Not all parents are skilled in scaffolding their young children's numeracy learning. The present study investigated the effectiveness of a parent training program in promoting Filipino young children's number sense via card game playing at home. Participants were 161 young children and their parents; families were of a relatively low socioeconomic status. During the 10-week intervention period, parents in the experimental group received training on how to use number game cards to help their children acquire various numeracy concepts; parents in the control group received no special instructions. Children in the experimental group showed greater improvements in their performance on six number sense tasks (namely numeral identification, object counting, rote counting, missing number, numerical magnitude comparison, and addition) over the intervention period than did children in the control group. Findings of the present study suggest that providing simple training to parents on strategies for fostering their young children's number sense at home is important for giving children a good early start in basic number knowledge.

본 논문에서 제안하는 분절된 화소들의 특징추출 방법은 이진화 영상에서 수직/수평 화소들의 분절점을 탐색하여 추출하는 특징 탐색기이다. 숫자의 구조적인 면을 고려하여 사소한 부분들도 명확한 특징으로 탐지하여 추출하였고, 이러한 방법은 일반적으로 사용하여지는 특징추출 방법 몇가지를 선택하여 이용하였고, 제안하는 방법과 결합하여 필기체 숫자를 인식하였다. 인식기를 구현하기 위하여 3 개층 구조를 갖는 클러스터 MLP 신경망을 사용하였다. 실험 결과 단순히 일반적인 특징만을 활용하여 얻는 인식률 보다 훨씬 향상됨을 보여주었다.

任意의 形態를 갖는 線形 안테나를 여러 區間으로 나누어 이를 moment 法에 의한 數値解析을 하므로서 旣存 유기 기전력 방법이나 retrarded potential method 보다 실제에 가까운 電流分布를 용이하게 얻을 수 있는 式을 유도하였다. 이 결과를 利用하여 三素子 yagi 안테나에 適用하여 電流分布와 射패턴이 旣存文獻의 理論値와 잘 일치할 수 있음을 보였다.

In order to develop a character recognition system, it is an essential preceding work that gathers an image data of the standard. On this purpose a data of the digitized images of a handwritten characters was collected. The types of a gathered image data are Korean character, Chiness character, Numeral, English character, Special character, and so on. This paper deals with a handwritten character image data base, and the image data base different from the general storage structure of a lame capacity multimedia was designed and builded.

This case report was conducted to introduce the use of miniscalpel-acupuncture for the treatment of hand osteoarthritis. A-76-year old female patient who had pain on both hands due to osteoarthritis was treated with miniscalpel-acupuncture for 7 weeks. The main outcome were the Numeral Rating Scale (NRS) and the grip strength by dynamometer. After miniscalpel-acupuncture treatment, NRS was decreased and the strength of grasp was increased. The result of this study suggests that the treatment of miniscalpel-acupuncture may be effectively used to decrease pain and increase grip strength of patients who suffer from hand osteoarthritis. Further research is necessary by the reason of the limited sample size of this study.

In this paper, weekly maximum power demand forecasting method in consideration of temperature estimation using a time series model was presented. The method removing weekly, seasonal variations on the load and irregularities variation due to unknown factor was presented. The forecasting model that represent the relations between load and temperature which get a numeral expected temperature based on the past 30 years(1961~1990) temperature was constructed. Effect of holiday was removed by using a weekday change ratio, and irregularities variation was removed by using an autoregressive model. The results of load forecasting show the ability of the method in forecasting with good accuracy without suffering from the effect of seasons and holidays. Percentage error load forecasting of all seasons except summer was obtained below 2 percentage. (author). refs., figs., tabs.

본 논문에서는 획의 일부분이 손상된 숫자(broken digit)나 붙은 숫자(touching digits)와 같은 비정형 숫자들이 포함된 필기체 숫자 열을 인식할 수 있는 방법에 대하여 제안하였다. 비정형 숫자들은 분류(pre-segmentation) 단계에서 숫자들의 구조적인 특징 정보를 이용하여 정형인 개별 숫자(isolated digit)로부터 획의 일부분이 손상된 숫자 또는 붙은 숫자들로 분류된다. 획의 일부분이 분리된 숫자의 결합 및 붙은 숫자들의 분할 단계를 거쳐 인식을 시도하였다. 제안된 방법의 타당성을 증명하기 위하여 NIST SDl9 데이터베이스를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 해 보았다.

본 논문에서는 무제약 필기체 숫자 인식에 있어서 향상된 RBF(Radial Basis Function) 신경망을 이용한 새로운 접근 방법을 제시하였다. RBF 신경망은 인식률과 인식 속도를 향상시키기 위해 기저 함수로서 Raised Cosine RBF를 사용하였다. Raised Cosine RBF 신경망 분류기의 성능 평가를 위하여 캐나다 몬트리올 Concordia 대학의 무제약 필기체 숫자 데이터베이스를 사용하였고, 실험 결과 98.05%의 인식률을 보였다.

본 논문에서는 아라비안 숫자의 중의성을 효과적으로 제거하고 숫자 표현의 발음을 정확하게 문자화할 수 있는 임베디드 시스템용 경량화된 아라비안 숫자 읽기 시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 7 가지의 숫자 읽기 방식(Headings of Arabic Numerals RAN)을 분류하였고, 문자화 규칙을 설정하기 위해. (1) 문맥 자질, (2) 패턴 자질, (3) 휴리스틱 정보를 숫자 표현의 의미에 따라 분석하였다. 그리고 숫자의 문자화 시스템을 최적화하여 임베디드 시스템에 탑재하기 위해 (1) 형태소 분석 모듈의 분리, (2) 사전 압축, (3) 인명과 지명의 제거를 하였고, 이를 홍해 심각한 정확도 손실 없이 메모리 사용량과 처리 시간을 크게 줄일 수 있었다. 경량화된 mini-TAN 은 $96.9\~98.3\%$의 정확도를 보이며, 기존 상용 TTS 시스템에 비해서도 숫자 읽기의 처리에 있어 높은 정확도를 보인다.

본 논문에서는 서식 문서의 선과 숫자의 획이 접촉된 경우 숫자의 획을 접촉되기 전 상태의 원 이미지로 복원하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법에는 서기 문서에서 추출한 숫자열을 대상으로 열 단위로 복원한다. 과정은 우선 숫자열과 접촉된 선의 위치를 찾아내고, 선을 추적하면서 접촉으로 판정되는 영역을 유형별로 분류하여, 각 유형에 적합한 획 복원 방법을 제안한다. 또한 선에 숫자의 획이 완전히 포함된 경우의 복원 방법도 제안하여 현장에서의 서식 처리 과정에서 발생하는 문제점을 해결하고자 하였다. 제안하는 방법을 평가하기 위해서 은행 입출금전표, 신용카드 매출전표 및 NIST 필기 숫자열 데이터베이스 이미지를 사용하였다.
