  • This paper analyses the characteristics of incomplete-journey double-circuit transmission lines on the same tower formed by single-circuit lines and double-circuit lines, and then presents a fault location algorithm based on identification of fault branch. With the relationship between the three-phase system and the double-circuit line system, a phase-mode transformation matrix for double-circuit lines can be derived. Based on the derived matrix, the double-circuit lines with faults can be decoupled, and then the fault location for an incomplete-journey double-circuit line is achieved by using modal components in the mode domain. The algorithm is divided into two steps. Firstly, the fault branch is identified by comparing the relationships of voltage amplitudes at the bonding point. Then the fault location, on the basis of the identification result, is calculated by using a two-terminal method, and only the fault distance of the actual fault branch can be obtained. There is no limit on synchronization of each terminal sampling data. The results of ATP-EMTP simulation show that the proposed algorithm can be applied within the entire line and can accurately locate faults in different fault types, fault resistances, and fault distances.

  • This paper presents a methodology through which the time series of the dynamic response of mooring line tension can be predicted without relying on a time-consuming nonlinear time-domain analysis. The mooring line tension for the target short-term sea states was predicted using a Hammerstein-Wiener model, a popular system identification scheme, based upon the pre-calculated motion-tension time history data for some selected short-term sea states that do not overlap with the targeted ones. The obtained mooring line tension was further processed, and a fatigue damage comparison was made between the predicted and calculated values. The results showed that the predicted time series of the mooring line tension matched the calculated one fairly well. Thus, it is expected that the methodology may be employed to enhance the efficiency of mooring line tension analysis.

  • Power-line communication technology is proposed to identify cables of power distribution systems. It can extend the application area of power-line communication. Distribution line cable circuits have only a limited ability to carry higher frequencies. Typically power transformers in the distribution system prevent propagating the higher frequency carrier signal. The proposed method uses the limited propagation ability to identify the cable. A novel power cable identification system is designed and implemented. The system consists of a transmitter and a receiver with power-line communication module. Some experiments are conducted to verify the theoretical concepts. Also some simulations are done to help and understand the concepts by using Simulink simulator.

  • The Antioxidant activity screening identification of five kind compounds in Artemisiae annuae herba with the on-line screening high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) $ABTS^+$ assay. The various experimental variables such as the extraction time (h) and extraction solvent composition (%) of dipping method were investigated efficiently extraction at the room temperature $25^{\circ}C$. The results, the highest yield of total extract amount (0.458 g, 15.250%) was obtained by dipping method with 100% water and extraction time to 3 h. And the on-line screening HPLC-$ABTS^+$ assay method was rapid and efficient to search for bioactivity from natural products.

  • In this paper, an explanation regarding on-line identification of a fuzzy system is presented. The fuzzy system to be identified is assumed to be in the type of singleton consequent parts and be represented by a linear combination of fuzzy basis functions. For on-line identification, squared-cosine membership function is introduced to reduce the number of parameters to be identified and make the system consistent and differentiable. Then the parameters of the fuzzy system are identified on-line by the gradient search method and Extended Kalman Filter. Finally, a computer simulation is peformed to illustrate the validity of the suggested algorithms.

  • This study investigates the dynamic characteristics of Synchronous Reluctance Motor (SynRM), with segmental rotor structure, using finite element method in which the moving mesh technique is considered. The focus of this paper is the efficiency of on-line parameter identification system for position sensorless control of a SynRM considering saturation and iron loss. Comparisons are given with angle of the observer and those of proposed FEM & Preisach model of synchronous reluctance motor, respectively. The position sensorless control using identified motor parameters is realized, and the efficiency of the on-line parameter identification system is verified by experimental results.

  • Almost all network systems provide an authentication mechanism based on user ID and password. In such system, it is easy to obtain the user password using a sniffer program with illegal eavesdropping. The one-time password and challenge-response method are useful authentication schemes that protect the user passwords against eavesdropping. In client/server environments, the one-time password scheme using time is especially useful because it solves the synchronization problem. In this paper, we present a new identification scheme: OPI(One Pass Identification). The security of OPI is based on the square root problem, and OPI is secure: against the well known attacks including pre-play attack, off-line dictionary attack and server comprise. A number of pass of OPI is one, and OPI processes the password and does not need the key. We think that OPI is excellent for the consuming time to verify the prover.

  • The purposes of this study were to examine the effect of consumers brand identification of a luxury fashion brand on brand attachment and to determine the moderating influences of self-monitoring and social self-esteem on this effect. For this study, a questionnaire was developed through a literature search. The developed survey was then conducted by means of on-line and off-line questionnaires. Data from 228 women with experience in buying luxury fashion brands was analyzed with descriptive statistics, Cronbach a, factor analysis, regression, two-way one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and t -test using SPSS for Windows 21.0. First, the brand identification of consumer was composed three factors; actual, ideal, social identification. The brand attachment was composed five factors; emotional, dependency, attraction, intellectual curiosity, and general interest. Second, it was shown that brand identification has a positive influence on brand attachment. Third, it was also shown that there is a moderating influence from self-monitoring on the effect of consumer's brand-identification of a luxury fashion brand on brand attachment. Interaction effect between consumer's brand-identification and self-monitoring was found out to be meaningful at brand affect. Fourth, there was an additional moderating effect from social self-esteem on this effect. Interaction effect between consumer's brand-identification and social self-esteem was found out to be meaningful at brand affect.

  • The hydroxyl radical (OH) sky emission lines arise from the Earth's mesosphere, and they serve as a major source of the sky background in the infrared. With IGRINS, the observed line strength show non-negligible variation even within a few minutes of time scale, making its subtraction difficult. Toward the aim better sky subtraction in the IGRINS pipeline, we present 1) improved identification of sky lines in H and K band and 2) improved method of subtracting sky background. Using the recent line list of Brooke et al. (2015), we have detected ~500 OH doublets from upper vibrational level between 2 and 9 and maximum upper J level of 25. In particular, we found that a significant fraction of unidentified lines reported by Oliva et al. (2015) are indeed OH lines resulting from transitions between different F levels. With the extended line identification, we present an improved method of sky subtraction. The method, based on the method of Noll et al. (2014), empirically accounts non-LTE level population of OH molecules.
