네트워크 패킷 처리를 위한 효율적인 비트 스트림 명령어 세트 (An Efficient Bit Stream Instruction-set for Network Packet Processing Applications)

  • 본 논문은 네트워크 프로세서의 패킷 처리 능력 향상을 위한 새로운 명령어 세트를 제한한다. 제안하는 명령어는 패킷 헤더의 결합 연산을 가속화 할 수 있으므로 보다 효율적인 패킷 처리를 수행할 수 있다. 또한 overlay 명령어 처리를 위한 전용 하드웨어 구조를 설계하여 추가 하드웨어로 인한 비용을 최소화 하였다. 이를 위해 LISA 언어를 이용하여 네트워크 프로세서 기본 아키텍처를 설계하고 overlay 블록을 배럴 시프터를 기반으로 최적화 하였다. 이를 합성하여 면적 및 동작 지연시간을 비교하였으며, 컴파일러의 CKF(Compiler Known Function)를 이용하여 C레벨의 매크로 함수에 할당하고 어플리케이션 프로그램에 대한 실행 사이클 및 실행 시간을 비교하여 성능 향상을 확인하였다. Coware사의 processor designer, compiler designer를 이용하여 실험하였으며 Synopsys의 TSMC $0.25{\mu}m$로 합성한 결과 20.7%의 동작 지연시간 감소를 보였고, 전체 실행 사이클에선 제안하는 명령어 세트에 의해 30.8%의 성능 향상을 보였다.

  • 어느 시대나 사회의 세계관이란, 우주의 질서와 원리를 표명하는 당대의 시대 정신응ㄹ 그대로 반영하는 것이라 생각한다. 또한 디자이너의 가치관은 디자인 행위 및 그 결과로 함축되어 나타난다. 최근 디자인 학 연구에 있어 종래의 환원 적, 유클리트 적 디자인의 한계를 인식하고 그에 대응하는 새로운 사고와 방법을 모색하고 있으며, 새로운 패러다임을 지향해야 함이 강조되고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구는 새로운 과학 이론으로서의 카오스, 프랙탈 이론을 연구를 위한 준거의 틀로 삼고 있다. 연구결과 창조적 디자이너의 사고와 환경디자인 과정은 혼돈 속에 내재된 질서와 많은 개연성 중에서 가능성을 선택하는 일련의 혼돈 스런 개방시스템으로 설명되었다. 또한 과학, 예술의 상보적 관계 속에서 프랙탈 기하학은 자연인식과 디자인 사고에 새로운 개념과 언어를 제공하고 있으며, 환경디자인 방법에 무한한 조형적 가능성을 제시하고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 결국 본 연구는 변화된 세계관과 패러다임을 지향하는 사고방식을 강조하였으며, 환경디자인에 있어 창조적 폭을 넓히는 데 기여하고자 하였다.

공간디자인 프로세스에서 관리자·실무자 그룹의 웹스토밍 시스템 활용성 비교평가 (Comparative Assessment of Usability of Web-storming System between Administrator and Designer Groups in Space Design Process)

  • 본 논문은 공간디자이너의 직무특성에 따라 on-line 기반 아이디어 발상 시스템인 웹스토밍의 활용성이 달라질 것으로 보고 실무 디자이너그룹을 대상으로 요소상관표를 이용한 웹스토밍 활용성 테스트를 실시하여 선행연구인 디자인관리자그룹 활용성 평가결과와 비교분석함으로 공간디자인 프로세스 상에서 직무특성에 따른 웹스토밍 활용방안을 종합하여 제안하고자 하였다. 설문 결과를 관찰-해석-적용의 절차에 따라 분석한 결과 공간디자인 프로세스 요소와 웹스토밍 기능요소 간 요소상관표 분석결과 관리자그룹과 실무자 그룹 양쪽에서 가장 높은 상관성을 나타낸 공간디자인 프로세스는 '계획설계' 단계로 확인되었고 분업화 시점으로 상관성이 저조해지는 것도 동일하게 나타났다. 실무자그룹이 관리자그룹과 확연한 차이를 나타낸 프로세스 부분은 '평가' 단계로 실무자 그룹의 경우 두 번째로 높은 상관성을 나타내었다. 프로젝트 운영과 관련된 부분도 실무자 그룹의 상관성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 이에 각 단계에서 웹스토밍에 새롭게 적용할 수 있는 개선안을 도출하고 종합하여 웹스토밍 활용방안을 제시하였다.

샤넬 컬렉션에 나타난 인터미디어와 패션쇼의 관계적 특성 (Relationship characteristics of intermedia and fashion show in the Chanel collection)

  • The aim of this paper is to examine relationship characteristics and the relevance there of in the context of the Chanel collection, between the contemporary fashion show viewed from the artistic side and intermedia on interaction. This study analyzed the relationship characteristics between intermedia and fashion shows by focusing on Chanel fashion shows from 2010 S/S to 2016 F/W as actual case. The results are as follow: First, participational accessibility indicates the experience of a designer and audience in active participation changing into passive participation. Second, audience immersion is represented by the perception of being involved by the audience in the place and acting. Third, conceptual symbolism is sending of messages through the designer's concept manifesting in the specific features of the design. Finally, expandability of media explains trans-boundaries in experimental attempts. It concludes that fashion show is a space where the audience can have visual as well as new knowledge and experience through multi-sensory channels. The Chanel collection which is considered a huge art project at the fashion show, showed a relationship between philosophy and the direction through season concepts and brands. The Chanel collection has brought a new experience through the convergence of communications and cultural media, such as music and art according to traditional brand image.

디자이너 장 폴 고티에의 페티시즘에 관한 페러다임 (Paradigm on Designer Jean Paul Gaultier's Fetishism)

  • Fetishism, which has been a taboo for a long time, is stimulating the modem people's emotions by being reborn as a fashion trend by a number of designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood and Claud Montana. Especially, Jean Paul Gaultier, called the bad boy of the fashion industry, is leading the Paris fashion world by expressing his unique fetish elements with his fantastic and uncommon ideas-males' wearing of skirts, wearing underwear like outer garments. Therefore, this study is aimed at investigating how his fetishism is shown in his works, understanding his fetish fashion world in the modem fashion and offering a new stepping-stone for fashion designers to actively participate in new fashion areas. Its results are as follows. First, it was found that the sensual designer Jean Paul Gaultier has been expressing his unique fetish elements in his collections like the following three styles of fetishism-fetishism by physical emphases, fetishism by items, fetishism by material. Second, the symbols of voluptuous beauty reflecting his own fetishism could be found in his movie costumes, license areas and given plots. Third, the work describing Jean Paul Gaultier's fetishism as a fetish image with the concept of Fantasy of Missing was evaluated as a successful work to express an internal sexual desire.

Vanity Furniture as A New Type of Furniture in Modern Era - Focused on Patented Art Deco Vanity Furniture in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum -

  • The study of Lurelle Van Arsdale Guild (1898-1986)'s vanity table and stool in the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum is essential to understand how the stylistic change was made on industrial design in the 1930s caused by economic necessity. The vanity furniture expresses in such relatively inexpensive image transformations that would attract new customers in the Depression. The objects are donated from a collector and became one of CHM's collections in 1997. In curatorial file, other than the designer's and manufacturer's names there is nothing specified for these objects. Therefore, this study is aimed for researching the exact date for these valuable objects for understanding American Art Deco furniture in the 1930s. Moreover, studying social aspect of these objects gives clear vision for the background. Especially, the History of American Standard (Rodengen, 1999) gives great over view to the history of the manufacturer, C. F. Church Company. The record in Fortune of 1934 suggests the designer, Lurelle Guild's position among other industrial designers at that time. And Profoundly, the objects were assigned design patents. Therefore, the vanity furniture set in the CHM was a significant symbol of early modernism rising from functional areas after the Depression.

미국 신진 디자이너의 작품 특성에 관한 연구 - 중국계 디자이너를 중심으로 - (Characteristics of New Premier American Fashion Designers' work - Focused on Descendants of Chinese Immigrants -)

  • Philp Lim, Alexander Wang and Jason Wu are the American fashion designers as descendants of Chinese immigrants. They had the honor of being given the Swarovski Awards- new premier fashion designer- from CFDA(Council of Fashion Designers of America). The purpose of this study were to investigate the characteristics of their collection, and offered the informations for Korean designers entering the American market. This research categorized characteristics of these designers'- whole characteristics and the characteristics of details such as formal characteristics, optimistic characteristics, tactile characteristics-, and fashion styles from the S/S season of 2009 to the F/W season of 2010 were analyzed. These young and male designers being received attention as a star, didn't make creative art pieces. But they made pragmatic, commercial, and con-temporary works in whole characteristics and succeeded in their fashion business like other American designers. On the other hand they oriented high fashion clearly in terms of the detail characteristics - their own accent color, tiny change in variety, unique material, delicate ornaments. Therefore Lim created chic and stylish, Wang made a sporty street style, Wu made a luxury style with mannish and casual through work characteristics suitable for their costumer.

컴퓨터를 이용한 패션정보 활용과 디자인기획에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Utilization of Fashion Design Information and the Creation of New Design through Computer)

  • The purpose of this study was to serve as a basis for the creation of new design. For attaining the purpose, an investigation was made into the actual condition or problems of domestic and foreign fashion design, and fashion design information was acquired from the Internet. Then, taking the acquired information as the basic data for merchandising, an attempt was made to work out an outline by using the Corel-Trace program, a widely-used computer software, and to modify it by using the Corel-Draw program. The findings of this study were as below: 1) The informations provided by domestic home-pages were largely made up of fashion news and articles on the trend of fashion, but included few of picture report. Almost all of them weren't developed into a database by item or detail. The foreign fashion design web-site were numerous in number, providing diverse information. They offered not only moving images or picture report on fashion show, leading models, photo gallery or fashion trend, but up-dated data everyday. 2) A way to create a design to meet a designer's target is recommended in this study. At first, the fashion information acquired through computer network would be handled by the Corel-Trace program. After Bitmap image would be converted into Vector image, that would be modified by the Corel-Draw program to create a design to suit a designer's target.

Development of Knowledge Code Converter for Design Knowledge Management

  • This is a report on a new methodology to manage design knowledge by utilizing a knowledge-based CAD and a prototype system named $C^3$ (Cubic; CAD knowledge Code Capacitor), which is being developed using our methodology. $C^3$ facilitates (i) the automatic generation of a knowledge code for a knowledge-based CAD by processing design documents written in the format near the natural language, such as English or Japanese, and (ii) automatically generation of a design document written in the format near the natural language from the knowledge code. The features of the system facilitate document-based design knowledge management which reduces the designer's load to encode and maintain design knowledge, because it is easier for a designer to treat a natural language description than a coded description.

공원설계에서 기념성의 문제 -서울대 4.19 기념공원과 서초조각공원의 예- (Some issues on monumentality in park design -two case of 4.19 memorial park of SNU and Soecho sculpture park-)

  • The judgement of how good a memorial park is designed in terms of representing symbolic meanings through moonument depends on whether it decisively reflects peoples' common value and affection to specific event or place of the park. It is in fact, not easy to define the kind of value and affections peoples have in mind for the park. It is likely that most park design concepts are primarily based on designer' subjective view of the world by which the public is expected to understand, accept, and eventually share the common symbolic meanings of the park. AS memorial park design as the works of art might be appreciated not only in view of artistic performance of designer but in terms of its social meaning of the newly defined space. Two cases of park designs by author include issues on conceptual alternatives, experience of memorial space, symbolic use of materials, and perspectives on the direction of contemporary park design. It is noteworthy that authentic approaches should be challenged for a new way in which symbolic meanings could be given in rather contradictory style.
