Abstract
A new rose cultivar, was selected from the progenies of a cross between 'Red Sandra' and 'Neon' by rose breeding team of the Gyeonggi-Do Agricultural Research and Extension Services in 2000. It was finally selected in 2004 after evaluation trials for three years (2002-2004). 'Red Flash' was developed for a standard-type cut flower. 'Red Flash' produces $123stems/m^2$ in a year, and has 36 petals per flower. The length of cut flower was long with 65.2 cm. Vase life of the cultivar could be as long as 7.6 days. The cultivar was applied for a variety protection in 2006, and was released to commercial growers in 2007.
