Counters for various kinds of bank notes require high-speed distinctive point extraction and recognition for notes. In this paper we propose a new point extraction and data extraction method from specific parts of a bank note representing the same color. The recognition algorithm uses a back-propagation neural network that has coordinate data input. The proposed algorithm is designed to minimize recognition time.

The author investigated pain experiences of 90 cancer patients and the adequacy of pain treatment they have received during their stay at a large medical center in T city between October 1994 and August 1995. Pain was assessed by the Shortened BPQ and results are summarized as follows: As for ratings of “worst pain” during the 24 hour period, 70% of the patients reported they had “severe” pain. As for ratings on “pain now,” 43% of the cancer patients reported “moderate to severe” pain. Over 46% of the patients reported a pain relief score of 0(not at all) or 1(somewhat) even after receiving pain medication. Adequacy of analgesic treatment was evaluated by comparing the patient's reported level of pain and the analgesic use, namely, the pain management index(PMI). The PMI indicated that 58% of the patients were undertreated for the pain control. In review of nurse's notes. systematic pain assessment was scarcely recorded, although pain documentation appeared in 70% of the notes; and the contents were mostly simple description. In conclusion, the results of patient's pain ratings, the PMI and poor pain documentation in the nurse's notes implied poor pain assessment and management.

The effect of pitch on tone durations was studied in several poeces of music. In previous work it was found that higher pitched sounds, of a given duration, were perceived to be of longer duration. That work however, was not undertaken in a musical context. The present work was done to determine whether the previously observed trend was also apparent in musical performances. Several measurements were undertaken. One of these involved analysing the recorded performance duration of notes in several performances of the Mozart Flute Quartet in A-mojor, K.298. Performed durations were also obtained from a Bach Flute Sonata and a Brahms Clarinet Quintet. An analysis of the musical performances revealed that while there were individual differences and exceptions in notes, the musicians tended to play higher notes significantly shortened.

In the field of Public Administration, the issue of Polycentric Incorporation of Localities in Metropolitan Areas (PILMA) has long been a significant object of study. That the issue is politically impractical to deal with is today's well-known assessment of it both for the scholars and practitioners. This theoretical notes constitutes an initial plan for examining an intellectual state of affairs surrounding PILMA. It identifies three theoretical problems inherent in the traditional treatment of the issue: Applicative Scope of Market Type Solution; Negative Externality and Preference Revelation; Determination of Production Scale. Notes were composed based on the proposition that the traditional theoretical formulation has not been so much well constructed as to draw more attention and debate on the PILMA.

This research aims to find processes for developing the design language for the visual notes and design meaning of street furnitures. The result of this study are as follows. 1) The design language implies to get how to represent condensed symbols of the street furnitures. 2) The configuration of the street furnitures has their visual note and design meaning of community identity, represented their own detail design languages. 3) The detail design languages are useful to solve the matters of what design elements of the street furnitures can be composed of the visual notes and design meaning. 4) The detail design languages can be applied to the pattern of tools of Microsoft Office Word.

In this paper, I propose monetary penalties imposed on firms sanctioned by the Financial Supervisory Service for fraudulent financial reporting in accounting and auditing enforcement release(FSS-sanctioned fraud firms) should be disclosed to the notes of financial statement of the firms. Disclosing to the notes of financial statement for FSS-sanctioned fraud firms is an effective way to inform all the related parties of the information which affects the value of the corporation. Even though monetary penalties can affect the value of the firms, however, this study suggests that monetary penalties imposed on the fraud firms have a question on the effectiveness of the sanctions. In addition, this study finds that the magnitude of the market reactions between the fraud firms imposed by monetary penalties and the fraud firms imposed by non-monetary penalties has no difference. Based on these results, the information of FSS-sanctioned fraud firms should be disclosed to the notes of financial statements to have the market react effectively.

Two species of Leycesteria, L. gracilis (Kurz) Airy Shaw and L. formosa Wall. (Caprifoliaceae), from the Lao Cai and Yen Bai Provinces are reported here as a new generic record for the flora of Vietnam. During floristic surveys of northern Vietnam, L. gracilis and L. Formosa were encountered. A critical morphological study of all the collected specimens and the type of materials consulting the relevant literature led us to confirm the identity of our collected specimens as L. gracilis and L. formosa. The genus differs from other Vietnamese genera of Caprifoliaceae by the presence of a spike inflorescence or flowers in sessile whorls of 6. Taxonomic notes, description, and photographs are provided, together with short notes on the distribution, ecology and phenology of the two species.

Recently, an increasing interest in less invasive surgery has led to the advent of laparoendoscopic single-site surgery (LESS) and natural orifice transluminal endoscopic surgery (NOTES). LESS and NOTES could be technically challenging, but available literature has demonstrated the feasibility and safety of LESS for benign gynecologic diseases. However, the evidence is not strong enough to recommend the use of LESS over that of conventional multiport laparoscopic surgery (MLS). As per the results of the most recently published meta-analysis, the majority of surgical outcomes are equivalent between LESS and MLS, except for the longer operative time in LESS for both adnexal surgery and hysterectomy. Although an increasing number of studies have reported on robotic LESS, NOTES, and LESS for gynecologic malignancy, definite conclusions have not been drawn owing to the lack of sufficient information.

The genus Gueldenstaedtia Fisch. is small genus of Fabaceae that includes four species worldwide. Among these, G. monophylla Fisch and G. verna (Georgi) Boriss. are currently recognized as occurring in Mongolia. Here, we present our findings on G. verna from our recent field surveys in eastern Mongolia in 2020. Gueldenstaedtia monophylla is mostly distributed in the western region, whereas G. verna occurs in eastern Mongolia. The regional conservation status of both species was assessed as near threatened based on criterion B in the country. We provided descriptions, grid distribution maps, taxonomic notes and photographic illustrations of the two species based on our newly collected samples.

본 연구는 사례기반 및 코넬식 노트 활용법을 간호학 전공기초 과목인 인체해부학 교육에 적용하여 간호대학생들의 자기주도학습 능력, 비판적 사고 성향과 팀워크에 미치는 효과를 측정하기 위해 시도된 혼합연구방법이다. 인체해부학 교과목 이수자 중 학습부진 학생 34명을 대상으로 수강 전후 설문조사와 사례기반 및 코넬식 노트 활용에 대한 면담을 하였다. 자료분석에 양적연구는 SPSS/WIN 21.0을 이용하여 빈도, paired t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients으로 분석하였고, 질적연구는 내용분석을 시행하였다. 연구결과 학습부진 간호대학생의 자기주도학습 능력(t=-9.69, p<.001), 비판적 사고 성향(t=-7.75, p<.001)과 팀워크(t=-12.43, p<.001)가 유의하게 증가하였다. 또한 자기주도학습 능력, 비판적 사고 성향과 팀워크 간에 유의한 상관관계가 있었다. 결론적으로 사례기반 및 코넬식 노트를 적용한 학습법은 인체해부학 수업에 효과적이며, 추후 타 교과목에서의 사례기반학습 적용과 코넬식 노트 활용에 대한 지속적인 연구가 필요하다.
