This study was conducted for the purpose of identifying the trends of nursing research and to suggest the direction of future research in the graduate levels of the study. The data was collected from 469 abstracts of master's and doctoral rapers from three graduate schools, one in Nursing, another in Education, and the other in Public Health Graduate College. The results of the study are as follows: The number of research was increased from 102 to 286 between the 1970 s and 1980's. The most frequently employed research design was descriptive studies in the master's level, but there was some balance between descriptive and experimental studies along with some qualitative approaches in the doctoral thesis. Patients were the most often studied sample group reaching 42% of the cases, though it Was noted that there was steady shift: toward the non-ratient population. With this shifting of the study sample, the places of the study also have showed some changes moving toward community. The most widely studied area was in clinical practice. Chronic illness, preventive, and health promoting areas of studies also increased in numbers. However, most of them were at the descriptive level of phenomena and only a few were concerned with cost/effective measures of nursing intervention. The number of variables studied repeatedly more than five times was 43. They were not only physical but also psychosocial aspects which imply the efforts to incorporate the whole person in nursing discipline. However, most researches with repeated studies showed little relation to previous studies, and thus little accumulation in knowledge. There was also little evidence of linkage to nursing theory in most studies of master's level. For the doctoral rapers, 17 out of 51 rapers showed specific theories related to the researches. Based on the above findings, the following suggestions were made. Various research design should be employed including case studies, historical studies, as well as qualitative approaches. There should be more effort to establish linkage between theory and research. The areas needing more attention are Korean Nursing History, Ethics in our Culture, Cost/Effective Measures of Nursing Intervention, Concept and Thory Development, and the Strategies for the Implication of the Research Results in clinical practice.
This study is to provide basic data on intervention methods to enhance the performance of infection control by grasping the relationship between ethical decision-making, moral sensitivity and infection control performance of nursing students in the global COVID-19 pandemic. General characteristics, major-related characteristics, ethical decision-making, moral sensitivity, and infection control were investigated using a structured questionnaires for 3rd and 4rd graders of nursing college. To analyze collected data, descriptive statistics, indepentent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression anlaysis were performed using IBM SPSS21.0 program. As a result of this study, factors influencing the performance of COVID-19 infection control were the principle of beneficence, which is the sub area of ethical decsion-making, and conflict and patient-centered nursing, which is the sub-area of moral sensitivity. In order to improve infection control of nursing students who are prospective medical professionals in a situation where new infectious diseases are highly likely to occur in the future, it is required to develop a practice-oriented convergence education programs for nurses which can improve ethics of patient centered nursing.

The study was intended to identify the nurses' experiences, understanding, and attitudes on DNR. Also, the study was to provide the data base for a standard of DNR decision-making and practice. The sample consisted of 347 nurses in eight general hospitals. The data were collected between August 1 and August 31, 2000. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and $x^2-test$. The results of the study were as follows : 1. Regarding DNR-related experience, 74.6 percent of the participants experienced DNR situations. Eleven percent of the participants received DNR education. DNR was most frequently (81.5%) requested by family members and relatives of patients. The decision-making on DNR was most frequently (76.8%) made by agreement between family members and medical staff. The DNR order was recorded at 81.9 percent on charts. Problems after DNR order were negligence in treatment and nursing care (30.6%) and guilty feelings due to doing the best (22.1%). CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) was performed about 49.8 percent of DNR cases. 2. Regarding understanding and attitude on DNR, most of the participants (93.1%) thought DNR was necessary. The major reasons for the necessity of DNR were impossible recovery (44.4%) and death with dignity (41.1%). The decision-making on DNR was most frequently made by patient and family members (47.8%) and followed by agreement between family members and medical staff (25.6%), and patients themselves (16.4%). Most of the participants thought that medical staff must explain DNR to critical and end-of-life patients and their family members. Forty four percent of the participants thought that the most appropriate time for DNR explanation was when patients with critical disease were admitted to hospitals. Most of the participants (90.2%) thought a guide book for DNR is necessary to be made in hospitals. 3. There were significant differences in the participants' understanding and attitudes on DNR according to religion career education and experience of DNR. Of the participants those who have religions and education experience on DNR thought that there would be more DNR requests after DNR is explained to patients and family members (p<.05). In addition, there was higher understanding on the necessity of DNR in those who have more career and DNR experience(p<.01). The findings of the study suggest that a guide book for DNR need to be made with inclusion of legal, ethical, and cultural aspects. Also, there needs to be more education on DNR in medical ethics to health care professional and to provide more information on DNR to the general public.
Hospice, a concept of care for dying patients, focuses on providing comfort measures rather than aggressively searching for a cure. Hospice addresses symptom control from a wholistic view under the direction of an interdisciplinary team. Physical therapy fits with many of the tenets of hospice, such as the interdisciplinary team, inclusion of the patient and family as the care unit, provision of treatment in various in and out patient settings, and attention to the comfort of the patient. Physical therapy educators must recognize the need for medical ethics, psychosocial and medicolegal issues to be incorporated throughout the curriculum.
It is to provide the basic materials for the development of a cadaver practice program, the anatomical, educational programs, etc. by confirming the experiences by the nursing college students of the human body anatomy observations using the Cadaver Model. It was intended to understand the meaning and the essence of the experiences by the nursing college students of the human body anatomy observations using the Cadaver Model by selecting the Colaizzi Analysis Method with the materials collected from the interviews with 2 focus group teams. Regarding the essential structure, 6 categories were arrived at, including 'The ambivalence regarding the cadaver practice', 'Running into the true reality', 'Learning a valuable thing', 'The mind for facing the human beings has become deep', 'The feeling that I am gradually becoming a person who tends the sick', and 'The deliberations regarding the sound giving. It was confirmed that, not only with the understanding of anatomy through the cadaver practices, but, also by experiencing and worrying about the understanding, the life and the respect, the death, the ethics regarding the job, etc. the nursing college students were gradually becoming the persons tending the sick.

This study was conducted to investigate the level of moral sensitivity, critical thinking disposition and perceived ethical confidence, as well as to identify the factors influencing the perceived ethical confidence in nursing students. The study evaluated 170 nursing students in D Province from May 16-20, 2016. Data were analyzed using a t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression. The mean score of the perceived ethical confidence was $3.54({\pm}0.51)$, the moral sensitivity was $4.92({\pm}0.59)$ and the critical thinking disposition was $3.45({\pm}0.39)$. There were positive correlations between the perceived ethical confidence and moral sensitivity (r=0.410, p<0.001) and critical thinking disposition (r=0.523, p<0.001). The significant factors influencing the perceived ethical confidence were moral sensitivity and critical thinking disposition, which explained 33.2% of the variance in perceived ethical confidence. Based on these findings, programs and teaching methods that develop moral sensitivity and critical thinking disposition are necessary for college nursing students to promote perceived ethical confidence.
This study has been conducted to identify the theoretical understanding of cultural competence by systematically reviewing national and international quantitative studies on 'nurses' and 'nursing students' cultural competence dimensions. A literature search was conducted over approximately three months from June to August 2020, targeting academic journals and dissertations published from January 1, 2010, to December 31, 2019. Literature extraction was conducted according to the PRISMA guidelines, and 67 papers from a total of 1,175 were selected for the systematic literature review. As a result, the most commonly measured component was cultural perception, other dimensions included cultural knowledge, cultural skills, cultural sensitivity, cultural encounter, cultural attitude, cultural behavior, cultural longings and cultural receptivity, cultural experience, cultural security, cultural ethics, cultural beliefs, cultural practice, motivation and curiosity, cultural emotions and empathy. Therefore, in order to improve the cultural competency of nurses and nursing students, it is necessary to seek consensus and a multifaceted approach that is essential in each society based on various components.
