  • This paper analyzes the parallelism between the art trend and the fashion. As a representative case, we consider the Modernism and the Flapper look. The Modernism rejected the tradition of the past and pursued something new. This trend was in parallel with the fashion called flapper look which was against the tradition and made drastic change. The factors which represent the spirit of the age the Modernism are the simplicity, the rejection of the tradition, the individualism and the subjectivity, the functionalism, the fragmentation of the self, and the straight line. We discuss the fashion style of the flapper look in terms of these factors.

  • Modern society is indefinable and constantly changes like nature changes. It uses design to create new experiments and trend within social environment and culture. In the history of interior architecture and postmodernism, the Italian design movement of Archizoom, Studio Alchimia and Memphis are very important, and Andrea Branzi was the central figure of this design movement. His experimental and defiant works throughout this design movement produced design with combination, indefiniteness, sustentation, and reiteration. Designers must recreate themselves continually and need to have constant experimental spirit and attempts. From this point of view, the study on Andrea Branzi who led Italian design revolution with various experiments and attempts is valuable, and it will help to find the direction of design in this modern social and cultural environment.

  • The purpose of the research was influential in the fashionable dacolleta of women's costume in the mid-l5th century. The results were as follow: A variation of social environment and an aesthetic sense brought on desires to express human nature. Especially, the importance for costume of the appearance of a new spirit, confirmed and developed on the contemporary. The first symptoms of humanism were leaning towards secular art, an ideal of man at once more independent and avid for action, and an interesting applied to the individual and particularity. In addition, love affairs between the ladies and knights led to increasing interest in the beauty of weakness and tenderness in the women's body Sorel Agnas who was a lover of Charles VII, France king, had a great influence on the fashion of decollette in women's costume. It was just a dacolletta to express an ideal of beauty to neckline in women's dress in contemporary.

  • This paper presents a new algorithm for the closed-loop $H_{\infty}$ control of a class of singularly perturbed nonlinear systems with an exogenous disturbance, using the successive Galerkin approximation (SGA). The singularly perturbed nonlinear system is decomposed into two subsystems of a slow-time scale and a fast-time scale in the spirit of the general theory of singular perturbation. Two $H_{\infty}$ control laws are obtained to each subsystem by using the SGA method. The composite control law that consists of two $H_{\infty}$ control laws of each subsystem is designed. One of the purposes of this paper is to design the closed-loop $H_{\infty}$ composite control law for the singularly perturbed nonlinear systems via the SGA method. The other is to reduce the computational complexity when the SGA method is applied to the high order systems.

  • The TFT-LCD industry has shown dramatic growth by making technological advances and satisfying consumer needs. It now stands at the heart of the display industry. However, the TFT-LCD market is maturing and is unlikely to sustain the fast pace of growth in years to come. There has been an oversupply in the LCD sector entering 2008 due to capacity expansion aimed at fueling growth coupled with softening demand amid the global economic slowdown and recent financial turmoil. The LCD industry has successfully coped with oversupply on several occasions. Each time, LCD makers faced up to the challenge and responded with a pioneering spirit. They continued to grow by turning crisis into opportunity. LG Display aims to create new markets by developing products based on innovative technology and providing more attractive products through a value-added product planning that incorporates consumer needs. Through a continuous cost innovation targeted at stimulating demand by making products more economical to consumers, we will be at the forefront of overcoming the current oversupply and sustaining robust growth for the TFT-LCD industry. Depending on our management of the situation, the current oversupply could prove to be an opportunity to create even bigger markets for the future.

  • Geomancy accepts with a pre-requisite that human beings adapt themselves to nature as an organism, because people and environment, bodies and space have the homogeneity which can not be divided by a dichotomy. The homogeneity as a structure alive implies a deep relationship with biorhythm and the change of space, and is regarded as a concept and role significant on the coordination. In other words, applying the element in the geomancy could be interpreted as a work giving a new meaning and spirit on a creation of space and furniture coordination. Harmony and balance shown in design concepts have a relationship with the meaning on Yin-Yang and the Five Elements theory. In addition, the characteristic in each element is suggested as an example applying the concept of geomancy through furniture coordination for each space in the chapter 4.

  • The concept of "set" in school mathematics has undergone many changes according to the revision of curriculum and the transition of the paradigm in mathematics education. In the discipline-centered curriculum, a set was a representative concept which reflected the spirit of New Math. After the Back to Basics period, the significance of a set concept in school mathematics has been diminished. First, this paper elaborated several controversial aspects of the terms related to set, such as a collection and a set, a subset, and an empty set. In addition, the changes of the significance imposed to a set concept in school mathematics were investigated. Finally, this paper provided two alternative approaches to introduce and explain a set concept which emphasized both mathematical rigor and learner's psychology.

  • The purpose of this study is to present new design for religious habits which represen traditional Korean characters as well as prope charisms of religious congregations. The preliminary research was carried out through questionnaires. The result of this survey suggests the way how to improve the design of habits as follows: 1. The habit has to be simple according to the spirit of vowed poverty. 2. It is necessary to take into consideration the reality of Korean culture and the climate with four seasons 3. The habit is to be of help to give witness to evangelical life and safeguard the dignity of the religious state. 4. It has to be appropriate to the environment and circumstance of apostolic mission. 5. It has be funtional and conducive to apostolic activities and labors. 6. The design has to be such as will not alienate ordinary people. 7. It should express the charism of each religiou congregation as well as Korean identity. Consquently four types of inculturated habit design were newly developed and actual dresses or suit have been manufactured as a apart of this study.

  • The future society will demand that enables one to solve in many fields by connecting various informations in many fields and then creating his own information. In the coming society, creativeness will be regarded much important. This ability can be developed with materials through group activities experimental class in math classes. This classes using these materials are not teacher-oriented, explanatory classes but student-oriented ones. They offer students opportunities to think by themselves and expand their potential abilities. They are suitable for rising and keeping student's interests. Therefore experimental classes through group activities enable students to think mathematically and make them recognize the importance of mathematical approach by letting them work connecting other subjects or things in real life. They can develop not only expressive, communicative ability and cooperative spirit, but also the ability to transcend the class itself and then reorganize facts in new insights. Besides, math classes with experiments can arouse student's curiosity familiarizing them with mathematics. Moreover, they can expand student's originative and problem-solving abilities.

  • The study is in depth an analysis of the consciousness structured in unisex, androgyny, punk and postmodernism fashion in order to explain the dominant bisexual trend in fashion since the 1960's. Bisexuality in fashion can be interpreted as an effort in recovering the attitude within commentarialism, as opposed to the dichotomous split of the sexes. It is a reflection of the fundamental desire to be as one and implies "freedom" as an expression of feminism and postmodernism furthermore. Bisexuality is a reactionary movement in fashion which encompasses adaptive ways to the world we now inhabit. It is also a clear picture of the necessity of destroying the dichotomous sexuality in order to achieve the freedom and the importance of realizing as a whole the oneness of human kind. Bisexuality in fashion primarily is the pursuit of a new perspective on the human entity required in the modern world. Namely a communitarian spirit devoid of sexual prejudices. And secondly, it is a phenomenon reflecting the transitional woes of the pluralistic society experiencing deconstructivism and reconstructivism.ructivism.
