Purpose: To examine patient satisfaction with nursing care and the difference of patient satisfaction by the characteristics of emergency care service in the center for emergency medicine. Method: We surveyed 145 patients who visited Pusan-Wide Emergency Medical Center from Nov 01, 2003 to Nov 30, 2003. Patient satisfaction was assessed by asking patients and medical records reviewed to obtain the characteristics of emergency care service. Results: The mean score of patient satisfaction with nursing care was 3.12. For patient satisfaction, 'The nurse seemed earnestly concerned about my pain, fear, and anxiety' represented highest score (3.58). Patient satisfaction according to the general characteristics of patients was revealed as significantly high for the higher educated and the older. Patient satisfaction by the characteristics of emergency care service was significantly higher in no-wait group. Conclusion: Also, the fundamental of nursing, like respect for human, was maintained in emergency setting, the hospital's administration has implemented service for a high level of satisfaction with nursing care up to the expectations of the patients for with the staff and medical equipment.
Purpose: This study was to review the previous studies on the 'Willingness to Pay (WTP)' for healthcare services and suggest future implications for nursing research. Methods: Using the scoping review method, we used RISS, KISS, KMbase, Koreamed, PubMed, EMbase, CINAHL as searching engines. According to the selection and exclusion criteria, 40 appropriate studies were selected and analyzed. Results: 24 studies were categorized into medical service field among medical, public health, and nursing service fields. A total of 16 studies were related to healthcare system (policies), 13 studies were to the healthcare intervention, and 11 studies were categorized into the health management. Most of the methods for eliciting WTP (70%) were about a contingent valuation method (CVM), and the use of double bounded dichotomous choice (DBDC) tended to increase. In the nursing field, five WTP studies were identified: two studies published in the early years of 2000, which were conducted on hospital-based home health visit services. Recent studies were mostly about counseling and education by advanced practice nurses (APNs). Conclusion: WTP studies on healthcare services were largely published from the medical fields and health policy areas with the CVM method. In the field of nursing, studies have been conducted on the subject of limited service areas. More active exploration of research topics is required, particularly under the current policy setting, where discussion of the public health insurance fee for nursing practice is essential.

The purpose of this study were to analyze the home care services and to evaluate the client's satisfaction with the home care services provided by home care service center in the C hospital. The data were collected by reviewing charts of 128 home care clients who were receiving home care services at C hospital from October 1997 to September 2000. The subjects for satisfaction of home care service were 20 clients from July 10 to September 30, 2000. The tool for measurement of present condition of home care service was developed by the researchers. The satisfactions of the home care services were measured by using the instrument developed by Im(997). The data were analyzed by using the SPSS/PC+. The results of this study were as followings : 1. Majority of the subjects was female(61.7%). The average of age was 63.5 years. The service has been used mostly by the elderly 60 years of age or older(71.1%). The economic level of most of subjects was in middle class(94.5%). 2. Majority of the subject had a cancer(55.4%), following stroke(25.0%). The average duration of disease for the subjects was 31 months. The average time of hospitalization for the subjects was 3.3 times. The duration of hospitalization was 10$\sim$30 days(26.6%), 30$\sim$60 days(23.4%) and above of the 210 days(9.4%). 3. Most of the subjects used his/her doctor (47.7%), as a consultant, following his/her nurse (28.1%), other patients or their family (21.9%). Most of reasons for a consultation were supportive management(Infusion or medication, 60.94%), following tube management(L-tube or T-tube, 25%), Foley catheter management (15.63%) etc. 4. 28 types of nursing diagnoses were used by the home care service. The nursing diagnosis altered nutrition: less than body requirement were used mostly by the home care service, following risk for infection, impaired skin integrity, impaired swallowing, ineffective airway clearance altered comfort: pain, impaired physical mobility. By the human-response pattern, exchanging(63.2%), moving(7.5%), feeling(10.4%), knowing(5.2%), communicating (2.6%), relating(0.5%) perceiving(0.4%) and choosing(0.3%). There were 42 nursing intervention types were performed by the home care service. By the NIC(nursing intervention classification. McCloskey. Bulech. 1996). physiologic: complex (30.3%) was the most, safety(28.3%), behavioral(20.0%), physiologic: basic(10.8%) and health system(1.7%). Observation or assessment was the most nursing intervention performed by the home care service. following IV infusion. vital sign observation. infusion management and fluid-electrolyte balance management. 5. The level of client's satisfaction with provided home care services showed considerably high(2.67/ 3).
The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of emotional labor, resilience, nursing work environment on turnover intentions of comprehensive nursing care medical service ward nurses. The data were collected from 186 subjects using a structured self-report questionnaires and analyzed using SPSS WIN Version 22.0. The mean score of emotional labor, resilience, nursing work environment, and turnover intentions were 3.66, 3.52, 2.62, and 3.82. Turnover intentions had significant correlation with emotional labor, resilience and nursing work environment. The influencing factors on turnover intentions were sex, emotional labor, resilience and nursing work environment of comprehensive nursing care medical service ward nurses. These result indicates that in order to reduce the turnover intentions of comprehensive nursing care medical service ward nurses, it is necessary to develop and apply an intervention programs considering sex, emotional labor, resilience, and nursing work environment.
The purpose of this study is to verify the relationship between medical service quality, relationship quality and patient loyalty in domestic nursing hospitals and the mediating effect between medical service quality and patient loyalty. A survey was conducted on 324 inpatients in nursing hospitals, and statistical analysis was conducted on the collected data through questionnaire survey. The following main results were derived. First, among the quality of medical services, the reputation of nursing facility equipment, nursing medical staff, nursing service system, and nursing facility was found to have a significant positive effect on the quality of the relationship, but medical expenses had no significant effect. Second, among the quality of the relationship, both trust and commitment were found to have a significant positive effect on patient loyalty. Third, among the quality of medical services, the reputation of nursing facility equipment, nursing medical staff, nursing service system, and nursing facility was found to have a significant positive effect on patient loyalty, but medical expenses had no significant effect. Fourth, it was found that nursing facility equipment, nursing medical staff, nursing service system, and reputation of nursing facilities, excluding nursing care expenses, all had a positive effect on patient loyalty through the quality of relationships between patients and hospitals.
The purpose of this study is to identify if there is difference in the attitude toward the elderly and the elderly patients among nursing students and nurses. Data were collected between August 1 and November 30, 2012 by using a structured questionnaire and the participants of this study were 423 nursing students in 6 universities and 244 nurses in 5 hospitals. The nursing students and nurses had more negative attitudes toward elderly patients than the elderly. There was difference in attitudes toward elderly patients according to grade, whether to take gerontological nursing course, the level of interest in the Aged, and whether to have experience in living with the old in the past among nursing students. There was difference in attitudes toward elderly patients according to the quality of volunteer service experience among nurses. In order to identify the attitudes accurately in nursing studies or education related to the elderly, the process to classify and define the objects of attitudes in details should be administered first.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors of customer loyalty among guardians of residents in nursing homes. Methods: The sample of this study consisted of 229 guardians of residents in nursing homes. Data were collected with self-administrated questionnaires and analyzed hierarchical multiple regression. Results: All variables were positively correlated with customer loyalty except the length of stay. It was found that residents' length of stay, customer satisfaction and service value had significant influence on customer loyalty. The explained variance for customer loyalty was 71.3%. The service value had the greatest influence on customer loyalty. Conclusions: These findings provide strong empirical evidence for customer satisfaction and service value in explaining customer loyalty of guardian of residents in nursing homes.

The purpose of this study was to understand the meaning of experiences in home visiting nursing service among the elderly in community provided by nursing students. Method: This is a phenomenological study to investigate the experience of community-based patients. Data were collected through in-depth interviews from the 4th of March to the 15th of December 2003. Individual interviews were conducted with 8 patients on subjective experiences. Data were analyzed through Colaizzi's method, in which meaningful statements were extracted. Result: Four categories were identified from nine theme clusters. The four categories were 'thankfulness', 'dependence', 'sorrowfulness' and 'the sense of being'. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors affecting job satisfaction of nurses in nursing care service ward. The subjects were 127 nurses, nursing job satisfaction, nursing intuition, and nursing work environment using the 5 - point Likert scale. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, correlation and regression analysis using SPSS WIN 23.0 program. The results showed that the correlation between job satisfaction and independent variables in nursing and nursing care service ward was significant in nursing professionalism (r = .90, p <.001) and nursing work environment (r = .75, p <.001). In addition, factors affecting job satisfaction were in the order of nursing professionalism and nursing work environment (F = 31.516, p <.001), and explanatory power was 84.1%. Therefore, Therefore, the necessity of nursing convergency strategy for improvement of these is suggested.
The present descriptive study investigated the influence of violence experienced by nursing staff in long-term care hospitals and their emotional intelligence on the quality of nursing service. The study participants included 167 nursing staff from 9 different long-term care hospitals in G and C Provinces. Data collected from questionnaires were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 software. While slight differences were found among the subtypes of violence experience, it was found that verbal violence was the most common form in violence, experienced by the nursing staff, followed by physical threat and physical violence. A hierarchical regression analysis performed to investigate the degree of influence of violence experience and emotional intelligence on the quality of nursing service found that violence experience did not significantly affect the quality of nursing service when the general characteristics were controlled whereas emotional intelligence had a significant influence on the quality of nursing service. The results of this study show that, although it is commonly believed that violence experience is a major factor compromising the quality of nursing service, emotional intelligence, which reflects one's ability to utilize and control one's emotions, may actually have a more significant impact on the quality of nursing service. Emotional intelligence can be improved through education and training; therefore, it is necessary to explore ways to improve emotional intelligence of nursing staff such as development of various programs.
