In general, when an existing pier is enlarged and reinforced using a small diameter pile, bonded anchor with deformed reinforcing bars is used to maintain the integrity of the joint. However, in the case of bonded anchors, the performance depends largely on the type of joint material. Nevertheless, unlike mechanical anchors, there is no standard method for designing appropriate design methods and proper performance evaluation. Therefore, in this study, the performance of the anchoring anchor was evaluated by performing a model experiment using the reinforcing bars and anchor reinforcing bars. Experimental results show that the structural performance of the unbonded specimen is the best, and the failure mode is the punching shear failure. The deflection of the end of the member is smaller than that of the unconnected member, The deflection of the connected member is larger than the deflection of the small connected member. As the load increases, the possibility of slippage of the anchor steel or fold connection rebar is high.

As nation's infrastructure is getting old, nondestructive evaluation of existing structures and construction quality control are getting important. In this paper non-destructive evaluations of concrete members using impact echo and SASW methods are introduced. Both techniques are based on the stress wave propagations. Experimental tests were performed using beam type concrete member where voids and cracks are included. Within reasonable accuracy, void locations were detected using impact echo method and the dynamic modulus of concrete were measured using SASW method. Both NDT methods showed a feasibility for the implementation into quality evaluaton of concrete members in practice

Fatigue strength of temporary steels and painted structural steels corroded under outdoor atmospheric environments is not clear. In this study, fatigue tests were carried out on steel plates which were cut off from 7-year-old temporary structural member under subway construction environment and from 75-year-old Yeongdo bridge member under marine atmospheric environment. After removing corrosion production on the steel surface, 3-dimensional surface geometry of the corroded steel was measured at intervals of $1.0{\times}1.0mm$, and corrosion characteristics such as minimum, maximum and mean values of residual thicknesses were calculated. From the fatigue test and FEM analysis results, the relationship between corrosion characteristics and fatigue behavior was presented, and change in fatigue strength of the unpainted and painted steels corroded in outdoor environments was also presented.
Systemic lupus erythematosus in a dog, suspected systemic lupus erythematosus in a dog, and autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura hemmorrhagica in a dog are reported. A fice-year old, female Chihuahua (Case 1) showed initially hemorrhagic diathesis and purpura hemorrhagica. Afterward, it showed polymyositis and polyarthritis. LE-cell was demonstrated on LE-cell preparation trom blood. Systemic lupus erythematosus was diagnosed. This reponded well to the immunosuppressants, but developed iatrogenic Cushing syndrome and steroid hepatopathy. A two-and-half-year old, male toy poodle (Case 2) had chief complaint of red urine. Occult blood test for the urine sediment. This did not respond at all to antibiotics and carbazochrome, which is one of systemic coagulants. LE-cell was demonstrated on LE-cell preparation from blood. This responded relatively well to immunosupressants such as prenisolone, azathioprine and cyclophosphamide. systemic lupus erythematosus is suspected. A nine-year-and-three-month old, female Maltese (Case 3), which had history of congestive heart failure and ovariohysterectomy showed purpura hemorrhagica in the skin of chest. This had severe thrombocytopenia and leukocytosis. As prednisolone was administered before immunological examination or demonstration of LE-cell, it was impossible to diagnose whether purpura hemorrhagica developed as a member of systemic lupus erythematosus or independent of systemic lupus erythematosus. This responded well to prednisolone, and so autoimmune thrombocytopenic purpura hemorrhagica was diagnosed.

With the recent increase in old and dangerous buildings, the demand for technology in the field of structure demolition is rapidly increasing. In particular, in the case of structures with severe deformation of damage, there is a risk of deterioration in stability and disaster due to changes in the load distribution characteristics in the structure, so rapid structure demolition technology that can be efficiently dismantled in a short period of time is drawing attention. However, structural deformation such as unauthorized extension or illegal remodeling occurs frequently in many old structures, which is not reflected in structural information such as building drawings, and acts as an obstacle in the demolition design process. In this study, as an effective way to overcome the discrepancy between the structural information of old structures and the actual structure, access to actual structures through 3D modeling was considered. 3D point cloud data inside and outside the building were obtained through LiDAR and drone photography for buildings scheduled to be blasting demolition, and precision matching between the two spatial data groups was performed using an open-source based spatial information construction system. The 3D structure model was completed by importing point cloud data matched with 3D modeling software to create structural drawings for each layer and forming each member along the structure slab, pillar, beam, and ceiling boundary. In addition, the modeling technique proposed in this study was verified by comparing it with the actual measurement value for selected structure member.

This research investigates vehicle structure acceleration and vehicle deformation with RCAR crash test. To investigate vehicle damage characteristics in an individual case, it is possible to RCAR low speed crash test. In this study, two tests were conducted to evaluate difference between RCAR new condition and RCAR old condition. A two large vehicles were subjected to a frontal crash test at a speed of 15km/h with an offset of 40% $10^{\circ}$ angle barrier and flat barrier. The results of the 15km/h with an offset of 40% $10^{\circ}$ angle barrier revealed high acceleration value on the vehicle structure and high repair cost compared to the RCAR 15km/h with an offset of 40% flat barrier. So in order to improve damage characteristics in low speed crash of vehicle structure and body component of the monocoque type passenger vehicles, the end of front side member and front back beam should be designed with optimum level and to supply the end of front side member as a partial condition approx 300mm.

Objective: This study investigated the impact of a single piezocision in the maxillary alveolar process on the speed of tooth movement. The null hypothesis was that the speed of tooth movement will be equal with and without piezocision. Methods: All maxillary molars on one side were moved against the combined incisors in 10 ten-week-old male Wistar rats. Under general anesthesia, a force of 25 cN was applied on either side using a Sentalloy closed coil spring. After placing the orthodontic appliance, vertical corticision was performed using a piezotome under local anesthesia, 2 mm mesial from the mesial root of the first molar on a randomly selected side; the other side served as the control. At the beginning of the treatment, and 2 and 4 weeks later, skull micro-computed tomography was performed. After image reconstruction, the distance between the mesial root of the first molar and the incisive canal, and the length of the mesial root of the first maxillary molar were measured. Moreover, the root resorption score was determined as described by Lu et al. Results: Significantly higher speed of tooth movement was observed on the corticision side; thus, the null hypothesis was rejected. The loss of root length and root resorption score were significantly more pronounced after piezocision than before. A strong correlation was observed between the speed of tooth movement and root resorption on the surgical side, but the control side only showed a weak correlation. Conclusions: Piezocision accelerates orthodontic tooth movement and causes increased root resorption.

Characteristics analysis and species identification of post were carried out in four old traditional wooden frame houses in Cheongdo-gun. The diameter and height of post, and distance between posts are related with each other. It was considered that the traditional wooden frame houses were constructed according to the diameter and height of post as a basic dimension in distance between posts. Of the wood member samples obtained in the site, softwoods in three old houses and hardwoods in one old house were separated through light microscopy. The hardwoods were found to be Castanea crenata. and softwoods were all identified as Pinus densiflora.

Familial juvenile hyperuricemic nephropathy is an autosomal dominant disease characterized by progressive renal disease and hyperuricemia or gout, affecting young people of either sex equally. There are two biochemical markers of this disorder. The first is hyperuricemia disproportionate to the degree of renal dysfunction; the second is a grossly reduced clearance of uric acid relative to creatinine, dispropotionate to age, sex and degree of renal failure. We experienced 2 family members with hyperuricemia. One family member, a 13-year-old girl who had suffered from tophaceous gout and chronic renal failure. Her younger brother also had hyperuricemia and moderately reduced renal function. Their urinary excretion fractions of uric acid($FE_{uric\;acid}$) were reduced and renal biopsy specimens showed interstitial fibrosis with tubular atrophy and interstitial urate crystal deposition. We have treated these two patients with allopurinol but we have done renal transplantation because she progressed to end stage renal disease at 16 year old age.
This study was carried out to investigate the consumer recognition and consumption of Misitgaru(the traditional powder of roast grain). Data were collected from the 605 housewives(average age, 42.9 years old) residing in Chonbuk area by the self-administered questionnaire. The results from this study were as follows. The respondants were generally concerned regarding Misitgaru as a between-meal snack(33%). And there were recognition on Misitgaru as a weaning food(17%), health food(16%), and substitute food(14%). Of the respondants, good consumers of the Misitgaru were high ratio in age below 30 years old and in number of family member between 6 to 7. Among the demographic variables, age, educational level and housing form especially affected the purchasing place and educational level affected the kinds of mixing cereals. The higher the educational level, the more the kinds of mixing cereals. The methods of storage were significantly different according to age and income level. The older in age and higher in income level, the higher the storage at room temperature.
