Significant findings concerning the cause of the gardening revolution of the eighteenth century in England, its landscape style and contribution to a new style are concluded as follows: 1. The English landscape garden is regarded as a great revolution in the history of landscape architecture, and it was in the eighteenth century, in England, that garden and landscape first came together. 2. For at no time in history has there been such general interest in gardens and in the total physical landscape, so much writing and criticism and open debate. 3. Garden design did not become a definite art form in England until the eighteenth century. During the period it can be seen that there were developing three distinct types of garden, that is, the picturesque garden, the 'poetic' garden and 'abstract' garden. 4. Also developing was a new appreciation for natural forms and natural landscape, expressed in painting, poetry and garden design, and the landscape gardeners tried bard to malce country scenery look as though man had not had a hand in it. Eventually these open spaces contributed to a new type of spatial form development of naturalistic landscape style which is today taken for granted as a normal component of the landscape architect's palette.

Seismic isolation is a viable strategy for protecting safety-related nuclear structures from the effects of moderate to severe earthquake shaking. Although seismic isolation has been deployed in nuclear structures in France and South Africa, it has not seen widespread use because of limited new build nuclear construction in the past 30 years and a lack of guidelines, codes and standards for the analysis, design and construction of isolation systems specific to nuclear structures. The funding by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission of a research project to the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and MCEER/University at Buffalo facilitated the writing of a soon-to-be-published NUREG on seismic isolation. Funding of MCEER by the National Science Foundation led to research products that provide the technical basis for a new section in ASCE Standard 4 on the seismic isolation of safety-related nuclear facilities. The performance expectations identified in the NUREG and ASCE 4 for seismic isolation systems, and superstructures and substructures are described in the paper. Robust numerical models capable of capturing isolator behaviors under extreme loadings, which have been verified and validated following ASME protocols, and implemented in the open source code OpenSees, are introduced.

1999년 10월 강원대학교에서 열렸던 한국지구과학회 추계학술발표회에서 발표되었던 한글 요약문들을 훑어보았다. 요약문에는 외국어표현과 분명치 않은 말들과 너무 긴 문장들이 섞여있다. 외국말 표현은 일본어, 영어, 중국어 표현 방법들과 단어들이다. 지구과학 요약문과 논문을 한글로 잘 쓰는 방안을 제안한다. 그 방안에는 일반교양 과학책을 많이 읽고 한 문장이 20 어절이 넘지 않도록 하며 지도교수나 동료들에게 요약문의 비평을 부탁하고 그들의 비평을 받아들일 열린 마음이 포함된다. 저자들이 이 논문 표 2에 있는 여러 가지 잘못을 범하지 않도록 관심을 가져야 한다.

데이터의 가치 증대, 연구 방법의 패러다임 변화 그리고 오픈 사이언스 등의 구체적 발현은 연구가 더 이상 기존의 학술지와 같은 텍스트 중심이 아닌 데이터 기반으로 전환되고 있음을 나타내고 있다. 본 연구에서는 아직 국내 연구가 미흡한 연구 데이터 관리 및 서비스를 위한 핵심요소와 해당 기능적 요건을 도출하기 위하여 DCC, ICPSR, ANDS 그리고 DataONE에 대한 서비스를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 도출된 핵심 요소는 'DMP 작성지원', '데이터 기술', '데이터 저장', '데이터 공유 및 접근', '데이터 인용' 그리고 '데이터 관리 교육' 등이다. 또한 도출된 핵심 요소에 기능적 요건을 제시함으로써 향후 실질적으로 RDM 서비스를 구축 및 운영하고자 할 때 본 연구의 내용을 적용할 수 있을 것이다.

Korea officially joined the ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array) project on August 17, 2014. Korea was allowed to apply for the Cycle 2 call-for-proposal before joining the project. Korea submitted 17 proposals, and 4 of them were selected as high-priority. The fund of an 11-year Korean ALMA project in the KASI (Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute) was approved. The project team formulated an ARC (ALMA Regional Center) node at the KASI and already started its supporting activities for the Korean Astronomical Society. The team also set up a future development plan for ASTE (Atacama Submillimeter Telescope Experiment) and ALMA. A couple of engineers are now doing concept design of a multi-beam receiver system for the ASTE, Because of the ALMA participation, Korea could also access open-use time of ASTE and Mopra telescopes organized by Japan. As of this writing, EACOA (East Asia Core Observatories Association) is now under discussion on making an organization called "East Asian Observatory" and the possible operation of JCMT (James Clerk Maxwell Telescope). I will briefly mention the future prospect of these activities.

In traditional approach, enterprise-wide consistent security policy enforcement for applications is very difficult task. Therefore, industry is now moving towards new unified enterprise application security concept that consist of centralized authentication and authorization mechanism. The eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML); an XML-based standard defined by OASIS, is most suitable choice which can support centralized, role based, context aware access control mechanism. It is designed to provide universal standard for writing authorization policies and access control request/response language for managing access to the resources. This paper includes a brief overview on XACML and discusses its benefits, limitations and a data flow process. We propose a new generic access control architecture that supports enterprise wide centralized application level access control mechanism using XACML. The other benefits which can be achieved through this architecture are, reduce adnministration cost and complexity, support of heterogeneous computing platforms, centralized monitoring system, automatic fail over, scalability and availability, open standard based solution and secure communication.

Since the internet is open to public in 1990, electronic commerce(EC) user has increase rapidly. Now EC is considered not only as communication method but also as new economical activities. EC is a kind of new commerce model which uses electronic means. And EC has global characteristics so that many country's legislation which regulates it differently makes an obstacle to vital of EC. The purpose of this study is to examine legal problems of internet electronic commerce. First, there are some legal problems whether electronic document has same legal function like traditional documents. Second, electronic signature must has authenticity, integrity, non-repudiation, writing and confidentiality in order to use looks like common signature. Finally, electronic contract is concluded on principle of mutual agreement. It is apparent that the concept of arrival is applied to the date and place in conclusion of electronic contract.

A GUI based pre/post processor program, which is based on the MFC and OpenGL library in the Windows O/S, hee been developed for NUFLEX Using this program, users are able to generate and modify structured or unstructured grid geometries, set all the parameters for the solver, and observe the results of the simulation in graphic view by vector or scalar plots. The mesh geometry data can be imported from or exported to other programs by supporting functions for reading from and writing to CGNS data format files.

We have compared Korean and American mathematics curriculums in 5 areas: whole number(concepts and its operations); geometry; pattern and relations; measurements; statistics and probability. We have found significant differences in geometry area. Korean curriculums contain simple planar figures (circles, triangles, rectangles, and squres) and some of the spatial figures until 3rd grades. But in America they learn various planar and spatial fugures(cone, pyramid, triangular prism, etc) since the 1st grade starts. They also start the 1st grade by dealing with topological concepts like open/closed, inside/outside, order, etc. As the grade goes on, students learn other geometrical concepts like congruence, symmetry, 3-dimensional views. We also found that American curriculum focuses on students' activities and courages communication through projects, groupwork, journal writing, etc. It's also superior in respects of motivation, and connections with real life and other subjects. Korean curriculum needs more improvements in these aspects. Furthermore for lower graders reviewing sections need to be enhanced for feedback.

Let 𝒜_n be the class of analytic functions f(z) of the form f(z) = z + ∑^∞_k=n+1 α_kz^k, n ∈ ℕ defined on the open unit disk 𝔻, and let $${\Omega}_n:=\{f{\in}{\mathcal{A}}_n:\|zf^{\prime}(z)-f(z)\|<{\frac{1}{2}},\;z{\in}{\mathbb{D}}\}$$. In this paper, we make use of differential subordination technique to obtain sufficient conditions for the class Ω_n. Writing Ω := Ω₁, we obtain inclusion properties of Ω with respect to functions which map 𝔻 onto certain parabolic regions and as a consequence, establish a relation connecting the parabolic starlike class 𝒮_P and the uniformly starlike UST. Various radius problems for the class Ω are considered and the sharpness of the radii estimates is obtained analytically besides graphical illustrations.
