Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the effect of Hwanggigyejiomul-tang on eczema with oozing. Methods : We treated 23 eczema patients with oozing. We used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), and recorded the condition of patients as severe, moderate, mild, none. Results : After the treatments, all patients VAS of oozing was remarkably decreased. Conclusions : This study suggests that Hwanggigyejiomul-tang is effective on eczema with oozing.

Objetives : The purpose of this study is to report the effect of Oryeong-san on adult whole-body atopic dermatitis. Methods : We treated a 21-year-old male patient who have adult whole-body atopic dermatitis by Korean medicine. This treatment was enforced from 2019.5.25 to 2019.6.29. And we have confirmed the improvement of itching, rashes and oozing. We recorded photos that includes change of symptoms. Results : After the treatments was done, the grade of VAS and SCORAD was decreased. The VAS grade was decreased from grade 8 to grade 2. The SCORAD score was decreased from 72.1 to 52.1. And itching, rashes, oozing were clearly decreased. Conclusions : Oryeong-san has effect on decreasing itching, rashes and oozing. Also, sleeping time reduced due to itchness was normalized. Thus, It is able that Oryeong-san works on skin desease like atopic dermatitis.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effects of Low Level Laser Therapy on Atopic dermatitis symptoms. Methods 19 patients (7 men, 12 women) were involved in this study. The intensity of SCORAD index (Erythema/darkening, Edema/papulation, Oozing/crust, Excoriation, Lichenification/prurigo, Dryness) and the symptom of SCORAD index (Pruritus) in two regions were measured. One region was treated by LLLT, the other region was not treated. Then a comparative study of index score of two regions was analyzed. Results After treatment, there were statistically significant differences in Edema/papulation, Excoriation (p<0.001), Oozing/crust (p<0.01), and Pruritus(p<0.05) index. Conclusions Based on the results, we concluded that LLLT is an effective in the treatment of atopic dermatitis. Also, further controlled studies with clinical cases of appropriate treatment time, wavelength, and intervals are needed.

Retrobulbar hemorrhage is a disastrous condition that can lead to permanent blindness. As such, rapid diagnosis and treatment are critical. Here, we report a patient who presented with retrobulbar hemorrhage following an orbital floor fracture. Restoration of inferior orbital wall with porous polyethylene implant was underwent. Four days after the orbital floor reconstruction, the patient smoked a cigarette outdoors in -3℃ weather. Cold temperature and smoking caused an increase in his systemic blood pressure. The elevated blood pressure increased intraorbital pressure to the extent of causing central retinal artery occlusion and exacerbated oozing. During exploratory surgery, 3 mL of hematoma and diffuse oozing without arterial bleeding were observed. Prompt diagnosis and treatment prevented vision impairment. Few studies have reported on the risk factors for retrobulbar hemorrhage. This case showed that daily activities, such as exposure to cold weather or tobacco smoking, could be risk factors for retrobulbar hemorrhage.

A forty-eight-year-old female patient with ascending aortic aneurysm with aortic insufficiency underwent a modified Bentall operation. The ascending aorta and the aortic valve were replaced with a composite graft containing a St. Jude valve. The coronary orifices were anastomosed to the tubular Dacron prosthesis by means of a second smaller Gore-Tex tube, and a fistula between the aneurysmal sac and the right atrial appendage was created to drain oozing from the prosthesis. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient was discharged without complication. She is doing well on the 14 months follow-up.

We observed and treated a 25 year-old male who had been diagnosed with atopic dermatitis. Even though he had been treated with western medicine, he still complained of severe itching, erythema, lichenification, scaling, dryness, oozing and insomnia. We treated him with general management, acupuncture, herbal irrigation, aromatherapy and three kinds of herb-medication (Sopung-san, Chunghulsamul-tang, Saenghyulyunbu-yum) without steroids. Having been treated for 60 days, his symptoms were reduced and mild grade in SCORAD (SCORing Atopic Dermatitis).

Hematoma of gastric wall is very rare, and occasionally associated with coagulopathy, trauma, peptic ulcer disease, and therapeutic endoscopy. Ischemic gastric necrosis is also rare because of the abundant anastomotic supply to the stomach, and it is usually associated with surgery and disruption of the major vessels. Endoscopic submucosal injection of hypertonic saline-epinephrine (HS-E) is a safe, cost-effective, and widely used therapy for hemostasis but it may cause tissue necrosis and perforation. We describe a case of gastric wall hematoma with oozing bleeding after endoscopic gastric mucosa biopsy in 71-year old woman with chronic renal failure and angina pectoris undergoing anti-platelet medication. We injected a small dose of HS-E (7ml) for controlling oozing bleeding. Two days later, endoscopy showed huge ulcer with necrotic tissue at the site of previously hematoma. Therefore we should pay particular attention for hematoma and mucosal necrosis when performing endoscopic procedure in a patients with high bleeding and atherosclerotic risk.

구강악안면영역은 그 해부학적 구조상 혈관 분포가 풍부하고 따라서 구강내로 접근하는 수술시 신체 다른 부위와 달리 출혈 소견을 많이 보이며 수술중 과다출혈의 방지와 지혈의 목적으로 epinephirne soaked gauze즉 bosrnine gauze의 사용이 널리 이루어지고 있고 또한 사용이 불가피하다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 이 부분은 혈관 분포가 풍부하므로 epinephrine의 systemic uptake의 가능성 또한 존재한다 할 수 있겠다. 고농도의 epinephrine은 이론상 혈관수축을 일으켜 순간적인 systemic volume overload의 상태를 야기시켜 폐부종 및 pulmonary effusion을 일으킬 수 있으나 아직까지 보고된 바 없었다. 악안면부위는 혈관공급이 많아 수술중 지혈이 용이하지 못해 bleeding control을 위해 또 습관적으로 bosmine 거즈의 packing이 행해지고 있지만 수술자에 의한 정확한 농도로 희석된 bosmine 거즈 사용이 필수적이다. 본원에서 양악 악교정 수술시 소독간호사에 의해 잘못 희석된 고농도의 bosmine 거즈를 상악후방에 packing하여 발생된 전신적 합병증으로써 폐부종이 발생한 바 bosmine 거즈의 사용시 사용부위에 따라 농도의 확인과 술자의 주의를 요한다고 생각된다.

Objectives: This study was conducted to establish the study form of atopic dermatitis in oriental medicine, to find out the effect of herbal medicine and to compare Bangpungtongsungsan group with symptom-complexes prescription group. Methods: We gave scores(1-3) to the 37 outpatients who visited the dept. of Ophthalmotolaryngology & Dermatosurgery of the Kyunghee Oriental Medical Center from June 1,2000 to September 30, 2000. According to transformed the G. Rajka, T. Langeland and Jon M. Hanifin standard. We checked the Eosinophil count, IgE and the scores (intensity: the degree of itching, course: the degree of itching during a year, extent: erythema, lichenification, scaling. dryness, erosion' oozing). After herbal treatment for 6 weeks, we checked the above factors again in the same way. In treatment, we divided the patients into Bangpungtongsungsan group and Symptom-complexes group for cross-comparison. Results: There were 19 patients we could check by score and 14 patients by laboratory. 1. In the 14 lab cases, the number of abnormal value of Eosinophil count and IgE was decreased but it was not significant. 2. In the 19 cases by score, clinical severity of the intensity of itching, lichenification, scaling' dryness was significantly decreased between the before- and after-herbal treatment periods (P<0.01, P<0.01, P<0.05). 3. In 19 cases, clinical severity of erythema, erosion. oozing was decreased after herbal treatment but it was not significant(p>0.05). 4. In point of total score, clinical severity of atopic dermatitis was significantly decreased after herbal treatment(p<0.01). 5. There was no significant difference between Bangpungtongsungsan group and Symptom-complexes group(P<0.05). Conclusions: Although more study is needed, these results indicate that herbal treatment is effective on atopic dermatitis.

Objectives : This study is clinical report of one atopic dermatitis patient with exudate.Methods : We treated a 16-year old woman patient with acupuncture, pharmacopuncture, herbal medicine, herbal bath, aroma cream therapy and western medicine. The improvement of the patient was evaluated by SCORAD INDEX and photography.Results : The SCORAD Index score of admission day at hospital was 73.5, and the SCORAD INDEX score of discharge day was 11.4. Amount of exudate and the score of oozing were decreased.Consults : The complex treatments of korean medicine and western medicine was effective to improve of atopic dermatitis patient with exudate. And the influence of weather condition to prognosis of atopic dermatitis with exudate was observated. It is necessary to have more observations and case reports.
