This paper presents a new idea of structural design of the optical access network for IPOW(IP over WDM) services. More efficient network can be constructed, because the IP packets are transmitted directly to the WDM without going through an intermediate layer of networks. The wavelength Routing is based on a label switching technology. The ability to transmission of high volume traffics and QoS capability of the optical label switching directly to the end user of the IPOW optical internet networks is provided. As in AON(Active Optical Network) flexible bandwidth on demand subscribers is allocated. By the Simulation of the proposed optical access networks to measure the BER(Bits Error Ratio) at the end of the nodes the network characteristics are analyzed. These results are based on the design of efficient optical network.

The implementation of passive optical network in the access network will result in design of the network that have characteristics of broadband, long distance transmission, transparency. Particularly, optical technologies of WDM and WGR have made a new access network of WDM-PON. This paper proposes the algorithm that determines structural elements of a survivable optical access network, and simulates the cost of various scheme of proposed network architectures. Our results show that multistage star is the most cost effective scheme than the other architectures and show that network architecture designed by proposed algorithm provides survivability with single link and 1st node failure.

In this paper, a new data frame structure for wavelength routing in optical ring access network(ORAN) is designed and the functions of each field in the frame are defined. In addition, the IP packet transmission to the network layer corresponding to the newly proposed structure of the protocol stack is newly presented. Tha data transmission protocol design techniques of ORAN was proposed. IP packet and broadcasting packet transmission within the sub-network, and the IP packet transmission to other sub-network was shown through the process illustration. In the process, the encapsulation and framing process of the wavelength information to routing has been described in detail. And each step takes place in a packet transfer process is demonstrated. A ring type optical access network protocol is not yet research field. ORAN data transfer protocol to send/receive module structure of a subscriber node and a control node of the two rings which analyzed the results are shown. The high-speed Internet solution is proposed that by using wavelength routing the packet transport protocol for ORAN is designed.

In this paper, we propose optical subscriber access network to eliminate multiple access interference using 2 dimensional(D) optical frequency and time domain CDMA method. We have numerically analyzed the characteristics of proposed system. It is seen that the excess intensity noise is the major limiting factor to the system. Also it is seen that the number of simultaneous subscribers is four times as large as the conventional ID optical system under the same bit error ratio.
The Internet traffic is forecasted to grow at a compound annual rate of 21 % from 2013 to 2018, according to surveys carried out by Cisco [1]. Network resources are significantly over-provisioned in today's networks, and it is quite common to see link utilization in the 30-40% range [2]. Additionally, the multi-media services have widely divergent bandwidth and Quality of Experience (QoE) requirements. Unfortunately, the huge transmission capacity will increase the power consumption of network equipment [3]. Applications Coordinated with Transport, Internet Protocol and Optical Networks (ACTION) [4] has been proposed to realize a multi-QoE, application-centric, and highly energy-efficient network that leverages flexible elastic optical network technologies [5-7]. This paper provides key network technologies for realizing the ACTION, which are a virtual optical slice core network and a Time Division Multiplexing (TDM)-based deterministic active optical access network.
In this paper, we propose ultra-fast multimedia optical subscriber access network using optical frequency domain CDMA method in order to access the multimedia with multiple data rates. We numerically analyze the effects of spectral power distortion in the light source for the optical CDMA system modified PN codes and FBG(Fiber Bragg Grating)s. In the proposed multiple-rate multimedia access optical networks, the performances such as BER(Bit Error Rate) are the same for all data regardless of data rates in the case of the same number of simultaneous ONU. In the proposed ultra-fast multimedia optical subscriber access network, the performances for all data are much more improved than those in the conventional system.

Global data center IP traffic is expected to reach 20.6 zettabytes (ZB) by the end of 2021. Intra-data center networks (Intra-DCN) will account for 71.5% of the data center traffic flow and will be the largest portion of the traffic. The understanding of traffic distribution in IntraDCN is still sketchy. It causes significant amount of bandwidth to go unutilized, and creates avoidable choke points. Conventional transport protocols such as Optical Packet Switching (OPS) and Optical Burst Switching (OBS) allow a one-sided view of the traffic flow in the network. This therefore causes disjointed and uncoordinated decision-making at each node. For effective resource planning, there is the need to consider joining the distributed with centralized management which anticipates the system's needs and regulates the entire network. Methods derived from Kalman filters have proved effective in planning road networks. Considering the network available bandwidth as data transport highways, we propose an intelligent enhanced SDN concept applied to OBS architecture. A management plane (MP) is added to conventional control (CP) and data planes (DP). The MP assembles the traffic spatio-temporal parameters from ingress nodes, uses Kalman filtering prediction-based algorithm to estimate traffic demand. Prior to packets arrival at edges nodes, it regularly forwards updates of resources allocation to CPs. Simulations were done on a hybrid scheme (1+1) and on the centralized OBS. The results demonstrated that the proposition decreases the packet loss ratio. It also improves network latency and throughput-up to 84 and 51%, respectively, versus the traditional scheme.

Optical telecommunication has been growing at a rate that exceeds even the "Moore′s Law". However, while the electronic revolution has allowed everyone to have his/her own PC, the optical revolution is still confined to the long-haul network such that the individual end users are still connected to an electronic metro/access networks. However, given the rapid increase in the data traffic (e.g., multimedia), the optical edge that separates the individual end users from optical networks will eventually have to include the metro/acces networks. In this paper, the performance of the optical code-division multiple access (OCDMA) technology on a plastic optical fiber (POF) access network, which had received much attention due to its low weight, large core diameter, flexibility, easy installation, and especially its high bandwidth, is analyzed. Recently, POF was a very attractive candidate for transmission media in an access network based on OCDMA technology. But the conventional OCDMA system only allows finite units to transmit and access simultaneously according to the number of channels which are restricted by BER, and so, in this paper, to resolve this problem a novel multi-priority reservation protocol is also proposed. By using this reservation scheme and a distributed arbitration algorithm, channel collision and destination conflict could be avoided. And this protocol can efficiently support the transmission of multimedia messages that require the different time-delay. The network throughput and average delay using various system parameters have been investigated by numerical analysis and simulation experiments. These results shows that the multi-priority reservation protocol in this POF access network based on OCDMA technology is valid and efficient.
