  • A pedestrian navigation system, an information delivery server, and a program for naturally guiding (such as speech-guiding) the user of a portable terminal at an intersection. An information delivery server comprises a map database containing data such as nodes including paths constituting intersections, links, and costs of the links. The node-link structure is the most important part in pedestrian navigation system. Functional requirements for the road map database vary in different navigation phases. though there are various road network models, their traditional node-link structures, unfortunately, do not solve the problem well. This paper proposes a node-link structure for pedestrian navigation system. The network topological structure in pedestrianl network is presented, which accords with the practical walking habit better than traditional way treating the entire road network.

  • Dynamic route guidance (DRG) finds the fastest path from a source to a destination location considering the real-time congestion information. In Korea, the traffic state information is available by the public transportation data (PTD) which is indexed on top of the node-link map (NLM). While the NLM is the authoritative low-detailed road network for major roads only, the OpenStreetMap road network (ORN) supports not only a high-detailed road network but also a few open-source routing engines, such as OSRM and Valhalla. In this paper, we propose a DRG framework based on road network matching between the NLM and ORN. This framework regularly retrieves the NLM-indexed PTD to construct a historical speed profile which is then mapped to ORN. Next, we extend the Valhalla routing engine to support dynamic routing based on the historical speed profile. The numerical results at the Yeoui-do island with collected 11-month PTD show that our DRG framework reduces the travel time up to 15.24 % and improves the estimation accuracy of travel time more than 5 times.

  • This study developed the algorithm of location-based service for supplying the efficient tourism service to traveller using mobile device and applied it to the Jeonju HANOK village. First, the location service was advanced using algorithm coupling with GPS error range and travel speed in single line, and with GPS location and nearest neighbor method to line in multiple one. Also this study developed a program using DuraMap-Xr spatial engine for establishing topology to Node and Link in line automatically. And the foundation was prepared for improving travel convenience by programming location-based service technology to single and multiple lines based on Blackpoint-Xr mobile application engine.

  • This paper presents an efficient hybrid technique to compact the trie indexing the huge forward table small enough to be stored into cache for speeding up IP lookup. It combines two techniques, an encoding scheme called bit-map and a controlled-prefix expanding scheme to replace slow memory search with few fast-memory accesses and computations. For compaction, the bit-map represents each index and child pointer with one bit respectively. For example, when one node denotes n bits, the bit-map gives a high compression rate by consumes $2^{n-1}$ bits for $2^n$ index and child link pointers branched out of the node. The controlled-prefix expanding scheme determines the number of address bits represented by all root node of each trie's level. At this time, controlled-prefix scheme use a dynamic programming technique to get a smallest trie memory size with given number of trie's level. This paper proposes standard that can choose suitable trie structure depending on memory size of system and the required IP lookup speed presenting optimal memory size and the lookup speed according to trie level number.

  • We have analyzed the reliability of failure models in circuit-switched networks. These models are grid topology circuit-switched networks, and each node transmits a packet to a destination node using a Flooding routing method. We have assumed that the failure of each link and node is independent. We have considered two method to analyze reliability in these models : The Karnaugh Map method and joint probability method. In this two method, we have analyzed the reliability in a small grid topology circuit switched network by a joint probability method, and comared analytic results with simulated ones. For a large grid enormous. So, we have evaluated the reliability of the network by computer simulation techniques. As results, we have found that the analytic results are very close to simulated ones in a small grid topology circuit switched network. And, we have found that network reliability decreases exponentially, according to increment of link or node failure, and network reliability is almost linearly decreased according to increment of the number of links, by which call has passed. Finally, we have found an interesting result that nodes in a center of the network are superior to the other nodes from the reliability point of view.

  • Recent growth of the geospatial information on the web made it possible to applicate spatial data. Also, the demand for rich and latest information shows a steady growth. The need for the new service using conflation of the existing spatial databases is on the increase. The information delivery of the services using the road vector and aerial image is reached intuitionally and accurately. However, the spatial inconsistencies in map services such as Daum map, Naver map and Google map is the problem. Our approach is processed to extract the road candidate image, match the template and filter the control points pair using vector median. Finally, CNS node and link are aligned to the real road with the aerial image. The experimental results show that our approach can align a set of CNS node and link with aerial imagery for daejon, such that the completeness and correctness of the aligned road have improved about 35% compare with the original roads.

  • We design level 1 traffic thematic map for common data structure. Level 1 means the road that can passing cars. If public office and private company use this form, they can save amount of money from overlapping update. And widely use of traffic analysis, navigation and traffic information system. For design common data structure we compared several data structure(traffic thematic map, ITS standard node/link, Car navigation map), and generalization these characteristic data. After generalization we considered about application parts. It can use of public part(traffic analysis, road management, accident management) and private part(car navigation, map product, marketing by variable analysis) etc.

  • When one link failure happens in BSHR/2 networks, it is possible to restore all traffics by following the ITU-T G.841 rules. However, when a node that is currently executing a ring switch receives a long-path ring bridge request for an higher priority, it shall drop its bridge and switch immediately, then enter full pass-through. Even through link connection between two nodes exists, it is impossible to restore the service. In this paper, when multi-link failures happen, the services through connected link can be restored by exchanging messages through DCC(Data Communication Channel). Partially reconstructing the ring map that is unable to restore services because of multi-link failures made it possible to restore these kinds of traffic pattenrs. This paper shows that the services through connected link can be restored by using proposed method.

  • An Ad hoc network, differently from wired networks, is a self organized network of mobile nodes in wireless environments. In this kind of routing and operation environments. link breaks occur frequently. Knowing positions of nodes may prevent or recover this type of phenomenon. Typically, GPS is used to detect position of nodes but high cost and complexity of construction limit applications. In this paper, we propose and design a method of construction nodes' position map using only information of all nodes without GPS. The proposed method complements and overcomes previous system with software solutions. Hence, construction and operation are simple, and can decrease cost of construction expenses.

  • As autonomous driving technology advances, the accuracy of the vehicle position is important for recognizing the environments around driving. Map-matching localization techniques based on high definition (HD) maps have been studied to improve localization accuracy. Because conventional map-matching techniques estimate the vehicle position based on an HD map reference dataset representing the center of the lane, the estimated position does not reflect the deviation of the lateral distance within the lane. Therefore, this paper proposes a localization system based on the reference lateral position dataset extracted using image processing and HD maps. Image processing extracts the driving lane number using inverse perspective mapping, multi-lane detection, and yellow central lane detection. The lane departure method estimates the lateral distance within the lane. To collect the lateral position reference dataset, this approach involves two processes: (i) the link and lane node is extracted based on the lane number obtained from image processing and position from GNSS/INS, and (ii) the lateral position is matched with the extracted link and lane node. Finally, the vehicle position is estimated by matching the GNSS/INS local trajectory and the reference lateral position dataset. The performance of the proposed method was evaluated by experiments carried out on a highway environment. It was confirmed that the proposed method improves accuracy by about 1.0m compared to GNSS / INS, and improves accuracy by about 0.04m~0.21m (7~30%) for each section when compared with the existing lane-level map matching method.
