DC-DC Converter Using a Coreless Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Transformer (코어 없는 PCB 변압기를 이용한 DC-DC 컨버터)

  • This paper describes the modeling and experimental results of coreless printed circuit board (PCB) based transformer that can be used for power conversion at high frequency operation. The principle of using coreless PCB based transformer in 2MHz, 10W class ZVS Flyback DC-DC converter has been successfully demonstrated. The maximum power conversion efficiency is 79%. Even for high operating frequency, an efficiency greater than 70% can be obtained with under 1% regulation error.

  • This paper presents a Single-phase Semi-Bridge PWM Converter, which features Continuos Conduction Mode and Phase-adjusted Unipolar PWM Method. The reduced conduction losses are achieved by the employment of a single converter, instead of the typical configuration composed of a front end rectifier followed by a boost converter. Theoretical principle of operation, a design example and Simulation results of a 3kW Semi-Bridge PWM converter with 220 Vrms input voltage and 400 Vdc output voltage are presented.

  • In this paper, an improved ZCS-PWM boost converter is proposed to minimize conduction loss by flowing resonant current only through the auxiliary circuit. The operation principle of the proposed converter is explained and design procedure is established. Experimental results are presented to verify the theoretical analysis.

  • This paper presents a zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) boost converter using a coupled inductor. It utilizes an additional winding to the boost inductor and an auxiliary diode. The ZVS characteristic of the proposed converter reduces the switching losses of the active power switches and raises the power conversion efficiency. The principle of operation and a system analysis are presented. The theoretical analysis and performance of the proposed converter were verified with a 100W experimental prototype operating at a 107 kHz switching frequency.

  • A three-level ZCT(Zero Current Transition) IGBT inverter is presented for high power IGBT inverters. The concept of ZCT for the conventional boost converter is extended to the three-level inverter. Moreover, in order to improve the reliability of inverter, midpoint charge balance problem of the three-level inverter is analyzed with respect 150kw, 20kHz prototype are presented to verify the principle of ZCT Operation.

  • A 360-degree viewable three-dimensional display based on integral imaging is proposed. The cylindrically arranged point light source array which is generated by electroluminescent (EL) pinhole film reconstructs 360-degree viewable virtual 3D image at the center of the cylinder. In this paper, the principle of operation and experimental results are presented.

  • This paper proposed the two-transistor forward circuit using PFC, lossless snubber and synchronous rectifier for low voltage and high current output. The principle of operation, feature and design considerations is illustrated and verified through the experiment with a 200W(5V, 40A) 100kHz MOSFET based experimental circuit.

  • AS a main Power Supply of the Railroad Vehicles, a three-Level ZVZCS DC/DC Converter is proposed in this paper. The proposed three-Level DC/DC Converter achieves zero voltage and zero current switching for the main switches. Its attribute is that the voltage across the switches is half the value of the input voltage. Also. using a diode and secondary side of the transformer, and simple auxiliary circuits it achieves zero current switching of the auxiliary switches. The principle operation and simulation results are included.
