  • The purpose of this research is to find out what factors have an effect on the retailer's performance. Most of the former researches in the similar fields performed their study based on the customers reasons for revisiting or store loyalty. But this research has been done not based on the customer but based on the retailers. It means that the data was collected from individual retailer. Considering the former research and characteristics of the franchisee retailers, size of temporal population around the retailers, visibility of the retailer, competition situation, out-door promotion, street shelf, size of the retailer were selected as factors affecting on the retailers performance. As a performance variable, number of visitors happened to observation period. Data collection was performed through the observation of the retail circumstance and interview with the retailers owner. As meaningful variables affecting on the retailers performance, size of temporal population around the retailers, visibility of the retailer were found in the 5% significance level, and out-door promotion, street shelf, size of the retailer in the 10% significance level, whereas competition situation did not have effect on retailers performance. Finally, we discuss several theoretical and practical implications, and suggest limitations for the research and future research issue.

  • Busan Citizen Park has been taken as the research object in this paper to learn about the categories and types of resting facilities such as seats and Pergolas in the park and analyze the visitors' use patterns of bench and Pergolas. In addition, the analysis of the cultural features and preferences of bench and Pergolas will provide the basic data for the future design of resting facilities. After the research on the categories and types of bench and Pergolas and the evaluation factors through literature surveys, the type, location, and number of resting facilities including bench, Pergolas, sheds, etc. in the entire park have been investigated through field surveys. In addition, the behavioral map analysis has been created through the observation of the use patterns of bench and Pergolas in the morning and afternoon of each month, and the degree of preference and satisfaction of park bench and Pergolas has been grasped through questionnaires. The research results are as follows. Among the ten types of bench and Pergolas, the citizens like the mats and awnings + mats best. The environment is the most important factor for the mats with highest score, followed by the functional and regional factors. In addition, various activities such as eating in mats and sheds that block sunlight are Korean use patterns, which is very common in Korean daily life. These results show that bench and Pergolas in urban parks are not placed arbitrarily and the layout and design of bench and Pergolas should be completed based on behavior and preferences, which are influenced by cultural characteristics.

  • As the economy grows rapidly and the national income level increases, the service industry has become more important and its size gets larger. Especially, the food industry undertakes a continuing growth of consumer expenditures through no nationalization of food, consumers varying patterns of eating out, and individualization. However, it includes many problems with improving service quality towards customers owing to the absence of systems and philosophy to realize customer satisfaction management Therefore, this study conducted a study with Korean traditional restaurant customers to measure their perceived service quality, to verify what factors most influence consumer satisfaction, and to suggest ways to meet the costumer needs by integrating the study results and developing high service quality. To sum up the results of this study, Korean traditional restaurant visitors evaluated three dimensions of service quality overall favorably. Interestingly, background music received a lower level of satisfaction. This implies that the Korean traditional restaurant managers do not do a fine performance in managing music as an ambient element to evoke the atmosphere of the restaurant. Customers showed a lower satisfaction with menu price among the factors measuring product quality. As a result of this study, several suggestions have been made as follows: First, it is necessary for the Korean traditional restaurants to provide systematic employee training to instigate a service culture of customer focus. Secondly, it is important to develop traditional foods using ingredients produced in the region based on a literature review of food in Gyeongju, Silla. Thirdly, it is an urgent task to develop regional menus to revitalize the restaurant business. Fourthly, it is important to provide safety food through systematic sanitary administration. Lastly, it is necessary to limit the number of menu items and attempt specialization of them. Such an attempt with specialized menu items will help their food taste and quality improve and thereby reduce inventory burdens. However, this study has a few limitations. Since this study conducted a survey of the restaurants which provides only Korean traditional food in Gyeongju, not all the restaurants in it, there is a limitation in measuring customer satisfaction with service quality. Therefore, the study results cannot be generalized to all the restaurants in Gyeongju and the nation. Finally, this study suggests that studies on the relationships between customer satisfaction and menu price and customer value system or further customer satisfaction studies with Korean traditional restaurants should be continued.

  • This study investigates the interaction mechanisms and processes between cyber space and real space. In particular, we analyze the relationships between changes on the economic landscape of the Bookchon region and the information supply and demand for this area on the Internet Blogs. In order to obtain the behavioral data about how people get information for Bookchon area and the reaction afterward, we perform questionnaire survey. The results of analysis reveal that there are significant connection between real space and cyber space, Internet Blog in particular. Internet Blog is the major media obtaining information about Bookchon area for major portion of people. Most people visit Bookchon after searching informations about it via Internet Blog. In particular, young generations who possess better capability to treat social media. At the same time, female, student, and office workers show these attitudes very strongly. We introduce a conceptual model for the interaction processes between cyber space and real space based on the survey data analysis, and propose a simple theoretical model for the dynamics of the total number of visitors about specific place with the experience of cyber space visit.

  • Recently, through the development of IT and mobile technology, spatial information plays a role of infrastructure of the people life and the national economy. Many kinds of applications including SNS and social commerce is to leverage the spatial information for their services. In the case of domestic, spatial open platform that can provide national spatial data infrastructure services in a stable manner has been released. And many people have been interested to the open platform services. However, the open platform currently has many difficulties to analyze its service status and load in real time, because it does not hold a real-time monitoring system. Therefore, we propose a method that can analyze the real-time service status of the open platform using the analysis of the web server log information. In particular, we propose the results of the analysis as follows: amount of data transferred, network bandwidth, number of visitors, hit count, contents usage, and connection path. We think the results presented in this study is insufficient to understand the perfect service status of the open platform. However, it is expected to be utilized as the basic data for understanding of the service status and for system expansion of the open platform, every year.

  • This study investigated the errors in presenting paleontology exhibition data in 9 natural history museums for 2 years and two months from 15, Aug. 2013 to 25, March 2015. It was found that seven natural history museums presented 28 difference cases of data in error. The purpose of this study was to investigate why the errors occurred and how to prevent the errors from occurring and finally how to correct the errors earlier. For this purpose, this study review related literatures using conference proceedings, books, conducted a survey via natural history museums. Results suggested five ways to correct errors in the future. First, it is suggested that the authorities of the museum increase the number of curators and have specialists participate in excavation and maintenance, research, preparation of the exhibition data through a collaboration with universities and research institutes. Second, it is also suggested that the authorities establish the classification system to use in the exhibition process and secure a job for their maintenance specialists. Third, the authorities of museum should put an examination process in place as a system by inviting the external experts into the exhibition process and also establish a process of collecting errors identified by any museum visitors. Fourth, the authorities of museum should make an efforts to increase the participating rate of correcting errors through SNS, Docent, and educational programs among the community members and students. Fifth, they also should use mass media to show and present the research-proven figures of paleontological fossils, which hopefully helps resolve issues of the prior unchanging cultural inertia.

  • Major statutory nature protection areas include Nature Parks, Nature Reserves. Nature Ecological System Protected Areas. Biosphere Reserves, Nature Protected Forests, Wildlife Sanctuaries, and Protection Forests with total area of 1,124,000 ha. These protected areas cover almost 18% of the forested area. The number of visitors of NPs reached over 33 million per year with sharp increasing rate over the years. To protect the deteriorated hiking trails and camp grounds caused by overuse, two management policies have been implemented : cooking prohibition and natural rest rotation system. While prohibition of cooking is based on the fact that most of the solid wastes in nature parks are leftovers of cooking, natural rest rotation system is mainly for rehabilitation of deteriorated areas by natural processes. The system has closed 47 trails(in 27 mountains) throughout the country since January 1991, which is scheduled to continue 3 years. Due to the lack of accumulated scientific knowledge on how, when and where to close, application of the system leaves much to be desired. This paper discusses the current efforts to protect the natural resources for recreational use and suggests future directions for an effective policy implementation.

  • Internet GIS sites are currently being emersed as one of important places to acquire spatial information in stead of traditional paper map. This paper is intended to identify critical factors in evaluating internet GIS site quality. While there should be a considerable number and variety of factors associated with internet GIS site quality, this paper focuses on the site characteristics that generate visitor satisfaction. After carefully reviewing the previous literature of general website evaluation, four criteria that are critical to internet GIS site quality were identified: (1) contents (2) design (3) navigation (4) spatial analysis. An empirical study for a case study site has been conducted to confirm the validity for the four evaluation factors. A site diagnosis by the criteria provided many valuable information for Web site quality. For example, it was found that many symbols in the site made the visitors confusing and navigation interface was not very user-friendly to track required positional information due to inconsistency in terms of cartographic concept. The results indicate that the evaluation criteria may be used not only as a tool to evaluate internet GIS sites, but also as a checklist to improve the quality of a web site that is under development and requires remodelling. As a result, the research findings have established the new concept of ‘the quality assurance of the internet GIS site’, proposed as an initial aim of this paper Many of the issues unresolved in this project could be improved, based on the understanding of the four criteria suggested in this paper.

  • As the share of leisure culture increases these days, expectations are rising for the high quality of culture while increasing interest in leisure and tourism. The percentage of the population going on weekend trips to broaden the horizons of elementary, middle and high school students has continued to rise in proportion to the expectations for cultural enjoyment. We expect that visitors' weekend family activities will include relaxing, playing and educational purposes. Recent educational programs have moved from the past where only children were allowed to be onsite, to a shared style in which parents can engage in educational activities, potentially leading to the implicit involvement of family ties and family elasticity. The effects of education are not expressed by the period that ends in a single moment of experience, but by the continuity of training and experience. The same holds true for family affinity, communication and empathy. Providing opportunities for family experience and education is a national responsibility for broken family and restoring solidarity with the growing number of single-person households. Furthermore, it is a duty of museums and galleries today, and it is necessary to come up with methods to enhance family solidarity and family affinity. In particular, it is imperative to develop and provide educational programs for educational purposes at the Education Museum, and to develop " education for family " at the social level. This paper aims to analyze the results of all family participating education programs provided by family education programs at the Education Museum through family surveys and interviews, and to enhance the activation of family types education programs more actively.
