  • The article clarifies and divorces the concepts of distance learning systems "distance learning", "distance education", "distance technologies", "open education". The central concept of the DO system is "distance learning"; - an assessment of the use of distance technologies in the system of higher professional education in Ukraine was carried out, which showed that the dominant teaching technology at the moment is the technology of teaching using cases (case technology on paper and electronic media). It is determined that distance technologies based on the active use of technical teaching aids (network technologies, telecommunication technologies) find little use in the system of higher professional education in Ukraine.

The Role of Open Source Software to Create Digital Libraries and Standards Assessment

  • Open-source software developments are basically Internet-based communities that voluntarily collaborate in developing software on the Internet and such Internet communities have become an important cultural and economic phenomenon. As a result, the emergence of open-source software has presented a challenge to the traditional offerings by providing free alternatives. The objective of this article is to review the possibility of the adoption of open source software in the creation of digital libraries, highlights advantages and disadvantage preservations. Among our objective also explaining the request of such software at the present time and the criteria evaluated in the digital preservation through surveying the best open source software from the reality of intellectual production, and standards that are being built to evaluate and choose what software to create a digital library without other software available. To achieve the above objectives, we shed the light on the top 11 open-source software to manage Libraries in addition to standards that may represent the basic building block for the selection of the appropriate systems to the needs of the digital library. This article relied on the descriptive approach by reviewing a series of studies and scientific research works related to the subject of the current study. Accordingly, the most prominent of the findings of this work is its illustration of the close association between open source software and the library community, both of which represent free culture. Also it is shown that the selection process of open source software has some obstacles most notably as there are no clear and reliable criteria for selecting these systems. Current study has concluded a set of recommendations, notably awareness of the role and importance of open source software and the facilities it provides in managing digital content.

'실행공동체' 관점에서 과학교실문화 분석을 위한 조사도구의 개발 및 적용 (Development and Application of the Measuring Instrument for the Analysis of Science Classroom Culture from the Perspective of 'Community of Practice')

  • 이 연구의 목적은 실행공동체(Community of Practice)의 관점에서 과학교실문화를 분석하기 위한 조사도구를 개발하고 이를 적용하여 그 활용가능성을 확인하는 데 있다. 문헌연구를 통하여 실행공동체의 구조적 요인을 설정하고 요인에 따른 예비문항을 개발하였다. 초등학교 4학년, 6학년, 중학교 2학년 총 219명의 학생들에게 예비조사를 실시하여 문항 타당도 및 신뢰도를 검증하였다. 탐색적 요인분석을 통하여 수정된 도구는 '학습 책임감'(responsibility for learning), '공동의 관심사'(common interest), '호혜적 인간관계'(mutual relationships), '개방적 참여'(open participation), '실행'(practice)의 총 5개 요인 27개 문항으로 구성되었다. 개발된 조사도구를 사용하여 초등학교 4학년과 6학년 학생 총 706명을 대상으로 본 조사를 실시하고 확인적 요인분석 및 신뢰도 분석을 실시하였다. 이를 통해 조사도구가 타당한 도구임을 확인하였으며, 초등학교 과학교실 공동체의 특성을 구조적 요인별, 학년별, 성별, 교사 특성별로 비교하여 분석하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 개발된 조사 도구는 공동체적 관점에서 과학교실을 분석하는데 활용될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 바람직한 과학교실의 공동체를 위한 시사점을 제안할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

순환식과 비순환식 수경재배 방식에 따른 파프리카 재배온실 내 미생물의 집락형성단위(CFU) 조사 (Investigation of Colony Forming Unit (CFU) of Microorganisms in the Paprika-grown Greenhouses Using Open and Closed Soilless Culture Systems)

  • 본 연구는 순환식과 비순환식 수경재배 온실 내 특정 구역에서 잠재적인 병발생 가능성을 추정하기 위하여 미생물 시료의 채취 및 배양을 통하여 집락형성단위수(CFU)를 분석하였다. 시료의 채취는 배지를 기준으로 각 구역별 3cm 간격으로 $25cm^2$의 면적에 대해 4개의 구역을 각 온실별로 3회 반복하여 이루어졌다. 비순환식과 순환식 수경재배 온실에서 암면과 코이어를 배지로 사용하는 각 2개 농가를 조사대상으로 하였다. 진균류의 경우 비순환식 수경재배 온실에서 유의적으로 높은 수준의 집락형성단위수(CFU)가 관찰되었다. 세균류의 경우는 유의적인 차이는 관찰되지 않았지만, 순환식 수경재배 온실이 비교적 낮은 경향을 나타냈다. 위치 별 CFU의 비교에서는 순환식과 비순환식 모두 배액의 발생에 따른 환경조건의 변화가 적은 배지 부분에서 가장 낮은 수준의 CFU가 관찰되었다. 주성분 분석결과 온실 내 배액의 이동 경로 상에서 수집된 시료가 미생물의 개체수 변화에 많이 기여하고 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 순환식 수경재배 온실은 비순환식 수경재배 온실에 비해 미생물 증식억제에 유리한 조건에 있으며, 이는 외부 환경에 비해 비교적 단순한 생태계로 구성된 온실의 조건을 고려해 보았을 때 잠재적인 병 발생 가능성이 상대적으로 낮음을 의미한다.

  • 본 연구는 조직의 특징과 기업의 성과에 대한 실증 분석을 실시한 내용이다. 기업의 조직의 문화를 이룬 특징은 바로 기업의 성패를 좌우하게 된다. 기업의 폐쇄적인 문화적 특징을 극복하고 기업가적 지향성, 권한위임, 조직문화의 개방성 및 R&D역량은 기업의 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미친다. 이러한 기업의 특성은 개방형 혁신을 수용하여 혁신적인 성과를 창출하는데도 긍정적인 역할을 한다. 기업의 특성은 외부자원에 대한 수용과 활용을 긍정적으로 생각하게 된다. 이러한 변인들은 결국 기업의 조직의 특성이 기업의 성과를 창출하는 요인이 된다는 것을 검증하였다. 이러한 과정 속에서 개방형 혁신과 외부자원의 수용도 기업의 성과를 창출하는데 긍정적인 요인으로 작용하고 있음을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 내용은 기업의 조직문화를 구축하는 변인에 대한 학술적 기반을 제공하였으며, 기업의 조직문화를 운영하는 리더의 역할에 대한 실무적 태도를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구는 여성 기업을 중심으로 검증을 실시하였다. 추후 연구에서는 기업의 전반적인 특성을 고려하여 연구를 진행할 예정이다. 또한, 지역적 한계에 대한 극복을 반영하여 국내 중소기업의 성과 창출을 위한 다양한 변인들을 적용하여 검증하려고 한다.

서양인의 조선여행 기록문을 통한 근대 식생활사(食生活史) 연구 (Study on Modern Food Culture History through Records from Foreigners' Chosun Dynasty Travel in the Enlightenment Period)

  • The study presented attempts to analyze and categorize Chosun's food ingredients and culture through a Western perspective based on 32 representative Western documents pertaining to old Korea. Before modernization, Westerners visited Chosun during their visits to old China or Japan. Westerners were most active in Chosun from the open port period to the annexation of Korea to Japan occupation. They were teachers, missionaries, diplomats, and doctors visiting Chosun with personal goals. In 31 book traveler's journal, it records Chosen's mainly produced ingredients, such as grains, spices, fruits, cabbage, chicken, and chestnuts; foods from Chosen include kimchi, soup, and tofu. Foreigners especially liked foods made of eggs and chicken, but they did not enjoy Chosun's lack of sugar and dairy. Thirty-one book foreigners' records describe Chosun's Ondol, kitchen, crock, fermented foods, low dining tables, and chopsticks. Chosun people liked dog meat, unrestrained drinking culture, sungnyung, and tea culture. Foreign documentation on Chosun's food culture allows modern scholars to learn about Chosun people's lifestyles, as if their lives were a vivid picture.

The Influence of Organizational Culture on Employees' Satisfaction and Commitment in SMEs: A Case Study in Vietnam

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of organizational culture on job satisfaction and organizational commitment among employees in small and medium-sized enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The study hypothesized that organizational culture has a significant influence on employees' satisfaction and that satisfaction also significantly impactsorganizational commitment among employees. The data are collected from a sample of 240 office employees. Structural Equation Modeling is used to determine the influence of organizational culture dimensions,including open working environment, salary, and rewards, empowerment, management style, corporate values, on employees' satisfaction and organizational commitment. The findings showed that the five dimensions of organizational culture positively impact employees' satisfaction and that job satisfaction significantly influences organizational commitment. Thus, job satisfaction serves as the bridge between organizational culture and commitment. The current study contributes to providing a practical insight into the relationships between organizational culture, employees' job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Based on that, managers can develop suitable personnel policies for their organizations to simultaneously enhance employees' performance and satisfaction, which makes them stay with the company.

The Meaningful Association Between Employee Workplace Stress and the Type of Organizational Culture

  • Purpose: The present study investigates if the type of organizational culture influences the level of job-related stress. This study is significant because creating the need to explore the concept to become more informed on the best practices to promote and foster a positive culture that prioritizes workers, it could result in a healthier workforce, improved organizational performance, and success. Research design, data and methodology: Examining previous studies by other researchers was the primary research tool for this study. The organized approach of gathering data and assessing related work was vital in developing a fundamental basis for advancing knowledge on this concept while enhancing theory development and drawing more informed conclusion. Results: These four types, including the clan, adhocracy, hierarchical, and market cultures, contribute significantly in revealing four associations between the two variables, including (i) supportive culture and reduced stress, (ii) high pressure and increased stress, (iii)autonomous culture and variable stress levels, and (iv) open culture and low-stress levels. Conclusions: The literature affirms a multifaceted link between employee workplace stress and organizational culture type. The findings show that these cultures are crucial in influencing the level of stress among employees. All four types were hypothesized to have a significant relationship with job stress.

Implementation of new gestures on the Multi-touch table

  • This paper describes new gestures on the Multi-touch table. The 2 new gestures with 3 fingers are used for minimizing of all windows that is already open and converting Aero mode. We also implement a FTIR (Frustrated Total Internal Reflection) Multi-touch table that consists of sheet of acrylic, infrared LEDs, camera and rear projector. The operation of proposed gestures is verified on the implemented Multi-touch table.

Open Pulled Straw(OPS) 방법에 의한 체외 배양 동결 수정란의 미경산돈 이식 (Gilt Transfer of Cultured Freezing Embryos by Open Pulled Straw(OPS) Methods)

  • In previous studies, we reported that sow which was transferred OPS-freezing embryos not able to deliver a piglet (Kim et al, 2004). This study was conducted to investigate a possibility of gilt as recipients which produce piglets after transfer of OPS-freezing embryos. All transferred embryos were prepared by in vitro production (IVP) system. In vitro culture (IVC) medium used glucose-free NCSU23 supplemented with 5mM sodium pyruvate, 0.5 mM sodium lactate and 4 mg/ml bovine serum albumin for 2 days at $39^{\circ}C$. From day 3 of IVC, 10% fetal bovine serum albumin was added to the culture medium. In preparing of freezing embryos, embryos were treated with 7.5 $\mu g/ml$ cytochalasin-B for 30 min and centrifuged at $13,000{\times}g$ for 13 min. And then, embryos were exposed sequentially to an ethylene glycol (EG) solution, aspirated into open pulled straw (OPS), and plunged or thawed into the liquid nitrogen. In embryo transfer (ET), we used two kinds of type (surgical method vs. non-surgical method). In surgical method of embryo transfer, $55\sim65$ embryo were transferred in both uterine horn of two recipient gilts by plastic straw. Non-surgical method which is like artificial insemination was performed on three gilts. Each 140 frozen embryos were transferred to two gilts and 40 fresh embryos to one gilt. Pregnancy establishment was shown one recipient at 45 days after ET. However, the one recipient was also aborted at 58 days after ET. These results suggest that gilts can be considered as a candidate of recipients for OPS-freezing embryo transfer.
