analysis of noisy data

  • Operational modal analysis is being widely used in aerospace, mechanical and civil engineering. Common research fields include optimal design and rehabilitation under dynamic loads, structural health monitoring, modification and control of dynamic response and analytical model updating. In many practical cases, influence of noise contamination in the recorded data makes it difficult to identify the modal parameters accurately. In this paper, an improved frequency domain method called Enhanced Least Square Complex Frequency (eLSCF) is developed to extract modal parameters from noisy recorded data. The proposed method makes the use of pre-defined approximate mode shape vectors to refine the cross-power spectral density matrix and extract fundamental frequency for the mode of interest. The efficiency of the proposed method is illustrated using an example five story shear frame loaded by random excitation and different noise signals.

  • This study describes a method of finding an optimal path of a soccer robot by using a concentric circle method with different radii of rotation. Comparing with conventional algorithms which try to find the shortest path length, the variable concentric circle method find the shortest moving time. The radius fur the shortest moving time for a given ball location depends on the relative location between a shooting robot and a ball. Practically it is difficult to find an analytical solution due to many unknowns. Assuming a radius of rotation within a possible range, total path moving time can be calculated by adding the times needed for straight path and circular path. Among these times the shortest time is obtained. In this paper, a graphical solution is presented such that the game ground is divided into 3 regions with a minimum, medium, and maximum radius of rotation.

802.11 Ad Hoc LANs with Realistic Channels : Study of Packet Fragmentation

  • In this paper, we present an analytical method for estimating the saturation throughput of an 802.11 ad hoc LAN in the presence of noise distorting transmitted frames. This is the first method that allows studying analytically the 802.11 network performance with consideration of correlated channel failures usually inherent to realistic wireless channels. With the study, we consider the possible packet fragmentation that can be adopted to reduce the performance degradation caused by noise-induced distortions. In addition to the throughput, our method allows estimating the probability of a packet rejection occurring when the number of packet transmission retries attains its limit. The obtained numerical results of investigating 802.11 LANs by the developed method are validated by simulation and show high estimation accuracy as well as the method efficiency in determining the optimal fragmentation threshold.

Design Sensitivity Analysis of Coupled Thermo-elasticity Problems

  • In this paper, a continuum-based design sensitivity analysis (DSA) method is developed for the weakly coupled thermo-elasticity problems. The temperature and displacement fields are described in a common domain. Boundary value problems such as an equilibrium equation and a heat conduction equation in steady state are considered. The direct differentiation method of continuum-based DSA is employed to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of sensitivity computation. We derive design sensitivity expressions with respect to thermal conductivity in heat conduction problem and Young's modulus in equilibrium equation. The sensitivities are evaluated using the finite element method. The obtained analytical sensitivities are compared with the finite differencing to yield very accurate results. Extensive developments of this method are useful and applicable for the optimal design problems incorporating welding and thermal deformation problems.

  • To define an analytical model for a structural system or to assess damage in the system, system identification(SI) methods have been developed and widely applied. The paper presents a method of determining optimal sensor location(OSL) based on the maximum likelihood approach, which is applicable to modal SI methods. To estimate unknown parameters reliably, it is necessary that the information provided by the experiment should be maximized. By applying the Cramer-Rao inequality, a Fisher information matrix in terms of the probability density function of measurements is obtained from a lower bound of the estimation error. The paper also proposes a scheme of determining of OSL on damaged structures by using maximum strain energy factor. Simulation studies have carried out to investigate the proposed OSL algorithm for both undamaged and damaged structures.

HBT의 전류원 모델을 위한 최적 열 저항값 추출 방법 (Optimal Thermal Resistance Extraction Method for the Current Source Model of HBT)

  • Two new extraction methods for the thermal Resistance of HBT(Heterojunction Bipolar Transistors) are proposed. First, the analytical expression, based on the thermal characteristics that the base to emitter junction voltage drops with the increase of junction temperature, is derived. Second, the thermal resistance equation that can predict the measured DC(Direct Current) data optimally is derived. These optimal thermal resistance expression is applied to the 2 finger 2${\times}$20${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$-AlGaAs/GaAs HBT and shows the good agreement with the measured data.

초음파 분무기를 이용한 유기상의 주입에 의한 희토류 원소의 유도결합 플라스마 질량분석법적 정량 (Determination of Rare Earth Elements by Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry with Introduction of Organic Phase Using Ultrasonic Nebulizer)

  • 추출한 유기상 속의 희토류 원소를 유도결합 플라스마 질량분석법(inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, ICP-MS)으로 정량하는 방법에 대하여 연구하였다. 희토류 원소를 추출한 유기상의 과다한 도입을 방지하기 위하여 탈용매화장치를 장착한 초음파 분무기를 이용하여 ICP-MS에 주입하였다. 에탄올(EtOH)에 MIBK(methyl isobutyl ketone)를 섞은 용매를 도입하였을때, 계수율(count rate)이 증가하였고, 여기에 0.03 M의 추출제 HEH(2-ethylhexyl-2-ethylhexyl phosphonic acid, P507, PC88A)를 섞었을 때는 감소하였다. 탈용매화장치의 냉각장치(condenser)의 최적온도는 -10 $^{\circ}C$이었고, 가열관(heating tube)의 최적온도는 150 $^{\circ}C$이었다. 계수율이 최대이고, 반사파(reflect power)가 최소인 최적 운반기체의 흐름속도는 0.7 L/min이었다. MIBK에 추출제 HEH가 0.03 M이 섞여있는 추출용매로 추출을 행하였을 때, 최적 pH는 4.3이었고, 추출시간은 10 분이었다. 최적조건에서 0.2 ${\sim}$ 20 ng/mL의 표준용액으로 얻은 검정곡선으로부터 구한 검출 한계는 0.02 ${\sim}$ 0.05 ng/mL 이었다.

Propagation characteristics of ultrasonic guided waves in tram rails

  • Ultrasonic guided wave testing is a very promising non-destructive testing method for rails, which is of great significance for ensuring the safe operation of railways. On the basis of the semi-analytical finite element (SAFE) method, a analytical model of 59R2 grooved rail was proposed, which is commonly used in the ballastless track of modern tram. The dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in free rail and supported rail were obtained. Sensitivity analysis was then undertaken to evaluate the effect of rail elastic modulus on the phase velocity and group velocity dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves. The optimal guided wave mode, optimal excitation point and excitation direction suitable for detecting rail integrity were identified by analyzing the frequency, number of modes, and mode shapes. A sinusoidal signal modulated by a Hanning window with a center frequency of 25 kHz was used as the excitation source, and the propagation characteristics of high-frequency ultrasonic guided waves in the rail were obtained. The results show that the rail pad has a relatively little influence on the dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in the high frequency band, and has a relatively large influence on the dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in the low frequency band below 4 kHz. The rail elastic modulus has significant influence on the phase velocity in the high frequency band, while the group velocity is greatly affected by the rail elastic modulus in the low frequency band.
