입원 환자의 호칭에 관한 연구 (A Study on Appellations for Admitted Patient)

  • The Purposes of this study were to understand the types of appellations used by nurses and doctors for patients in a hospital and to analyze satisfaction and reason about appellation for patient. This would enable us to provide basic data on culturally suitable appellations for admitted patients. 454 patients at K University hospital in Seoul were subjects for this study. Subjects were interviewed individually using a questionnair and frequency $X^2-test$. Results are as follows. 1. The most frequently used type of appellations in hospitals was '-ssi ; -sir' used by 88.1% of the nurses and 83.9% of the doctors. About 3 quaters of the medical staff used '-ssi' while none used job position. 2. 93.2% of the patients were satisfied with the appellations used by nurses and 93.0% of the patients were satisfied with the appellations used by the doctors 43.7% didn't think appellations were important and 44.3% thought it natural to use the appellation. The most satisfactory form of appellation used by nurses was '-ssi' to 93.3% of patients. All were satisfied with '-nim ; -sir', '-teacher' and there was no statistically significance. On the other hand, the level of satisfaction and the appellation used by doctors showed a relationship($X^2=19.72$, p=.000). Every patient was satisfied with '-nim' and '-teacher' but 19.9% were dissatisfied with the others of appellations. 3. Most patients preferred to be called '-ssi' by nurses(77.3%) and doctors(78.7%) respectively. The dominant reason being accuracy(45.8%), naturalness(33.9%) for nurses and 43.8% and 45.4% respectively for doctors. 4. The relationship between the type of appellations requested of nurses and general characteristics showed that age($X^2=83.91%$ p=.000), level of education($X^2=33.35$ p=.000), and occupation($X^2=38.22$ p=.033) were related to the type of appellation. The type of appellation requested of doctors was related to the age($X^2=72.56$ p=.000), level of education($X^2=30.01$ p=.000), and occupation($X^2$=42.90 p=.010). Generally, '-ssi' was requested of doctors and nurses, but lower age group or higher age group(over 61), those in elementary schools or elementary school graduates snd students preferred being called by their first names or grandfather, grandmother. From the results above, we can see that the most general type of appellation used for patients by the medical staff is '-ssi' and most patients were satisfied with the appellation but, the reason being that such appellations were accepted without concern. This shows that most are not adequately satisfied with the appellation. Only a small number of people use '-nim' and '-teacher' but is the preferred and frequently used types of appellation. Therfore, a continuous research of appellations used for patients with patients using '-nim' and an investigation with nurses' opinions of appellations for patients as the subject are required.

우리나라 일부 초등학생과 중학생의 영양강화식품 섭취 실태 및 영양강화식품을 통한 비타민과 무기질 섭취량 조사 (Survey on the Patterns of Fortified Food Consumption and Intake of Vitamins and Minerals in Fortified Foods by Elementary School and Middle-School Students in Korea)

  • This study was performed to investigate patterns of fortified food (FF) consumption and intake of vitamins and minerals from FFs among 577 Korean children (12.4 years of age) who attended elementary or middle school. FFs eaten by children as a snack were surveyed using the food record method during 3 days, including 2 week days and one weekend. As a result, 114 FF items were eaten by the children, and several kinds of nutrients such as vitamin A, D, E, B complex, C, calcium (Ca), iron (Fe), and zinc (Zn) were fortified in these foods. Ca-FFs (65.8%) were most frequently consumed, followed by vitamin C-FFs (33.4%) and vitamin D-FFs (33.3%). The number of FF items in each food group was the most in the milk group (n=24, 21.0%), followed by the beverage group (n=19, 16.7%), and the cookie/bread/cake group (n=17, 14.9%). Fortified nutrients in FFs were in various combinations, but the major combination patterns were Ca, Ca plus vitamins, Ca plus vitamins plus other minerals, and Ca plus other minerals. Daily mean intakes of vitamins and minerals from the FFs were 66-300% more than those of the recommended nutrient intake (RNI ) or adequate intake (AI) for most vitamins and minerals. Daily maximum intakes (95th percentile) of vitamins and minerals from FFs were 1-15 times the RNI or AI for most vitamins and minerals. Vitamin and mineral consumption ratios from each FF group were different according to the kind of fortified nutrient. For example, vitamin C was mostly eaten in fortified beverages (46-54%), and Fe was mostly eaten in fortified cookie/breads/cakes (87%). The above results show that FF consumption varied widely among the children, and that most of the children's foods were fortified with several vitamins and minerals without a common rule; thus, subjects risked over consuming vitamins and minerals by eating FFs. Therefore, practical guideline on FF use for children's optimal nutrition and health should be provided through nutrition education.

그래프의 교수학적 변환 방식 비교 -우리나라 교과서와 MiC 교과서의 초등 통계 내용을 중심으로- (The Study on Didactic Transposition for Teaching Statistical Graphs - The comparison between the Korean and MiC's textbooks)

  • 본 연구는 우리나라 제7차 초등학교 교육과정과 NCTM(2000)의 "학교수학을 위한 원리와 규준" 에서 제시하고 있는 그래프 지도의 목표를 살펴보고, 우리나라 교과서와 MiC 교과서에서 그래프를 어떻게 교수학적으로 변환하여 다루고 있는지 비교한다. 이를 위해 그래프 단원의 내용 요소로서 그래프의 종류와 정의 방식, 그래프 비교 활동에 대한 교수학적 변환 방식을 비교하여 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 그래프 지도 목표에서 우리나라에 비해 NCTM(2000)에서는 학생 스스로 자료를 표현하는 방법의 개발을 허용하며, 그래픽 표현 방법에 따른 분석 결과를 비교하도록 한다. 또, 그래프를 통해 자료 전체에 주목하여 설명하도록 한다는 차이점을 확인하였다. 두 교과서에서 다루는 그래프의 종류는 우리나라에 비해 MiC 교과서에서 number-line plot과 상자 그림을 더 다루고 있었다. 그래프를 정의하는 방법은 두 나라가 외연적 정의 방법을 주로 사용하고 있으나, 우리나라 교과서는 외연적 방법과 동의적 방법을 혼합하여 사용하고, MiC 교과서는 외연적 정의 방법을 그래프의 특징과 함께 사용하는 경우가 있었다. 그래프간의 비교 활동은 우리나라 교과서가 매우 빈약한 반면에, MiC 교과서는 여러 가지 형태의 비교 활동이 이루어지고 있음을 확인하였다.

손 위생에 대한 식중독 원인균 실태조사 (Prevalence of Food Poisoning Bacteria on Hands in Various Age Groups)

  • 시민 건강을 위협하는 질병 및 식중독 오염의 감염 매개체가 되는 손에 대한 위생실태를 점검하고자 유아원, 초등, 중등, 고등학생 및 일반인 등을 대상으로 오염의 지표인 일반세균 및 대장균군과 식중독 원인균인 세균성이질, 살모넬라, 황색포도상구균, 장병원성대장균, V. parahemolyticus, Y. enterocolitica, B. cereus, C. perfringens, L. monocytogenes, C. jejuni에 대해 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 일반세균과 대장균군 등의 위생세균에서 대장균군은 유치원생 2명, 초등학생 6명, 성인에서 2명이 검출되었으며, 일반세균은 유치원생의 경우 평균 3.3 log CFU/hand, 초등학생은 3.4 log CFU/hand, 중학생은 3.2 log CFU/hand, 고등학생은 3.4 log CFU/hand, 성인은 3.3 log CFU/hand로 나타났다. 2. 식중독 원인균으로 총 62주(12.4%)가 분리되었는데 그 중에서 황색포도상구균 47주(75.8%), B. cereus 8주(12.9%), C. perfringens 7주(11.3%)로 나타났다. 3. 독소 발현 확인시험은 황색포도상구균의 경우 47주 중 25주(53.2%)에서 독소를 확인하였는데 A형이 22주(88.0%), A와 B형 복합주가 2주(8.0%), A와 C형 복합주가 1주(4.0%)로 나타났으며, B. cereus는 8주 중 7주(87.5%)에서 독소 생산주를 확인하였으나, C. perfringens는 7주 모두 독소를 생산하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 4. 항생제감수성 시험에서 분리된 황색포도상구균 47주는 ciprofloxacin, clindamycin, imipenem, rimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, rifampin, vancomycin에 대해서는 100% 감수성을 나타냈으며, cefepime, chloramphenicol, cefotetan, gentamycin은 각각 91.5% 및 oxacillin(89.4%), tetracycline(87.2%)에 대해서도 높은 감수성을 관찰할 수 있었다. 항생제 내성은 ampicillin(91.5%), erythromycin(42.6%) 및 penicillin(95.7%)에서 매우 높게 나타났다. 2개 이상의 항생제 다제내성을 보인 균주는 총 44주였는데, 2제 다제내성 18주(40.9%), 3제 다제내성 15주(34.1%), 4제 다제내성 7주(15.9%), 5제와 6제 다제내성 각각 1주(4.5%)로 나타났다.

수학학습부진아 지도방법에 따른 학업성취도 향상에 대한 메타연구 (Meta analysis on the improvement of academic performance by the teaching method for underachievers of learning mathematics)

  • 시대적 흐름과 정부의 정책 시행 노력에도 불구하고 수학학습에 어려움을 호소하는 학생들이 많이 늘어나고 있다. 이를 반영하여 수학교육에서 수학학습부진아와 관련된 연구가 많이 시행되었다. 하지만 이러한 연구들의 대부분은 수학학습부진아의 원인을 밝혀내거나 교수학적 처치를 시행하고 그 효과를 알아보는 실험연구가 대부분이었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 학위논문 및 학술지 논문 49편을 메타분석하여 수학학습부진에 대한 교수학적 처치가 학업성취도 향상에 얼마나 큰 효과크기를 갖는지 분석하였다. 이러한 분석의 결과 수학학습부진아에게 교수학적 처치는 전반적으로 중간 정도의 효과크기를 갖는다는 것을 알게 되었다. 또한 여러 중재요인을 분석하여 어떠한 환경에서 가장 큰 효과를 거둘 수 있는지에 대한 제안점도 얻을 수 있었다.

학령기 후기 아동의 건강정보 이해능력과 건강증진 행위 (Health Literacy and Health Behavior in Late School-age Children)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to analyze the association between health literacy and health behavior and the effect of health literacy on health behavior in late school-age children. Methods: Data were obtained from 333 participants who were $5^{th}$ and $6^{th}$-grade students sampled from 8 elementary schools in Busan. Rapid Estimate of Adolescent Literacy in Medicine (REALM-Teen) and Newest Vital Sign (NVS) was used for assessing linguistic and functional health literacy, and the health promotion behavior score was measured for health behavior. Results: The percentage of those with limited linguistic and functional health literacy was high (47.1%, 56.8%). Linguistic health literacy (r=.38, p<.001) and functional health literacy (r=.11, p=.048) had a correlation with health behavior. Health behavior was significantly associated with perceived health status (${\beta}=1.94$, p<.001), number of times of health education (${\beta}=0.18$, p<.001), academic achievement (p<.001), home literacy environment (${\beta}=0.13$, p=.016), perception of changes after health education (p=.011), and linguistic health literacy (${\beta}=0.23$, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that children with adequate health literacy are more likely to do health behaviors. Therefore, it is important to develop educational strategies to raise children's health literacy level and consequently to induce them to perform more health behaviors in daily life.

영(0)이 초등학생들의 계산 수행에 미치는 영향 분석 (An Analysis of the Effects of Zero on Children's Arithmetic Performances)

  • 이 연구는 영(0)이 계산오류를 유발한다는 점에 착안하여, 0이 초등학생들의 사칙계산 수행에 어느 정도로 영향을 미치는지 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 A시의 한 초등학교 3,4,5,6학년 아동 222명을 대상으로 지필검사를 실시하였다. 지필검사의 내용은 한 자리 수를 대상으로 한 기초셈, 세로뺄셈, 세로곱셈, 세로나눗셈이었다. 검사 결과, 0이 초등학생들의 계산수행에 미치는 영향이 전 영역에 해당되는 것이 아니라 개별 주제에 해당되는 지엽적인 것으로 나타났다. 예를 들면, 곱셈 구구단에서 0단의 경우, 세로 뺄셈에서 0이 연속 2회 나오는 경우, 세로곱셈에서 0이 수의 중간에 있는 경우, 피제수나 제수에 0이 있는 세로나눗셈에서는 0이 과제 난도를 어느 정도 높이는 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 이들 개별 영역은 고학년에서도 그 비율이 상당하여 인위적인 교수학적 처방이 요구됨을 알 수 있었다.

Eating habits, physical activity, nutrition knowledge, and self-efficacy by obesity status in upper-grade elementary school students

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Childhood obesity has increased in recent decades in Korea. This study was designed to examine differences in the eating habits, physical activity (PA), nutrition knowledge, and self-efficacy of children by obesity status. SUBJECTS/METHODS: Subjects were 5th-grade children from 70 elementary schools in 17 cities nationwide. Two-stage stratified cluster sampling was employed. Survey questionnaire included items related to general characteristics, eating habits, PA, nutrition knowledge and self-efficacy. Excluding incomplete responses, 3,531 data were analyzed using SPSS. Subjects were categorized into overweight obesity (OW) and normal weight (NW) groups based on body mass index percentiles for age by sex. RESULTS: A total of 21.5% of subjects was overweight or obese. There were significant differences in gender, perceived stress, perception of body shape, body satisfaction, and interest in weight control between the OW and NW groups (P < 0.001). With respect to eating habits, the OW group ate breakfast (P < 0.05) and snacks (P < 0.01) less frequently, ate bigger meals (P < 0.001), and demonstrated less desirable behaviors during meals (P < 0.05 in boys) compared to the NW group. The OW group participated in less PA than the NW group, especially boys. OW boys spent less time walking during weekdays (P < 0.05) or the weekend (P < 0.001), spent more time being sedentary during weekdays or the weekend (P < 0.001), and exercised a fewer number of days (P < 0.01). For girls, the OW group spent more time being sedentary during the weekend (P < 0.01) and exercised a fewer number of days by walking or bicycle riding (P < 0.05) than the NW group. Nutrition knowledge was not significantly different between the OW and NW groups. Self-efficacy (P < 0.01 in boys), especially PA self-efficacy (P < 0.01), was significantly lower in the OW than NW group. CONCLUSIONS: This study revealed differences in eating habits, PA, and self-efficacy between OW and NW children. Obesity management programs for children need to focus on increasing self-efficacy, modifying eating habits, and increasing PA.

양호겸직교사의 학교보건간호 업무활동에 관한 조사연구 (A Study of School Health Nursing Activity Performed Teachers Holding Additonal school Health)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide the basic data for the development of school health nursing activities by surveying realities of school health nursing activities in schools lacking in a school nurse performed by teachers holding additional school health. The subjects for the study was selected from teachers holding additional school health who participated in the annual training course for teachers holding additional school health in 1988 organized by Province Education Council. 105 teachers holding additonal school health from Kyung-gi Province, 85 from Chung-buk province, 50 from Chun-buk Province, answered the questionaire. The results can be epitomized as follows. 1. General characteristics of Teachers Holding Additional School Health. The majority of the subjects are female (94.3%) and 64.1% of the subjects are in their twenties, 79.5% of them graduated from four-year teacher's college, 54.5% of them are unmarried, 74.5% has less than one-year experience as a teacher holding additional school health. 2. General characteristics of schools 92.4% of schools are national, of public schools, and 91.9% are located in country, elementary schools are 64%, junior high schools are 35.4%. The annual school nursing budget is unknow to 89.2% of them. The school nursing organization is non- existent to 85.6%. 82.4% of the school nursing clinics occupy their place solely, or jointly. 3. Status of School Health Nursing Activities In the questionaire, School Health Nursing Activities arc divided into Health Program planning and Evaluation (4 items), Clinic Management (4 items), Health Education (4 items), Management of School Environment 98 items), Operating of School Health Organization (1 item) and Health Care Service (25 items). The answers to each item measured by the Likert-type scale reveals that in the activities of techcrs holding additional school health the practice rate in Management of School Environment is 55%, 47% in Health Education, 45% in Health Program Planning and Evaluation, 32% in Health Care Service, 27% in Operating of School Health Organization, and 27% in Clinic Management. 4. The Relation between Influencing variables and School Health Nursing Activities. The results are as follows. (1) Health Program Planning and Evaluation: religion, marital status ($P<0.05^{**}$) (2) Clinic Management: age, school health organization ($P<0.05^{**}$) (3) Health Education: age ($P<0.01^*$), religion ($P<0.05^{**}$), business except for school nursing ($P<0.05^{**}$), form of operation ($P<0.05^{**}$), the number of clinic client a month ($P<0.05^{**}$). (4) Management of School Health Environment: age, marital status, business except for school nursing ($P<0.05^{**}$), presence of the annual school health nursing budget ($P<0.01^*$), school health organization ($P<0.05^{**}$). (5) Operating of School Health Organization: There is a statistical significance in Education, Interest in School Nursing ($P<0.05^{**}$). 5. The Regional Relationship of School Health Nursing Activity. There is a statistically significal difference in Health Education ($P<0.05^{**}$) and Health Care Service ($P<0.01^*$) of elementary school located in Kyung-gi, Chung-buk, Chun-buk Province. There is a statistically significant difference Health Program Planning and Evaluation of junior high Schools located in Kyung-gi, Chung-buk, Province ($P<0.05^{**}$). 6. The Correlation in School Health Nursing Activities. The analysis of the correlation in the 6 fields of school Health Nursng Activities shows that there is a statistically significant difference between Clinic Management and health Education, Clinic Management and Operating of School Health Organization, and between management of School Environment and operating of School Health Organization ($P<0.05^{**}$). The conclusions are as follows The 40.5 percent of schools should arrange nurse teachers by regulation 38, relative to the application of the Law of Education. But, in reality, teachers who have nothing to do with nursing, hold school health as an additional job. And it is very difficult to expect the qualititive health management of school faculty and students. In the 85.6 percent of schools, there is no organization for school health. And also, persons in charge of pracitcal affairs perform the school health activity without any knowledge about annual school health nursing budget. In the school health nursing activity of teacheres holding additional school health, operating of school, health organization and clinic management are the most difficult to get the cooperation from the persons relate to school and communities. There are a lot of problems in performing the school health nursing activity without any disposition of school health teachers, therefore, it is necessary to supplement school health teachers who had a professional training in order to make efficient the school health nursing management for children who are about to attend a school.

온라인 멘토링이 자기주도학습 능력, 정서적 안정감, 학습효과에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Online Mentoring on the Self-directed Learning Skills, Emotional Stability and Learning Effect)

  • 한국교육방송공사에서 초·중학생을 대상으로 학습 멘토링의 교육적 효과를 확인하기 위해, 학습 멘토링의 교육적 효과성 검사에 모두 참여한 425명의 학생을 대상으로 자기주도적 학습능력, 정서적 안정감, 학습효과를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 멘토링 서비스 기간, 방법, 횟수에 따른 교육적 효과는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았고, 멘토링 시간에 따른 자기주도학습 능력에 통계적으로 유의미하게 차이가 있었다. 멘토에 대한 인식이 교육적 효과에 미치는 영향을 분석한 결과, 멘토에 대해 긍정적일수록 그리고 멘토 역할을 긍정적으로 생각할수록 자기주도학습 능력과 정서적 안정감이 높게 나타났다. 학습효과에 대해서는, 멘토링 만족도가 국어, 영어, 수학학습 효과에 모두 가장 큰 영향을 미치고 있었고. 멘토 역할은 국어와 수학에 영향을 미치고 있었다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 온라인 학습시 소외계층 학생들의 학습 격차를 줄이기 위한 더욱 효과적인 방법을 구안하고, EBS 학습 멘토링 사업을 지속적으로 추진할 수 있도록 해야할 것이다.
