WHAT we teach, and HOW students experience it, are the primary factors that shape students' understanding and beliefs of what mathematics is all about. Further, students pick up their sense of mathematics from their experience with it. We have seen the results of the approach to "break the subject into pieces and make students master it bit by bit. As an alternative, we strive to create a teaching environment in which students are DOING mathematics and thereby engender selected aspects of "mathematical culture" in the classroom. The vehicle for doing this is the so-called Japanese Open-ended approach to teaching mathematics. We will discuss three aspects of the open-ended approach - process open, end product open, formulating problems open - and the associated approach to assessing learning.

This study analyzes the relationship among environment uncertainty, local infrastructure, flexible-open firm culture, operations performance and marketing performance focus on SMEs. This research has revealed that the relation among firm size, firm type, firm culture, operations performance and marketing performance as well. The findings show that firm has its culture which is preparing environment uncertainty and local infrastructure influence on forming firm culture. Change-oriented and leaning-oriented firm cultures affect operations performance and marketing performance. In conclusion, this study suggests implication and limitations for further research.

Fashion pictorials are recognized as another form of communication method beyond the concept of simply providing information or being artistic photography. Therefore, it is believed that there is necessity to know methods of making a strong impression on people's conscience by effective usage of various presentation techniques that can be used in fashion pictorials. This research studied characteristics of closed form and open form of Wolfflin's precept of forms presented in scene construction. Depaysement technique was classified into three classes which are alien transportation of a part, deformation and ambivalence of an image through literature review of depaysement presentation technique. After studying the concept and characteristics of narrative applicable as the open form, Annie Leibovitz's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" published in an actual fashion magazine was analyzed as an empirical study based on the theoretical research. Through this study, potential of applying depaysement technique as a presentation technique of closed form and narrative as a presentation technique of open form on fashion pictorials was identified. Factors that infuse creativity and achieve uniformity in producing fashion pictorials were shown through analysis of actual fashion pictorials.

As social network service platforms grow and one-person media market expands, people upload their own photos and/or videos through multiple open platforms. However, it can be illegal to upload the digital contents containing the faces of others on the public sites without their permission. Therefore, many people are spending much time and effort in editing such digital contents so that the faces of others should not be exposed to the public. In this paper, we propose an automatic face hiding system called 'autoblur', which detects all the unregistered faces and mosaic them automatically. The system has been implemented using the GitHub MIT open-source 'Face Recognition' which is based on deep learning technology. In this system, two dozens of face images of the user are taken from different angles to register his/her own face. Once the face of the user is learned and registered, the system detects all the other faces for the given photo or video and then blurs them out. Our experiments show that it produces quick and correct results for the sample photos.

Under the Chapter 1, Article 3(Protection of Rights and Interests of Viewers) of the Broadcasting Act, the viewers should be able to participate in decision-making with regard to planning, programming, or production of broadcast programs. For this, the public service broadcasting, KBS is operating two kinds of system such as 'viewer-evaluation program' and 'viewer-participation program' that televises the broadcasting programs directly produced by viewers. This study presented several improvement measures by analyzing the contents of viewer-participation programs televised through the of KBS, so KBS could work as an open public platform in which the people could freely express their own thinking, ideology, opinions, and ideas.

Recently, there are various reports on the case of using an Online Judge(OJ) system that enables students to develop problem solving abilities based on algorithms and programming. If informatics teachers and prospective informatics teachers have the ability to build and operate these systems for their school and students, they will be equipped with powerful instructional competencies related to computational thinking and problem solving ability. Therefore, this paper studied how to build and customize HUSTOJ-based open source online judge systems for school informatics education, and suggested the direction to apply it effectively at the school.

This paper studies the technology management strategy for activating the industry-academia cooperation in open innovation environment. For this, the importance and concept of technology management balancing the internal innovation and utilization of external innovation resources, and industry-academia cooperation were theoretically reviewed. For the successful technology management in open innovation environment firms should adopt the industry-academia cooperation strategy. The technology management strategy for activating the industry-academia cooperation of the firm can be summarized as follows; Firstly, technology strategy for academia-industry cooperation utilizing the strategic technology roadmap should be prepared and executed. Secondly, the firm should adopt the open innovation system and transform their NIH(Not-Invented-Here) culture for open culture. Finally, for activating the networking with various innovation actors, industry-academia cooperation supporting system should be prepared.

The construction is the industry with the highest fatalities, and the fatalities has not decreased despite various institutional improvements. Accordingly, real-time safety management by applying artificial intelligence (AI) to CCTV images is emerging. Although some research on worker detection by applying AI to images of construction sites is being conducted, there are limitations in performance expression due to problems such as complex background due to the nature of the construction industry. In this study, the YOLO model and the OpenPose model were fused to improve the performance of worker detection and posture estimation to improve the detection performance of workers in various complex conditions. This is expected to be highly useful in terms of unsafe behavior and health management of workers in the future.

The article discusses the results of a quantitative analysis of open educational resources in the field of information technology. Study is based on a study of the content of ten platforms that provide access to open resources (OPs). To achieve this goal, we used the following methods: theoretical analysis and generalization of Internet sources to determine the popularity of educational platforms and resources on them; quantitative data analysis to determine the relative proportion of IT courses in various parameters: the relative weight of courses in the IT field in general and on each platform in particular, the language of instruction, the quantitative content by thematic areas. The following platforms providing access to open educational resources were subjected to quantitative analysis: Coursera, Edx, Udemy, MIT OpenCourseWare, OpenLearn, Intuit, Prometheus, UoPeople, Open Learning Initiative, Maidan Open University.
