Congestion and memory occupancy in computer system may be reduced further if new jobs are admitted only when the num-ber of jobs queued at CPU is below CPU run queue cutoff (RQ). In this paper we prove that response time of a job is invariant with respect to RQ if jobs do not communicate each other. We also demonstrate this invariance property numerically using marix-geometric methods and present an approximate method for the delay due to context switch-ing under time slicing. The approximation suggests that time slicing with constant overhead yields a throughput similar to an FCFS system without overhead.

There are no solar loads through windows and heat transfer from outer walls of the building to the interior This study analyzes indoor air temperature and air flow distribution for the interior of buildings or vessels occupying space. Numerical method is adopted to visualize the indoor side environmental situation. that is without heat transmission to outside the building in various cooling load conditions; supply ventilation lighting. occupancy and infiltration in conditioned spaces. Reaching time of an air conditioner is predicted theoretically by cooling load variations. Theoretical modelling of the reaching time shows good agreement with experimental results.
The pattern of traffic streams in residential streets is different from the ordinary roads separated by pedestrian and car lanes. Such fact makes it difficult to evaluate the new counter-measures with existing indices and methods. In this study, a unified, consistent new method is introduced as Time-Space Occupancy (TSO) concept. An application of TSO concept will suggest a TSO exposure volume index which can show the decree of danger in residential streets where vehicles, pedestrian and other traffic streams are interacted. The validity of TSO exposure volume index will be verified through the survey conducted in Seoul and the subjects will be the residents who live at various kinds of residential streets.
This study aims to improve the Evacuation Performance o( the I)inc()unto-store in underground that is rapidly new shopping store in Korea. In this paper, The architectural properties of the floor plan and section was reviewed with egress focus, occupant load density of the Discount-store was surveyed and the procedure and method of performance based egress design for this occupancy was analysed with SIMULEX model and calculation method. As a result of modeling, more longer available safe egress time (ASET) is expected than required safe egress time (RSET)in underground discount-store. In order to improve the Evacuation Performance for this type occupancy, egress capacity including escape stair, aisle width, escape door is calculated with based on occupant load density and review of shopping cart's structure and size and maximum escape capacity of the cash counter.
This paper aims to determining the optimal capacity of Pusan port in view point of Container Physical Distribution cost. It has been established a coast model of the container physical distribution system in Pusan port is composed of 4 sub-systems and in-land transport system. Cargo handling system, transfer & storage system and in-land transport system, and analyzed the cost model of the system. From this analysis, we found that the system had 7 routes including in-land transport by rail or road and coastal transport by feeder ship between Pusan port and cargo owner's door. Though railway transport cost was relatively cheap, but, it was limited to choose railway transport routes due to the introducing of transport cargo allocation practice caused by shortage of railway transport capacity. The physical distribution ost for total import & export container through Pusan port was composed of 4.47% in port entring cost, 12.98% in cargo handling cost, 7.44% in transfer & storage cost and 75.11% in in-land transport cost. Investigation in case of BCTOC verified the results as follows. 1) The optimal level of one time cargo handling was verified 236VAN (377TEU) and annual optimal handling capacity was calculated in 516, 840VAN(826, 944TEU) where berth occupancy is $\rho$=0.6 when regardless of port congestion cost, 2) The optimal level of one time cargo handling was verified 252VAN (403TEU) and annual optimal handling capacity was calculated in 502, 110VAN (803, 376TEU) where berth occupancy is $\rho$=0.58 when considering of port congestion cost.

Network anomaly detection is a technology that collects information about flows on a network and detects malicious attacks occurring in a network in real time. In-band Network Telemetry (INT) technology provides more detailed information in real time, that is not provided by existing networks, such as hop latency and queue occupancy. In this paper, we propose the method to implement an anomaly detection system with higher performance by using INT as an input feature of machine learning and verify it through experiments.

The purpose of this research is how to estimate the traffic queue length in the signal intersection accurately. The current traffic queue length algorithm in COSMOS has been using the congestion diagram which comes from the speed of an average separated vehicle - using average vehicle length and the occupancy time from loop detectors. So some errors were occurred by the speed estimation method using average vehicle lengths. And Operators had been difficult to optimize some variables for measuring the traffic queue length estimation algorithm in COSMOS. Therefore the traffic queue length estimation algorithm on the basis of the relation between distances and occupancy rates from loop detectors was developed in this thesis. This thesis had the advantage of using occupancy rates which came out from loop detectors easily and no need to optimize some variables for the established algorithm in COSMOS. And the results of testing this algorithm in some sites which had installed COSMOS system showed better results than COSMOS system's results. But it was noted that further studies which carry it out in various sites and under various cases are necessary for applying to actual intersections.

Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) have a limited bandwidth for real-time communication, limiting rapid responses to unexpected obstacles. This study addressed how AUVs can navigate to a target without a pre-existing obstacle map by generating one in real-time and avoiding obstacles. This paper proposes using forward-looking sonar with an occupancy grid map (OGM) for real-time obstacle mapping and a potential field algorithm for avoiding obstacles. The OGM segments the map into grids, updating the obstacle probability of each cell for precise, quick mapping. The potential field algorithm attracts the AUV towards the target and uses repulsive forces from obstacles for path planning, enhancing computational efficiency in a dynamic environment. Experiments were conducted in coastal waters with obstacles to verify the real-time obstacle mapping and avoidance algorithm. Despite the high noise in sonar data, the experimental results confirmed effective obstacle mapping and avoidance. The OGM-based potential field algorithm was computationally efficient, suitable for single-board computers, and demonstrated proper parameter adjustments through two distinct scenarios. The experiments also identified some of challenges, such as dynamic changes in detection rates, propulsion bubbles, and changes in repulsive forces caused by sudden obstacles. An enhanced algorithm to address these issues is currently under development.

Image processing technique in the outdoor environment is very sensitive, and it tends to lose a lot of accuracy when it rapidly changes by outdoor environment. Therefore, in order to calculate accurate traffic information using the traffic monitoring system, we must resolve removing shadow in transition time, Distortion by the vehicle headlights at night, noise of rain, snow, and fog, and occlusion. In the research, we developed a system to calibrate the amount of traffic, speed, and time occupancy by using image processing technique in a variety of outdoor environments change. This system were tested under outdoor environments at the Gonjiam test site, which is managed by Korea Institute of Construction Technology (www.kict.re.kr) for testing performance. We evaluated the performance of traffic information, volume counts, speed, and occupancy time, with 4 lanes (2 lanes are upstream and the rests are downstream) from the 16th to 18th December, 2008. The evaluation method performed as based on the standard data is a radar detection compared to calculated data using image processing technique. The System evaluation results showed that the amount of traffic, speed, and time occupancy in period (day, night, sunrise, sunset) are approximately 92-97% accuracy when these data compared to the standard data.
The purpose of this study is to analyze elementary teachers' science class objectively and quantitatively using Mobile Eye Tracker. The mobile eye tracker is easy to wear in eyeglasses form. And experiments are collected in video form, so it is very useful for realizing objective data of teacher's class situation in real time. Participants in the study were 2 elementary teachers, and they are teaching sixth grade science in Seoul. Participants took a 40-minute class wearing a mobile eye tracker. Eye movements of participants were collected at 60 Hz, and the collected eye movement data were analyzed using SMI BeGaze 3.7. In this study, the area related to the class was set as the area of interest, we analyzed the visual occupancy of teachers. In addition, we analyzed the linguistic interaction between teacher and students. The results of the study are as follows. First, we analyze the visual occupancy of meaningful areas in teaching-learning activities by class stage. Second, the analysis of eye movements when teachers interacted with students showed that teacher A had a high percentage of students' faces, while teacher B had a high visual occupation in areas not related to classes. Third, the linguistic interaction of the participants were analyzed. Analysis areas include questions, attention-focused language, elementary science teaching terminology, daily interaction, humor, and unnecessary words. This study shows that it is possible to analyze elementary science class objectively and quantitatively through analysis of visual occupancy using mobile eye tracking. In addition, it is expected that teachers' visual attention in teaching activities can be used as an index to analyze the form of language interaction.
