  • The needs for the OpenGL-family of the rendering library standards are highly increasing, especially for the graphical human-machine Interface on the various systems including smart phones and personal information devices. Additionally, in the case of safety-critical market for avionics, military, medical and automotive applications, OpenGL SC, the safety critical profile of the OpenGL library plays the major role for the graphical interfaces. In this paper, we represent our OpenGL SC emulation library on the OpenGL 1.x rendering pipeline which is widely available on the existing embedded systems, to provide the features of OpenGL SC standard cost-effectively. Our method can provide the OpenGL SC features at the low development cost on the embedded systems, and its implementation is also one of the fundamental elements for the emulation of embedded systems in the PC environment. Our final result now works on both of Linux-based and VxWORKS systems, showing correct execution results at the reasonable speed.

  • The article suggests criteria of dividing transport systems into systems of limited and open access. Possibilities of implementing principles of the open access in conjunction with the adaptive control at the railway transport have been analyzed. The author makes a grounded conclusion that the development of transport systems based on the open access and adaptive control can play a positive role in overcoming the global instability of the economy and form prerequisites of its stable grows.

  • This paper considers the implementation and experiments of an open-loop Cylindrical Vibratory Gyroscope(CGV). An open-loop CGV composed of thin cylindrical vibrating element, electromagnetic drive and pick-off element with open-loop control was designed and fabricated. The experimental performance tests of the open-loop CGV were done using a temperature chambered rate table. Also, the limitations of open-loop CGV were analyzed and the solution for the limitations was proposed.

  • An open architecture manufacturing strategy intends to integrate manufacturing components on a single platform so that a particular component can be easily added and/or replaced. Therefore, the control scheme based upon the open architecture concept is hardware-independent. In this paper, a modular and object oriented approach for a PC-based open robot control system is investigated. A standard reference model for robot systems, which consists of three modules; hardware module, operating system module, and application software module, is first proposed. Then, a PC-based Open Robot Controller(PC-ORC), which can reconfigure robot control systems in various production environments, is developed. The PC-ORC is built upon the object-oriented method, and allows an easy implementation and modification of various modules. The PC-ORC consists of basic softwares, application objects, and additional hardware device on the PC Platform. The application objects are: sequencer, computation unit, servo control, ancillary equipment, external sensor control, and so on. In order to demonstrate the applicability of the PC-ORC, the proposed PC-ORC configuration is applied to an industrial SCARA robot system.

  • The role of the interconnect network, which connects computing nodes to each other, is important in high-performance computing (HPC) systems. In recent years, the peripheral component interconnect express (PCIe) has become a promising interface as an interconnection network for high-performance and cost-effective HPC systems having the features of non-transparent bridge (NTB) technologies. OpenSHMEM is a programming model for distributed shared memory that supports a partitioned global address space (PGAS). Currently, little work has been done to develop the OpenSHMEM library for PCIe-interconnected HPC systems. This paper introduces a prototype implementation of the OpenSHMEM library through a switchless interconnect network using PCIe NTB to provide a PGAS programming model. In particular, multi-interrupt, multi-thread-based data transfer over the OpenSHMEM shared memory model is applied at the implementation level to reduce the latency and increase the throughput of the switchless ring network system. The implemented OpenSHMEM programming model over the PCIe NTB switchless interconnection network provides a feasible, cost-effective HPC system with a PGAS programming model.

  • In this paper, we introduce the concept of fuzzy ${\gamma}$-quasi open sets which are generalizations of fuzzy ${\gamma}$-open sets, and obtain some basic properties of such fuzzy sets. Also we introduce and study the concepts of fuzzy ${\gamma}$-quasi continuous mapping and fuzzy ${\gamma}$-quasi open(closed) mapping.

  • This paper presents an open architecture controller (OAC) for machining systems and describes the OAC testbed at Seoul National University. Because our OAC is designed for fully open systems, it does not depend on any specific hardware or software components. This openness includes software reusability which enables integration of a wide range of monitoring and control features. In addition to openness, our OAC system provides guaranteed real-time performance, an important requirement for advanced manufacturing.

  • Recently, introduction of Open Source Software into informatization of the government and public sector has been actively examined, however, Open Source Software is being rarely adopted due to the lack of verified and reliable data with regard to the criteria, process, performance and stability for introduction of Open Source Software. In this paper, the process, method and plan for performance verification for introduction of Open Source Software into mission critical systems of the government and public sector are suggested in order to solve the aforesaid problem Specially, a test system to judge whether or not to adopt Open Source Software in school affairs system of the NEIS(National Education Information System) of the Korean government was set up, and the method and process of performance verification by stage in addition to feasibility study were applied to the test system for verification. Based on the result of performance evaluation in the test system, the application of Linux to school affairs system of the NEIS is being successfully practiced. It is expected that this study will be a guideline to technical review process and performance verification method as necessary to introduce Open Source Software into the mission critical systems of government and public agencies.

  • The vast mechanical systems could be classified as closed loop system, open loop system and open & closed (switching) system. In the closed loop system, the kinematics and dynamics of 3-D mechanisms will be reviewed and closed form solutions using the direction cosine matrix method and reflection transformation method will be introduced. In the open loop system, kinematic & dynamic analysis methods regarding the redundant system which has more degrees of freedom in joint space than those of task space are reviewed and discussed. Finally, switching system which changes its phase between closed and open loop motion is investigated with the principle of dynamical balance. Among switching systems, the human gait in biomechanics and humanoid in robotics are presented.
