An hydraulic experiment was carried out in an open channel flume in order to improve the technique of designing shape of the sluice used for tidal power generation, which greatly affects the economical efficiency of the construction of a tidal power plant. To predict the influence of change in the major design parameters relating to the sluice shape on the water discharge capability of the sluice, it was necessary to perform a precise experiment that is discriminated to previous feasibility studies or design projects. For this purpose, by installing various flow straighteners and rectifying structures inside the water supply system and the rectifying tank, the flow in the flume was stabilized as tranquil as possible. In addition, the measuring instruments and the location of installing them were carefully determined so as to minimize the errors intervened during the measurement of water discharge and water level. The method of estimating head difference between upstream and downstream of the sluice was also developed by taking account of the head loss due to the friction at the bottom and side walls in the flume.

In this study, the analysis results were presented for the experimental data of sluice for tidal power generation that were installed in an open channel flume. The experiment was carried out for the six different sluice models of different widths and bottom heights of the sluice throat section. If the side shape of the sluice was the same, the coefficient of discharge generally increased by increasing the width of the throat section. However, when the water discharge was small and the upstream water level was low, the coefficient of discharge increased for a while but decreased later with the increase of the throat section width. In addition, the coefficient of discharge was larger when the bottom height of the throat section was higher, regardless of the width of the throat section. It was concluded that the values of coefficient of discharge that were frequently used in the previous feasibility studies were underestimated so that should be adjusted to higher values.
Cooperative associations are established in order to enhance the rights and the interests of their members and serve the local communities, and actually do much for the local society. And among these, consumer cooperatives are spontaneously founded, particularly in the spirit of mutual help, in order to promote the common welfare of the members. Meanwhile, because the current medical law qualifys noncommercial corporation to open medical institution, consumer cooperative and noncommercial- corporation cooperative which are established under the Cooperative Act have the right to do. However, though cooperative association should be founded for common interests of the members who are weaker parties of society, it became rapidly to be abused as means of circumvention of law. Especially as National Health Insurance Corporation stepped up the investigation and the collection of unfair profits against the hospital owned by non-medical personnel who are unable to establish a medical institution, setting up medical institutions as a roundabout way to avoid the restricts dramatically increased in number. In this study, we are going to introduce the current dualised normative system regulating the establishment of a medical cooperative association, and find a way to improve the system and make up for the week points. And we will look though the present situation about medical cooperative association's opening, operating, and closing, and review the normative and systematic improving plans.

Automotive turbochargers have become common in gasoline engines as well as diesel engines. They are excellent devices to effectively increase fuel efficiency and power of the engines, but they unfortunately cause several noise problems. The noises are classified into mechanical noises induced from movement of a rotating shaft and aerodynamic noises by air flow in turbochargers. In addition to, there is a mechanical noise caused from movement of an actuator, electronically controlling a wastegate valve. It is called as valve rattle noise. The actuator is connected to a valve through a linkage. The noise occurs only if the valve is open, where the linkage is freely contact to neighbor structures without being constrained by any external forces. This condition allows impacts by the pulsation of exhaust gas, and the vibration from the impacts spreads out through turbine housing, causing the rattle noise. The noise is not in mechanical operating wastegate turbochargers because the linkage of an actuator is strongly connected by actuating force. For the electronic wastegate turbocharger, this paper proposed a test device to show the noise generating mechanism with a small vibration motor having an unbalanced shaft. It also shows how to reduce the noise - reduction of linkage clearances, inserting wave washers into a connection, and applying loose fitting in bushing embracing a valve lever to turbine housing.

Due to the paradigm of open science and advanced digital information technology, data sharing and re-use have been actively conducted and considered data-intensive in a wide variety of disciplines. This study aims to investigate the intellectual structure portrayed by the research products re-using the data sets from ICPSR. For the purpose of this study, a total of 570 research products published in 2017 from the ICPSR site were collected and analyzed in two folds. First, the authors and publications of those research products were analyzed in order to show the trends of research using ICPSR data. Authors tend to be affiliated with university or research institute in the United States. The subject areas of journals are recognized into Social Sciences, Health, and Psychology. In addition, a network with clustering analysis was conducted with using co-word occurrence from the titles of the research products. The results show that there are 12 clusters, mental health, tabocco effect, disorder in school, childhood, and adolescence, sexual risk, child injuries, physical activity, violent behavior, survey, family role, women, problem behavior, gender differences in research areas. The structure portrayed by ICPSR data re-uses demonstrates that substantial number of studies in Medicine have been conducted with a perspective of social sciences.
Isotocin (IT), a nonapeptide homolog of oxytocin in mammals, has been suggested to be involved in physiological processes including social behaviors, stress responses, and osmoregulation in teleost fish. To study its structure and function, the gene encoding the IT precursor was cloned from the genomic DNA and brain cDNA of the cinnamon clownfish, Amphiprion melanopus. The IT precursor gene consists of three exons separated by two introns, and encodes an open reading frame of 156 amino acid (aa) residues, comprising a putative signal peptide of 19 aa, a mature IT protein of 9 aa, a proteolytic processing site of 3 aa, and 125 aa of neurophysin. Tissue-specific analysis of the IT precursor transcript indicated its expression in the brain and gonads of A. melanopus. To examine its osmoregulatory effects, the salinity of the seawater (34 ppt) used for rearing A. melanopus was lowered to 15 ppt. Histological analysis of the gills indicated the apparent disappearance of an apical crypt on the surface of the gill lamella of A. melanopus, as pavement cells covered the surface upon acclimation to the lower salinity. The level of Na+/K+-ATPase activity in the gills was increased during the initial stage of acclimation, followed by a decrease to its normal level, suggesting its involvement in osmoregulation and homeostasis. The only slight increase in the level of IT precursor transcript in the A. melanopus brain upon low-salinity acclimation suggested that IT played a minor role, if any, in the process of osmoregulation.
An on-going creative process was the major principle of Kantor's artistic endeavors. Kantor's emphasis on process grew out of his frustration with the experience of creation being isolated from the audience in the present time, during the moments of encounter. At the same time, however, Kantor was always aware of the fact that the first night of each and every performance that he made was the last point of his creative intervention. Despite being performed live in the present time, Kantor saw theatre essentially as an end product. This does not mean that Kantor abandoned the concept of on-going process, for process was for the artist a means to reject the idea of a finished work of art and to denounce the feeling of satisfaction derived from the traditional denouement in representational theatre. For him, theatre that dominated his time isolated the audience from the art work and the artist, and from this perspective his continual emphasis on process should be understood as an aesthetic principle in order to open up and expand the dimension of art into the realm of the spectator so that the experiences of both the artist and spectator may coexist. The heaviest barrier that separated the artist and his work from its audience was the creative structure that governed Western art. In theatre it was the dramatic structure that was the main object of his series of severe challenges. Not only did it fail to represent reality but it distorted reality, creating nothing but artificial illusion. Under this condition, all that was permitted to the audience was mirages. However, Kantor never completely discarded illusion from his theatre. The point for him was always to created a circumstance where the illusory reality of drama comes to exist within the dimensions of our reality. It was Kantor's belief that instead of a total denial of illusion, his theatre should strategically accommodate illusion which comes from reality. And, the aim of Kantor's theatrical experiments was to invite the audience into this ambience and transform the experience of his audience into a much more participatory one. This paper traces the ways in which Kantor transgressed the dominating conventions of representational, literary theatre, and how such attempts induced an alternative mode of spectatorship. The study will begin from an investigation into Kantor's attitude towards illusion and reality, and then move onto a closer inspection of how he spatially and dramaturgically materialized his concepts on stage, giving special focus on Wielopole, Wielopole.
The space before modern times is fixed and closed, then that after modern times is flexible and open. Based on the concept of space, the modern art exhibition hall gradually shifts from the interior space of a building to the outdoor space, giving birth to the concept of outdoor art pavilion. Based on this background, we analyzed and learned about the latest deformable art pavilions, focused on the investigation of its space performance characteristics and the case analysis, fully understood the design principles of deformable pavilions, and proposed the basic design directions and strategies for future research. Firstly, through learning the theories of transformable space, the characteristics and concept range of deformable space are understood. Secondly, based on the preliminary research and analysis of art pavilions, the performance characteristics are summarized. Thirdly, the pattern of deformable space and the method of reflecting the characteristics of deformable space are investigated based on cases. After summarizing the case analysis, we identified the differences of different art pavilions between deformable modes and space characteristics, and analyzed the causes. This work provides a basis for distinguishing the transformation patterns of the deformable space, and reveals the changes in space concepts and the expansion of space meaning in future architectural space design.
This study aims to implement a model for developing participatory labor archives for shipbuilding labor archives in young-do, Busan, and to find possibilities of building digital labor archives as participatory ones. The methodology of locality documentation has been applied, and locality archives accepting participation of people with experiences from shipbuilding industry have been examined. Omeka was applied because it is an open-source software and provides additional functions which support various user participations and web-publishing. Following the the model, firstly, a preliminary investigation was conducted and research of participatory agents and records was proceeded. Secondly, it collected and described information of the agents and records by institutions with records and provenance. Thirdly, it developed archival contents specific to events, persons and workplaces in association with archival information. For the follow-up study, plugins were installed and tested to apply for further experiment with participation.

Despite the continuing emphasis on the importance of scientific inquiry, research studies have commented that authentic scientific inquiry is not implemented in school science classroom due to a lack of understanding of scientific inquiry by the teacher. The purpose of this study is to investigate understanding of scientific inquiry developed by beginning teachers through open-ended questionnaire and semi-structured interview. They voluntarily set up the goal of inquiry-based classes, planned inquiry-based classes, shared and reflected their teaching experience in professional learning community for more than a year. It appeared that participant teachers understood scientific inquiry as 'what scientists do', 'process how students do science' and 'science teaching methods.' All teacher participants described scientific inquiry as 'what scientists do', and understood 'the process of doing scientific investigation to solve problems related to natural phenomenon' and 'the process of constructing scientific knowledge using scientific practice.' Two participant teachers seemed to understand scientific inquiry as a 'teaching method' based on the understanding of the process how scientists or students do science. Participant teachers had a limited understanding of scientific inquiry that it is the same as laboratory works or hands-on activities prior to engaging the professional learning community, but they developed an understanding of scientific inquiry that there are various ways to conduct scientific inquiry after engaging in professional learning community.
