The optical behavior of coloring matter extracted from onion's coats, the depression effects of destruction, yellowing and W transmittance of silk treated with color solution of onion's coats color difference of silk fabrics dyed with acid dyes and drycleaning fastness of silk treated with color solution has been investigated. The results are as follows : 1) The coloring matter extracted from onion's coats by alkali-acid method appeared properties of aglycon type. 2) &{\lambda}_{max}&of color solution extracted by distilled water was found at 280 and 327nm. 3) The decrease of tensile strength and the elongation of the silk treated with color solution were depressed but those of untreated silk were increased by irradiation of UV light. 4) The yellowness index of silk treated with color solution showed a little change by irradiation. 5) The UV transmittance of silk treated with color solution was decreased as increasing concentration of color solution. 6) The color difference after dyeing with several acid dyes on treated and untreated silk fabrics showed remarkable changes. 7) Drycleaning fastness of silk treated by color solution was excellent.
Changes in light transmission characteristics caused by various types of oil contaminations were experimentally measured with a built-in type wear monitoring device. Three kinds of iron powders of different size distribution, carbon duct, two kinds of solutions and grease were used for the test contaminants in this work. Light intensity of the transmitted light was measured with the contamination level. Results showed that the transmitted light intensity decreased linearly with the contamination concentration in the oil and the slope was affected by the size distribution. Light attenuation was also caused greatly by carbon dust, water contamination and poly-meric fibers in terms of the light absorption. As a result, it was proved that the optical measurement device could be applicable effectively for detecting any significant change in lubricating oils.
pH sensitive polymers have long been utilized as one important type among many interesting drug delivery systems. This is due to the reason of different pH environments in human organs, which requires different pH control mechanism depending upon the organs. In the present study the pH sensitivity was investigated for both pH sensitive and pH insensitive biopolymers using the diffusion effect along with the swelling effect. NMR microscopy was performed along with optical microscopy. For the analysis of diffusion effect, UMR Microscopy was perFormed to measure diffusion coefficients for various liquids such as distilled water, acetone and DMSO(dimethyl sulfoxide). Also, this technique is expected to contribute to the studies for many pH drug delivery systems.

The surface energy budget depends on many factors, such as the type of surface, the soil moisture and the vegetation canopy, the geographical location, daily, monthly and seasonal variations, and weather conditions. In the coastal region, the surface is not homogeneous at various scales for instance water, sand, mud, tall grass, and crops. The energy balance over the vegetation canopy was analyzed with the optical energy balance measuring system. The latent heat flux was more intensive than the sensible heat flux. The sensible heat flux was very small in summer due to the canopy effect and higher in spring and autumn. In summer the development of the atmospheric boundary depended on rather the vertical shear of wind than the sensible heat flux.

P/2010 A2, a main-belt asteroid having comet-like dust trail was discovered in January 2010, but the origin of the trail is controversial. Moreno et al. (2010) reported water-ice sublimation as a mechanism for the comet-like activity, whereas other researches (Jewitt et al. 2010; Snodgrass et al. 2010) stated that impact collision contributed to the dust trail. For asteroids are categorized based on spectral shape, optical observation using different color filters makes it possible to determine the taxonomic type of P/2010 A2 nucleus, thus gives an answer to the question of activation mechanism of the object. In this presentation, we report multiband observation of P/2010 A2 in January and March 2010 with 1-meter telescope of Ishigaki-Jima Astronomical Observatory. We employed three broadband filters of g', Rc, and Ic. In this presentation, we focus on the data acquisition, the reduction and the derivation of the reflectance spectrum of debris in the trail. Finally we discuss the potential cause of dust ejection from this asteroid.

We have deposited aluminum-doped ZnO thin films on borosilicate glass by atomic layer deposition. Diethylzinc (DEZ) and dimethylaluminum isopropoxide (DMAIP) were used as the metal precursor and the Al-dopant, respectively. Water was used as an oxygen source. DMAIP was successfully used as an aluminum precursor for chemical vapor deposition and ALD. All deposited films showed n-type conduction. The resistivity decreased to a minimum and then increased with increasing the aluminum content. The carrier concentration increased and the carrier mobility decreased with increasing the DMAIP to DEZ pulse ratio. The average optical transmittance was nearly 80 % in the visible part of the spectrum. The absorption edge moved to the shorter wavelength region with increasing the DMAIP to DEZ pulse ratio. Our results indicate that DMAIP is suitable for Al doping of ZnO films.
In this study, we developed an optical-fiber sensor using cobalt chloride solution to monitor temperature in real-time between long distance points unaffected by the electro-magnetic wave and the vibration. Cobalt chloride solutions were made using 10% water and 90% ethanol (v/v) solution. The transmittance of these solutions was analyzed on 655 nm using UV-Visible spectrometer regarding temperature change. Also 30.8 mM cobalt chloride solution was gelled by dissolving polyvinyl butyral and the transmittance of this was analyzed on 655 nm regarding temperature change. The results of transmittance and optical power measurement showed decrease of both transmittance and optical power with increase of temperature from 66.8% and 149.5 nW at $25^{\circ}C$ to 7.1% and 48 nW at $70^{\circ}C$, respectively. These results support the possibility of gelled cobalt chloride/polyvinyl butyral as an optical-fiber sensor to monitor temperature change.
The effect of water extract of Schizandra chinensis on the growth of yoghurt starter was investigated in order to manufacture the drink type yoghurt added with water extract of Schizandra chinensis. It was the most desirable extraction conditions for Schizandra chinensis to soak in 50 times of water for 15 hours at 20$^{\circ}C$. The water extract of Schizandra chinensis showed pH 3.07, 2.39% acidity, 1.10% total sugars, and 0.15 optical density for color. The water extract of Schizandra chinensis was added to MRS broth medium from 0.1% to 1.0% and the medium was fermented by 4 types of lactic acid bacteria such as Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus casei, Lactobacillus bulgaricus, and Streptococcus thermophilus. The addition of water extract of Schizandra chinensis inhibited the growth of the lactic acid bacteria. The maximum addition amounts of water extract of Schizandra chinensis was 0.9% for Lac. acidophilus, 0.8% for Lac. casei, 0.2% for Lac. bulgaricus and 0.1% for Str. thermophilus in order to maintain the propagation of the lactic acid bacteria. When the drink type yoghurts added with 0.4%, 0.6%, 0.8% and 1.0% water extract of Schizandra chinensis were kept at 4$^{\circ}C$ for 15 days, it was showed that the number of lactic acid bacteria was not significantly changed during the storage. The viable cell counts of the drink type yoghurts by addition of 0.4∼l.0% of water extract of Schizandra chinensis were 1.13${\times}$10$\^$9/∼2.29${\times}$10$\^$9/ CFU/mL, and these bacterial counts were still more than the legal standard(1.0${\times}$10$\^$8/ CFU/mL) even at 15 days of storage.
Emulsion fuel is a very attractive fuel because of its energy saving and pollution prevention properties. We investigated and compared the combustion efficiency of B-C oil and emulsion fuel i.e. fuel made from the mixture of B-C oil and waste water. By installing an R-type thermocouple and an optical pyrometer on each side of the boiler, and by placing a combustion analyzer at the point of gas emissions, We were able to measure and compare each flame temperature, combustion rate and the concentration of emitted gas when B-C oil and emulsion fuel are burned. The following results were obtained: The flame temperature of emulsion fuel at the front and rear of the boiler is about 50$^{\circ}C$ lower than the flame temperature of B-C oil. The reason for this difference in temperature is that both latent and sensible heat is lost due to the moisture in the waste water of emulsion fuel. An analysis of emitted gases shows that when emulsion fuel is used polluting substances decrease also the concentration of CO becomes considerably lower. The combustion efficiency for B-C oil and emulsion fuel is 85.5% and 84.8% respectively.
