  • We investigate factors that influence the choice of high-share brands(HSBs) vs. low-share brands(LSBs) among various product and consumer characteristics related to brand-share perceptions. Specifically, using 8 product categories varying in terms of purchase decision involvement, we show how the influencing factors vary across the categories. At the general level that cover all the 8 categories, our hierarchical Bayesian regressions analysis shows that factors that favor high-share brands are purchase decision involvement, search goods, experience goods, price-quality relationship, positive network externalities, and price-prestige beliefs. Conversely, consumers who value variety seeking and need for uniqueness favor low-share brands. The effects of these factors, however, vary across product categories. The identification of these characteristics can help brand managers establish a more effective brand-share strategy in such areas as setting an optimal market share goal, extending a brand, and developing ad copy. Furthermore, our consumer segmentation analysis demonstrates the general market has two distinct segments - (1) a segment composed of HSB buyers(86%) and (2) a segment composed of LSB buyers(14%). The two segments are also shown to have different significant factors that explain their brand choice. Our segmentation analysis can help marketers establish a marketing strategy that targets a specific segment of interest.

We chose the object housing cultural center and made checklist to understand space condition and brand image reflection. housing cultural center should be reborn as a cultural rest space for customers and residents, and especially new definition of function and concept of resting place is necessary. The resting place of housing cultural center is not just offering an extra room for customers but a link-space and an intermediation-space to link the functions of each space where customers stay for long time. So there should be proper design that expresses the brand image for resting place. From the research, we found that the resting place has cafe like design with tables and chairs. Some of them are gallery-cafe like or book-cafe like to emphasize the cultural aspects. But they are not proper to express brand image. So there should be detailed guidelines of design for resting place of housing cultural center to express brand image.

First, as a result of brand architecture composition, apparel enterprises used the strategy that initially paved the way launching several brands in a specific item category and after that diversified to other categories. Most enterprises used the multi-brand strategy operating plural brands in a same zoning. The terms for launching succeeding brands were about $1{\sim}5$ years. Second, as a result of analysing the cases which several brands competes within a same zoning, all the posterior brands had some differences from the prior ones. The most frequent differentiation factor was price. Concept, target age, and distribution channel followed. The order of the factors was somewhat different among the item categories. The differentiation strategy among in-house competing brands meant that the enterprises manage plural brands in a same zoning for the growth of whole market share instead of the direct competition among in-house brands. The results of this study can suggest a growth direction to the enterprises planning to launch new brands.

  • With the rapid advancement of social media analytics and artificial intelligence, many studies have used online customer reviews as an important source to measure service quality in many industries, including the hotel industry. However, these studies have failed to identify the relative importance of different dimensions of service quality and their role in customer satisfaction. To fill this research gap, this study aims to identify the effects of service quality on hotel customer satisfaction from the multidimensional perspectives using sentiment analysis with self-training on online reviews. Additionally, the moderating role of the brand of origin for each service quality dimension is also investigated. Drawing on the SERVQUAL model and brand of origin concept, this study develops 12 hypotheses and empirically tests them using 30,070 online customer hotel reviews collected from TripAdvisor.com. The results indicated that overall service quality and each dimension of SERVQUAL significantly influenced customer satisfaction of hotels. The results also confirmed the moderating effects of brand of origin on overall service quality. However, the moderating effects of brand of origin for the tangible, reliability, and empathy dimensions of service quality were significant, whereas the effects for responsiveness and assurance were not. This study sheds new light on service quality measurement by analyzing the multidimensional features of service quality and the role of brand of origin in the hotel service context.

  • This paper suggests our own new brand, Kirin. Not only we are able to design the symbolic animal of UOU, but also we are able to use the character to advertize UOU and merchandize it. These days many men between teens and 30s contact with the various characters through internet games, also they purchase goods related with the characters. For women between elementary students and workers, they purchase the various character goods such as stationery, clothes, and dolls. However, there are not many universities that produce their own characters to advertize their schools and to merchandize them. From this point of view, developing new brand would be the medium of transmitting joy to attract excellent students and to elevate the love of school. Originating the distinctive character in UOU can be used as various merchandising through licensing. Moreover, this friendly brand using character would be produced as skin image of fun and stories and spread through internet homepage. Finally, it would accord with the brand needs of consumer and contribute to advertize UOU.
