Computer vision and natural-language dialogue play an important role in friendly human-machine interfaces for service robots. In this paper we describe an integrated face detection and face recognition system for a welfare robot, which has also been combined with the robot's speech interface. Our approach to face detection is to combine neural network (NN) and genetic algorithm (GA): ANN serves as a face filter while GA is used to search the image efficiently. When the face is detected, embedded Hidden Markov Model (EMM) is used to determine its identity. A real-time system has been created by combining the face detection and recognition techniques. When motivated by the speaker's voice commands, it takes an image from the camera, finds the face inside the image and recognizes it. Experiments on an indoor environment with complex backgrounds showed that a recognition rate of more than 88% can be achieved.

방송과 초고속인터넷 서비스를 동시에 제공할 수 있는 HFC(Hybrid Fiber Coaxial) 망은 상/하향이 비대칭 구조이며, 하향속도에 비해 상향속도가 1/10 수준이어서 상향 트래픽이 과다하게 생성될 경우 인터넷속도 지연이 발생한다. 지연에 민감한 VoIP 서비스의 품질보장 방안으로는, DOCSIS(Data Over Cable System Interface Specification) 1.1 기반의 상향 스케쥴링 기능을 이 용한 VoCM(Voice Over Cable Modem)이 있다. 그러나 별도의 VoCM을 사용해야 하며 아날로그 전화기를 사용해 IP 기반의 VoIP 단말을 사용할 수 없다는 단점이 있다. 일반 CM(Cable Modem)에 DOCSIS 1.1 Config File을 이용하여 VoIP 품질을 보장할 경우 별도의 트래픽 대역을 항상 점유해야 하는 단점이 있다. 이에, 본 논문에서는 효율적 대역폭 이용과 단말장비에 종속적이지 않은 방안을 제안하고 일반 CM을 통한 유무선 환경하에서 Dynamic QoS(Quality Of Service)를 제공할 수 있는 PCMM(Packet Cable MultiMedia) 적용 방안 및 시험결과에 대해 고찰하고자 한다.

본 논문은 MPLS 기반의 VPN 서비스를 제공하고 각 VPN 사이트가 요구하는 QoS를 제공할 수 있는 에지 라우터를 설계하고 구현한다. 에지 라우터 설계를 위하여 라우팅과 시그널링 프로토콜을 기반으로 하는 제어 구조와 패킷 포워딩을 위한 데이터 구조를 설계하고 이를 이용하여 각각의 기능적 블록간의 인터페이스를 설계한다. 또한 에지 라우터의 설계를 기반으로 차별화 된 VPN 서비스를 제공하는 MPLS기반의 VPN을 구현하고, 시뮬레이션을 통하여 설계된 에지 라우터 간 차별화 된 경로를 설정해 줌으로써 VPN 사이트 간에 요구되는 대역폭과 지연 등 트래픽 특성을 보장해 줄 수 있음을 확인한다.

오늘날 전 세계적으로 스마트폰 사용자가 증가하면서 SNS(Social Network Service)를 활용한 어플리케이션의 이용이 더욱 보편화 되고 있는 추세이다. 이에 따라 모바일 환경의 SNS 어플리케이션에 맞는 사용자 인터페이스에 대한 수요 역시 증가하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 SNS 어플리케이션에 적용할 수 있는 사용자에게 더 높은 몰입감과 편의성을 제공하기 위한 직관적인 3D 사용자 인터페이스를 제안한다. 제안하는 시스템은 Facebook Open API를 기반으로 소셜 네트워크 구성원의 프로필 사진을 3D 방식으로 배치하는 인터페이스 기법과 효과를 구현하며, 이를 통해 사용자의 SNS 어플리케이션 사용성을 제고한다.

Substation automation is one of the key issues for the enhancement of the power industrial foundation. IEC 60850 is an international standard specifying communication network and systems in substation. It supports interchangeability and interoperability of equipments from different vendors. ACSI(Abstract communication service interface) specifies basic communication structure for substation and IEDs. It supports communication as well as various services without proper protocols. For actual communication, MMS(Manufacturing Message Specification : ISO 9506) is used to map ACSI services. Solutions for the development of communication driver based don IEC 61850 are proposed in this paper.

Distribution Automation System(DAS) is designed to improve operational efficiency by acquisition and control of remote data using its components such as central computation units, communication network and feeder remote terminal units. A conventional human machine interface of the DAS adopts a schematic diagram which is made by drawing power equipments on the geographic information system map. The single line diagram is more useful than the schematic diagram for the main tasks of distribution system operation such as protective relay coordination, service restoration and loss minimization. Since the configuration of the distribution line is changed according to the relocation of the open tie switches, the auto-drawing algorithm based on the connection between the sections and the switches is an essential technique. This paper proposes a new auto-drawing algorithm for a single line diagram of distribution systems based on tertiary tree and collision avoidance method. The feasibility of the proposed algorithm has been testified for various cases using practical distribution system with 12 feeders.

A remote data communication system for monitoring of NC machine fault diagnosis and status is developed. This system communicates with host PC by using dial-up communication method on PSTN. The developed system consists of (1)remote communication module among NC's and host PC using PSTN, (2) 8 channels analog data sensing module, (3) digital I/O module for control of NC machine, (4) communication module between NC machine and remote data communication system using RS-232c, and (5) Software man-machine interface. This system may be applied for remote sensing of the status in Fms. To show the veridity of the developed system, several examples are illustrated.

Embedded system is used a lot in electric home appliances and home network equipment. However, this system is designed to operate by the system operator directly at home and operator could find out them only when he pays attention to the system in case event happens. In this paper, to improve above things, it designed to remote-control system anywhere in which internet access is possible as well as at home, and also it designed SMS(short message service) information transmission system to inform the errors to the operator when they happen. To design the system, development board(be included the Strong Arm), CDMA module, and electric door lock are used as hardware, and web browser, CGI(common gateway interface) programming, and C-language are used for implementation of software in embedded-linux platform.

WMNs(Wireless Mesh Networks)은 기존 유 무선망 구축 시 발생하는 고가의 비용 및 이동성 제약 등의 단점을 극복하기 위해 제안된 네트워크 구조로써 네트워크 구축비용에 비해 광범위한 인터넷 접근영역을 제공하는 장점을 가진다. 특히, IEEE 802.11e를 MAC 계층으로 사용하는 WMN은 기존 IEEE802.11에서 보다 강화된 QoS(Quality of Service)기능을 가지므로, 안정적 멀티미디어 관련 응용 계층을 지원하는 WMN 구축을 위해 주목받고 있는 기술 중 하나이다. 본 논문은 광주과학기술원에 설치된 MIMC(Multi-Interface Multi-Channel) WMN 테스트베드를 QoS 기능 지원을 위해 IEEE 802.11e 기반으로 확장한다. 특히, 확장에 필요한 소프트웨어 요소 및 하드웨어 요소에 대해 논한다. 또한, 확장된 IEEE 802.11e WMN 테스트베드를 사용하여 현재 주목받고 있는 IEEE 802.11e기반 WMN의 기본 쓰루풋 성능, 쓰루풋 차별화 성능등을 실험적으로 분석한다.

본 논문은 스마트 시민 정당 개념 정립을 위해서 스마트 시민 정당의 정의 및 유형, 스마트 시민 정당의 기능을 살펴보고 CocKpit, PADGET, UBIPOL 등 7개의 스마트 시민 정당 플랫폼 사례를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 분류하고 분석한 요소기술은 개방형 데이터 정보관리 기술, 소설 컴퓨팅 및 시민참여 관련 기술, 정책 분석 및 정책결정 관련 기술, 보안 및 개인정보보호 관련 기술과 협업정치를 위한 인프라 관리기술로서 스마트 시민 정당 구축을 위해서는 관련 요소기술들의 확보뿐만 아니라 각 기술 간의 연동 및 통합기술이 필요한 것으로 나타났다.
