  • Purpose:It has been known that the prognosis of a young woman's breast cancer is Poorer than the other woman However, the effect of age on the prognosis is not well-defined We performed this study to investigate age as a prognostic factor of breast cancer. Materials and Methods : A retrospective study was conducted for 3209 breast cancer patients who underwent operations in Department of Surgery, Seoul National University Hospital from January 1981 to December 2000. Patients were divided into two groups, young age(≤35) and old age(>35) groups. And tumor stage, histopathologic characteristics(such as histology, nuclear grade, histologic grade, hormonal receptor, etc), overall survival and disease free survival rates were compared between age groups. Results . The age ranged from 17 to 88 years. 396 patients(12.3%) were included in young age group(median=32) and 2813 Patients(87.7%) in old age group(median=47).There are more advanced stages and poor nuclear grades in young age group(p=0.000, p=0.003), By log-rank test, the young age group had poorer overall survival and disease free survival rates(p<0.05, p=0.0002). Although, the young age group had more advanced TMN stages(p=0.000) and poorer nuclear grade than the old age group(p=0.003) in multi variate analysis, the age was not a significant independent prognostic factor. (P=0.642)Conclusion: Our study showed that the age was not a significant independent prognostic factor.

Women usually gave weight to design, fabric, fit and color, when they bought T-shirts. The most important fit part was different according to age groups, 18~34 women valued T-shirts length but 35~59 women valued bust circumference ease. The ease of T-shirts was analysed with body sizes. Shoulder ease were distributed between -3~3cm, neckline designed apart 0.5~7.0cm from side neck point, 0~11cm from front neck point and 1~2cm from back neck point. The means of bust ease, waist ease and hip ease were 6.2cm, 14.7cm and 4.5cm. The bust and waist ease were significantly different between age groups and 35~59 year old women wore more tightly at both parts due to their thick torso. Women accepted smaller ease at hip while didn't want small ease at waist. The eases of shoulder, bust and T-shirts length were the most important and influencing.

Method: This study was carried out on a total of 206 subjects 206 mid-old-age caregivers(45~65 years old) from November 2009 to April 2010: 206 mid-old-age caregivers (45~65 years old) at the long-term hospital. A questionnaires survey on general factors and subjective symptoms of subjects was conducted. The risk factors of the musculoskeletal workload evaluation method is based on OWAS, RULA, REBA according to occupation properties. Results: The analysis of the rates of the subjective symptoms showed that 78.6% subjects experience low back pain. The analysis of the work type showed that transfer is the highest rate(36.3%) and position change is the second(18.2%). The analysis of the work postures showed that the thrusted back with twisting position over $20^{\circ}$ is highest rate(37.4%), the bended back forward with twisting position is the second(27.5%). Conclusion: This study suggested that the need of preventive education for caregivers and workload improve. It is hoped that subsequent study on the difference of subjective symptoms between educated caregivers and non educated caregivers will be conducted.

  • Due to the population growth of the old aged, Korea is also entering into an aging society. But a research on the pattern design to the old aged is much to be desired. The purpose of this research is to design skirt pattern fitted for each body type by categorizing the lower body type of the old aged woman. For the way of research, categorized the body type by using the female measuring size from the 65 years old to 99 years old which has been measured by the Korean body size research as an assay data, and base on this data, a suitable skirt pattern for each body type of the old aged woman was designed by practicing the exterior evaluation. The data analysis was done with the statistical treatment in SPSS 12.0, and the results are as follows. The lower body type of the old aged woman were divided into the type 1. The circumference article is the biggest compared to the height article regarding to the lower body type of the old aged woman. The type 2. The height article and the circumference and thickness articles are the poorest. The type 3. The height article is the biggest and the hip width and calf circumference are thicker than the waist width. The type 4. The height article is the lowest and the waist width is thicker instead the hip and leg are thinner. In type 1, The pattern was modified by increasing 1cm a length of the dart and raising up 1.2cm at the cross point between side line and waist line. In type 2, the basic pattern was used, and in type 3, using the outline of the basic pattern however, increased 1cm a length of the dart and modified the amounts of dart by handling the art in curve, and modified the waist line to be more three-dimensional curves by raising up 1 cm at the cross point between waist line and side line and falling down 0.5cm at the cross point between the back center line and the waist line. In type 4, modified the amounts of front and back dart to 1.25cm, and raised up 0.8cm at the cross point between side line and waist line, and modified the waist line and the side seam line in a gentle curve by reducing circumference of the skirt tail to 1cm from the side seam line.

  • This study tries to show the physical growth patterns and various adolescent characteristics by using longitudinal data for the height, weight, chest girth and sitting height of 1, 132 high school students in Seoul. And this study also tries to show what influencing factors on the physical growth of this aged population. The followings are the results. 1. The boys have their peak velocity of height when they are 12~13 years old. And the girls have when they are 10~11 years old. Peak velocity of weight for boys is at the age of 13~14. And for girls is at the age ofr11~12. Peak velocity of chest girth for boys is at the age of 12~13. And for girls is at the age of 11~12. Peak velocity of sitting height for boys is at the age of 13~14. And for girls is at the age of 11~13. So girls of this period grow more rapidly by around two years than boys. 2. The menarche of girls begins at the age of 12.4. So it begins 1.4 year before peak height velocity period. 3. Of life behavior boys contingency coefficient between essential time and height and weight is .5150 and .479 5, that between studying time and height and weight is .3344 and and .2912(In case of girls is .4735, .4321, .3247, .3134).

  • This study was performed to get basic data for gloves size system and pattern planning suitable Korean hand shape. Data was collected through measuring hand size of man and woman from age 18 to 30 as subjects living in metropolitan area. by analysing the measured data, the difference in man and woman and the gloves size system was established. The results of study are as follows: 1. The Deviation of hand girths and hand lengths was larger than that of hand width in both man group and woman group. In all items. deviation in man was larger than woman. 2. In sex difference, there was difference between mall group and woman group in all items. In age difference, there was difference between mall group and woman group in mainly girth and the difference was bigger in group under 24 years old than in group over 24 years old. 3. The weight showed the highest $correlation(r{\geqq}0.8)$ with girths and high correlation with widths $(r{\geqq}0.7).$ The height showed the highest positive $correlation(r{\geqq}0.8)$ with and elbow length and high correlations with width and girths item. There were high positive correlation between vertical lengths in hand and between horizontal lengths but low correlation between vertical lengths and horizontal lengths. 4. The basic parts for gloves size system, hand lengths and hand girths were divided into 1cm interval. The results shouted that $91.0\%$ of man group were ranged from 18cm to 20cm section and $92.4\%$, of woman group were ranged from 16cm to 18cm section. 5. The interval which has the highest covet· rate was hand length 19cm and hand girth 20cm interval which covered $18.65\%$ of man group. The intervals which showed cover rate more than $5\%$ was total 7 and they covered $73.1\%$ of man group. The interval which has which has the highest cover rate was hand length 17cm and hand girth 17cm interval which covered $21.37\%$ of woman group. The intervals which showed cover rate more than $5\%$ was total 6 and they covered $72.5\%$ of total woman group.
