OASIS : Large-scale, wide-area storage system based on IP (OASIS : IP 기반의 대규모 광역 스토리지 시스템)

  • In this paper, a large-scale, wide-area storage system based on IP is proposed which is under development. OASIS is a storage system enforced with very high-scalability up to hundreds and thousands of clients over IP network, and it is able to extend the service to the wide area network. For this purpose, we adopt an storage interconnection technology based on IP, the object based storage technology and a clustered server architecture which provides high-scalability and availability to our system. This system can be utilized to provide network storage service which gains more reality with the incoming FTTH and WiBro services.

  • I recognized necessity of the space planning to three-generation dwelling because of preservation of wholesome society sense of values of the younger generation indicated often to the point at issue by the change to nuclear family of present and by way to hand down thought of respect for the aged which is our traditional public morals. I wish to present basic data for storage space planning that resident's request and consciousness are reflected in such background. I investigated records in general concept, which is utilization pattern of storage space to achieve the function of these culture intermediation. The object of research is three-generation dwelling, such as 3L-K and 3L-DK as national residences that appear most generally in chongju city. The method of research was question investigation method to write utilization actual conditions and requirement of storage space directly. So I proposed suitable planning to resident's life style analyzing frequency, percentage and average distribution. When supply apartment house hereafter, it should be reflected wide selection by resident's characteristic and needed systematic storage space planning in consideration of user mainly. Also continuous and diversified researches that can improve quality of residence are required.

  • Generally we use web cache in order to increase performance of web base system, and a replacement technique has a great influence on performance of web cache. A web cache replacement technique is different from a replacement technique of memory scope, and a unit substituted for is web object Also, as for the web object, a variation of user reference characteristics is very great. Therefore, a web cache replacement technique can reflect enough characteristics of this web object. But the existing web caching techniques were not able to reflect enough these object reference characteristics. A principal viewpoint of this study is reference characteristic analysis, an elevation of an object hit rate, an improvement of response time. First of all we analyzed a reference characteristics of an web object by log analysis. And we divide web cache storage scope using the result of reference characteristics analysis. In the experiment result, we can confirm that performance of an object-hit ratio and a response speed was improved than a conventional technique about a proposal technique.

  • This paper addresses the design and implementation of class distribution in distributed object-oriented databases. The proposed strategy of distribution consists of two-step design of fragments. One is class fragmentation and the other is allocation of fragments. In step of class fragmentation, we have defined partitioning algorithms to reflect the characteristics of object-oriented databases such as method, inheritance and composite-object. In step of allocation, we have defined the objective function for allocation considering system operating cost including storage, query processing and communication and implemented it using Genetic Algorithm.

An User Controllable Object Audio File Format and Audio Scene Description (사용자 기반 실감 객체 오디오 파일 포맷 및 오디오 장면 묘사 기법)

  • Multi-media service has been changed into user based audio services, which service supports actively user's preference and interaction with the users. In the market, multi-media products which can support the highest audio-quality by using lossless audio technology have been released and object audio music which user can select the objects has been serviced. In this paper, we design user's preference information based object audio file format and audio scene description for storage and transmission media. The designed file format is designed based on MPEG-4 file format because high-quality audio codecs in MPEG-4 audio can be easily used and the track of file format can be flexibly controlled depend on the number of the instrument in music. The encoded audio data of each objects and encoded audio scene description by binary encoding that has independent track are packed in a file. The scene description for storage media is consist of full and object scene description, the scene description for transmission media has an essential description for object audio operation and a specific description for real audio sound. The designed file format based simulator is developed and it generates an object audio file with several scene descriptions. Also, the real audio sound is serviced by the interaction with user and the unpacked scene description.

A Web Cache Replacement Technique of the Divided Scope Base that Considered a Size Reference Characteristics of Web Object

  • We proposed a Web cache replacement technique of a divided scope base that considered a size reference characteristics of a Web object for efficient operation of a Web base system and, in this study, analyzed performance of the replacement technique that proposed it though an experiment. We analyzed a reference characteristics of size to occur by a user reference characteristics through log analysis of a Web Base system in an experiment. And we divide storage scope of a cache server as its analysis result and tested this replacement technique based n divided scope. The proposed technique has a flexibility about a change of a reference characteristics of a user. Also, experiment result, we compared it with LRU and the LRUMIN which were an existing replacement technique and confirmed an elevation of an object hit ratio.

  • We present a multi-view autostereoscopic display system based on volume holographic storage technique. In this proposed system, the interference pattern of spatial multiplexed plane reference and angular multiplexed plane object beams are recorded into a photorefractive crystal, which plays a role of guiding object beams of multi-view images into the desired persfective directions. For reconstruction, object beams containing the desired multi-view image information, which satisfy Bragg matching condition, are illuminated in the time-division multiplexed manner onto the crystal. Then multiple stereoscopic images are Projected to the display plane for autostereoscopic 3D viewing.

Refractive media flatness measurement by phase shifting digital holography (위상천이 디지털 홀로그래피를 이용한 평판의 표면 평면도 측정)

  • We measured the surface flatness of both sides for refractive media using the transmitted digital holography method. To enhance the accuracy of the result, phase-shifting system was used. With two different phase modulation of reference beam, the phase profile of object can be easily obtained. Thus, we proposed the surface measurement method which can measure large area fast, compared with conventional methods. To guarantee the reliability of obtained result, we compared with Zygo measurement system. With the proposed method, the surface flatness of $3.45{\mu}m$ resolution could be obtained.

  • Higher density in the holographic storage can be obtained by using shorter wavelength laser and higher numerical aperture (NA). In this paper, we adopted a blue laser diode with a wavelength of 405nm and high NA object lens. And the phase conjugation method is applied to prevent image distortion due to high NA. The performance of the system has been shown experimentally.

  • It is known that slab thermal storage which uses concrete slab as thermal material is effective in the load leveling and using the nighttime electric power. The temperature distribution is not constant in plenum in thermal storage time by beams, ducts such as several factor. It is considered that this fact will effect on efficiency of thermal storage and indoor thermal environment. The purpose of this paper is to examine the thermal environment inside plenum. A macro model was made for the analysis of indoor thermal environment as the first step. The flow rate distribution and temperature distribution of object room model was examined by use of basic equations such as airflow by the pressure difference between unit cells, heat flow by air and heat transfer.
