The purpose of this study was to analyze the formation and change of road-block-lot of the old inner city in cheongju The result of this study are as follows; (I)Among others a system roads of in around the old castle in cheongju city is most of feature north and south direction of road. Lot system is organic relations of north and south direction of road. Therefore, urban tissue in around the old castle in cheongju city is established order road system keep on the change of expansion urban tissue. (2) Block type classified into non-division, 2division and over 3division. (3) The square block remains mostly in Cheongju old castle, two-division block was around south of castle. And block of the grid-form street system divided into over 3 division. Through the guideline about characteristic of block type, residential area should be developed as a characteristics area in the urban area.

This paper presents a study on the system identification of the in-situ output shaft torque measurement system using a non-contacting magneto-elastic torque transducer installed in a vehicle drivline. The frequency response (transfer) function (FRF) analysis is conducted to interpret the dynamic interaction between the output shaft torque and road side excitation due to the road roughness. In order to identify the frequency response function of vehicle driveline system, two power spectral density (PSD) functions of two random signals: the road roughness profile synthesized from the road roughness index equation and the stationary noise torque extracted from the original torque signal, are first estimated. System identification results show that the output torque signal can be affected by the dynamic characteristics of vehicle driveline systems, as well as the road roughness.

This paper is concerned with a six sigma application to non-manufacturing process. Based on the comparison to manufacturing process, non-manufacturing process has some specific characteristics. The main focus of this study is to introduce an empirical case study on the implementation of DMAIC procedures for non-manufacturing process. We use a simple and practical road map which consists of 13 steps. Some fundamental rules for DMAIC implementation in six sigma projects are also introduced.
In this study, we suggested 4 plans to reduce non-point pollutant sources in Dongcheon and analyzed their controlling effects by water quality modeling, XP-SWMM. To do this we identified the influx of non-point pollutant sources to the initial rainwater through the water quality survey in the river and analyzed the causes of them at major locations, and suggested 4 kinds of plans reducing non-point pollutant sources. Plans reducing the non-point pollutant sources through cleaning the industrial road around the river(plan A), through a separate treatment facilities like the gutter(plan B), through installing treatement facilities(plan C), or through combing plan B and C(plan D) were analyzed using XP-SWMM model. The analysis showed that plan A, B, C and D reduced non-point pollutant sources average 21.7 %, 24.7 %, 49.3 %, 56.7 % respectively. Therefore, the water quality pollution in Dongcheon due to the influx of non-point pollutant sources is considered to be reduced effectively though cleaning the road, installed at the exits of paddy or factory basins, invasion type facilities or equipment-type facilities.

This paper presents a novel algorithm to detect more accurate road lane with image sensor-based color classification and directional edge clustering. With treatment of road region and lane as a recognizable color object, the classification of color cues is processed by an iterative optimization of statistical parameters to each color object. These clustered color objects are taken into considerations as initial kernel information for color object detection and recognition. In order to improve the limitation of object classification using the color cues, the directional edge cures within the estimated region of interest in the lane boundary (ROI-LB) are clustered and combined. The results of color classification and directional edge clustering are optimally integrated to obtain the best detection of road lane. The characteristic of the proposed system is to obtain robust result to all real road environments because of using non-parametric approach based only on information of color and edge clustering without a particular mathematical road and lane model. The experimental results to the various real road environments and imaging conditions are presented to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
In this paper, a graph data model is introduced to effectively recognize the situation between each object on the road detected by vehicles or road infrastructure sensors. The proposed method builds a graph database by modeling each object on the road as a node of the graph and the relationship between objects as an edge of the graph, and updates object properties and edge properties in real time. In this case, the relationship between objects represented as edges is set when there is a possibility of approach between objects in consideration of the position, direction, and speed of each object. Finally, we propose a spatial indexing technique for graph nodes and edges to update the road object graph database represented through the proposed graph modeling method continuously in real time. To show the superiority of the proposed indexing technique, we compare the proposed indexing based database update method to the non-indexing update method through simulation. The results of the simulation show the proposed method outperforms more than 10 times to the non-indexing method.

In this paper, we studied dc leakage current properties analysis of LED lamps of road and landscape lighting when leakage current appeared in dc power line. Generally, converter of LED lighting is divides to insulated type and non-insulated type according to components. When electric leakage happened in AC power line, earth leakage breaker(ELB) senses leakage current and interrupts electric circuit. In dc power source, We need experimental verification about dc electric leakage for electricity safety. In normal wiring conditions and in the water, in case of using insulated type of converter, dc leakage current did not occur. However, in case of using non-insulated type of converter, dc leakage current occurred and passed through into the ground. We found that there is a hazard of electric shock by dc leakage current. We expect that the results of these studies would be helpful for electrical safety of LED lamps for road and landscape lighting.

There are various research challenges in vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) that need to be focused until an extensive deployment of it becomes conceivable. Design and development of a scalable routing algorithm for VANETs is one of the critical issue due to frequent path disruptions caused by the vehicle's mobility. This study aims to provide a novel road-aware routing protocol for vehicular networks named as Two-level hierarchical Hybrid Road-Aware (THERA) routing for vehicular ad hoc networks. The proposed protocol is designed explicitly for inter-vehicle communication. In THERA, roads are distributed into non-overlapping road segments to reduce the routing overhead. Unlike other protocols, discovery process does not flood the network with packet broadcasts. Instead, THERA uses the concept of Gateway Vehicles (GV) for the discovery process. In addition, a route between source and destination is flexible to changing topology, as THERA only requires road segment ID and destination ID for the communication. Furthermore, Road-Aware routing reduces the traffic congestion, bypasses the single point of failure, and facilitates the network management. Finally yet importantly, this paper also proposes a probabilistical model to estimate a path duration for each road segment using the highway mobility model. The flexibility of the proposed protocol is evaluated by performing extensive simulations in NS3. We have used SUMO simulator to generate real time vehicular traffic on the roads of Gangnam, South Korea. Comparative analysis of the results confirm that routing overhead for maintaining the network topology is smaller than few previously proposed routing algorithms.
In this paper, a method of the decision of the road direction for ALV(Autonomous Land Vehicle) road following by region-based segmentation is presented. The decision of the road direction requires extracting road regions from images in real-time to guide the navigation of ALV on the roadway. Two thresholds to discriminate between road and non-road region in the image are easily decided, using knowledge of problem region and polygonal approximation that searches multiple peaks and valleys in histogram of a road image. The most likely road region of the binary image is selected from original image by these steps. The location of a vanishing point to indicate the direction of the road can be obtained applying it to X-Y profile of the binary road region again. It can successfully steer a ALV along a road reliably, even in the presence of fluctuation of illumination condition, bad road surface condition such as hidden boundaries, shadows, road patches, dirt and water stains, and unusual road condition. Pyramid structure also saves time in processing road images and a real-time image processing for achieving navigation of ALV is implemented. The efficacy of this approach is demonstrated using several real-world road images.
This paper is concerned with a local detection of road on an airborne SAR image. The roads can be characterized by their geometry and radiometry. Roads are assumed as linear, thin, and elongated objects that are darker than their surroundings on an airborne SAR image. With these assumptions, a series of morphological filters are applied and tested successively. This approach is simple and almost non parametric and has been successfully applied to an airborne SAR image.
