Algorithm and Performance Evaluation of High-speed Distinction for Condition Recognition of Defective Nut (불량 너트의 상태인식을 위한 고속 판별 알고리즘 및 성능평가)

  • In welding machine that executes existing spot welding, wrong operation of system has often occurs because of their mechanical motion that can be caused by a number of supply like the welding object. In exposed working environment for various situations such as worker or related equipment moving into any place that we are unable to exactly distinguish between good and not condition of nut. Also, in case of defective welding of nut, it needs various evaluation and analysis through image processing because the problem that worker should be inspected every single manually. Therefore in this paper, if the object was not stabilization state correctly, we have purpose to algorithm implementation that it is to reduce the analysis time and exact recognition as to improve system of image processing. As this like, as image analysis for assessment whether it is good or not condition of nut, in his paper, implemented algorithms were suggested and list by group and that it showed the effectiveness through more than one experiment. As the result, recognition rate of normality and error according to the estimation time have been shown as 40%~94.6% and 60%~5.4% from classification 1 of group 1 to classification 11 of group 5, and that estimation time of minimum, maximum, and average have been shown as 1.7sec.~0.08sec., 3.6sec.~1.2sec., and 2.5sec.~0.1sec.

Component Analysis and Antioxidative Activity of Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii Nut (구실잣밤나무 열매의 성분분석 및 항산화활성 평가)

  • This study was carried out to investigate potential applications of the extract of Castanopsis cuspidata var. sieboldii $N_{AKAI}$ nut as a functional food ingredient. The pH and $^{\circ}Brix$ of nut were 6.43 and 3.17, respectively. L, a and b values as Hunter's color were 83.07, 1.49 and 10.48, respectively. Total content of monosaccharide was 54.26 mg% and organic acids were composed of oxalic acid 495.37 mg%, formic acid 200.03 mg%, malic acid 93.65 mg%, citric acid 27.80 mg%, and succinic acid 16.61 mg%. Total phenolic contents in various solvent extracts were as follows: water 27.69 mg%, 75% ethanol 16.50 mg%, ethyl acetate 16.50 mg%, and methanol 10.30 mg%. The antioxidant activity ($SC_{50},\;{\mu}g/mL$) of the nut extracts by various solvents was in the order of ethyl acetate 74.88 > methanol 155.00 > n-hexane 213.33 > ethanol 249.33 > butanol 274.78 > chloroform 314.67 > 75% ethanol 848.33 > water extracts 869.67. The results indicated that the extract of C. cuspidata nut contained a potential food ingredient.

Flowering and Nut Fruit Characteristics after Soil Amendment Treatments in Chestnut (Castanea crenata S. et Z.) Orchards (토양 개량제 처리에 따른 밤나무의 개화 및 종실 형질 특성)

  • This study was carried out to examine the effect of soil amendment treatments [(organic fertilizer: 20 kg $tree^{-1}$; compound fertilizer+wood-char fertilizer: compound fertilizer 4 kg $tree^{-1}$+wood-char 2 kg $tree^{-1}$; lime fertilizer: 3 kg $tree^{-1}$; mixed fertilizer: compound fertilizer 1 kg $tree^{-1}$+organic fertilizer 10 kg $tree^{-1}$+wood-char 1 kg $tree^{-1}$; control (no fertilizer)] on flowering and fruit characteristics in chestnut (Castanea crenata S. et Z.) orchards in Jinju and Sancheong, Gyeongsangnam-do. Diameter of fruiting shoot increased generally after soil amendment treatments compared with the control, while number of leaf, female and male flowers were not affected by the treatments. Nut weight increased after soil amendment treatments in Jinju, but was not affected by the treatments in Sancheong. There was a positive correlation between soil pH (r=0.91) or exchangeable $Ca^{2+}$ (r=0.99) and nut weight in Jinju and a positive correlation (r=0.97) between organic carbon content and soluble solid concentration, while a negative correlation (r=-0.92) between exchangeable $Mg^{2+}$ and soluble solid concentration of nuts in Jinju. However, the nut weight and soluble solid concentration in Sancheong were not correlated with soil properties. The results indicate that the characteristics of flowering and nuts in chestnut orchards depend on soil properties after soil amendment treatments between regions which show better responses on poor sites than on good sites.

Roles of CYP1A1 and CYP2E1 Gene Polymorphisms in Oral Submucous Fibrosis

  • Background: Oral submucous fibrosis (OSF) is a precancerous condition with a 4 to13% malignant transformation rate. Related to the habit of areca nut chewing it is mainly prevalent in South-east Asian countries where the habit of betel quid chewing is frequently practised. On chewing, alkaloids and polyphenols are released which undergo nitrosation and give rise to N-nitrosamines which are cytotoxic agents. CYP450 is a microsomal enzyme group which metabolizes various endogenous and exogenous chemicals including those released by areca nut chewing. CYP1A1 plays a central role in metabolic activation of these xenobiotics, whereas CYP2E1 metabolizes nitrosamines and tannins. Polymorphisms in genes that code for these enzymes may alter their expression or function and may therefore affect an individuals susceptibility regarding OSF and oral cancer. The present study was therefore undertaken to investigate the association of polymorphisms in CYP1A1 m2 and CYP2E1 (RsaI/PstI) sites with risk of OSF among areca nut chewers in the Northern India population. A total of 95 histopathologically confirmed cases of OSF with history of areca nut chewing not less than 1 year and 80, age and sex matched controls without any clinical signs and symptoms of OSF with areca nut chewing habit not less than 1 year were enrolled. DNA was extracted from peripheral blood samples and polymorphisms were analyzed by PCR-RFLP method. Gene polymorphism of CYP1A1 at NcoI site was observed to be significantly higher (p = 0.016) in cases of OSF when compared to controls. Association of CYP1A1 gene polymorphism at NcoI site and the risk of OSF (Odd's Ratio = 2.275) was also observed to be significant. However, no such association was observed for the CYP2E1 gene polymorphism (Odd's Ratio = 0.815). Our results suggest that the CYP1A1 gene polymorphism at the NcoI site confers an increased risk for OSF.

Triglyceride Composition of Pine Nut Oil (잣기름의 Triglyceride조성(組成))

  • The present study was directed to define the triglyceride composition of pine nut oil. The triglycerides were separated from pine nut oil by thin layer chromatography, and fractionated by high performance liquid chromatography on the basis of partition numbers. Each of these collected fractions were fractionated again by gas liquid chromatography (GLC) according to the acyl carbon number of the triglyceride, and fatty acid composition of the triglyceride was also analyzed by GLC. The pine nut oil consisted of thirty two kinds of triglycerides, and the major triglycerides of pine nut oil were those of $(C_{18:2},\;C_{18:2},\;C_{18:3}\;;\;34.9%)$, $(C_{18:1},\;C_{18:2},\;C_{18:3}\;;\;10.8%)$, $(C_{18:1},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:2}\;;\;9.9%)$, $(C_{18:1},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:1}\;;\;6.5%)$, $(C_{18:1},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:2}\;;\;6.3%)$, $(C_{18:1},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:3}\;;\;4.8%)$, $(C_{16:0},\;C_{18:2},\;C_{18:3}\;;\;3.3%)$, $(C_{18:0},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:2}\;;\;2.7%)$, $(C_{16:0},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:2}\;;\;2.6%)$, $(C_{16:0},\;C_{18:2},\;C_{18:2}\;;\;2.2%)$, $(C_{16:0},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:3}\;;\;1.9%)$, $(C_{16:0},\;C_{18:2},\;C_{18:2}\;;\;1.7%)$, $(C_{16:0},\;C_{18:1},\;C_{18:1}\;;\;1.7%)$, $(C_{18:1},\;C_{18:3},\;C_{18:3}\;;\;1.5%)$.

Deep Learning Based Pine Nut Detection in UAV Aerial Video (UAV 항공 영상에서의 딥러닝 기반 잣송이 검출)

  • Pine nuts are Korea's representative nut forest products and profitable crops. However, pine nuts are harvested by climbing the trees themselves, thus the risk is high. In order to solve this problem, it is necessary to harvest pine nuts using a robot or an unmanned aerial vehicle(UAV). In this paper, we propose a deep learning based detection method for harvesting pine nut in UAV aerial images. For this, a video was recorded in a real pine forest using UAV, and a data augmentation technique was used to supplement a small number of data. As the data for 3D detection, Unity3D was used to model the virtual pine nut and the virtual environment, and the labeling was acquired using the 3D transformation method of the coordinate system. Deep learning algorithms for detection of pine nuts distribution area and 2D and 3D detection of pine nuts objects were used DeepLabV3+, YOLOv4, and CenterNet, respectively. As a result of the experiment, the detection rate of pine nuts distribution area was 82.15%, the 2D detection rate was 86.93%, and the 3D detection rate was 59.45%.

Consideration of the Quantitative Nut Characteristics in Chestnut Hybrids (밤나무 교잡종(交雜種) 과실(果實)의 양적특성(量的特性)에 관한 고찰(考察))

  • This study, basic research for releasing new chestnut cultivar, is conducted to consider quantitative nut characteristics according to combinations and individuals In 11 chestnut hybrids. Number of bur on bearing branch(NBB) and nut yield(NY), which showed large difference among combinations, was superior in JO ($Joook{\times}Otanba$) and KO ($Kwangeun{\times}Otanba$) combinations, respectively. Average nut weight (NW) was 21.1g, the highest in EO ($Eunsan{\times}Otanba$) combination. Nut shape which was expressed to the rate of nut height and width, was investigated to the range of 1.13-1.23 in the all combinations, so nut shape of all combinations showed oval type. EO and JO combinations, which were measured to 30.0% and 27.5%, respectively in the percentage with the pericarp split(PPS), were produced more bad fruits than the others. OK ($Otanba{\times}Kwangeun$) combination, 1.7%, was the most excellent in the percentage of polyembryonic nuts(PPN), and the superior combinations which was measured to the below 5%, could be included five combinations. ER and RK combinations, were the highest values, 16.3% and $10.0kg/cm^2$, in soluble solids content(SSC) and kernel hardness (KH), respectively. NBB showed highly positive correlation with NY, but showed highly negative correlation with SSC and NW. NW showed highly positive correlation with PPS, but showed highly negative correlation with SSC and NH. PPS showed highly positive correlation with PPN. Eight individuals such as superior individuals could be selected by selection criteria.

  • In this study, we will try to develop the 3D automatic design program of limit gauge. When users, who Have some mechanical information input some date, they can do 3D-modeling easily like expert. This is one of the merit in automatic design program and the automatic design program can compare the limit gauge made in this study with processed the bolt and nut model. This demonstrates the effective value of automatic design model. Limits gauge of sort divide into ring gauge of measuring bolt and pin gauge of measuring nut.
