  • This study aims to analyze the physical properties of non-woven fabric sheets, which continue to grow in the cosmetic market. Non-woven fabric sheets were used as specimens, and a total of 17 samples were analyzed. To evaluate the physical properties of the non-woven fabric sheet, the weight, tensile strength, surface properties, free swell absorption, and wet stiffness were tested. Through the results itw was determined that non-woven fabric sheets for mask packs should be manufactured considering fiber arrangement so that the weight is 40 g/m2, and the tensile strength should be maintained near 12 kgf. In addition, it was confirmed that the material selection and process conditions should be adjusted so that the free swell absorption is at least 8 g/g, and the wet stiffness is 200 mg. Therefore, since the non-woven fabrics for the mask sheets can be used in various products depending on fabric composition, this study will be expected to be basic data for the continuous growth of the sheet-type mask packs coming to market.

  • This paper reported the temperature history of concrete placed at deck plate slab under cold climate condition by varying with surface insulating type. No curing sheet and simple insulation curing including non-woven fabric, double layer bubble sheet, the combination of double layer bubble sheet and non-woven fabric dropped temperature below zero within 24 hours, which caused frost damage at early age. On the other hand, the combination of double layer bubble sheet and non-woven fabric and double layer bubble sheet and styrofoam maintained minimum temperature above $4^{\circ}C\;and\;8^{\circ}C$, respectively. Based on core test results compressive strength of concrete with the combination of double layer bubble sheet and non-woven fabric and double layer bubble sheet and styrofoam was higher than those with other curing method due to good insulation effect.

  • Non-woven fabric is a textile product made by spinning thermoplastic polymers without manufacturing processes such as stretching, doubling, twisting, weaving, and knitting to form a sheet-shaped web in which fibers are tangled with each other, and then combining them by mechanical and physical methods. In addition, the non-woven fabric manufacturing process has various raw material choices, high productivity, so it is a textile manufacturing technology that can have various uses and increase added value. This study was conducted to control the shape and physical properties of products by improving the manufacturing method of melt-blown non-woven fabrics using process technology that easily changes the shape of non-woven fabrics and improves mechanical properties. In particular, it is considered that a non-woven fabric with a thin material shape and improved mechanical properties will be easily applied to a continuous secondary battery manufacturing industry such as roll to roll operation.

  • Tropaeolum majus, with a high decorative and food demand for vertical greening systems, has been utilized to revitalize urban agriculture. The effects of number of non-woven fabrics in a non-water environment and the adaptability of T. majus to this system were investigated. Planting ground composition of the container-type wall vertical greening system was made using non-woven fabric in one, two, three, or four layers. The results showed that the soil water content remained the highest when the non-woven fabric comprised 4 sheets. The morphological properties showed more growth with the 4 sheets than with 1, 2, and 3 sheets. In terms of physiological characteristics, chlorophyll content was mostly high in the 4 sheets, while shoot fresh weight value was in the order of 3 > 4 > 2 > 1 sheet, and root fresh weight value was in the order of 4 > 2 > 1 > 3 sheets. The dry weight of the measured values in the shoot was in the order of 4 > 3 > 2 > 1 sheet while no clear difference was found in the root of each treatment. The difference in the flowring characteristics was not different, but in evaluating the characteristics as a whole, the growth in the three layers of non-waven fabric was the best. In addition, the soil moisture contents and the growth characteristics were statistically significant as a positive correlation between the groups. Thus, greater the non-woven fabric, the higher is the adaptability of T. majus to dry stress under soil water-free conditions by maintaining soil moisture content. This showed that it represented an effective alternative as a method of vertical greening system for lower maintenance urban agriculture.

  • Waterproofing is a very important process in terms of durability of buildings. The materials used for waterproofing work to protect the concrete structure from external deterioration factors. In particular, the waterproofing materials applied to the exterior of the concrete structure have various problems due to changes in the external environment and variables in the construction process. The waterproof layer is repeatedly dried and shrunk according to changes in the external moisture environment, and the surface may be deteriorated due to exposure to long-term sunlight. In the case of the roof waterproofing in the structure, the waterproof layer which does not have a sufficient curing period shows much swelling and floating phenomenon. These defects, such as swelling and lifting, account for most of the defects that occur in the waterproof layer of the concrete slabs. Generally, it is difficult to expect the same level of performance as the initial state even if the waterproofing work is repaired when a defect occurs. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the defects of the waterproof layer such as swelling and lifting by forming a waterproof layer which can be integrated with the concrete surface by using a polyurethane type waterproofing material having a relatively low defective ratio compared to other waterproofing materials. So in this study, the basic properties of polyurethane waterproof sheet reinforced with non-woven fabric are investigated in order to understand field applicability.

  • This paper aims at surveying through case studies the planting possibility on the interval artificial ground between the bank and the core landfill of the first section of works in the SUDOKWON Landfill area landfill area which was completed, followed by the layer-on-layer landfill process involving the latch or sealing layer against emitting landfill gas from the reclaimed waste. The survey results are as follows; 1. The layers of the artificial planting ground on the landfill were established on the basis of top-on-top procedure for a waste layer, a topping soil layer (T=50cm), a gas blocking layer (broken stones T=30cm), a filter layer (non-woven fabric 700g), a sheet protecting soil layer (T=20cm), and a blocking layer (HDPE SHEET 2.0mm), an irrigation layer (SAND T=30cm), a filter layer (non-woven fabric 700g), a sheet protecting soil layer (T=20cm), and a blocking layer (HDPE SHEET 2.0mm), an irrigation layer (SAND T=30cm), a filter layer (non-woven fabric 700g), a planting layer (T=90cm+), a top mound (T=2m). 2. Since no direct damage on the planting layer affected by the landfill gas was detected, planting is found to be still possible and successful except the severely unequal subsidence portion. 3. The mortality rate is discovered different on different trees: Pinus thunbergii (H3.0$\times$W1.0m) 11.25%, Pinus thunbergii (H2.5$\times$W0.8m) 4.73%, Koelreuteira paniculata 8.67%, Hibiscus syriacus 5.68%, Deutzia parviflora 6.50%, Forsythia koreana 8.17%, Rho. yedoense v. poukhanese 32.22%, and Spiraea pru v. symplicifolia 18.89%; although the last two of which are generally considered to have a strong generic growing character, they are subject to be weakened when exposed to the contaminated microclimate of the site like landfill gas. 4. The damage rates, on Pinus thunbergii, Koelreuteria paniculata, Hibiscus syracus, Forsythia koreana, Deutzia parviflora, Rho. yedoense v. poukhanense were shown to decrease to 7.31-17.69% in the second check (June 2000) lower than 5.77-46.92% in the first examination (June 1999), whereas the damage on Spiraea pru v. symplicifolia relatively increased. It is believed that preparatory method of the air pollution, change of temperature, odor by emitting landfill gas, and minute dust from vehicles should be made, and a research on this matter will be conducted in the near future.

  • From January 2013 to October 2015, weed invasion control techniques was tested in the test road of Jungbunaeryuk expressway so as to collect preliminary data for the management methods of the upper exterior banking of expressway shoulders. Then, monitoring was conducted and its results are as follows. Mat (sheet), solidifying agent, and mulching (wood chips) were applied for the test and their initial effects of preventing weed invasion were all excellent. It was found that the homogeneity of the wood chip mulching method needs to improve. In the mat method and the mulching method were found to have the most excellent economic feasibility and aesthetics, respectively. The covering degree was found to be the highest at 80% in the control site, followed by the wood chip site at 20% and the solidifying agent site and the non-woven fabric site at 5% each. As for species diversity, the control had the largest variety of species. Two years after the construction, many different species of plants invaded and were growing. Plants including weed didn't tend to invade the slopes applied with non-woven fabric. In addition, weed didn't invade the solidifying agent site and the aesthetics of the upper exterior banking of expressway shoulders was found to be excellent. The wood chip site was found to require consistent management for preventing weed invasion. The mat (sheet) site, the solidifying agent site, and the wood chip mulching site were found to have excellent weed prevention effects. As time passed, the mat (sheet) site and the solidifying agent site showed better weed prevention effects. However, they need consistent monitoring for further application.
