In this study, we investigated the effects of shutter control by Reactive Magnetron Sputtering using Inductively-Coupled Plasma(ICP) for obtaining ZnO thin films with high purity. The surface morphologies and structure of deposited ZnO thin films were characterized using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) and X-ray Diffractometer (XRD). Also, optical and chemical properties of ZnO thin films were analyzed by Spectroscopic Ellipsometer (SE) and X-ray Photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). As a result, it observed that ZnO thin films grown at reactive sputtering using shutter control and ICP were higher density, lower surface roughness, better crystallinity than other conventional sputtering deposition methods. For obtaining better quality deposition ZnO thin films, we will investigate the effects of substrate temperature and RF power on shutter control by a reactive magnetron sputtering using inductively-coupled plasma.

To investigate the 2nO thin films which are interested in the next generation of short wavelength LEDs and Lasers and UV photodetector with p-type inversion layer, the ZnO thin films were deposited by RF sputtering system. Gas ratios and work pressure is Ar : $O_2$ = 4 : 1 and 15 mTorr, respectively, and the purity of ZnO target is 5N. The ZnO thin films were deposited at 300, 450, and $650^{\circ}C$. The current-voltage, responsivity and quantum efficiency of devices were studied and compared with each devices.
Deposition characteristics of Cu thin films using Ar carrier gas and $H_2$ processing gas at various working pressures and substrate temperatures were investigated. Also, effects of $H_2$ pretreatment using plasma at $200^{\circ}C$ of substrate temperature and 0.6 Torr of chamber pressure were stdied. Cu thin films were deposited on TiN/Si substrate at working pressure of 0.5~1.5 Torr, substrate temperatures of 140~$240^{\circ}C$ with (hface)Cu(tmvs). Substrates were pretreated by $H_2$ plasma, and Cu films deposited in situ using twofold shower head. The purity, electrical resistivity, thickness, surface morphology, optical properties of the deposited Cu films were measured b the AES, four point probe, stylus profiler, SEM,. and the uv-visible spectrophotometer. This study suggests that $H_2$ plasma is an effective method for enhancing deposition rate and for producing high quality copper thin films.
The bio-mediated production of calcite crystals by calcinogenic bacteria has great applicable value for the restoration of deteriorated calcareous monuments, because of its high purity and coherency. An investigation of the conditions for calcite production by an alkalophilic Bacillus amyloliquefaciens CMB01 strain was made. Optimal calcite precipitation occurred when the bacterium was cultured at pH 8.0 and 30$^{\circ}C$, and in B4 medium that consisted of 0.4% yeast extract, 0.5% glucose, and 1.5% calcium acetate. Calcium ion of the bacterially induced calcite was analyzed by an inductively coupled plasma (ICP) spectrophotometer. Optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of the calcite revealed a typical rombohedral polycrystalline structure.
We have constructed and operated a discharge heated copper vapor laser which generated green (510.6 nm) and yellow (578.2 nm) light. The plasma tube was made of high purity (99.8%) alumina tube which has an inner diameter 25 mm and a length 106 cm. The electrodes, made of molybdenum sheet, were separated 108 cm apart. The laser gave an average power of 10 W at repetition rate of 5 kHz, charging voltage of 10 kV, Ne buffer gas pressure of 40 mbar, and the laser tube temperature of $1500^{\circ}C$..
Recently, particular attention has been paid to the chiral separation of amino acid enantiomers because of their different biological activities. Hence, the high optical purity of aromatic amino acids is critical because of their important functions in the central nervous system. For the accurate chiral discrimination. we attempted to exploit the crosschecking each enantiomeric migraion orders of aromatic amino acids measured using (+)-18C6H4TA and (-)-18C6H4TA as the chiral selectors under pH 2.0, tris/citric acid buffer.
The purpose of this research is to develop a process and a system to collect, purify and reuse the residual quantity of trimethylgallium, used as a raw material, upon GaN epitaxial growth for LED from a metal organic chemical vapor deposition(MOCVD) equipment. This research reviews whether TMGa collected from the process can be used through a chemical and structural characteristics evaluation. As a result of analyzing the purity using ICP-MS and ICP-AES, 7N high purity (99.99999%) of TMGa was obtained. According to checking the structural change of TMGa through NMR analysis, TMGa having pure $(CH_3)_3Ga$ structure was obtained without structural change. For reliability review of the collected TMGa, u-GaN was deposited using the MOCVD process and an structural, optical and electrical characteristics evaluation was conducted. As a result, it was found out that the reuse was possible.

Controlled Ca impurity implanted inner crack-like pore in the high purity alumina bi-crystal had been created by micro-fabrication technique, which includes ion implantation, photo-lithography, Ar ion milling, and hot press. The morphological change and the growth od crystals formed by heat treatment in Ca doped high purity single crystal alumina, were observed using optical microscopy. The dot was developed and hexagon like crystal appeared on inner surface of crack-like pore after heat treatment. Bar type crystals, probably CaO . $6Al_2O_3$, were observed on the inner surface of 100ppm Ca implanted specimen after 1 hour heat treatment at $1,500^{\circ}C$, but this bar type crystal disappeared after 1 hour heat treatment at $1,600^{\circ}C$. This disappearance means that there should be little increase of Ca solubility limit to alumina and/or changes of diffusion coefficient of Ca in alumina around this temperature.
Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl[Ethyl (R)-2-{4-(6-chloro-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yloxy)phenoxy}propionate] is well known as a herbicide for its specific activity against the weed grasses. This compound was synthesized by the reaction of 4-(6-chloro-1,3-benzoxazol-2-yloxy)phenol and ethyl (S)-O-(p-toluenesulfonyl)lactate in good yields with high optical pure(optical purity: 99.9% up). In this process Walden inversion occurs, whereby the S-configuration of the propionic acid derivative is converted to the R-configuration of the final product. 4-(6-Chloro-l,3-benzoxazol-2-yloxy)phenol was obtained by 5 step reactions in over-all 70% yields using inexpensive raw materials.
Ellipsometric and reflectance measurements were made with magneto-optically self-nulling ellipsometer on the iron surface being passivated. The passivation was induced by abruptly changing potential of the mechanically polished high purity iron from the reduction potential to the oxidation potential in basic solutions. From the differences in the optical paramates(${\Delta},\;{\psi}$) and reflectance (R) between the reduced (film-free) and oxidized (film-covered) states, the thickness(${\tau}$) and optical constants (n, k) of the film in the early stage of its formation were computed as functions of pH and time. From the computed values, it was deduced that the properties of the anodic film did not undergo a drastic change with time which would indicate a transformation of the film before effective passivity is attained, and that the film reached its stady state within a few second. The thickness of anodic film was $14\;{\sim}\;23{\AA}$. The anodic films also seemed to have small values of optical absorption coefficient. The film formed in high pH environments had thinner and denser structure than that formed in low pH.
