Recently increasing the supply of housing policy has not been able to reflect social phenomena as like decreasing birth rate, aging of the population and increasing 1 or 2 person households. This study analyze the housing demand in the city with the point of population growth rate and economic character changes. Growing cities have positive population growth rate and economic character, but shrinking cities have the opposite. By comparing housing demand of growing cities and shrinking cities, we want to find out housing policy implications. In this study, results suggest that the peak age of housing demand of shrinking cities is the late 60's. But the growing cities's age peak is the mid-80's. But further analysis of the economic variables and 1 or 2 person old and young household dummies, the result is that the peak age of housing demand is reduced. These results suggest that housing demand should be differentiated the cities's population structure and economic characteristics of the household. In short, housing demand will vary depending on the condition of individual cities.

This study utilized data from 1,068 women aged 40-59, drawn from the 8th Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) conducted in 2020, to investigate factors impacting subjective health perception and health-related quality of life. Methodologically, STATA 15.0 was employed for complex sample mean and standard deviation calculations, complex sample weighted percentages, complex sample t-tests, and multiple regression analyses. Common factors influencing both subjective health and health-related quality of life included education level, household size, depression, and stress. Age, binge drinking, and physical activity were identified as factors influencing subjective health perception. Insurance type, employment status, and sleep disorders emerged as factors impacting health-related quality of life. Recognizing middle age as a crucial transitional phase into old age, the development of health policy programs aimed at enhancing subjective health and health-related quality of life during this period is deemed essential.

Objectives: This study investigated the effect of physical activity of adult Korean males on the prevalence of diabetes mellitus. Methods: This cross-sectional study used the raw data from the 2017 Community Health Survey. The subjects of this study were 74,494 men aged 19-64 years old. The data was analyzed applying the complex sampling design and using SPSS 23.0 Program. Descriptive statistics, Rao-Scott Chi-square tests and multiple logistic regression analysis were all performed. Results: The prevalence of diabetes mellitus was 6.4%. The walking activity was 58.5% and the over moderate intensity physical activity was 27.5%. After adjusting for age, marital status, educational level, household monthly income, drinking and smoking status, and BMI, those subjects without moderate intensity physical activity had a 1.14 times higher prevalence of diabetes mellitus (95% CI = 1.05-1.24) than those men with moderate intensity physical activity. Conclusion: In order to decrease the prevalence of diabetes mellitus among adult men, regular physical activities over a moderate intensity level should be emphasized and encouraged in daily life.

This study describes behavioral characteristics of Korean population over twenty years old in a variety of activities of daily living by analyzing the raw data of the time use survey provided by Statistics Korea (KOSTAT). Seven activities and forty four sub-activities of daily living were selected for analysis : personal care, employment, household care, family care, voluntary work and community participation, social life, recreation and leisure, and travel. In order to quantitatively understand how Korean adults spend their time for a day and how their lifestyle changes over time, we collected the time recorded by 3,673 respondents in three surveys over the past ten years (in 1999, 2004, and 2009). Then, we performed analysis of variance to compare the behavioral characteristics by user age and gender based on the mean time of each activity. The differences in behavior among user groups and over time could be used to design ergonomic products and services based on user experience, especially for universal design of housing and transportation facilities.
Objectives : To examine the factors associated with the use of the prenatal care services provided by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family by married migrant women in Korea. Methods : We employed data from the 2015 Nationwide Multiculturale Family Survey. We selected 19- to 39-year-old married immigrant women with children aged 5 years or less for the study (N=1,579). We included four predisposing factors, six enabling factors, and two need factors based on the Andersen's Health-care Utilization Model. Results : Only one third of married immigrant women(31.6%) used prenatal care service and 45.9% of them reported prenatal care service needs. Area of residence, country of birth, and Korean language proficiency were significantly associated with prenatal care service use. Further, age, country of birth, length of time in Korea, household income, and discrimination experience were significantly associated. Conclusions : Findings suggest the need to develop strategies to improve accessibility to prenatal care service use especially for married immigrant women from developing countries, low-income families, having poor Korean language proficiency or having discrimination experience.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to identify the amount of calcium intake during late pregnancy and breastfeeding and compare the differences in the amount of calcium by subjects' characteristics. Methods: With a descriptive survey design, 121 Korean breastfeeding women were recruited in a community setting. The list of foods and drinks with calcium extracted from the study of Song and So (2007) was used to measure the amount of calcium intake during pregnancy and lactation. The subjects' characteristics were collected to identify differences in the amount of calcium intake. Results: Mean age of the women was 31 years old. Amount of calcium intake was 568mg per day during late pregnancy and 431mg per day during breastfeeding. These amounts were quite lower than a recommended dose that adult women should consume a daily minimum of 1,000mg of calcium. Women who had higher household income and attending experience for nutritional education took more calcium during breastfeeding and late pregnancy, respectively. Conclusion: More than a half of the breast-feeding women do not consume the recommended dose of calcium. Education for proper calcium consumption during pregnancy and lactation should be an additional subject in the prenatal and breastfeeding education program for women's bone health.
Objective: This study aimed to examine parenting education participation of Korean mothers in the transition to parenthood and its related variables. Method: A study sample was composed of 870 mothers whose first child was younger than one-year old from the Panel Study on Korean Children in 2008(mean age=30.1, SD = 3.69). The descriptive statistics of parenting education participation were presented. In addition, negative binomial and logistic regression models were used in Stata13 in order to examine the variables related to parenting education participation of mothers in the transition to parenthood. Results: Approximately 82% of the mothers reported that they had participated in at least one parenting education program. Further, mother's educational level, monthly household income, mother's working experience, and community type generally predicted parenting education participation of mothers. However, the effects of these variables varied by the subjects and the providing institutions. Conclusion: This study provides the overall picture of parenting education participation of Korean mothers in the transition to parenthood and its related variables. The findings can be utilized to plan more effective parenting education programs for new parents.
