새로운 미의식의 창조를 위해 이질적이고 대립적인 요소를 융합 혼합하는 절충주의는 다양성, 다원화에 기초하므로서 개성화, 다양화를 추구하는 현대인의 요구에 부합되어 각광 받고 있다. 본 연구는 현대직물디자인에 표현된 절충주의 양식을 파악하기 위하여 현대예술분야를 통해 그 특성을 규명하고 이를 직물디자인에 적용시켜 새로운 경향이 제시한 미적 효과와 조형적 특성을 고찰하므로서 현대직물디자인의 변화양상을 이해하고자 하였다. 연구결과 현대 직물디자인에 나타난 경향은 다음의 3개로 구별되는데, 1) 문화적 절충에 의한 고급문화와 저급문화의 복합, 2) 시대적 절충에 의한 다양한 시대적 감각의 융합, 3) 지역적 절충에 의한 지역적 특성의 혼합으로 나타나며, 이러한 경향으로 본 직물디자인의 특징은 1) 직물디자인에 대한 시각의 전환을 가져왔고, 2) 유희적 표현을 중시하였으며 3) 다문화적 표현이 강조되고 있다. 이와 같이 직물디자인의 절충주의적 경향은 다변화되고 있는 현대 사회를 대변해주고 미래 직물디자인을 위한 하나의 가능성을 제시하여 주므로서 이에 대한 연구는 지속적으로 필요하다.

The purpose of this research is to analyze the relationship between the inspirations and designs of Dries Van Noten's Men's collections from 1992 S/S to 2014 F/W. The specific questions of this research are as follows: what are the important design features of the Dries Van Noten's Mixed collections from 1985 S/S to 1991 F/W? What are 'the roots of inspiration' of Dries Van Noten's Men's collections from 1992 S/S to 2014 F/W, and what are the aesthetic criterions of Noten's works? How can the roots of inspiration be categorized and what are its features? How did these roots of inspiration influence the Noten's designs? The paper is a reference of how ideas turn to practical works, and what the relationship between inspiration and design. Researchers utilized a qualitative research method providing a systematic review of the previous studies by analyzing the content. To conclude, roots of inspiration of Dries Van Noten's Men's collections can be classified into nine categories: 'Interpretation', 'Ethnic', 'Multiple Contents', 'Subculture', 'Region', 'Artist', 'Fashion Item', 'Sports', and 'New Trend'. Through the roots of inspiration, sensibility of Belgium, England, Italy, French chic, inquiry of ethnic, artist, sports, the neuter gender image, 1950's, 1960's & 1970's trend & style of street fashion, elegance for men, romanticism, zoot, rock 'n' roll, teddy boy, mods, punk, new romantic and 19th century's Anglo-Saxon style are extracted and applied to the designs through cross impact. The identity of Dries Van Noten's Men's collections are cross culture contents and harmony of the old generation and new generation.

Among various gyroscopes, the vibrating gyroscope has advantages such as compact size, mass-productivity and low cost. However this kind of gyroscope usually suffer from low linearity and low signal to noise ratio. Therefore, it is necessary to study on vibrating gyroscope to improve performance. In this paper, triangular cross section si selected in consideration for several points. The existing designs of exciting and sensing have some problems such that small signal size and low linearity. This paper proposes new design of exciting and sensing which is named one period exciting and the other period sensing. This design improves signal size, but it cannot improve linearity. This is because above two designs are the same open-loop type. So, another new design is proposed, which is named rebalancing, is applied to one period exciting and the other period sensing. This design are closed-loop type. It feedbacks the output signal. According to control theory, it can improve linearity. The circuits of each design are realized and used to calibration test. Calibration results show that new design of rebalancing improves linearity and signal size.

The new SOLAS regulation permits the alternative design approach for the approval of designs which deviate from those where prescriptive rules apply. The new approach is being promoted by recent advances of noble designs such as those employing large public spaces in passenger ships. From the respect of fire safety, it is needed to show that the level of safety of new design is equivalent to what can be achieved from the prescriptive rules where the fire simulation is regarded to be the essential tool. This paper provides an overview of the process of performance-based design of the smoke extraction system in a cafeteria of a ROPAX. FDS, a CFD fire simulation software is used to show that the field-model software can improve the fire safety over what are expected from prescriptive rule sets or zone-model application.

Sequential sampling approaches of a metamodel that sampling points are updated sequentially become a significant consideration in metamodeling technique. Sequential sampling design is more effective than classical space filling design of all-at-once sampling because sequential sampling design is to add new sampling points by means of distance between sampling points or precdiction error obtained from metamodel. However, though the extremum points can strongly reflect the behaviors of responses, the existing sequential sampling designs are inefficient to approximate extremum points of original model. In this research, new sequential sampling approach using the sensitivity of Kriging model is proposed, so that new approach reflects the behaviors of response sequentially. Various sequential sampling designs are reviewed and the performances of the proposed approach are compared with those of existing sequential sampling approaches by using mean squared error. The accuracy of the proposed approach is investigated against optimization results of test problems so that superiority of the sensitivity approach is verified.

This paper evaluates a new clinical trial designs for low infection rate disease. This type of sparse disease reaction makes the traditional two sample t-test or Wilcoxon rank-sum test inefficient compared to a new test suggested. The new test, which is based solely on the larger changes, is shown to be more effective than existing method by simulation for small samples. However, this test can be shown to be connected to the locally most powerful rank test under certain practical conditions. This design is motivated in testing the treatment effects in periodontal disease research.

Revision and establish of KS(Korean Standards) is currently actively discussed. It is just the time for a new world class standards under the new system with WTO(World Trade Organization). This paper is a part of "Researchs on the Standards in Railway rolling stock Field", as one of KS establish projects. The aim of this study is to define the requirements of railway rolling stock-designs, manufacture, and test methods for automatic complex coupler. In the former KS, there is no items matched with this purpose. Therefore a new part of KS is proposed.

In this paper we proposed a new electrode design to get an enhanced luminous efficiency in AC PDP. The width and shape of the TTO electrode were varied, and the electro-optical properties such as luminance, power consumption, luminous efficiency were estimated with the variation of frequency, duty ratio and applied voltage. The discharge characteristics were investigated to explain the effect of the new electrode structure on the electro-optical properties.

This study is considered about the Taekwondo(跆拳道) uniform classified by period and analyzed the current Taekwondo uniform. And founded on this contents, new designs of uniform, that a functional side are considered and can symb이ize the identity of Taekwondo, are presented through this study. Ancient times to the present time, the Taekwondo uniform classified into three types according to 'Period of putting on our nation's costume'(three kingdoms${\sim}$Joseon(朝鮮) times), 'Period of confusion on uniform'(Japan's colonial rule of Korea${\sim}$-the early 1970s), 'Period of the settlement on official uniform'(the late 1970s-the present time). And besides, the shape of our nation's costume in ancient times is succeeded until Joseon times and this basic style becomes the outset on the current Taekwondo uniform. The designed uniforms are connoted the notion of the aesthetic appreciation in Korean traditional costume, that is, a symbolic, dignified, moderate appreciation with the consideration of a functional side for Taekwondo. And the contents on the presented designs are classified into 'shape, pattern, color'. First, these designs that are adapted the shape of Baji(바지) Jeogori(저고리)-belt, which have symbolized our nation's costume, and the shape of Bacja(배자) had used in Joseon times, are connoted a 'traditional appreciation with functional side'. Second, these designs, which are adapted the patterns of the active image(a bugbear, flying horse, tiger for embroidered patches, Taegeuk(太極)) in a modern style, express a 'symbolic, dignified appreciation'. Third, these designs are well-matched a black and white color with multicolored stripes(saekddong, 색동), and its ones are connoted a 'moderate and symbolic appreciation'.

The 21st century is the age of culture and sensitivity. As the interest in the art and culture grows, Artygen who prefers artistic designs grow in number. The desire to enjoy life from the increase of leisure time and financial afford ability created a new trend of party culture. This study analyzes the characteristics of Artygen who pursues artistic sense and sensitivity and suggests party-wear designs that please Artygen and accentuate individuality and personal preferences in a party, which is a type of popular entertainment these days. Through literature review, the background of Artygen and party was examined; First, in order to analyze the feature of art designs, photos of products that were in fashion from 2007 to 2009, (during which the term, 'Artygen', was coined) were collected. Second, in order to analyze the party-wear designs, photos of party-wear in wine party and club party popular among young people in the 20~30's were collected. Through the analysis, the party-wears targeting Artygen was developed based on the characteristics of popular art designs. The results of this study were as follows. First, from the result of analyzing the art design shown in product, casual, romantic, modern, dynamic and gorgeous images were. Second, art design shown in fashion, casual, romantic, chic, dynamic and gorgeous images were. Third, in wine party, romantic, elegant, gorgeous and formal images were in order and in club party, casual, gorgeous, chic and romantic images were in order. Fourth, the study displayed design by connecting aesthetic factor of artistic design to 2 wine party-wear of romantic and gorgeous images and 3 club party dresses of casual, gorgeous and chic images.
