In this paper, the addition and the multiplicative algorithm of two polynomials over finite field $GF(p^m)$ are presented. The 4-valued arithmetic processor of the serial input-parallel output modular structure on $GF(4^3)$ to be performed the presented algorithm is implemented by current mode CMOS. This 4-valued arithmetic processor using current mode CMOS is implemented one addition/multiplication selection circuit and three operation circuits; mod(4) multiplicative operation circuit, MOD operation circuit made by two mod(4) addition operation circuits, and primitive irreducible polynomial operation circuit to be performing same operation as mod(4) multiplicative operation circuit. These operation circuits are simulated under $2{\mu}m$ CMOS standard technology, $15{\mu}A$ unit current, and 3.3V VDD voltage using PSpice. The simulation results have shown the satisfying current characteristics. The presented 4-valued arithmetic processor using current mode CMOS is simple and regular for wire routing and possesses the property of modularity. Also, it is expansible for the addition and the multiplication of two polynomials on finite field increasing the degree m and suitable for VLSI implementation.
A number of screws are inevitably used for tightening flanges in constructing a vacuum system. A theoretical relation between the axial force and the torque exerted on a screw is easily obtained assuming that the friction force generated on the contacting plane is known, however, in practice the friction is influenced strongly by unknown detailed surface condition. It is difficult to tighten optimally and uniformly the flange seals if the screws commercially available have undefined surface conditions and scattered dimensions, and the axial force produced by the screws can not be expected properly. In this paper a scatter of the axial force over screws and the deviation from an expected one, depending on various fastening conditions, are investigated using a variety of M8, the most popular size for vacuum flanges, domestic stainless screws of hexagonal head and standard thread.
Through this study, standard design guidelines for the high speed EMU have been derived to meet the crashworthiness requirements of the Korean rollingstock safety regulation. The crashworthiness regulation requires some performance requirements for two heavy collision accident scenarios; a train-to-train collision at the relative speed of 36 kph, and a collision against a standard deformable obstacle of 15 ton at 110 kph. The complete train set will be composed of 2TC-6M with 13 ton axle load, different from KTX with the power car of 17 ton axle load. Using theoretical and numerical analyses, some crashworthy design guidelines were derived in terms of mean crush forces and energy absorptions for main crushable structures and devices. The derived design guidelines were evaluated and improved using one dimensional spring-mass dynamic simulations. It is shown from the simulation results that the suggested design guidelines can easily satisfy the domestic crashworthiness requirements.

This research is aimed at investigating the ground characterization of the Cheongju granite area using the geophysical methods. Test site was chosen from the building site in Chungbuk University, Chongju, Chungbuk province. Furthermore, geophysical methods are employed on the outcrops in the east to map the distribution of fault and intrusion and reveal the degree of weathering. The subsurface structure mapped from seismic re-fraction survey mainly consists of two units of weathered soil and rock. Threshold of the units were determined on the basis of seismic velocity of 800 m/s, supported from the standard classification table. From the results of standard penetrating test(SPT), these units are found to show medium-high and high density, respectively. Weathering soil is subdivided in unsaturated layer and saturated layer with thresholds of seismic velocity (500 m/s) and resistivity (200 ohm-m). In particular, unsaturated layer is again classified into dry and wet portions using the GPR section. The boundary between unsaturated and saturated weathering soils corresponds to the groundwater table at depth of approximately 5~6.2 m, which is well correlated with the one from drill-core data. However, bedrock is not delineated by geophysical methods. In the GPR section, fault and intrusion observed on the outcrop are revealed not to extend to the building site. With respect to weathering degree, the outcrop characterized by low resistivity and velocity corresponds to the grade of 'completely weathered' from the geotechnical investigations.
This study is to develope a phantom for MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductors Field Effect Transistors) dosimetry and compare the dosimetric properties of standard MOSFET and microMOSFET with the phantom. In this study, the developed phantom have two shape: one is the shape of semi-sphere with 10cm diameters and the other one is the flat slab of $30{\times}30cm$with 1 cm thickness. The slab phantom was used for calibration and characterization measurements of reproducibility, linearity and dose rate dependency. The semi-sphere phantom was used for angular and directional dependence on the types of MOSFETs. The measurements were conducted under $10{\times}10cm^2$ fields at 100cm SSD with 6MV photon of Clinac (21EX, Varian, USA). For calibration and reproducibility, five standard MOSFETS and microMOSFETs were repeatedly Irradiated by 200cGy five times. The average calibration factor was a range of $1.09{\pm}0.01{\sim}1.12{\pm}0.02mV/cGy$ for standard MOSFETS and $2.81{\pm}0.03{\sim}2.85{\pm}0.04 mV/cGy$ for microMOSFETs. The response of reproducibility in the two types of MOSFETS was found to be maximum 2% variation. Dose linearity was evaluated In the range of 5 to 600 cGy and showed good linear response with $R^2$ value of 0.997 and 0.999. The dose rate dependence of standard MOSFET and microMOSFET was within 1% for 200 cGy from 100 to 500MU/min. For linearity, reproducibility and calibration factor, two types of MOSFETS showed similar results. On the other hand, the standard MOSFET and microMOSFET were found to be remarkable difference in angular and directional dependence. The measured angular dependence of standard MOSFET and microMOSFET was also found to be the variation of 13%, 10% and standard deviation of ${\pm}4.4%,\;{\pm}2.1%$. The directional dependence was found to be the variation of 5%, 2% and standard deviation of ${\pm}2.1%,\;{\pm}1.5%$. Therefore, dose verification of radiation therapy used multidirectional X-ray beam treatments allows for better the use of microMOSFET which has a reduced angular and directional dependence than that of standard MOSFET.

The aim of this study is to offer the basic data concerning the architectural characteristics of the recently constructed farmhouses built by the residents’ self-planning after 1987, compared with the standard housing plan, for the desirable farmhouse planning. The 77 farmhouses, scattered in Milyang-gun, Yangsan-gun and Ulsan-gun near Ulsan city, were selected for the field measurement and the data, compared with the 14 standard housing plans, were analysed by the qualitative method. The farmhouses studied here showed average size of 25-pyongs(82.5m2) and took the flat slab type of roof by the masonry construction of the red blicks. The characteristics in planning were \circled1 the Anbang placed adjacent above the living room, \circled2 a pare of double-sliding doers for the Anbang. \circled3 a pare of double-sliding doors between the living room and the yard for the openness of the living room, \circled4 a door between the living room and the kitchen, \circled5 the multiuse-room by the kicthen for supplemental use, and \circled6 the storage space as attics secured indoor. The standard housing plans, different from these of the recently constructed farmhouses, placed emphasis on the separativeness of each space using the one hinged doors. The farmhouses built recently therefore were not affected by the characteristics of the standard housing plans.
Aflatoxin M1 can be produced in cow’s milk when cows eat contaminated produce. Milk is a major source of food for infants and for children who have a weak level of immunity, and the detection of Aflatoxin M1 for risk assessment is necessary in order to reduce the amount of it in milk. In this study, the Aflatoxin M1 level was monitored for one year in raw milk samples obtained from Chungnam Province, Korea. The milk samples were divided into three categories: 1. milk samples from a standard general farm, 2. milk samples from a HACCP controlled farm, and 3. milk samples from the supply of Aflatoxin M1 reduced fodder. The average concentrations of Aflatoxin M1 in milk were 0.023±0.005 ug/l for the standard general farm, 0.017±0.004 ug/l for the HACCP controlled farm, and 0.013±0.003 ug/l for the supply of Aflatoxin M1 reduction fodder. Milk collected from the supply of Aflatoxin M1 reduction fodder had the lowest level of Aflatoxin M1. However, when efficiency and economic aspects are considered the most effective way of reducting Aflatoxin M1, could be taking milk from the HACCP controlled farm and implementing good feed management. Institutional support from the government, careful management of dairy farming, and a strict farm sanitation program are required in order to lower the level of Aflatoxin M1 in milk.
Number of aerosol, CO, $CO_2$ and TVOC after one-, two-, three-cigarettes smoking were monitored with time every 10 minute for 180 minutes in the seminar room (volume $51.1m^3$) when poorly-ventilated. IAQ monitor (IAQRAE, model PGM-5210) and PortCount (TSI, model 8020) were used for monitoring. Aerosol was decreased with exponential decay equation and it was estimated that number of aerosol would be long suspended (one cigarette 75/cc. two cigarettes 66/cc, three cigarettes 141/cc by 8hrs after smoking). While CO was also decreased with exponential or linear decay equation and correlated with number of aerosol strongly, TVOC and $CO_2$ were increased with linear equation in accordance with time lag. Most of TVOC and $CO_2$ were above standard levels of Korean Indoor Air Quality (Ministry of Environment) without regarding number of cigarettes. When naturally ventilated, all of CO, $CO_2$ and TVOC concentrations were dramatically decreased below standard levels of Korean Indoor Air Quality.
One of the most important issues for projecting future water resources and establishing climate change adaptation strategies is 'uncertainty'. In Korea, climate change research results were very heterogeneous even in a same basin, but there have been few climate change studies dealt with the uncertainty reduction. This is because emission scenarios, GCMs, downscaling, and rainfall-runoff models that were used in the previous studies were almost all different. In this research, fifty one GCM scenarios based A and B emission scenarios were downloaded and then compared with the observed values for a period from January 2001 to December 2008. The downloaded GCM scenarios in general simulated well the observed but did not simulated well the observed precipitation especially for the flood season in Korea. The accuracy of each GCM scenario was measured with the model efficiency, PDF-based, and Relative Entropy methodology. Among the selected GCM scenarios with three methodologies, the four common GCM scenarios(CGCM2.3.2(MRI-M, B1), MIROC3.2medress(NIES, B1), CGCM2.3.2(MRI-M, A2), CGCM2.3.2(MRI-M, A1B) were finally selected. Results of the four selected GCMs were heterogeneity and projected increases of precipitation for the Korean Peninsula by from 27.36% to 12.49%, respectively. It seems very risky to rely a water planning or a management policy on use of a single climate change scenario and from this research results. Therefore, the four selected GCM scenarios proposed quantitatively were considered firstly for the water supply in the dry season and the drought management strategy in the Korean Peninsula for the future.
The 20 L small chamber test method is to evaluate pollutants such as TVOC, formaldehyde emitted from building materials. This method was only designed to evaluate the surface emission of sample exposed in the chamber. In this method, building materials cut with a fixed standard size are fixed in a sample sealing box. The sample sealing box is put into the 20 L test chamber. This chamber is ventilated at a standard air change rate with purified air for 7 days then the sample from the chamber is collected and analyzed to measure the emission rate of TVOC and formaldehyde. In this method, however, if the sealing box does not guarantee airtightness, accurate evaluation for the building materials can not be achieved due to the pollutants emitted from edge of the sample so called, edge effect. This edge effect can be much greater when evaluating panels such as plywood, flooring due to their surface treatment. In this study, flooring was tested to check airtightness of the sample sealing box with analytic results between 1L and 20 L test chamber. Furniture materials like LPM coated one side surface treatment and MDF coated both sides surface treatment with LPM were tested to identify whether the improvement of the sample sealing box airtightness is possible with the comparison between existing and improved test method that low VOC emission tape was used to seal the sample edge. After 7 days, MDF TVOC emission rate was different according to the existence and nonexistence of tape. The emission rate of the existing test method was $0.009mg/m^2h$ and that of improved test method was $0.003mg/m^2h$. Relative standard deviation for the existing test method was $0.004mg/m^2h$ and relative standard deviation for the improved test method was $0.002mg/m^2h$ when the same sample was analyzed three times. The improved test method in this study using low VOC emission tape was effective and able to reduce the heterogeneous effect of the edge from the sample sealing box.
