  • Recently MR CDC damper has been applied to semi-active suspension control system gradually. Compared to former hydraulic CDC damper, it has rapid time response performance as well as simple internal structure and wide range of damping force. In order to develop control logic algorithm which enables to take maximum advantage of unique characteristics of MR CDC damper, it is inevitable to perform a thorough investigation into its nonlinear performance. In many previous researches, MR fluid model was either simply assumed as Bingham Plastic, or a phenomenological model based on experiment was established instead to predict damping performance of MR CDC damper. These experimental flow model which is not based on flow analysis but intentionally built to fit damping characteristics, may lead to totally different results in case of different configuration or structure of MR CDC damper. In this study, a generalized flow formula from mathematical flow model of MR fluid for annular orifice is derived to analyze and predict damping characteristics when current is excited at piston valve.

2점 계류된 선박에 대한 수평면상 표류운동 해석 (Drift Motion Analysis on Horizontal Plane of a Two-Point Moored Oil Tanker)

  • The anchor is laid on the seabed, and the main engine is working against incident environmental loads in a typhoon. As the main engine is broken Mum in the storm, the anchor chain is cut and the vessel drifts. Although a ship is moored by two-point mooring lines to maintain her position, it has crashed into a rock because of a typhoon, resulting in a possible accidental oil spillage. In this paper, we studied maintenance of a ship's position, which is analyzed based on the slow motion maneuvering equations considering wave, current, and wind. To estimate wave loads, the direct integration method is employed. The current forces are calculated, using MMG (Mathematical Modeling Group). Th two-point mooring forces are quasi-statistically evaluated, using the catenary equation. Th coefficients of wind forces are modeled from Isherwood's empirical data, and the variation of wind speed is estimated by wind spectrum. The nonlinear motions of a two-point moored ship are simulated, considering wave, current, and wind load, in specific domain of time.

  • Debris flow is a composition of solid objects of various sizes, suspension and water, which occurs frequently as the results of landslide following heavy rainfall. This often causes extensive damage in the form of socio-economic losses and casualties as witnessed during the incident around Mt. Umyeon, Seoul in 2011. There have been numerous investigation to mitigate the impacts from debris flow; however, the estimation as preparedness measure has not been successful due to nonlinear and multiphase characteristics of phenomena both in material and process inherent in the debris flow. This study presents a numerical approach to simulate the debris flow using open source code of computational fluid dynamics, OpenFOAM with non-Newtonian viscosity model for three phase material modeling. In order to validate the proposed numerical method, the quantitative evaluations were made by comparisons with experimental results and qualitative analysis for the dispersion characteristics was carried for the case of debris flow in the actual incident from Mt. Umyeon.

신경망과 유한요소법을 이용한 단조품의 초기 소재 형상 결정 (Determination of Initial Billet Size using The Artificial Neural Networks and The Finite Element Method for a Forged Product)

  • In the paper, we have proposed a new method to determine the initial billet for the forged products using a function approximation in the neural network. The architecture of neural network is a three-layer neural network and the back propagation algorithm is employed to train the network. By utilizing the ability of function approximation of a neural network, an optimal billet is determined by applying the nonlinear mathematical relationship between the aspect ratios in the initial billet and the final products. The amount of incomplete filling in the die is measured by the rigid-plastic finite element method. The neural network is trained with the initial billet aspect ratios and those of the unfilled volumes. After learning, the system is able to predict the filling regions which are exactly the same or slightly different to the results of finite element simulation. This new method is applied to find the optimal billet size for the plane strain rib-web product in cold forging. This would reduce the number of finite element simulation for determining the optimal billet size of forging product, further it is usefully adapted to physical modeling for the forging design.

자동차 진동해석을 위한 자동차 현가계의 모델링 (Modeling of Automobile Suspension System for Analyzing Automobile Vibration)

  • As automobile technology advances, a smoother ride with less noise is desired. In order to achieve these purposes, a study on the vibration and noise produced by a moving automobile was carried out and a model for tire vibration characteristics which influence the ride performance was developed. The model was verified through simulations and experiments. The developed model was then applied to a half car model and automobile vibrations were analyzed. The effects of tire design parameters on the automobile vibration energy were investigated. The results from laboratory and field tests confirm the validity of the analytical model. The 17-DOF half-car model was built to analyze automobile vibration. The characteristics of the nonlinear model for a shock absorber were applied to this model. The results from the present 17-DOF half car model incorporating the analytical tire model with tire design parameters, were compared with the 5-DOF half car model where the tire was modeled with linear springs. The results of the 17-DOF model are close to the experimental results. Using the 17-DOF model, the influence of tire design parameter were considered. According to the analysis results, the vibrations at seat/body/wheel were predicted by simulation and experiment.

비선형 모형화를 위한 추계학 및 신경망이론의 통합운영 (Integrational Operation of Stochastics and Neural Networks Theory for Nonlinear Modeling)

  • The goal of this research is to develop and apply the integrational model for the pan evaporation and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration in Republic of Korea. Since the observed data of the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration using lysimeter have not been measured for a long time in Republic of Korea, PM method is used to assume and estimate the observed alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. The integrational model consists of staochastics and neural networks processes respectively. The stochastics process is applied to extend for the short-term monthly pan evaporation and alfalfa reference evapotranspiration. The extended data of the monthly pan evaporation and alfalfa reference evapotranspiration is used to evaluate for the training performance. For the neural networks process, the generalized regression neural networks model(GRNNM) is applied to evaluate for the testing performance using the observed data respectively. From this research, we evaluate the impact of the limited climatical variables on the accuracy of the integrational operation of stochastics and neural networks processes. We should, furthermore, construct the credible data of the pan evaporation and the alfalfa reference evapotranspiration, and suggest the reference data for irrigation and drainage networks system in Republic of Korea.

롤러 베어링의 동역학 해석을 위한 접촉 모델링 기법의 검증 (Validation of Contact Modeling Technique for Dynamic Analysis of Roller Bearing System)

  • In this paper, an analytical model is developed to describe the dynamic characteristics of a roller bearing. In order to obtain accurate dynamic response of roller bearing, each roller is modeled as a rigid body, which has radial and axial movement and rotational constraints. Beam element between outer race segments is used to consider flexibility of outer race. Beam deflection is calculated from beam forces and used for contact between roller and outer race. The efficient contact search kinematics and algorithms in the context of the compliance contact model are implemented to detect the interactions between roller and race for the sake of speedy and robust solutions. The numerical results are validated with another analysis results which are calculated using waviness condition. Increasing rollers, dynamic responses are compared with each other. In order to confirm dynamic behavior and nonlinear characteristic of roller bearing, Poincare map is used.

  • In this paper we propose the Multi-FNN (Fuzzy-Neural Networks) for optimal identification modeling of complex system. The proposed Multi-FNNs is based on a concept of FNNs and exploit linear inference being treated as generic inference mechanisms. In the networks learning, backpropagation(BP) algorithm of neural networks is used to updata the parameters of the network in order to control of nonlinear process with complexity and uncertainty of data, proposed model use a HCM(Hard C-Means)clustering algorithm which carry out the input-output dat a preprocessing function and Genetic Algorithm which carry out optimization of model The HCM clustering method is utilized to determine the structure of Multi-FNNs. The parameters of Multi-FNN model such as apexes of membership function, learning rates, and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. An aggregate performance index with a weighting factor is proposed in order to achieve a sound balance between approximation and generalization abilities of the model. NOx emission process data of gas turbine power plant is simulated in order to confirm the efficiency and feasibility of the proposed approach in this paper.

  • This thesis presents a new analysis method of Vegas network model in single link single source and a new version of Vegas for expanding asymptotically stable region. Actually since original Vegas model is difficult to analysis, we use a modified Vegas network model. Since there is a few tools to analyze nonlinear system with delay, developing other methods is very important and useful. We used state space model in discrete time. Using by Jury's criterion, we could find asymptotically stable region of Vegas network model. And it was a if and only if condition. Moreover, we proposed a new version of Vegas algorithm. To expand asymptotically stable region we modified the original Vegas model. The new analysis method and new Vegas algorithm were justified by ns-2 simulation. And as compare with other result, we could know our method has many advantages.

주기적인 상부 외란이 인가되는 2축 도립 진자의 자세 제어 (The Attitude Control of The Double Inverted Pendulum with Periodic Upper Disturbance)

  • The attitude control of a double inverted pendulum with a periodical disturbance at link top is dealt in this paper. The proposed system is consisted of the double inverted pendulum and a disturbance link. The lower link is hinged on the plate to free for rotation in the vertical plane. The upper link is connected to the lower link through a DC motor. The DC motor is used to control the posture of the pendulum by adjusting the position of the upper link. The periodical disturbance can be generated by the additional link attached at the end of link 2 through another DC motor, which is the modeling of a posture for a biped supporting with one leg. The motor for the joint simulates the knee joint(or hip joint) and the disturbance for the legs moving in air. The algorithm for controlling a proposed inverted pendulum is consisted of a state feedback control and a fuzzy logic controller. The fuzzy controller keeps the center of gravity of the biped within the specified range through the nonlinear feedback compensator. The state feedback control takes over the role to maintain a desired posture regardless the disturbance at the link top. In these case, the change of the angle and COG of an upper link is compensated with on-line. Simulations with a mathematical model are conducted to show the validity of the proposed controller.
