There are many cases of production processes which intermittently produce several different kinds of products for stock through one set of physical facility. In this case, an important question is what size of production run should be prduced once we do set-up for a product in order to minimize the total cost, that is, the sum of the set-up, carrying, and stock-out costs. This problem is used to be called scheduling of multiple products through a single facility in the production management field. Despite the very common occurrence of this type of production process, no one has yet devised a method for determining the optimal production schedule. The purpose of this study is to develop quantitative analytical models which can be used practically and give us rational production schedules. The study is to show improved models with application to a can-manufacturing plant. In this thesis the economic production quantity (EPQ) model was used as a basic model to develop quantitative analytical models for this scheduling problem and two cases, one with stock-out cost, the other without stock-out cost, were taken into consideration. The first analytical model was developed for the scheduling of products through a single facility. In this model we calculate No, the optimal number of production runs per year, minimizing the total annual cost above all. Next we calculate No$_{i}$ is significantly different from No, some manipulation of the schedule can be made by trial and error in order to try to fit the product into the basic (No schedule either more or less frequently as dictated by) No$_{i}$, But this trial and error schedule is thought of inefficient. The second analytical model was developed by reinterpretation by reinterpretation of the calculating process of the economic production quantity model. In this model we obtained two relationships, one of which is the relationship between optimal number of set-ups for the ith item and optimal total number of set-ups, the other is the relationship between optimal average inventory investment for the ith item and optimal total average inventory investment. From these relationships we can determine how much average inventory investment per year would be required if a rational policy based on m No set-ups per year for m products were followed and, alternatively, how many set-ups per year would be required if a rational policy were followed which required an established total average inventory inventory investment. We also learned the relationship between the number of set-ups and the average inventory investment takes the form of a hyperbola. But, there is no reason to say that the first analytical model is superior to the second analytical model. It can be said that the first model is useful for a basic production schedule. On the other hand, the second model is efficient to get an improved production schedule, in a sense of reducing the total cost. Another merit of the second model is that, unlike the first model where we have to know all the inventory costs for each product, we can obtain an improved production schedule with unknown inventory costs. The application of these quantitative analytical models to PoHang can-manufacturing plants shows this point.int.

The experiments were carried out to develop ecological weed control system in wheat field of rice-wheat cropping system. The results were, depression effect on water foxtail by wheat seeding method decreased the seeding after doing soil rotary by 85% compared with the no practices. The occurrence of Water foxtail was 40 piece $m^{-2}$ on October 16, 29 piece $m^{-2}$ on October 26, and 4 piece $m^{-2}$ when surveying based on the standard of seeding the wheat at 15kg $ha^{-1}$ which decreased as the seeding time got later. According to the wheat seeding quantity 29 piece $m^{-2}$ occurred at 150kg $ha^{-1}$, and 8-11 piece $m^{-2}$ decreasingly at more than 200 kg $ha^{-1}$ of wheat seedlings based on seeding on October 26. As a result of summarizing the above results, crushing the soil by use of rotary before seeding wheat against the end of October, and seeding by increasing the seedling quantity (200 kg $ha^{-1}$) it is judged that the competition damage by weeds including water foxtail can be reduced without any use of herbicide.

Modular construction can improve construction quality and accuracy through manufacturing process, and it allow massive production and cost savings by repeatedly producing the same unit. In particular, it is possible to reduce the time because the on-site work and the manufacturing process can be carried out at simultaneously. However, according to the modular construction project survey report, there is no significant difference regarding the average construction period between modular construction and conventional construction. This is due to schedule delay problems that occur during construction phase. Therefore, it is necessary to select alternatives to prevent schedule delay during on-site construction progressing. Especially, in case of large-scale modular construction project, on-site module assembly and manufacturing process are performed concurrently. Hence, identification of alternatives should be done at the co-occurrence by taking both manufacturing and on-site work process in to account. In this research, the management factors of large-scale modular construction project were identified through the IDEF0 modeling, and the quantity management model for manufacturing and assembly is developed. This will reduce the schedule delay problem that occurs in the progression on-site work of a large scale modular construction.
According to recent ground collapse occurrence, ground subsidence is increasing every year in downtown area, which is a social problem. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between ground water level lowering and ground collapse through laboratory model experiments. After mixing 1:1 granite weathered soil with sand, sandy soil was formed as a relative density of 30%, 50%, and 80%. And then the changes of soil discharge with change of groundwater level were compared. The physical property of material of which particle distribution were well graded with maximu dry unit weight of $1.94kg/cm^3$ and internal friction angle of 37degrees. Ground water levels were measured at 10 cm, 20 cm, and 30 cm from the bottom. As a result, the experiment shows that the higher the groundwater level works the higher the discharge velocity and the magnitude of underground cavity also increases with elapsed time. Finally, the cumulative quantity of soil discharge occurred up to 30 kg at the elapsed time, 35 minutes. It was also confirmed that the range of ground collapse increased due to soil discharge with ground water level lowering.

The Korean Industrial Standard(KS) KS F 2527("Aggregates for Concrete") does not explicitly define criteria for clay mineral content in aggregates. This lack of clear quality standards and testing methodologies is further compounded by a scarcity of relevant research within both academic and industrial spheres. Consequently, the construction industry, encompassing both aggregate production and utilization, often overlooks the management of clay mineral content due to its perceived economic implications. This study addresses this gap by investigating the current state of regulations concerning clay mineral content in aggregates, exploring the causes of its occurrence, and evaluating its impact on concrete performance. The chemical composition of the clay minerals was determined to primarily consist of Al2O3, Fe2O3, and SiO2, which are commonly found in clay. X-ray diffraction(XRD) analysis revealed that the predominant clay minerals were montmorillonite and illite, both known for their high absorption capacity. An examination of domestic and international standards for clay mineral content in aggregates demonstrated that the density and absorption rate specifications outlined in KS F 2527("Aggregates for Concrete") only offer indirect estimations of clay mineral levels. Furthermore, the investigation into the influence of clay mineral content on concrete performance suggests that a higher clay mineral content necessitates a corresponding increase in the unit quantity of aggregates to maintain adequate workability. This, however, has a detrimental effect on the compressive strength of the concrete.
This studies were investigated the occurrence of sclerotinia rot at the crisphead lettuce field in Uiryeong-Gun, Gyeongsangnam-Do from January to May in 2003. Average incidence rates of sclerotinia rot on crisphead lettuce was up to 21.9% at the five plastic houses. A total of 140 isolates of Sclerotinia sp. were obtained from diseased leaves of crisphead lettuce. Among them, the fungi YR-1 was isolated, which showed highly virulent on the whole plant. the YR-1 was identified as Sclerotinia sclerotiorum based on the formation, color, shape and size of sclerotium and apothecium. For the pathogenicity test, the most suitable inoculum quantity of YR-1 strain was selected as the triturated mycelial suspension of $A_{550}$=0.8, 40 ml showing disease incidence of 94%, and the symptom showed as same as at the fields, the leaves and stem had rotten and developed white downy mycelial at the diseased lesion on the leaves and stems, and produced black and irregular sclerotinia. This is the first report on the pathogenicity test using by triturated mycelial suspension-inoculum of the pathogen for the sclerotinia rot of crisphead lettuce.
In early August 1978, a huge red tide occurred off Chilcheon Is, , at the mouth of Jinhae Bay. It expanded rapidly into the central part and then soon covered all the bay except the innermost part of the bay. After staying for a week it disappeared, and thereafter several small scale red tides partially occurred and disappeared untill the end of August. It differed from the red tides hitherto recorded from this bay in respect of the dominant plankter, the geographical extent and the severe damaging effect to local oyster resources. During the red tide period, nevertheless, no oyster damage was found. In September, however, oyster mortailty was found from all rafts and longlines in the bay. Except the inner most part of the bay the oyster farms were completely destroyed. Of the oyster Production in the winter 1978, $96\%$ of an estimated yield of 5,879 tons (shucked meat) was lost and it was estimated to be 2,275 million won, equivalent to $US\$$ 4.55 million. The dominant species was a dinoflagellate, Ceratium fusus and it constituted about $45\%$ of the total phytoplankton. Cell count showed $7.0\times10^4\;cells/\iota$ and chlorophyll-a, $50mg/m^3$ during red tide peak. No oxygen was found ill the bottom waters in September. Sulphides in bottom waters and in the superficial mud increased to 15 and 8-fold respectively in September compared with July ana August. Precipitation from January to May of 1978 was about a third in comparison with the past ten years average but rainfall ill June was two and half-fold more than normal year, and thereafter drought persisited till September Air and water temperatures were also higher, and sunny days continued for a long time without strong winds. Therefore, water was calm for a long time after the red tide extinguished. The result indicated that the occurrence of the Ceratium red tide occurred in that year which was characterized by the combination of the formation of almost anoxic bottom water before the red tide occurrence, high air temperature and the calmness after a great quantity of rainfall in June. The mass mortality of oysters was presumed not to be directly related with the red tide but with the depression of dissolved oxygen in the environmental waters at the bottom due to settling of the red tide organisms.

This study was carried out to investigate the difference of the content of soil chemical components and growth characteristics in six years old ginseng affected by application of decomposing plant residues in paddy-converted field. The results show that aerial parts of ginseng are no difference between press cake (PC) 200 kg/10a and control but subterranean parts of ginseng PC 200 kg/10a, especially quantity related root fresh weight and tap root diameter, are statically about 1.6 times heavier and about 1.2 times thicker than the ginseng control. Furthermore, the survival rate of PC 200 kg/10a is 67.1% rise significantly compare with the control 50.7%. But compared with the PC 200 kg/10a and the PC 400 kg/10a, ginseng root growth and survival rate of PC 400 kg/10a get worse and that increase physiological disorder occurrence rate than PC 200 kg/10a. Even though there are no significant differences between the ginseng of decomposing plant residues except press cake treatment and the ginseng of control in growth characteristics, it does tend to increase the survival rate and decrease the physiological disorder occurrence rate in most fertilizer treatment except for RSC 2 ton/10a, RSC 4 ton/10a and RH 4 kL/10a. Noted that EC is highly increased and exceeded 1.7 ds/m in RSC 2 ton/10a, RSC 4 ton/10a and RH 4kL/10a. It would be caused physiological disorder in many ways and affected ginseng growth characteristics, survival rate.
This study focuses on the sleep pattern of the elderly people living in the community and its relationship to the occurrences of the depression and deterioration of the cognitive function. Our primary data is the raw data gathered by the Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare in 2008 in the National Senior Living Conditions and Well-being Needs Assessment Survey. The survey contained data from 12,087 people over 65 years of age living in the community. We have used the secondary data analysis method on this raw data to see if there exists correlation between age, gender, soundness of the sleep, total sleep time and the depression and the cognitive difficulties. Our study finds that the older a person is, the more trouble she has in sleeping. It also shows that too much sleep (in excess of 9 hours) and too little sleep (less than 6 hours) can both be linked to more occurrence of depression. Lack of restful sleep could also be linked to more frequent occurrence of depression and cognitive difficulties. Changes in the sleep pattern is not always pathological in elderly people. However, our study shows that it is important the primary health-care givers understand the role of sleep in elderly person's daily life. They should examine the elderly person's sleep pattern focusing on the quantity and the quality of sleep and develop programs suited for individuals to prevent and intervene sleep disorder.
This study was carried out to provide the technology of silvicultural practices and management for regeneration by sprouts in the oak forests distributed on the slope. A total of 1,451 stumps were examined for the following factors relative to the occurrence and growth of the sprouts: stump height & diameter; location & quantity and root collar diameter & height of arisen sprouts. The amount of sprouts deceased or increased as the stump diameter increased. However, it tended to increase with stump height. The difference in the stump height between direction of the upwards (DUS) and downward slopes (DDS) was occurred, because oak trees were felled lower based on direction of the upward for convenience of regeneration works on the slope. The number of sprouts was higher relatively in the stumps of DDS. The rate of arisen side and root sprouts was higher in the stumps of DDS and DUS, respectively. The stump height difference was found to affect the arisen part of sprouts. As a result of comparing the sprouts growth according to the arisen part, there was no difference in the stump of DUS, but the growth of side sprouts in the stump of DDS was higher than that of the root. In order to improve the quality of oak sprouts considering the distribution characteristics of the oak forests in South Korea, it is necessary to apply the silvicultural technique, making the cutting surface parallel with the slope to reduce the stump height difference, to suppress arising side sprouts.
