Human Gender and Motion Analysis with Ellipsoid and Logistic Regression Method

  • This paper is concerned with the effective and efficient identification of the gender and motion of humans. Tracking this nonverbal behavior is useful for providing clues about the interaction of different types of people and their exact motion. This system can also be useful for security in different places or for monitoring patients in hospital and many more applications. Here we describe a novel method of determining identity using machine learning with Microsoft Kinect. This method minimizes the fitting or overlapping error between an ellipsoid based skeleton.

미용산업 종사원의 비언어적 커뮤니케이션과 재방문의도 관계에 대한 고객신뢰의 매개효과 (The Mediating Effect of Customer Trust on the Relationship between Nonverbal Communication and Revisit Intention of Beauty Industry Employees)

  • This study investigated the effect of non-verbal communication of beauty service employees on customer trust and revisit intention, and verified the mediating effect of trust in the relationship between non-verbal communication and revisit intention. The results of this study are as follows: First, the relationship between non-verbal communication and customer trust of beauty service employees found that non-verbal communication had a significant effect on trust. Second, the relationship between the non-verbal communication of beauty service employees and customer revisit intention found that all non-verbal methods of communication, except body language, had a significant effect on revisit intention. Third, it was found that trust had a significant effect on revisit intention. Fourth, as a result of analyzing the mediating effect of customer trust on the relationship between non-verbal communication of beauty service employees and customer's revisit intention, spatial language, and appearance language showed that customer trust had a full mediating effect on the relationship between revisit intention.

  • 본 연구는 한국아동패널 11차 년도에 조사가 완료된 자료를 활용하여 인지 및 언어발달 분야의 아동 화용언어 체크리스트 도구에 의해 조사된 담화관리, 상황에 따른 조절 및 적용 능력, 의사소통 의도, 비언어적 의사소통의 잠재변수에 대한 관측변수 요인 간의 관계를 분석하여 유의미한 영향력을 찾아내는 것이다. 본 연구의 대상은 한국아동패널 11차 년도(2018년) 자료 2150가구 중 조사 미 참여 722가구를 제외한 1428가구에서 언어발달 질문의 무응답자 36가구를 제외한 1392가구의 초등학교 4학년 학생들 이다. 연구 결과 연구모델의 효과분석에서 의사소통 의도를 제외한 3개의 잠재변수 간의 총 효과와 직접효과, 간접효과에서 모두 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 비언어적 의사소통이 담화 관리 능력에 직접적인 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 비언어적 의사소통과 담화 관리 능력 관계에서 상황에 따른 조절 및 적용 능력을 매개로 한 간접적인 영향이 유의미하게 나타났다. 결과적으로 비언어적 의사소통과 상황에 따른 조절 및 적응 능력이 높을수록 담화 관리 능력도 높아진다는 것을 알게 되었다.

  • Communication has increasingly become important between peoples in the modern society. The change in the composition of a family brought by urbanization and industrialization caused structural changes in the society, and the lack of communication between people have incited various social conflicts rising from individualism and ego-centrism. Thus in this era, domestic environment is one of the most significant environment that enables one to transform into an appropriate member of the social community as well as develop appropriate traits of one. The living room, which served as an arena of communication for family members is now replaced with TV, a popular media, and has lost its original role in the house. The living room furnitures today are designed to facilitate people in viewing TV, not to enhance communication between family members. Thus in this research, I would like to propose a new concept of 'communication furniture' and various examples to suggest appropriate, desired role of living room furniture in households today. In addition, I hope this research contributes to forming a beneficial living room culture and a domestic environment as well as a heart-warming, human society.

광고 속의 얼굴 표정에 따른 비교 연구 -FACS를 활용하여 (A Comparative Analysis on Facial Expression in Advertisements -By Utilising Facial Action Coding System(FACS))

  • 광고 속에서 비언어커뮤니케이션의 종류 중 얼굴 표정의 사용은 시간 제약의 문제를 상쇄시키며 소비자들에게 표현적이고 감동적인 매력의 수단으로 사용된다. 본 연구 목적은 TV 광고들 속에서 어떻게 얼굴 표정이 묘사되고 얼굴 표정을 통한 감정 전달이 이루어지는 지를 탐구하는 것이다. 연구 대상은 소비자들이 가장 감동적인 TV 광고로 뽑은 <박카스 음료>와 <동원 참치> 광고이다. 숨겨진 감정들에 대한 이론적 측면들을 기초로 두고 특정한 얼굴 근육의 움직임을 측정하도록 설계된 심리학과 해부학 기반인 얼굴 동작 코딩 시스템(Facial Action Coding System)을 연구 도구로 사용하여 TV광고 속의 얼굴 표정들이 내포한 의미들을 분석하였다. 분석된 의미의 결과를 통해서 얼굴 클로즈업을 통해 주인공의 감정 상태의 충돌과 극적인 갈등의 해소가 이루어진 광고가 소비자들의 마음을 더 움직인다는 유의미한 결과를 도출하였다.

  • It is the prime importance of the information and the reference-librarians to better understand the communication functions of the library since they are the ones to whom the library users come first with their informational needs. Reference librarians often have the problem of providing information to those who may have little experience with, or interest in the library. There is also a problem of finding out what the person really wants, not what he says he wants. Therefore, the interaction between the librarian and the user involves a highly complex activity of communication with each other even before the actual search begins. Reference librarians cannot perform to any degree of success without comprehension of the general patterns and processes of communication in information seeking. Nonverbal as well as verbal transmittal process on the part of both librarians and patrons should not be overlooked. Some of the difficulties and barriers of library communication are brought so that possible cures and improvement may be sought. The basic purpose of the reference interview through which this interpersonal communication takes place is for the reference specialist to enable to link the needs of the patron with potential resource of the library. The writer firmly believes that this importance of the process be taught as well as the materials in reference service regardless of the level of the course offered in library science department.

청각장애인 간의 비언어적 커뮤니케이션을 위한 인터랙티브 스마트의류 개발연구 (A Study on the Development of Interactive Smart Clothing for Non-Verbal Communication between People with Hearing Impairment)

  • The purpose of this study was to develop interactive smart clothing based on visual and tactile sensitivities to promote non-verbal communication between people with hearing impairments. The study analyzed various cases of interactive smart clothing, different non-verbal communication tools, as well as results of user demand survey to extract essential factors. Then these factors were categorized into technology or design concept. The technological aspect of the development considered the following factors: the usability, detachability, purposiveness, and economic feasibility. The design aspect considered the following factors: the usability, detachability, formativeness and wearability. A prototype was designed considering the user's requirements. The developed prototype had sensors, Bluetooth technology, and gave access to wireless communication in order to enable non-verbal communication between people with hearing impairments.

  • 버드휘스텔(Birdwhistell)은 말이 전하는 의미는 전체커뮤니케이션의 35%이하에 불과하고 나머지 65% 이상은 비언어적 형태로 전달되며 인간은 전적으로 언어에 의해 의사소통을 하는 존재가 아니라 모든 감각을 사용하는 감각적 존재라고 설명하고 있다. 인간의 커뮤니케이션은 언어 외에 표정, 몸 동작 등을 통해 보다 더 구체적인 의미 전달이 가능하며, 특히 얼굴표정은 개인의 성격, 관심, 반응에 대한 정보 및 감정의 상태를 전달해주는 다면적 메시지체계로 강력한 커뮤니케이션 도구라고 할 수 있다. 다양한 표현기법과 표현의 정도, 특성에 따라 달라질 수 있지만 표정이 갖는 상징적 기호는 일반화 된 특성을 가지고 있다. 스토리상의 등장인물로서 내면세계와 심리적 상태가 행동이나 표정으로 자연스럽게 노출되고 읽어낼 수 있는 감정표현에서 애니메이션 캐릭터는 생명력을 갖는다.

  • 2D 게임에 등장하는 캐릭터의 비언어적 커뮤니케이션은 정확한 대사 전달과 캐릭터의 감정을 구체적으로 표현하기 위하여 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 이때 캐릭터에 의해 사용되는 비언어적 커뮤니케이션 행위는 많은 양의 대사와 결합되어 게임에서 표현된다. 본 연구에서는 2D 애니메이션에서 나타난 캐릭터의 비언어적 커뮤니케이션 행위의 유형을 분석하여 분류하였다. 다음으로 2D 게임 캐릭터 동작 제작을 위하여 Bone을 적용하여 캐릭터의 동작의 크기와 움직임을 설계하였다. 끝으로 캐릭터의 움직임을 시각화하였다. 이를 토대로 2D 게임 캐릭터의 감정표현을 위한 비언어적 커뮤니케이션 시스템 구축을 위한 기반을 제안하였다.

  • The center of networking is moving toward mobile from PC based computing environment. The number of smartphone users are increasing rapidly today. One of the most popular smart phone applications is mobile SNS such as Kakao Story, Facebook, Twitter, Mobile Cyworld, etc. Mobile SNS means social network services based on mobile communication technology. This research focused on mobile SNS usage of married women who have not enough time for face-to-face communication with their friends to enhance their friendship. Married women in their 30s and 40s have lots of things to do like housework and caring their children. Mobile SNS would help their communication in aspect such of free of space and time. Through Mobile SNS married women can reinforce their personal relationship and self-esteem. Social Information Processing Theory (SIP) is an interpersonal communication theory developed by Walther(1992). Once established, online personal relationships may demonstrate the same relational dimensions and qualities as face-to-face relationships. The theory explains how people get to know one another online, without nonverbal cues, and how they develop and manage relationships in the computer-mediated environment. The result of empirical analysis indicates that marred women's Mobile SNS activities reinforce their personal relationship and self-esteem.
