  • This study is on the purpose that the influence caused by noise and shaking through construction works shall be ranged to the fishing species of fishing area of the surface of sea. This study have been performed through analysis of physical effect by the value of noise and shaking test. The resulted purpose of this study has been carried out regarding whether influence factor of the fishing species and others are related or not as per the noise and shaking. For the purpose of the survey of noise and shaking, observances have been performed regarding the direct water surface of fishing area are as well as undersea. As for this result, the influence area for the injury at the fishing area caused by the noise and shaking have been stretched out to the distance of 10km from the source of sound. In this conclusion, this study is regarded as the reference basis of the compensation of injury for the species of fish and others in fishing area.

  • This paper describes the kinematics, dynamics and control of a 6-DOF shaking table with a bell crank structure, which converts the direction of reciprocating movements. In this shaking table, the bell crank mechanism is used to reduce the amount of space needed to install the shaking table and create horizontal displacement of the platform. In kinematics, joint design is performed using $Gr{\ddot{u}}bler's$ formula. The inverse kinematics of the shaking table is discussed. The derivation of the Jacobian matrix is presented to evaluate singularity conditions. Considering the maximum stroke of the hydraulic actuator, collision between links and singularity, workspace is computed. In dynamics, computations are based on the Newton-Euler formulation. To derive parallel algorithms, each of the contact forces is decomposed into one acting in the direction of the leg and the other acting in the plane orthogonal to the direction of the leg. Applying the Newton-Euler approach, the solution of inverse dynamics is almost completely parallel. Only one of the steps-the application of the Newton-Euler equations to the platform-must be performed on one single processor. Finally, the efficient control scheme is proposed for the tracking control of the motion platform.

  • In this paper, the research results for the improvement of tracking performance of a hydraulic shaking table are presented. A servo-hydraulic shaking table is not only highly nonlinear but also has a lot of time delay. In addition, the shaking table, which consists of multi axial hydraulic actuators, is a MIMO system coupled by kinematics and dynamics of each other's actuators. And it is demanded for the shaking table to track arbitrary trajectories up to high frequency even at the extreme situations such as substantial external loads and large disturbances. For this purpose, an iterative feed-forward control based on the inverse of a measured frequency response function is used for the shaking table. To solve the dynamic coupling, a pressure feedback control as numerical damping is used. It is shown through numerical simulations that the tracking performance of shaking table is improved up to 100Hz.

  • In this study, real-time hybrid test using a shaking table for the control performance evaluation of a U-shaped TLCD controlling the response of earthquake-excited building structure is experimentally implemented. In the test, the building structure is used as a numerical part, on which a U-shaped TLCD adopted as an experimental part was installed to reduceits response. At first, the force that is acting between a TLCD and building structure is measured from the load cell attached on shaking table and is fed-back to the computer to control the motion of shaking table. Then, the shaking table is so driven that the error between the interface acceleration computed from the numerical building structure with the excitations of earthquake and the fed-back interface force and that measured from the shaking table. The control efficiency of the TLCD used in this paper is experimentally confirmed by implementing this process of shaking table experiment on real-time.

  • The effect of noise on the input motion for the seismic test of structures using shaking table was studied. Table motions usually contain high frequency contents which influence the PGA of input motions. It was shown that the noise influenced PGA much with minor changes in high frequency contents. The Butterworth bandpass filter can be effectively used. The adequacy of the table motion should be judged based on both the frequency contents and the PGA.

  • This parer describes the tracking control simulation of 6-DOF shaking table with a bell crank structure, which converts the direction of reciprocating movements. For the Joint coordinate-based control which uses lengths of each actuator, the trajectory conversion process inverse kinematics is performed. Applying the Newton-Euler approach, the dynamic equation of the shaking table is derived. To cope with nonlinear problems, time-delay control(TDC) is considered, which has been noted for its exceptional robustness to parameter uncertainties and disturbance, in addition to steady-state accuracy and computational efficiency. If the nominal model is equal to the real system, joint coordinate-based control can be very efficient. However, manufacturing tolerances installation errors and link offsets contaminate the nominal values of the kinematic parameters used in the kinematic model of the shaking table. To compensate differences between the nominal model and the real system. the joint coordinate-based control using acceleration feedback in the Cartesian coordinate space is proposed.

  • A new type bi-directional damper using a tuned liquid column damper(TLCD) and a tuned sloshing damper(TSD) is introduced in this study. Two dampers are usually needed to reduce wind-induced responses of tall buildings since they are along and across wind ones. The proposed damper has the advantage of controlling both responses with one damper. One of objectives of this study is to derive analytical dynamics to investigate coupled effects due to TLCD and TSD. Another objective is to address the effect of coupled control force due to TLCD and TSD on the dynamic characteristic of the damper based on analytical dynamics. Shaking table test is undertaken to experimentally grasp dynamic characteristics of the damper under white noise excitation. Its dynamic characteristic is expressed by the transfer function from the shaking table acceleration to the control force generated from the damper. Finally, its design parameters are identified based on the coupled dynamics, which include the mass ratio of horizontal liquid column to total liquid for a TLCD, the participation factor of the fundamental liquid sloshing for a TSD and damping ratio for both cases.

  • Servohydraulic shaking tables are being increasingly used in the field of earthquake engineering. They play a critical role in the advancement of the research state and remain one of the valuable tools for seismic testing. Recently, the National Earthquake Engineering Research Center, CGS, has acquired a 6.1m x 6.1 m shaking table system which has a six degree-of-freedom testing capability. The maximum specimen mass that can be tested on the shaking table is 60 t. This facility is designed specially for testing a complete civil engineering structures, substructures and structural elements up to collapse or ultimate limit states. It can also be used for qualification testing of industrial equipments. The current paper presents the main findings of the experimental shake-down characterization testing of the CGS shaking table. The test program carried out in this study included random white noise and harmonic tests. These tests were performed along each of the six degrees of freedom, three translations and three rotations. This investigation provides fundamental parameters that are required and essential while elaborating a realistic model of the CGS shaking table. Also presented in this paper, is the numerical model of the shaking table that was established and validated.
