An Dynamic Branch Prediction Scheme to Reduce Negative Interferences for ILP Processors (ILP 프로세서를 위한 부정적 간섭을 감소시키는 동적 분기예상 기법)

  • ILP processors require an accurate branch prediction scheme to achieve higher performance. Two-Level branch predictor has been known to achieve high prediction accuracy. But, when a branch accesses a PHT entry that was, previously updated by other branch, Two-level predictor may cause interferences. Negative interferences among all interferences have a negative effect on performance, since they can cause branch mispredictions. Agree predictor achieve high prediction accuracy by converting negative interferences to positive interferences by adding bias bits to BTB, but negative interferences may occur when bias bit is set incorrectly. This paper presents a new dynamic branch predictor which reduces negative interferences. In the proposed predictor, we attach hit bits to entries in BTB to change bias bit dynamically during the execution time, h a result the proposed scheme improve the accuracy of prediction by reducing negative Interferences effectively, To illustrate the effect of the proposed scheme, we evaluate the performance of this scheme using SPEC92int benchmarks, The results show that the proposed scheme can outperform traditional branch predictors.

Propagation Constant and Material constants of Metamaterials (Metamaterial의 전파 상수 및 물질 상수)

  • The propagation constant, which is defined for a double-positive (DPS) material of positive permittivity (${\varepsilon}'$) and permeability (${\mu}'$), is extended and derived for an epsilon-negative (ENG) material (${\varepsilon}'<0,\;{\mu}'>0$), a mu-negative (MNG) material (${\varepsilon}'>0,\;{\mu}'<0$), and a double-negative (DNG) material (${\varepsilon}'<0,\;{\mu}'<0$). By investigating how the permittivity loss (${\varepsilon}"$) and permeability loss (${\mu}"$) terms affect the propagation constant, we determine that the wave in the materials propagates as a right-handed (RH) triad or a left-handed (LH) triad. Regardless of the magnitudes of ${\varepsilon}"$ and ${\mu}"$, DPS and DNG materials become RH and LH media, respectively. However, ENG and MNG materials possess unusual characteristics that both materials become a RH medium when the sign of (${\varepsilon}'{\mu}"+{\varepsilon}"{\mu}'$) is positive and they become a LH medium when the sign is negative.

Analysis and Design of High Efficiency Feedforward Amplifier Using Distributed Element Negative Group Delay Circuit (분산 소자 형태의 마이너스 군지연 회로를 이용한 고효율 피드포워드 증폭기의 분석 및 설계)

  • We will demonstrate a novel topology for the feedforward amplifier. This amplifier does not use a delay element thus providing an efficiency enhancement and a size reduction by employing a distributed element negative group delay circuit. The insertion loss of the delay element in the conventional feedforward amplifier seriously degrades the efficiency. Usually, a high power co-axial cable or a delay line filter is utilized for a low loss, but the insertion loss, cost and size of the delay element still acts as a bottleneck. The proposed negative group delay circuit removes the necessity of the delay element required for a broadband signal suppression loop. With the fabricated 2-stage distributed element negative group delay circuit with -9 ns of total group delay, a 0.2 dB of insertion loss, and a 30 MHz of bandwidth for a wideband code division multiple access downlink band, the feedforward amplifier with the proposed topology experimentally achieved a 19.4 % power added efficiency and a -53.2 dBc adjacent channel leakage ratio with a 44 dBm average output power.

  • This study is to investigate extensively the negative word-of-mouth responses and intentions of the public library users. It selects and analyzes empirically some of the antecedents of the complaining behaviors including severity of dissatisfaction attitude toward complaining, difficulty of the complaining, likelihood of success, product/service importance, external attributions, loyalty, and former experience of complaining. Final data through questionaries are obtained from 497 unsatisfied adult public library users in Taegu Metropolitan City, 443 of them analysed with SPSS 12.0 for Windows.

Surface static properties in polymer hybrid material after plasma treatment (플라즈마 처리한 고분자 복합재료의 표면특성변화)

  • In this study, which was performed to identify a degradation mechanism in macromolecular insulating material, the contact angle, surface potential decay, surface resistance rate and XPS analysis were compared after exposure of fibre-glass-reinforced polymer laminate to plasma discharge. In the case of chemical changes arising from plasma treatment, carboxyl radicals were generated mainly in the plasma-treated surface, which was rapidly changed to a hydrophilic surface. In the corona potential decay study to determine the electrical changes, leading to a negative surface for the untreated specimen. However, in the case of the hydrophilic surface, a lot of carboxy radicals(-COO) acting as positive polarity were generated, resulting in a positive surface. Owing to such a positive surface, the charges of applied negative polarity were decreased rapidly.

  • This paper presents a metamaterial absorber unit sell structure with four-element electric-LC resonators (ELC). In order to enhance the operating bandwidth of the proposed absorber unit cell two pairs of ELC resonators with a different size are used. The proposed unit cell shows negative permittivity and permeability when the electric field is parallel to the capacitive gap and the magnetic field is normal to the plane of ELC resonator. The simulated results show peak absorbance over 90% at two frequencies of 8.53 and 9.08 GHz, respectively.

  • In this paper hair bundle feature model and integration method for hair cell models were proposed. The proposed hair bundle feature model was based on spring-damper-mass model. Input of integrated vestibular hair cell model was frequency and output was interspike interval of hair cell that was reflected the feature of hair bundles. Irregular afferents that had a great gain variation showed reduction of negative stiffness section. Regular afferents that had a small gain variation, however, showed same feature with base negative stiffness feature. As a result, integrated vestibular hair cell model showed almost the same modeling data with experimental data in the modeled eleven frequency bands. It is verified that the proposed model is a good model for hair bundle feature modeling.

  • Through Web 2.0 days, the end users express their opinions and thoughts for blogs and community spaces on the Internet. These opinions and thoughts are used to purchase products, however, users only refer to a few comments not overall opinions. Opinion Analysis System is an opinion search, developed from a natural language search, which analyzes the product's positive or negative evaluations using opinions of products and services on the Internet. In this paper, we suggest a syntactic analysis and inverse processing system that studies and processes 'Positive', 'Negative', 'Neutral' in addition to 'Inverse' information to analyze 'positive' or 'negative' for the core of sentences in Opinion Analysis Service.

The effects of sales promotion and message framing on purchase intentions: Moderating effect of time pressure (모바일 커머스 환경에서 판매촉진 형태와 메시지 프레이밍이 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 시간압박의 조절효과를 중심으로)

  • Purpose Unlike advertising through the traditional media targeting unspecified number of people, the base of mobile environment using smartphone has expanded so that many companies can classify prospective customers according to their purpose, thereby enabling efficient targeted marketing with low cost. Design/methodology/approach This study has investigated how can marketing strategy be influenced by the price promotion type (immediate discount/delayed discount) and message framing (positive/negative) according to time pressure (low/high). Hypotheses are set through the consideration of prospect theory, endowment effect, framing effect, regulatory-focus theory, and time-pressure theory. Findings The results and interpretation of this study are as follows. First, it was found that the influence of the delayed discount on the purchase intention was larger than the immediate discount. Second, negative/loss frame messages have more influence on purchase intention than positive/profit frame messages. Third, when the price promotion type is delayed discount, the effect of the promotion message on the purchase intention when it presented by negative/loss frame is greater than the other cases. The implication of this study is that it can be used as a basic data for establishing a strategy to maximize the effectiveness of promotions effectively considering potential buyers of mobile commerce environment.

The EVA Analysis by the Financial Structure of the Firm (기업재무구조에의한 경제적 부가가치 분석)

  • This study is intended to analyze what trend the EVA technique recently actively studied shows according to the financial structure of the firm. As a result of analysis, it was found that the firm with the entire sum of its capitals depleted showed the negative value in both the EVA on the basis of operating profit and the EVA on the basis of cash flow from 5 years before its capitals were depleted. Especially, its EVA showed the negative value more strongly than the cash flow accruing by business activity. In analyzing the EVA of the firm with more than 1,500% of the debt to equity ratio, its EVA also showed the negative value from 5 years ago. But the firm with the good financial structure of the debt to equity of less than 35% showed the positive value in the EVA on the basis of its cash flow from 5 years ago. As can be seen from this result, the fact is that the firm can survive only when it raises its EVA through its structural change(re-engineering) and business innovation. Therefore, firms need to seek to turn their business philosophy or policy into the promotion of business innovation and business management emphasizing technology in order to improve their EVA indicators.
