A new spray chrysanthemum(Dendranthema grandiflorum) cultivar, "Golden Eye" was developed from a cross between "Rosa" and "Angaesoguk" by selection of seedlings and lines at the Flower Research Institute, Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services(ARES) from 2004 to 2008. Its characteristics were investigated three times from 2006 to 2008 under condition of forcing culture in spring and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of "Golden Eye" was October 23th, and year-round production was possible by day length treatment. This cultivar was yellow in color, single in flower type for the spray type cut flower. Its capitulum was 2.4cm in diameter, and had 23.2 head per stem in autumn. Its ray floret was green central zone. The days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 49 days in spring season, and "Golden Eye" showed the vase life of 25.7 days in autumn. This cultivar was registered for a commercialization in 2008.

A new spray chrysanthemum(Dendranthema grandiflorum Ramat.) cultivar 'Yes Line' was originated from a cross between 'T22319' and 'SP02-037-13'. This cultivar was tested on the characteristics from 2004 to 2007 for the evaluation and selection including shading and retarding culture. The natural flowering time of 'Yes Line' is late October, but year-round production is possible by shading, lighting and retarding culture. This cultivar was single in flower type, with a color of red-purple(RHS 74C), with the flowers of 21.4 per stem. 'Yes Line' showed the vase life of 16.5 days in autumn season. The diameters of flower and flower center were 4.3 cm, 1.2 cm respectively. The days to flower under the short day treatment was 7.5 weeks and preference of consumers were high at 3.86 ranged up to 5.00. It has resistance to white rust and was possible to cultivate all-year-round.

This cultivar was tested on the characteristics from 2005 to 2007 for the evaluation and selection including shading and retarding culture. The natural flowering time of 'Yes Arang' is late October. This cultivar was yellow in color, single in flower type for the spray type cut-flower. The diameters of flower and flower center were 4.3 cm and 1.2 cm, respectively. Year round production was possible by shading or lighting treatment. Its number of flowers was 15.1 per plant. In natural and forcing cultivation, the days to flowering was 7 weeks after short day treatment. It has resistance to white rust and the vase life was about 17.2 days in autumn season.

A new spray chrysanthemum(Dendranthema grandiflorum) cultivar, 'Biz' was developed from a cross between 'S03-117' and 'Angaesoguk' by selection of seedlings and lines at the Flower Research Institute, Gyeongnam Agricultural Research and Extension Services(ARES) from 2003 to 2008. Its characteristics were investigated three times from 2006 to 2008 under condition of forcing culture in spring and retarding culture in autumn. The natural flowering time of 'Biz' was October 26th, and year-round production was possible by day length treatment. This cultivar was white in color, single in flower type for the spray type cut flower. Its capitulum was 3.0 cm in diameter, and had 15.6 head per stem in autumn. Its ray floret was green central zone. The days to flowering under the short day treatment is about 42 days in spring season, and 'Biz' showed the vase life of 24.1 days in autumn. This cultivar was registered for a commercialization in 2008.

A new spray chrysanthemum(Dendranthema grandiflorum Ramat.) cultivar 'Yes Uri' was originated from a cross between 'SP03-033-02' and 'SP03-005-04'. This cultivar was tested on the characteristics from 2005 to 2007 for the evaluation and selection including shading and retarding culture. The natural flowering time of 'Yes Uri' is the late October, but year-round production is possible by shading, lighting and retarding culture. This cultivar was pompon in flower type with a color of bright yellow(RHS 7A), 13.8 flowers per plant and 91.5 cm of plant hight. The diameter of flower was 4.4 cm and the preference was high at 4.14 ranged up to 5.00. The days to flowering under the short day was 8 weeks and plant was very vigorous. It had resistance to white rust and showed 23.6 days of vase life in autumn season.

A new gerbera cultivar 'Whiteny' was released by the National Institute of Horticultural & Herbal Science in 2009. A cross was made between 'Wonder King' with white semi-double and 'Ever Green' with pale greenish white and semi-double in 2007. After evaluation of the characteristics for four years (from 2007 to 2010), it was selected specially for the use of cut flower. The 'Whiteny' cultivar has pure white color (RHS W155D) with black disc center and semi-double flower. The average flower diameter is 11.5 cm, large-sized flower. And inner ray floret and disc diameter are 7.8 cm and 2.2 cm, respectively. It has a long peduncle height, 52.2 cm, and longer vase life, 12.1 days. And it is also adaptable to the local cultural environment of Korea. It is expected that if the 'Whiteny' cultivar is planted, the royalty paid to foreign varieties can be saved. And the local growers will also be benefitted since the cost of cultivars will be lower than the imported ones.

'Dayu', a perilla (Perilla frutescens (L.) Britton) cultivar for edible seed was developed by Department of Functional Crop, NICS, RDA in 2004. It was developed from a cross between a pedigree of Daeyeop as a female and YCPL1846 as a male parent in 1994. 'Dayu' could be characterized by white flower color and brown grain color. Dayu shows 127 cm in plant height, and has lodging tolerance. Maturing date of 'Dayu' was October 6, which was similar with that of 'Saeyeopsil'. This new cultivar has high oil content with 48.5% and high linolenic acid in the fatty acid composition. The grain yield potential of 'Dayu' is about 1.44 MT/ha in the regional yield trial.

A new rose cultivar, 'Green Beauty' was selected from the progenies of a cross between 'Qvarna' and 'Sky Line' by rose breeding team of the Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 1999. It was finally selected in 2005 after evaluation trials for five years (2001-2005). 'Green Beauty' was developed for a standard-type cut flower. 'Green Beauty' has good qualified flower of which color is fair orange-yellow and green. 'Green Beauty' produces $178stems/m^2$ in a year, and has 62 petals per flower. Vase life of the cultivar could be as long as 12 days. 'Green Beauty' has some good agricultural and marketing traits. Futhermore marketing-quality was good in some aspects. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2006, and was released to commercial growers in 2007.

A new standard rose cv. 'Honey Lemon' was bred by the cross between white standard cv. 'Escimo' and light pink standard cv. 'Medeo' at the National Institute of Horticultural Research Institute. The cross was made in 1999 and 'Honey Lemon' was finally selected in 2003 after investigating characteristics for three years from 2001 to 2003. 'Honey Lemon', a white standard cultivar grows vigorously and has good flower shape. The major characteristics of this cultivar are $248.0stems/m^2/year$ in yield, 53.0 cm in length of cut flower, 8.0 cm in flower diameter, 17.0 in petal number, and 16.9 days in vase life. This cultivar can be propagated by both cutting and grafting. The consumer's preference of this cultivar is relatively higher than that of control cv., 'Tineke'. (Registration number: 1151).

It was finally selected in 2004 after evaluation trials for three years (2002-2004). 'Red Flash' was developed for a standard-type cut flower. 'Red Flash' produces $123stems/m^2$ in a year, and has 36 petals per flower. The length of cut flower was long with 65.2 cm. Vase life of the cultivar could be as long as 7.6 days. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2006, and was released to commercial growers in 2007.
